Well certainly people like Graham, Bolton, and all the neocons are serving their purpose as well for taking the bait to jump into any new challenge, esp. in ME, the incubator for all never ending involvements, and get into another $$$ draining quagmire for the country, distracting Trump from his focus on using the enemies' economies to attack rather than the usual means. With all of the arrows coming in from all sides one has to think that yes, perhaps Trump is actually that "stable genius"!!
After reading the article about Trump announcing Turkish invasion etc, and reviewing his actions as a "businessman", I can't help but think he's following the plan of giving his enemies enough rope to hang themselves. What with so many pundits, cultural leaders, etc. literally screaming for his political blood, I can't help but wonder if by allowing Ergodan to invade Syria he's killing multiple birds with one stone. Yes, he's withdrawing American troops from Syria. That's not preventing him from secretly sending CIA agents to provide military training and support, much like Reagan did with the mujahideen in Afghanistan. (See the film "Charlie Wilson's War".) That didn't work out the way hoped, but that's because the policymakers and purse-string holders in Washington ignored the previous lessons of war, namely, you can't just win the war, you have to win the peace. The Marshal Plan saved Western Europe from becoming another Soviet proxy by helping to rebuild it. Syria has mutual defense treaties with both Russia and Iran, some of which go back to the Soviet era. Syria has bought the most recent Russian anti-aircraft technology (the S-400), which was greatly feared but proved to be ineffectual against Israeli aircraft. Its treaties with Iran are more interesting, in that it allows Syria to send its best and brightest engineering, technology, and science students to study in Iran FOR FREE. During that time they are exposed to and taught the type of Islam that promotes the return of the Mahdi. In another few years, a very pro-Iranian intelligentsia will be in power in Syria waiting for the return on the Mahdi and working to ensure that return. If Syria elects to activate these treaties against the Turkish invasion, Turkey's membership in NATO will mean squat. The NATO treaties do not apply when one member takes unprovoked action against another nation. (It's why the USA couldn't activate NATO during the Vietnam War.) Russia and Iran can attack Turkey without fear of retaliation by NATO. If ISIS prisoners DO wind up in Turkey, Trump can use that as evidence, if not proof, of Turkey's willing disregard of its NATO treaty obligations, and can take steps to have Turkey expelled from NATO. This will also nail shut the coffin of Turkey's membership in the EU. Trump, in praising Putin, can put pressure on Russia and its rich Orthodox heritage, to act as protectors of the Syrian Christians against Syria, Turkey, and Iran. Maybe not what the Evangelicals were looking for, but they can't say Trump left the Christians to fend for themselves against the wolves. Think that might be enough rope?

Your scenario could be accelerating. I have read reports that the Syrian army, in alliance with the Kurds, is heading north to take on the Turks. Of course, Syria and Russia are very close.
This just makes me ill. My sister delivered a stillborn very close to term and I was with her. It was the most precious time and a gift from God to hold her little Samuel and help her say goodbye to this child. We cried for weeks and will always be grateful to the hospital staff who made this painful experience heavenly. The other is just sick. Dear Lord have mercy on us.

In the discussion upon the forum of Monsignor Benson's 'Lord of the World' in the last day or two, I couldn't avoid being struck by a contemporary echo of the character Felsenberg with Zuckerberg. I wasn't sure if it was fair to say it, until I read this post. Apparently, the only inhibition he has against invasiveness is the negative publicity.
