TODAY IN GARABANDAL HISTORY: Feb. 12, 2007 In April 2007, Joey Lomangino, received from Conchita a letter, dated February 12, 2007, she had herself received from Archbishop Carlos Sierra of Oviedo, then the acting Apostolic Administrator for the Diocese of Santander, which read: “I want you to know that I am open to receiving and considering all information about Garabandal, and would like to continue—as long as our Holy Father wishes me to serve as Apostolic Administrator—the work that my brothers at the Bishopric have already done in reference to this subject. What I have just done is authorize the priests to go to Garabandal and hold Holy Mass at the Parish, at any desired time, and to administer the Sacrament of Reconciliation to anyone that wishes to receive it. I am sure the next Bishop will promote further studies to examine in depth the Garabandal events and will send the findings to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in Rome. I respect apparitions and have known of authentic conversions. How can we not always feel the need to open our heart to our Mother Mary to tell her that we need her protection, her help, her courage, her hope, her faith and her love when faced with these events! I encourage you to keep maintaining such devotion toward our Mother”

TODAY IN GARABANDAL HISTORY: FEBRUARY 13, 1966: CHRIST'S FINAL AND VERY REMARKABLE LOCUTION TO CONCHITA Back from Rome, Conchita faced a decisive moment. She knew she would again never see the Blessed Virgin at Garabandal. There was now the matter of her vocation . . . On February 7, her own birthday, Conchita was the perfect image of trust. She was leaving her village to go to the College of the Discalced Missionary Carmelites, at Pamplona. She was seventeen years old and wanted to become a postulant, then a novice in the Congregation, hoping that she would someday work among the Africans . . . But behold that, in a second and last locution from Christ, hardly a week after her arrival at Pamplona, Conchita learned, among other things, that the Lord was not calling her to be a religious sister . . . The text of this last "charismatic event" of Garabandal is so rich in meaning that it can only be reproduced here, its obvious spiritual content for one, needing no comment: "On Sunday, February 13, 1966, at the moment of thanksgiving after Communion, I received both a great joy and a yet greater distress, as well as a disappointment! I heard the voice of Christ telling me: "Conchita, you came here to the college to prepare yourself to become My bride and, as you say, to follow Me. Are you not saying, Conchita, that you do not want to do My will? Well, now, it is your will that you want to fulfill. Do you want to do like this all your life? I chose you in the world so that you may stay in it, so that you may face the many vexations that you will find there for My sake. I want all that for your sanctification, and so that you may offer this for the salvation of the world. You must speak to the world about Mary. "Conchita, did you feel My call to become My bride? No! Because I did not call you." I asked Him: "And how does one feel Your call to become a religious?" He told me: "Don't worry about that, you will not feel it." I asked Him: "Then You do not love me, Jesus?" He replied: "Conchita, you ask me that? Who redeemed you? Fulfill My will and you will find My love. Examine yourself well. Think more of others. Do not fear temptations. If you are faithful to My love, you will overcome the many temptations awaiting you. Be intelligent, understand what I told you in a spiritual way. Do not close the eyes of your soul. Do not let anyone deceive you. Love humility, simplicity. Never think that what you are doing is great. Think of what you have to do, of what you must do, not to merit Heaven, but to save the world so that it may fulfill My divine will. Every soul that prepares itself, every soul well disposed to hear Me, will know My will. Conchita, I wish to tell you that you will suffer a great deal from now on until the Miracle, for few will believe you. Even your family will think you deceived them. I am the One who has wanted all that. I told you so, for your sanctification and for the world to fulfill the Message. I want to warn you that the remainder of your life will be a continual suffering." "Do not be afraid. You will find Me in suffering, Me and Mary, whom you love so much." I asked Him if in Rome also I would not be believed and He did not answer me. Then He told me: "Do not worry about whether or not you are believed. Glenn, Back in mid-January, I realized that I missed an email sent to me by Mr. Pezo which was sent on 12/29 and I immediately replied to it at that time. I just sent another email to him yesterday to offer help. Thank you for the reminder.

Thank you also. *** I was speaking to a friend last week who has followed the apparitions of Our Lady of Garabandal for years and she said that she wished that the movie was made after the Warning and the Miracle so those events would be included in the movie and I agreed that this would be great and that they may want to make a sequel to the movie. This morning I woke up thinking about this and I thought that they would of course need new actors to play all of the roles since so many years have passed until the time of the Warning and the Miracle. I thought of the movie The Miracle of Our Lady of Fatima and how the Miracle of the Sun occurred a few months after the first apparition of Our Blessed Mother in Fatima and therefore the Miracle of the Sun was included in the movie. Then I thought of what the Our Lady of Garabandal told the seers in regard to the Miracle, that it would be televised and I realized that a sequel wouldn't really be needed but actual footage from the Miracle along with news footage from the Warning and the Miracle could be added to the end of the movie and then the movie could be redistributed around the world. I wondered if this is what will, in fact, happen and if the Blessed Mother was instrumental in this. I believe that she was. I am really looking forward to seeing the movie and of course, for the prophecies to come to fruition.

We provoke the wrath of God upon ourselves by our own rebellion, our own disobedience, our own self-will. All evil consists in trying to follow our own ways, instead of seeking the ways of God. Our ways are very easy to follow; it suffices to allow ourselves to be led. But ours are ways of sin — and not only the sin of the world that so many new books now propose — and they lead us to destruction. On the other hand, the ways of God, how difficult they can be at times! His are the ways of triumph and salvation; but they can only be traveled thru effort and sacrifice: two things that our weakened nature abhors. The world — men prone to serve the flesh — inclines to ease and not to combat, to pleasure and not to service, to leisure and not to work, to the good life and not to good living. This manner of living — spread throughout the Church — is inflicting mortal wounds. Pseudo-prophets, with their distorted nuances ranting about renewal and liberation, are attempting to discredit the ascetic and penitential way of life, as though asceticism were not an evangelical sign, but the despised remnant of a naive and misled monastic spirituality unworthy of esteem. Self sacrifice? Self denial? Self renunciation? How absurd! Neither the clergy nor the laity want any of this. Anti-asceticism is the order of the day. But for whom did Jesus say, If anyone wishes to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross? (Mt. 16: 24)Certainly this is not for those who never mention Him except to speak about self-determination, self-fulfillment, self-advancement . . . Thus many things explain themselves. How could a person like this accept the message of June 18th that insistently requests things that they themselves are trying at all costs to renounce? — You should sacrifice yourself more. — Think of the Passion of Jesus. The Passion of Jesus! They are not interested in this. They are only interested in talking of things more to the liking of theman of today. For them the only things that matter are actions and words favorable to their self-expression and lifestyle, which is far removed from, He made Himself obedient to death, the death of the cross! [How much some would like to efface one of the principal declarations of teh Gospe: Enter by the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many there are who enter that way. How small the gate and narrow the way that leads to life! And few there are who find it.
