This is so wrong! What are these clerics thinking? To deny communion to those who kneel before God!
And then they give communion to pro abortion politicians!

9 Therefore God also highly exalted him
    and gave him the name
    that is above every name,
10 so that at the name of Jesus
    every knee should bend,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth
    ,
11 and every tongue should confess
    that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

David, this is the first I’ve seen the faithful being denied, but in my diocese, I’ve been told not to kneel to receive communion. I complied so as to not to cause a scene and to not be denied communion. I was with a group of mothers and our then young children. We were all told not to kneel.
I know of others who were told the same by this same priest. We were all scandalized.
Kneeling to receive is optional to my knowledge.
It’s a insult to Our Lord to refuse communion for kneeling.
Some folks come to receive chewing gum and other legitimate reasons to refuse reception of the Eucharist....kneeling in the presence of Our Lord is not a reason. It’s a scandal. Shame on this bishop.

Yes, shame on him. I felt so sorry for those that were denied communion for kneeling forcing them.to stand to recieve. I was glad to see that one woman stand and walk away. I just hope she wasent walking away from.her faith as well.
If this is allowed to continue its going to make a statement saying that its more important to do as preist says than recieving Jesus. Whats next? Standing one one foot to be able to recieve!

The woman who walked away looked as if she were about to cry.

Where oh where is love in an action like this? Why are these people being treated like pharisees, as if receiving on your knees is an outward display of piety for the admiration of men. The men who do things like this should be asked to explain these actions.
In catechism we were instructed to receive communion standing and on the tongue. Both priest and deacon gave off an attitude that those who wish to receive kneeling are an annoyance (but they added that it was OK) and this was clear to all of us.
I have noticed that the alter boys who always received communion kneeling in the past are now regularly receiving standing also.

WATCH: Chilean bishop denies Communion to faithful kneeling to receive
catholic, celestino aós, communion, holy communion

April 26, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – A bishop appointed last month by Pope Francis as interim leader of Chile’s largest diocese refused Holy Communion to Catholics kneeling to receive at the Chrism Mass.

A video released by the Archdiocese of Santiago de Chile, and excerpted by Gloria.TV, shows Bishop Celestino Aós denying Communion to several of the faithful who approached and knelt to receive the sacrament during the April 18 Chrism Mass at the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.

Pope Francis named Bishop Aós, the ordinary of Copiapó, as apostolic administrator for the chief diocese of Chile after Chilean Cardinal Ricardo Ezzati resigned following accusations of abuse cover-up. Aós himself is accused of mishandling complaints.

The video shows a woman kneeling to receive from Aós as he extends the Blessed Sacrament before her while refusing to bring the host to her level. She responds by rising and receiving Communion on the tongue while standing. It appears as if Aós is speaking to her as she listens.

The video then cuts to a man kneeling down to receive Communion from Aós, who likewise declines to give him the Eucharist. It’s not clear if Aós speaks to the man, though the man speaks briefly to Aós, possibly as though in response to him. The man remains kneeling.

Aós then reaches over the man as he kneels there to give Communion to someone else, who will receive in the hand. The man does not receive Communion from the Bishop.

Then a young woman is shown approaching and kneeling down to receive. After Aós does not give her Communion, she rises and moves away, and Aós immediately gives Communion to the person behind the young woman in line, who is standing.

The Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments stated in its 2004 instruction "Redemptionis Sacramentum" that Catholics may receive Holy Communion while kneeling and should never be denied on that ground.

"In distributing Holy Communion it is to be remembered that 'sacred ministers may not deny the sacraments to those who seek them in a reasonable manner, are rightly disposed, and are not prohibited by law from receiving them.' Hence any baptized Catholic who is not prevented by law must be admitted to Holy Communion. Therefore, it is not licit to deny Holy Communion to any of Christ's faithful solely on the grounds, for example, that the person wishes to receive the Eucharist kneeling or standing."

Francis appointed Aós in March after accepting the resignation of Ricardo Ezzati Andrello, cardinal archbishop of Santiago.

Ezzati, 77, is over the standard age when bishops submit their resignation to the pope. However he has also been implicated in cover-up of abuse committed by Father Oscar Muñoz Toledo, the former chancellor of the Archdiocese of Santiago. Muñoz has seven alleged victims, five of them his own nephews.

Among Aós’ prior responsibilities in Chile, he served as promoter of justice for the ecclesiastical tribunal of Valparaiso, where he investigated abuse complaints against five priests made by former seminarians in 2012.

Aós investigated the cases for three months before dismissing them on the basis that “there wasn’t enough evidence to merit opening a canonical process.” One of the priests under investigation died in 2016, but the others have since either been suspended from the priesthood or are under investigation again – leaving some to take issue with Aós’ handling of the complaints.

Ezzati was present for the Chrism Mass, Crux reports, one of several bishops being investigated for either abuse or cover-up in Chile who showed up at Holy Week liturgies.

Some of the accused bishops were discreet about there Holy Week appearances the Crux report said, while others were concelebrants to the apostolic administrators Francis has appointed to replace them.

Perhaps the Bishop is unwell? (I'm trying to be kind) .

At least it was good to see so many having the courage to kneel. So few do this here. I would like to kneel myself but am a little shy. It is hard to go against the tide.

Lay people need to get organised -- hit them in the pocket -- refuse to give money to diocesan funds until he recants!!

I felt like crying myself watching that. Its been bothering me all day. How pompous can one be to actually deny Jesus to a willing soul? It still astounds me.
This is what I remember well. Now what was wrong with this?

Good thing I'm not the pope now! I'd have that bishop giving out communion on his knees. Still so mad at that.

I always genuflect before receiving. Would rather stay kneeling, but we have no kneelers.

Not a single thing. These days in the US to find a parish that offers confession before each mass (even during the week) and a communion rail for receiving the Eucharist you pretty much have to find an FSSP TLM parish.
    Fortunately they are growing.

The most important time to kneel as you recieve Jesus in your heart. And they take that opportunity away? Makes no.common sense to me. Maybe its just me, I dont know.

All men are called to acknowledge the Lord's rule in our lives by kneeling before Him in worship:

Psa. 95:6 Come, let us worship and bow down,
Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker.

And so Jesus was kneeling in submission to the Father's authority. Jesus is described in Luke as kneeling when He sought the Father's permission to avoid the cross. Consider Jesus' words as He prayed:

Luke 22:39 And He came out and proceeded as was His custom to the Mount of Olives; and the disciples also followed Him.
Luke 22:40 When He arrived at the place, He said to them, “ Pray that you may not enter into temptation.”
Luke 22:41 And He withdrew from them about a stone’s throw, and He knelt down and began to pray,
Luke 22:42 saying, “Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done.”

Note that Jesus' request to the Father was that Jesus be allowed to avoid the cross, and Jesus prayed in a posture of submission to the Father's authority. While it's likely that Jesus knelt at other times as well, this particular moment was crucial, since it demonstrated both the extent of Jesus' suffering and His willingness to submit to the Father's authority.

Jesus taught that we pray the Father's will be done, and in this moment we see evidence that Jesus prayed this way as well. Clearly, Jesus wished to avoid the pain of the cross, but He submitted to the will of the Father, and His kneeling demonstrated that submission.

Yes most holy. Thats just how it was. Everything said and done was in revrance to God. Thr church lost more than they know when they changed everything. Seems it even changed the priests themselves. They lost something they used to have also. There never would have been a priest or bishop.to deny serving communion like that. They would have chosen.death befofe that.
