I recently read a commentary (I think on Father Z) by a woman from the Ukraine. Apparently, it was all the talk amongst Ukrainian emigres at the time of the disaster. The Ukrainian lady, who has a strong grasp of classical Greek said that the description of 'Chernobyl' in the original Greek was uncannily accurate in describing the events, speaking of a diffusion and a poisoning of a third (which apparently meant 'a lot' in the Greek idiom) of the waters. The causative object in Revelation is described as a 'star' (certainly the closest thing to a nuclear object knowable by St John) and this star was named 'Wormwood', wormwood being a notoriously toxic species of plant. The Russian for 'wormwood' is 'chernobyl'. According to the article, the communist authorities were so taken aback that the word was deleted from subsequently published dictionaries. Of course, the people had bibles and were able to read the word in Revelation.
That’s basically what I heard on tv ftom a Protestant man who was considered an expert at the time Especially since the word chernobyl translates directly and all the other details you supplied here tie in nicely.
I'd imagine that it had a demoralising effect on the communist authorities of the time and contributed to the ease with which the whole house-of-cards soon collapsed. Imagine the effects on these atheists to see God calling them out from two millenia before, that their misdeeds were always known and that they weren't going to be able to avoid answering for them. Absolutely mind-shattering. And the USSR did shatter. The Roman Empire only collapsed after two centuries of decline, the Soviet one took two years.
And this is why the consecration was accepted in heaven. Lucia told the truth. And the conversion of Russia is happening, slowly, but happening.
Yes, that's what I think. I don't think what happened in the eighties and early nineties has quite sunk in yet. Perhaps these events are too current or maybe they are just too significant to be properly comprehended. One of the most powerful empires in history collapsed virtually overnight, by historical measurement, in the absence of external invasion. The reality seems to be that the USSR disintegrated in the face of the spiritual power of the Catholic Church under the leadership of one of Her most charismatic popes, who also happened to be a subject of Bolshevik tyranny. Conveniently, this truth has been deftly evaded by our global leadership who immediately bypassed these events with hardly a discussion or question, but quickly silenced debate with the nonsense theme of 'the end of history'; in other words 'nothing to see here now or ever again, let's move on'. While the world is filled with endless babble about things that don't even exist, such as global warming and Russian interference with US elections, while even the reality of one's being either a male or female is being ruthlessly oppressed, these Facts and Realities continue to be ignored. Well, the Bolsheviks who only a few decades earlier were boasting of rolling all over our civilisation got one Almighty slap to diminish and cease their delusions. I would expect our own civilisation is now just as vulnerable, probably moreso, to a comparable slap-down. The USSR seemed at its strongest when it was becoming to be at its weakest. How many who were aware of her apparent strength in the late '70's and early '80's could honestly admit to have foreseen that the Soviet Empire would be gone from history in approximately a decade? I remember the bookshelves of that period filled with books about Soviet invasions of the West and apocalyptic predictions of nuclear catastrophe on an unimaginable scale. The Soviets were supposed to possess such a superiority in tanks and manpower that, in the event of what was believed to be inevitable invasion, nuclear response by the West was going to be unavoidable, heralding Armageddon (old joke: "I used to stay awake at night worrying about the Russian tank armies rolling all over Western Europe-then I bought a Lada...and started sleeping again!" A joke that had a kernel of deep truth). Events since have taken such a strategic turn that Armageddon now seems far more likely to happen at its actual historical location (Revelation again?). There are many political, social and economic pointers to the West approaching a degree of instability not incomparable with the state of Chernobyl-era USSR. Part of me even feels 'bring it on'.
In this video, Fr Elias Mary explains the significance of the wound on Sr Sasagawa's hand; how it relates to receiving communion in the hand. Start at ~16.00 min mark if you are short of time.
I still find this correlation a bit strange for a few reasons regardless of the timing of when Sister Agnes Sasagawa began receiving the stigmata because there have been many others who have had stigmata on their hands at different times in the past. In regard to the timing, can what this priest states be confirmed, although imo that would not be enough proof of his hypothesis. I vaguely remember reading what this priest stated in regard to the stigmata appearing on a Thursday and disappearing by Sunday, so if the wound is gone by Sunday the rest of his statement seems strange too. In addition, there is no confirmation of this correlation in the messages from Our Lady of Akita and there are no statements to my knowledge from Sister Sasagawa confirming any such correlation either. Thank you Sg for the video anyway but for me it does not prove the hypothesis. If you find a video with a statement from Sister Agnes herself I would be interested in seeing it. Thanks again. Ref. I found the following which states "Permission for administering Communion in the hand was granted by the Holy See to the following countries and regions under Pope Paul VI:... Japan, 27 June 1970" at this link https://www.praytellblog.com/index....-of-communion-in-the-hand-under-pope-paul-vi/ and the priest in the video states that Sister Agnes received the stigmata for a period of a month (5 weeks) beginning on July 6, 1973 beginning on Thursdays and ending on Saturdays. (July 5, 1973 is actually a Thursday.) Ultimately, I think that people will decide for themselves what the significance of Sister Agnes' stigmata is. Edited to add: Let me be clear this is not a debate over receiving the Holy Eucharist on the tongue or in the hand. I am simply stating that I do not believe that it is at all clear that the significance of Sister Agnes' stigmata has a direct connection with receiving the Holy Eucharist in the hand. Remember, I believe in the apparitions of Garabandal which included the following, "Less and less importance is being given to the Eucharist." Obviously, I agree with this for many reasons. If I was to venture a guess about the significance of Sister Agnes' stigmata I think that it provides more credence to the explanation that that changes to the statue were due to supernatural causes and of course, it provides more proof that the messages of Our Lady of Akita were from God especially since her stigmata was in the shape of a cross.
The priest mentioned that communion in the hand was introduced in Japan in 1973. Permission may have been given earlier, but that was when it was introduced to the faithful. I don't see why that is difficult to accept. I firmly believe that communion in the hand is displeasing to God. The manner in which it came to be permitted is also questionable, when the majority of bishops did not agree to it anyway. But, whatever the circumstances that led to it, do you not believe that there are particles which cling to people's hands and also drop to the floor, whenever communion is received in the hand? Particles which are truly the body, blood, soul and divinity of our Lord Jesus. And it certainly cannot be denied that communion in the hand has led to abuses and sacrilege and widespread loss in the reverence due to our Lord. Why, as the priest mentioned, only 30% of Catholics know what the Eucharist really is!
Just beautifully said DeGaulle! How right you are. And how sad that many don’t see it. My grand parents were ousted from their country because of Russian communism. My grandfather spent 20 years in a political prison because of his Catholic faith and his refusal to give in to the communists. The era of Reagan, our dear Pope, and Thatcher was the happiest time for my entire family. It was a supernatural event. The fall of the Soviet Union was exactly what Fatima predicted. Russia will convert. And she is on her way. I’m not scared of Russia anymore. I am more scared of the West, and it’s refusal to see this miracle.
He makes so many great points in this video. If you have ever read the book 'Get us out of here' by Nicky Eltz you will also find a large section on how Holy Communion in the hand is harmful. Nicky Eltz interviewed the Austrian woman, Maria Simma, who was gifted with knowledge of the Poor Souls in Purgatory. There is a lengthy part of the book dedicated to discussion of the effects of Communion in the hand pgs. 294-325. I think you would like this book, Sg.
I just read this in Fr. Iannuzzi Book Antichrist and the End Times. 8.1 Chronology of Events The teachings of the Church Fathers, Doctors, Writers and modern mystics reveal a chronology of events leading up to the New Jerusalem and the New Heavens and New Earth. These events extend from a Particular Judgment of non-believers, to Satan’s imprisonment to the era of peace, and from Satan’s final reprisal to the Final Judgment. I present these events in sequential order in tabloid form. • The tribulation before the Era of Peace: God destroys atheism and pronounces judgment on all nonbelievers. He casts the False Prophet and the Beast into the fiery lake and enchains Satan. • God spiritually recalls to life those that have died in Christ to instruct the faithful remnant that has survived the tribulation. • Christ’s Divine Will reigns in the souls of men for a prolonged period in human history, symbolized by the expression “one thousand years.” • All creation rejoices in God’s gifts of universal peace, holiness and justice. It is the new Pentecost, the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart and the Eucharistic Reign of Jesus. • Shortly before the end of the Era of Peace, Satan is released. He assembles all the pagan nations to wage war on God’s holy city. • The pagan nations surround the holy city, “then the last anger of God shall come upon the nations, and shall utterly destroy them” and the world shall go down in a great conflagration. • Christ returns, and with the breath of his mouth defeats Gog, Magog and Satan who are thrown into the fiery lake for all eternity. There ensues the resurrection and the General Judgment of the living and the dead, in which the righteous will be raised to eternal happiness and the unrighteous delivered to everlasting punishments. • God renews the universe: the heavens are folded up, God creates New heavens and a New Earth, and men are transformed “into the similitude of angels” and rejoice in God’s beatific vision for all eternity.
I have not read this chronology of the end times by Father Iannuzzi, but believe it presents the very best. It is so compatible with scripture, especially Revelations 19 and 20, as well as prophecy from the past 100 years to the present, which God has given through his messengers. It is also compatible with what Father Gobbi in book To My Beloved Priest Sons and also very compatible with the messages I promote in the book God Speaks Will You Listen www.godspeakswillyoulisten.org , which was given to a man who had just come into the Catholic faith and had no understanding of his messages at the time they were given, but was told to write them down.
It should not really surprise us that certain Church authorities try to bury Akita. This is quite common in Marian Phenomena from La Salette onwards even after they have been given Church Approval. A for instance is that the Cardinal Archbishop of Lisbon at the time of the Fatima events publically condemned them. I am so happy to see a Traditionalist like Michael Matt approving of Akita.
Akita is an update of Fatima. Here’s an article on the many connections between the two http://www.ncregister.com/blog/jose...-our-lady-gave-dire-warnings-on-todays-crisis
"Update of Fatima" is an interesting way to put it, Blizzard. For a long time I didn't take much notice (or probably didn't want to take much notice) of the message of Akita because it seemed so dire. It is beginning to seem more and more relevant and believable in these times, though.
