Our Lady sums up the current state of the world - may hearts are attracted to sin and perdition. Many are on the road to perdition because they are attracted to the trinkets and baubles of this life. Self-denial, prayer, fasting helps us see beyond the bright neon lights with its seductive but poisonous charms. Our modern civilization has been built upon false foundations of hedonism, individualism and materialism - celebrity culture and trashy entertainments will never satisfy the soul but the lure of these false idols is too much for many. In many ways this is a prodigal generation which has cut the umbilical cord to the Father and is feeding off the husks of the swine that will never satisfy. Only the Word of God can satisfy the human soul. Our Blessed Lord 'What good if a man were to gain the whole world yet to lose his soul'?
In mid-November, Medjugorje visionary Ivan Dragicevic will have four apparitions of the Virgin Mary in Lebanon. A Cardinal, an Archbishop and two Bishops preside over the events. The visit comes at a time when political stability is lacking and Lebanon houses 100,000 Syrian refugees.
Well for about two weeks now I have felt the strongest prayerful urging to step up my fasting. I am reviewing this and thinking of a way of doing more without cracking up. I have found that doing a little small step at a time is the way to go. Its thinking up the small step is the problem. Anyway I stepped on the scales the other day and found to my delight I have lost 22 pounds since Easter..which has to be good. I LOVE loosing weight. Also there is just so much joy and happiness in fasting. The devil is indeed so active, never since Chirst died on the Cross, I believe have so many demons gotten out of hell. I went to Church the other morning and I just felt the most overwhelming temptations against Faith itself. They sent me reeling. You really can't beat the devil for cunning, Our Lady is so right.
Padraig. You need to know that video is NOT of a statue in Medjugorje itself, even though above the video it says it is. Someone else will verify this, as we were talking about this video on another thread recently. Cheers!

If it were Jane, you would say it was trickery anyway. Those who don't want to believe won't believe regardless. I think the whole idea of the visionaries at Medjugorje is that they are normal people which gives us great hope. Others have been so holy that it would make us think we didn't stand a chance of being heard by God. God allows different things in different times according to how the people are and where they are at spiritually. He is indeed very merciful with this generation through all we have inherited. That includes not being taught how to pray etc.. If you read right the way throughout scripture, you can clearly see that God allows for different things, even weakness. You want to look at King David... oh my gosh.......... He commited adultury and then sent the woman's husband out to a really dangerous war in the thick of it where he knew that he would be killed!!! Admittedly, he lost his blessing. Abraham... read his story!!! Him and his wife did a terrible thing. Now, today we have Christ and we know exactly how to be, and yes, I take a look at how visionaries dress etc, some are weak, we all are, Ivan likes to look nice, but one of us here might have a penchant for nice things in the home, another for money, another respect, another to rise to the top in their job. None of us are free from temptation. They always state that they too have to work on their conversion. Vicka had her third back operation, (you know how painful that is?) indescribable! She then went on to talk to people and visit another Country whilst she was in agony. I was impressed.
I take a little offence to this. I would not have called it trickery. I really looked at that video and started thinking, when it was said to be in Medj. By the way. I have read the whole bible.
Small steps is the way to go. I am finding it hard to fast at the moment as work is so demanding that it is taking a lot out of me so my energy levels dip real low when I fast - so I have cut down the size of my lunch instead. I think the devil has sent his hordes to attack true believers at this time - we are all within his radar - he knows our weaknesses and foibles and he will use any trick to get at us. He can even use discussions on this forum to divide us. He especially can deceive us if there is pride in our lives. But he cannot touch humility because he does not understand it. Humility and childlike trust are beyond his comprehension.
Yes he seems a wonderful man a real light in his home town and community. Gail knows him well. He is out in Medugorje right now on a parish pigrimage. Did you listen carefully to his wife's dream right at the end? Its worth praying voer, very moving..and her conversion too , of course. Wonderful. Gail will maybe see this and post a bit more on this inspirational guy.

Sorry Jane, I didn't mean for you to take offence, but when I told you that I saw the light (along with a few others) that Our Lady came in, you thought that was trickery or something else, this is why I thought this.
I tasted those tears which came from Christ's knee and they were salty. I got others to taste them too.
Hi Padraig, Yes it is, in fact the university´s complete name is ( Catholic University of Honduras our lady Queen of Peace) refers to our lady of Medjugorje. You can see the Oct. 25 Medjugorje message on the top left corner of their official website. http://www.unicah.edu/ This university belongs to the Catholic Church in Honduras, the Archbishop is Cardinal Oscar Andres Rodriguez Maradiaga.
Imagine a whole University named in reference to an {unapproved) apparition site! That indicates something in itself.
