AED, I thought of some of Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich's prophecies. I recently saw someone post that some of her prophecies may not be accurate but she does offer a lot of details which could point to what we are witnessing now. I also remember us discussing that she may be speaking of Pope Benedict when she states "Holy Father". May 13, 1820: “Last night, from eleven to three, I had a most wonderful vision of two churches and two Popes and a variety of things, ancient and modern…. I saw the fatal consequences of this counterfeit church; I saw it increase; I saw heretics of all kinds flocking to the city. I saw the ever-increasing tepidity of the clergy, the circle of darkness ever widening. And now the vision became more extended. I saw in all places Catholics oppressed, annoyed, restricted, and deprived of liberty, churches were closed, and great misery prevailed everywhere with war and bloodshed. I saw rude, ignorant people offering violent resistance, but this state of things lasted not long. Again I saw in vision St. Peter’s undermined according to a plan devised by the secret sect while, at the same time, it was damaged by storms; but it was delivered at the moment of greatest distress. Again I saw the Blessed Virgin extending her mantle over it.” June 1, 1821 “Among the strangest things that I saw, were long processions of bishops. Their thoughts and utterances were made known to me through images issuing from their mouths. Their faults towards religion were shown by external deformities. A few had only a body, with a dark cloud of fog instead of a head. Others had only a head, their bodies and hearts were like thick vapors. Some were lame; others were paralytics; others were asleep or staggering. I saw what I believe to be nearly all the bishops of the world, but only a small number were perfectly sound. I also saw the Holy Father – God-fearing and prayerful. Nothing left to be desired in his appearance, but he was weakened by old age and by much suffering. His head was lolling from side to side, and it dropped onto his chest as if he was falling asleep He often fainted and seemed to be dying. But when he was praying, he was often comforted by apparitions from Heaven. Then, his head was erect, but as soon as it dropped again onto his chest, I saw a number of people looking quickly right and left, that is, in the direction of the world…” August 10, 1822: “I see the Holy Father in great distress. He lives in another palace and receives only a few to his presence. If the wicked party knew their own great strength, they would even now have made an attack. I fear the Holy Father will suffer many tribulations before his death, for I see the black counterfeit church gaining ground, I see its fatal influence on the public. The distress of the Holy Father and of the Church is really so great that one ought to pray to God day and night. I have been told to pray much for the Church and the Pope…. Last night I was taken to Rome where the Holy Father, plunged in affliction, is still concealed in order to elude dangerous exigencies. He is very feeble, quite worn out by distress, anxiety, and prayer. His chief reason for lying concealed is because he can now trust so few.” August 25, 1822: “I know not now how I went to Rome last night, but I found myself near the church of St. Mary-Major. Around it I saw crowds of poor, pious souls, in great distress and anxiety on account of the Pope’s disappearance and the agitation and alarming reports throughout the city. Led by one common impulse, they had come to invoke the Mother of God. They did not expect to find the church open, they intended only to pray outside. But I was inside, I opened the door and they entered, astounded at the door’s opening of itself. I was standing aloof where they could not see me. There was no service, only the chancel-lamps were burning, and the people knelt in quiet prayer. Then the Mother of God appeared. She said that great tribulations were at hand; that the people must pray earnestly with extended arms, if only for the length of three Our Fathers, for it was thus that her Son had prayed for them upon the Cross; that they should rise at midnight to pray thus; that they should continue to come to her church which they would always find open; and that they should, above all, pray for the extirpation of the dark church.” September 27, 1822: “I saw heartrending misery, playing, drinking, gossiping, even courting going on in the church. All sorts of abominations were committed in it; they had even set up a ninepin alley in the middle of it. The priests let things go their way and said Mass very irreverently; only a few of them were still a little intelligent and pious. I saw Jews standing around the doorways. All this grieved me deeply. Then my Heavenly Spouse bound me as He Himself had been bound to the pillar, and He said: ‘So will the Church yet be bound. She will be tightly bound before she shall again arise.’” October 22, 1822: “‘Very evil times are coming,’ [my guide] said. ‘The non-Catholics will mislead many. They will use every possible means to entice them from the Church, and great disturbances will follow.’ I had then another vision in which I saw the King’s daughter armed for the struggle. Multitudes contributed to this with prayers, good works, all sorts of labors and self-victories which passed from hand to hand up to Heaven where each was wrought, according to its kind, into a piece of armor for the virgin warrior. The perfect adjustment of the various pieces was most remarkable, as also their wonderful signification. She was armed from head to foot. I knew many of those who contributed the armor, and I saw with surprise that whole institutions and great and learned people furnished nothing. The contribution was made chiefly by the poor and lowly. And now I saw the battle. The enemies’ ranks were by far the more numerous; but the little body of the faithful cut down whole rows of them. The armed virgin stood off on a hill. I ran to her, pleading for my country and those other places for which I had to pray. She was armed singularly, but significantly, with helmet, shield, and coat of mail, and the soldiers were like those of our own day. The battle was terrible; only a handful of victorious champions survived!” *** I tell my husband about most of the things that are occurring in the Church and some times he watches World Over with me and he prays. He believes in the supernatural but many other people that I know do not and when I have discussed various things that are occurring I have been a little surprised by their response. I think that since the past few generations have been indoctrinated while in school this sometimes has transferred over to their parents also. I usually do not discuss Pope Francis with my children though, I suppose that I am hopeful that Our Lady's Heart will Triumph soon and I won't have to.
As much as I like and listen to Catholic radio I have noticed that there is a very conspicuous absence of almost any mention of all of the controversy and confusion going on in the Church right now. I don't mean just this synod, I mean just about anything going on for the past few years. They certainly don't bring it up themselves and I don't think they like to take callers who have questions about any of this. If some sneak through and bring an issue up the host manufactures an excuse. On the positive side I have noticed that I don't hear that priest who falsely slandered Church Militant on the radio anymore.
I'm caring for my parents now and I take them to the local Novus Ordo parish which is very liberal. They have 2 African priests who are very good and have come over to help out the parish cluster. About a year ago one of them said we are going to start instituting the St. Michael prayer again at Mass along with other changes to come to make the Mass more traditional. I'm not talking about vestments or the Latin Mass or anything. He meant adding novenas, the rosary, etc. Then after 2 weeks they stopped saying the prayer altogether and no more mention of the other changes ever came. I have always wondered if that priest was spoken to...
I'm not sure that anyone, anywhere has commented on the fact that Francis is quoted as saying' Jesus was not A god' (both Spanish and Italian have a clear distinction between the definite and indefinite article just as in English) . Does that imply that Francis might believe that Jesus is now (if not during His incarnation) one of several (or possibly three) 'gods'? His support for the pantheism of the indigenous people of the Amazon might lend further support to this interpretation of the alleged use of the indefinite article. Also interesting to note that Scalfari said that 'anyone who has spoken to the Pope' on this subject would be aware of his view of Jesus' humanity/divinity!! That would include a whole host of the hierarchy (not like them to hide things is it?)
Primal scream coming!!! Our beloved ancient true and holy Church has cleverly been taken like Troy with the wooden horse and like the complacent Trojans--warned by Cassandra but oblivious--our shepherds tore down the wall of the sheepfold and welcomed in the wolves. Or worse became wolves themselves. The long version of the St Michael prayer lays it all out. Now I understand what Pope Leo saw and why he fainted away as if dead.
Makes you wonder. How very sad. I have noticed liberal parishes resist very relentlessly any efforts to restore tradition. They go to the Bishop and complain. We really are living separate Faiths in many ways. Schism is a horrible horrible rupture but it may have already informally occurred some time back. Who knows. It takes all my effort and energy to keep on the narrow path myself. I am so grateful for the little remnant who attend the Adoration chapel Masses. We are all on the same page. All prolife and all committed to the true teaching of the Church. It makes Mass very peaceful. But our wonderful priest is getting up in years. I dread losing him.
These visions seem so accurate for right now. That poor holy father could surely be Benedict. I know what you mean about how many Catholics have no sense of the supernatural. Bad catachesis and the lure of the world I guess.
They are being “ Vatican Politically Correct “...in other words...they know the consequences. Heads would roll. A lot of catholic show host answer to the church for their radio jobs...or their family members are employed by a diocese....they want to stay on the air. No controversy....no problem. Hear no evil...see no evil. The Vatican can’t shut down the internet...for now at least.
Yes the dioceses run the Catholic radio or at least the stations are answerable to them. This is why we are blessed EWTN never got taken over by the U.S. bishops like they attempted to do.
Not yet....they tried to get Raymond Arrayo fired. So far, they’ve been unsuccessful....but mother Angelica isn’t around to fight those devils off.
Perhaps she is now in a better position than ever to fight them off. The vivid prophesies of Anne Catherine Emmerich seem to describe a battle in the Holy Places between Good and Evil, led by the prayer-armed 'Virgin Warrior'. It pains me to say it, but the prophesy mentions a 'black counterfeit Church', which reminds me of the Jesuit tradition of their leader being the 'black pope'. The Holy Father described in the prophesy certainly resembles the Pope Emeritus. I notice, in the context of spiritual battle, that the Latin word emeritus originally meant 'veteran soldier'. I'll say no more. Let us provide more armour for Our Lady.
There is a long post on 1P5 thqat the "2 Popes" have been thought to be 2 popes in the past (I forget which ones) but I have long thought that we think to linearly about things like this. God's intellect is vast compared to ours. He could easily have 2, 3, 4 or even more messages secreted away in one prophecy or one Bible verse. Just like when Bible scholars try to say that the number of the beast refers to Nero. Maybe it does, but maybe it also refer's to someone else. I think the 2 popes prophecies could very well refer to these times possibly as well as other times.
Steve Skojec wrote that article interpreting ACE's prophecy of the two Popes. He broke it down historically from her time period. It turns out this prophecy of hers does not talk about two concurrent Popes (Popes at the same time) but two Popes from different times in Church history.
I'll have to reassess. It does show the importance of context. Her description of events surrounding the second pope does bear a strong resemblance to the happenings of the present.
https://akacatholic.com/diaconate-formation-women Vatican Confirms: Women already in diaconate formation Louie Vatican Confirms: Women already in diaconate formation In yesterday’s Amazon Synod briefing, Vatican News reported on a presentation given by Bishop Wilmar Santin, O.CARM., of Itaituba, Brazil, in which he recounted a conversation with His Hereticalness: The Pope said he [Santin] should start with what the Church already allows: the permanent diaconate. Acording to the Vatican News report: They developed a plan with an Italian priest who had worked in the indigenous missions in Amazonia all his life. The first step involved creating Ministers of the Eucharist, then ministries that Deacons perform in order to move toward being ordained as Deacons. NB: The purpose of this program has been plainly revealed; namely, to move candidates toward ordination. The report continues: They chose to begin with the Ministry of the Word, as the Eucharist cannot be preserved in these territories for very long. Formation for Ministers of the Word began in November 2017. 20 men and 4 women were appointed and began preaching the word of God in their own language. Get that? Under the direction of an unnamed Italian priest, whom one can be certain operated with the blessing (if you will allow) of conciliar Rome and the God of Surprises (aka Jorge Bergoglio), the diocese developed and began a formation process for future deacons in 2017, the first class of which includes four women! Longtime readers may recall a post in this space (which, if I may say so, is well worth revisiting) in February 2017 stating: There are even rumors coming out of Rome that it has already been decided that the diaconate for women will be a reality as early as November 2017. Well, then, it is a rumor no more; even the starting date was correct if we understand the “reality” mentioned to mean women in diaconate formation. The Vatican News report goes on: This past March, Bishop Santin said he returned to that village and found another 24 Ministers of the Word, making a total of 48, who preach in their local language. Though the report doesn’t tell us how many of the twenty-four more recent candidates are female, if the ratio holds, there are now more than a dozen women on the fast track to “ordination” in just this one village alone, and there’s no reason to imagine that this charade is limited to only one place. This will help the people very much, concluded Bishop Santin and in the future, hopefully, the ordination of deacons will be possible. This information comes one day after Bishop Emeritus Erwin Kräutler of Xingu, Brazil went on record telling Edward Pentin of National Catholic Register, “Many of the bishops [at the synod] are in favor of women deacons.” When asked whether he sees the Synod as a means to achieve the ordination of women to the priesthood, Kräutler replied, “Maybe a step to.” The jig is up, folks; the conciliar church is going to “ordain” women to the diaconate with an eye toward eventually creating women priests. The only question that remains concerns at what point in the future this will happen; provided, of course, that Our Lord doesn’t destroy the counterfeit church first. Assuming that He does not, just imagine the lot of our conservative friends who dwell in Novus Ordo Land and the shock value of women all gussied up in their vestments reading the Gospel, assisting at the altar, imparting their blessings… I say bring it on. The sooner this happens, the sooner more eyes will be opened to the fact that neither the Novus Ordo Missae nor the conciliar church are the least bit Catholic. As Bishop Santin said, this will help the people very much!
I'm not surprised by the above, especially after watching Michael Matt's video which included Edward Pentin's question about female deacons. *** It looked to me like that "multi-colored fishing net" (?) being carried in front of Pope Francis might be colored with a rainbow and sure enough it does appear that way. Now, this is another image from the synod that reminds me of the following prophecy from Bl Emmerich, I hate to say. "I saw what I believe to be nearly all the bishops of the world, but only a small number were perfectly sound." Thankfully, Bl Emmerich also prophesized about a new pope who will be strict. This prophecy appears to be about a holy pope which many other approved seers have prophesized about who seems to immediately follow the situation (maybe current?) that she spoke of in her other propehecies which I posted on this thread yesterday. January 27, 1822. "I saw a new Pope who will be very strict. He will estrange from him the cold and lukewarm bishops. He is not a Roman, but he is Italian. He comes from a place which is not very far from Rome, and I think he comes from a devout family of royal blood. But there must still be for a while much fighting and unrest."
