Good question. We have stories from the saints where He acts in profound and powerful ways. We are short on saints.
I think the words I think of for the hospital series, New Amsterdam' is touchy feelly. t is so very,very touchy feelly is becomes embarrassing. There is something about men crying all the time that makes me want to cringe. But maybe that is just me. I have found since my conversion I am inclined to cry a little more. But I think that is because i am a lot more in touch with my emotions. I have to say most often when I cry it is tears of joy, I never ever cried tears of joy before my conversion. I don;t think tears of joy woudl ever, ever be a bad thing. Tears of Joy are tears of gold. But the centre of the Catholic understanding of the person spiritually is the Will, not the emotions. We Will to choose God and follow His laws We will to love or not to love. The central symbol of our Catholic Faith is the Cross. Like Jesus we die with Him that we might live with Him. We must pick up our Cross and follow Him as he requested. Like St Bernadette we are only ever promised happiness in the world to come , we are none of us promised happiness in this present existence. The happiness of this world comes and goes like a passing warm breeze. But the true happiness lies in doing the Will of the Eternal Father and this is a type of deep down happiness and Peace that the world will never ever know. But the way of the Cross is a complete Sign of Contradiction to those who embrace the Lord of this Present age and the teachings of the False Prophet who is currently enthroned. The way of the False Prophet is one of roses and gold , easy and full of comfort down which the poor people run in their multitudes to the fires and the worm that never die. The True Path to Heaven goes steeply upwards though thorns and many rocks and few there are in our present age who choose to take it. It's Sign Post is the Cross of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. As Our Lady told the child Lucia at Fatima, few in this present age will see the Face of God. They run to hell, they race there laughing and uncaring and many, many priests and Bishops lead them. If this was true way back in 1917 it is a hundred times more true today.
The Primary End Game aim of the False Prophet is the removal of the mass. To cease its celebration. If you think this sounds too fantastic look at the proposals at the current Synod of the Amazon. They intend to replace the Bread in the Eucharist with something else.....Yucca a native plant! gasp...shock..horror..but that's what these awful people are up to. (Pope Francis called this Synod himself because of a 'Crisis in the Ecology in the Region'..and so the Bread of the Eucharist, instituted by Christ Himself, is to be replaced by the Native Yucca). There are many Priests with the gift of healing, but some do not use the gift God has given them. I have a Priest friend who is a healing Priest - his name is Fr. Jose Maniyat. He lives in Florida and you can find his incredible story on the Internet - for those who are interested. I have known him for years - he healed my niece of cancer years ago and she is still cancer free - thanks be to God. We must pray for all those God has chosen (Priests and Lay people) for this ministry to come forward and help those in need. So many are in dire need of healing - both physically and spiritually.
Our Lord gives many people the Gift of tears. Many times just the thought of Him brings one to tears. Perhaps God has given you this Gift to offer your tears back to Him in reparation for those who are far from Him.
This reminds me of an old Legend, Lynn. That our Guardian Angels stand beside us and gather all our tears which they will present to God at our Final Judgement. Psalm 56:8 You have taken account of my wanderings; Put my tears in Your bottle Are they not in Your book?

I have long thought about this too. From the inception of the Church up until Padre Pio died we had an unbroken string of great Saints whose lives were filled with miracles. Where did they all go? Why did the well dry up? I am convinced that it is because they changed the Mass. The Mass is the greatest source of Grace for the world. Whatever happened spiritually when they did that seems to have derailed everything. Padre Pio died in 1968. The New Mass was introduced in 1969. Since then the last of the great miracle working saints disappeared and we have had no new ones since. I don't think this is coincidence.
I agree. And Our Lady told St Catherine Laboure that an unworthy priest still says a valid Mass but the Grace's are not the same.
One of my great hobbies is to look at people, The Faithful at mass, most especially at Daily Mass. If there is a place to see living saints I am convinced it is there. Most especially in these grave times where the World and even the Holy Church is plunged into darkness; for there were the night lies darkest the light will shine forth all the more intensely. Pope Pius xii was one time asked by a priest if he thought there were any saints living in Rome at that time. He walked to a window in the Papal Appartments and stared outwards in silence for a long while. Then he turned to the priest and said, 'In every street'. For myself I am convinced I have rarely been at a mass without being convinced a Catholic Saint was somewhere present. Only a few days ago I attended mass in a little country town and watched the face of a woman whom I had never seen before and it seemed to me it was on fire; as though she had the face of an angel. This morning I read an essay before mass by a Polish. A subject that must have been very close to his heart as he spent most of life in a Soviet Prison and from the outside his life must have seemed an utter failure. But the Father points out that for the Christian there is never failure; just apparent failure. For we rest , not on our own efforts but on Christ's grace and His promises and Christ has promised us the victory. A river that flows below the ground unseen and unheard is no less a river for being hidden. I am convinced that we have more and greater saints than we have ever had in the entire history of the Church. If God keeps them hidden in the depths of His Merciful love they are no less Saints than for being so. No less than Fr Ciszek was a saint for being hidden in a Soviet Gulag. If anyone wants to see saints and meet them, go to daily mass and look around with open heart and eyes. Any Catholic Church in the world. There you will meets crowds of them. Hidden ; but always, always there.

I think there are many good and holy people, but I do not think we have any "rock-star" Saints alive today like we used to. Saints who could heal, bi-locate, read a person's heart in confession and tell them what they are thinking, appear mystically before Popes, etc. Padre Pio was known all over the world for these things. Every century since Christ has had many men and women like this except today. Something is off.
Yes thank you for these thoughts. I just thought of those little boys murdered by ISIS a few years ago. They were told if they gave up their faith and kissed the Koran they could live. They answered that they loved Yeshua and could never leave Him. Then they cried out "Yeshua is with us!" And their throats were cut. Martyrs as holy and triumphant as first century martyrs. They were 10 years old. Imagine.
Fr Ciszek is a great favorite of mine. He Leadeth Me is a powerful spiritual book. I read it first in the late 70's. Just reread it two years ago. So so anointed.
A fire is still a fire even if it does not shoot sparks. A heart is still a heart even if we do not see it beating. There are saints even on this forum. It is not the miracles that make a saint. Only the miracle of a loving heart. The miracle of love. (just like the song). What miracles did Our Lady ever work? Yet she is still Mother of God and Queen of Saints and Angels.
