We also have to consider that there might be greater amounts of evil released at times now than ever before. Two weeks I came across a very credible warning that as the Month of May began to use extra holy water as there was an expected increase in demons and their attacks.
Perhaps the Archbishop doesn't have a whole lot of influence. It is possible that the "Catholic Spring" wasn't just a US thing. Have a look at the weekly bulletin of the Jesuit run parish in Dublin, note what they prioritise and note their plans for all parishes in the Archdiocese: https://gardinerstparish.ie/weekly-bulletin-12th-may-2019/ Anyway, perhaps it's no harm to take Communion preparation out of the schools, putting an end to the Sacrament conveyor belt. At least if parents have to bring their children to Catechism classes before they receive the Sacraments it will remove the attitude of entitlement and children from practising Catholic families will form friendships and support groups outside the school. That said, if the Catechism classes will be taught by people trained by those Jesuits, we could be jumping from the frying pan into the fire.
From what I understood he expects preparation for sacraments to be done at home. From what I observe most young parents are overwhelmed with mortgage's. Both parents work and live a threadmill existence The faith formation they received was not good so they are not well equipped to teach religious instruction. The only faith formation children receive is in school. If this is taken many children will be left with nothing. My grandson received his first communion last weekend together with 38 other children. They were well prepared by the teachers. I pray for the parents that they will rekindle their own faith.
It will be disastrous if the only preparation they receive is from their parents. Hard to believe that he doesn't have a plan for some kind of support and back-up with an assessment of whether the children are properly prepared before they are given the Sacraments. Perhaps the catechesis is better in provincial schools than in Dublin where there are more non-Catholic children in the schools. And the number of non-Christians is likely to increase when the Catholic schools are obliged to take all comers while other religious denominations are permitted to give priority to children of their own faith.
My understanding is that preparation for the sacraments would be done at Parish level, with support from the parents, like it is done in every other country in the world. I am in favour of this because I think it's crazy to leave it to teachers, many/most of whom (especially the younger ones) do not practice the faith and are not properly catechised themselves, to prepare children for the sacraments. The parents having little to no input results in sacramental preparation being seen as a school thing that has nothing to do with the family apart from providing a day out. Maryrose, I'm glad to hear your grandson was well prepared by the teachers but from my own experience, preparation from school has been shockingly poor. (Holy bread, etc.)
On the thread “I call because the time of mercy is ending- Fr Adam” Blizzard posted some info about recent words of knowledge received in Poland On May 5 of this year a powerful demon was released from hell. Please read the whole thread ( it’s short) and see how you interpret it. I’m taking it very seriously. It seems to me that as time has gone on , the darkness has deepened incrementally, in stages. The old hymn, Abide with Me: The darkness deepens, Lord, abide with me.
My concern is really for the children coming from cultural Catholic homes. If the instruction is removed from the school they will have nothing. Maybe the diocese should send religious instruction teachers into the schools to teach the faith. If the school has no ethos or religious instruction the state will fill the vacuum with more diabolical RSE programs.
Yes, Father Adam is just one prophet among many who have and are echoing a chorus of admonishments for our time to prepare. It was no different after the first 2000 years of human history when God sent Noah to prepare for his purification, but no one listened. The world was purified by water. 2000 years later, God sent his son to offer purification by his blood, but few accepted it. Now the 3rd 2000 years of history, this time the world will be purified by natural disasters, war, the Antichrist and finally by the purifying fire of the 3 days of darkness and it remains to see how many will take heed to the many prophets of these times and enter into the era of peace long foretold. It is one thing to watch these times enter into the greatest darkness in 6000 years of human history, but Jesus said, as it was in his first coming, so it will be at his second coming. The people of our time are, even with a great deal more of truth available, so wrapped us in the social life, entertainment life, materialistic life and sexual life of perversion that God's truth matter little to them. They will all tell you they believe in God and that is all they seem to think they need to do, to which I say, so did Lucifer, how did it work out for him? Pope Benedict was right in all his many teachings that Relativism is the greatest heresy of our times. The teaching that there is no objective truths. Ears opening going forward will not happen until the purification sets in globally, but so few adults know their faith now, who will teach them and their children? Most will perish if not for the Warning coming and when it does there will be no need for other religions or Christian denominations for all will know the fullness of all truths of God lives only in the Catholic faith. They will need those well educated in the truths of the faith to teach it to those who have not been given it. Yet, even after this illumination of conscience, most will grumble against God when they like the Israelites will start to look back and see how good they head it instead of of keeping their eyes and hearts looking forward to the Era of Peace. Most will take on the mark of the beast. Of over 600,000 Isrealites who left the bondage of the Pharaoh in Egypt, only two were permitted to enter into the promised land, Caleb and Joshua. So it will be into the era of peace. Few will enter into the 7th day of rest or the Era of Peace.
It seems to me that there is no Catholic ethos in Dublin schools other than the schools closing for Christmas and Easter, and some Muslims have complained about that. From what I have heard, even in schools with a good religion teacher, they have to walk on eggshells. The result tends to be that the faith is watered down or counter-cultural teachings omitted and none of the children are properly catechised. If the parents are required to put some effort into the children's religious education, it could help fill the gaps in their own understanding of what the Church teaches. Better that some children be well catechised than all children be poorly catechised.
Any surprise... Other than the fact they checked if there really was an "FFA"? https://www.irishexaminer.com/break...ion-of-pregnancy-at-holles-street-924866.html
I'm surprised the Irish media haven't downplayed this story, considering it's a massive "TOLD YOU SO" for the pro-life campaign. The media and government silenced the stories about similar misdiagnoses during the referendum debates, but now they're all about it. The usual hypocrisy. Apparently the couple in question are absolutely devastated. I hope that their grief will lead them to repentance.
Carol posted this link on the Vatican has Fallen thread: https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/l...lic-ireland-to-churchs-surrender-to-the-world I was always inclined to give Archbishop Martin the benefit of the doubt because being Archbishop of Dublin isn't a walk in the park. I'm not sure what to make of him now especially if it's true that Bishop Schneider's book is banned in the Dublin Archdiocese and Archbishop Martin failed to confirm that he believes in the existence of Hell. God help us.
Who knows. Being "Catholic" can mean anything these days. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Baptism is no longer required.
Actually, after posting this I remembered a dream I had very early in this month of May. It is one of those very vivid dreams which I know there has been some external influence and when I awoke I felt a demonic presence in the room, I was actually quite scared. In the dream I was walking somewhere quite open around me were some tall granite walls, just to set the scene somewhat. Then very quickly out of the blue a scraggy quite dishevelled woman, in her 30s/40s quickly approached me a stabbed me in the stomach. She was clearly far left and quite satanic, I could see that in her eyes. I awoke immediately and right then I still felt its presence it was an evil presence. I quickly said the Memorare to myself, a prayer that time and time again saves me from either attack or temptation, its so powerful. Then very shortly after I was fine, felt protected and returned to sleep. But I have no doubt that there has been an increase in the demonic this month. Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help or sought your intercession, was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly to you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy hear and answer me. Amen
I believe you, Indy. The spike in evil can take many forms. It will be / is different for each country, for each individual even. I'm very grateful for a forum member, RW's call for a Muslim fasting month Rosary - for me, that is one way I can fight evil.
