Why the late hour visitations ? When the children were asked why the Virgin came at such late hours, they answered that the Virgin told them that it was at that time most of the sins of the world were committed and that they should do penance... And for them it was a penance, and not the smallest, to stay up until the Virgin came to visit them, late in the night, or very early in the morning. They performed this penance because the Virgin wanted it and also because they wanted to see her again.
The Blessed Mother speaks of Abortion at Garabandal Among the fulfilled prophecies of Garabandal was one that only came to light with the publication of a German book [Garabandal — Der Zeigefinger Gottes.] on Garabandal in 1992. The author, Albrecht Weber, was in Garabandal on the day after Conchita's last apparition at Garabandal on November 13,1965, and had a long conversation with the visionary. The following excerpt from his book deals with some of what the visionary told him: She [Conchita] spoke quite openly about the developments by which men in the near future would rebel against God. On the day after Our Lady's last appearance at Garabandal, Conchita asked the author, "Can you imagine how somebody could kill children in the womb without thereby killing the mother?" The author spontaneously answered, "No! What gave you that idea, Conchita?" "Well, the Blessed Mother spoke about this and she let me know that this will happen with the overflowing of the chalice." [In her second Message of June 18,1965, the Virgin said, "Before, the cup was filling up. Now it is flowing over."] Conchita said this tremblingly without being able to visualize what it really implied. She said further that it disturbed her very much but that she felt ridiculous because she hadn't understood at all how this killing could be effected. The Blessed Virgin had not explained it to her and up until that moment, nobody had been able to make her understand it at all. Conchita would learn soon enough when abortion became legalized, even in her native country. The Blessed Virgin had spoken about this unfortunate practice to the visionary, in terms that had left her stunned. Indeed, at the time, Conchita did not understand "how it was possible to kill a child in his (or hers) mother's womb without killing the mother at the same time . . .!" FEBRUARY 1963 Joey Lomangino was born on June 27, 1931, in Brooklyn, NY (U.S.A.) from Italian-American parents. He was the eldest of five boys and one girl. In 1947, while he was watching a truck tire being inflated, it exploded and Joey was hit by the rim in his face. The bones of the forehead were crushed, the optic and olfactory nerves were severed. He was in a coma for three weeks before he woke up . . . on the 16th of July (Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel) ! In 1961, he traveled to Italy and met St. Padre Pio for the first time, at the monastery of San Giovanni Rotondo. Although they had never met, the famous Capuchin greeted the American with these words: "Ah, Joey, how happy I am to see you!" February 1963, Joey made another trip to Italy. He went back to see Padre Pio, who heard his confession and . . . miraculously restored the use of his olfactory sense . . . while the nerve still remains severed! Joey tells the story : "when I knelt down to receive Padre Pio’s blessing, and got the fragrance of roses that came from the wounds in his hands, I was startled and went against the wall with my arms up to protect myself; I didn’t know what it was. Padre Pio pulled down my hand and said in Italian, “Joey, don’t be afraid.” He then touched me on the bridge of my nose and my sense of smell was restored to me after being without it from the day of my accident in June 1947, which was 16 years." Joey asked Padre Pio if the Virgin was appearing in Garabandal ,and was it true. Padre Pio would encouraged him to go to San Sebastian de Garabandal, after he had assured him very clearly that, "Yes, it is true, the Blessed Virgin is appearing at Garabandal!" Joey was far from being the only one to whom the great Italian stigmatist would confirm the authenticity of the apparitions: in addition to Conchita herself, may we mention, among others, Frs. Pel and Marcelino Maria Andreu, Padre Gustavo Morelos ( from Mexico), Mr. John Haffert (then President of the "Blue Army" of Fatima), Miss Eloisa Deguia. When Joey returned to NY, he started spreading the news of apparitions of the Blessed Mother in Garabandal. [From 'Garabandal' Book, pages 166-167
I arrived in NYC! Does anyone have an extra ticket for the showing tonight. Arrived at the St. Mother Cabrini Shrine this morning.
February 2, 1962 Reverend Father Andreu: I am going to tell you about the impressions of my last trip to Garabandal on January 27th. For this date, the Marquis of Santa María had already given more facts. He told me that he would see you on the next day. The event that caught my attention is that after 7 consecutive months of “marvelous ecstasies,” the four girls continue with the utmost normality, although many people “who don’t see” maintain that this is the result of a pathology. The girls continue their ecstasies the same as always, running through the streets of the village praying, with this precious transformation on their faces and movements that seem to be images. On the afternoon of the 28th, with the difference of approximately 10 minutes from one to the other, María Dolores and Conchita had ecstasies in their houses and left directly for the Church. When they met each other, they were very happy and they ran through the streets of the village singing the rosary. They visited the houses of the sick where they prayed and gave the crucifix to be kissed. It made a great impression on me when they visited a sick old man (uncle Leoncio) who was blind, deranged, had the flu, and was in agony. They knelt at the head of his bed, praying Hail Marys without interruption, and everyone answered except the dying man. After 15 or 16 prayers, the sick man responded with ‘Holy Mary’ in a clear voice and added: “I pray because I have faith.” In this moment, they put the statue of Christ to his lips, and he kissed it. The girls had expressions of immense enjoyment. They returned to the normal state after approximately 2 and a quarter hours. At ten at night we thought we’d return, and it took half an tour for us to leave. We realized that María Cruz was running through the streets of the village in ecstasy accompanied by her parents. We united with a group and prayed with them. These are the facts of what happened on the 28th in Garabandal. Respectful greeting from my wife—she tells what this good friend always offers. I salute you affectionately. C. Ortiz I will be off for the next week ( taking a much needed vacation ) . I'll post next week upon my return.
So I saw it today myself. It’s was fantastic. Not one thing was in error. The amateur actors were amazing. Out Blessed Mother was truly behind the making of this movie-the First Of it’s kind-and last chance for Garabandal to be made known to the world! My 2:40 pm showing in Times Square had around 25-30 people incl my Mom And I. I was told by a theater worker that one of the showings yesterday was “packed” Lastly, & incredibly as I was exiting the theater I met a man (Fernando) and his Family. We naturally asked “how did we come to know about Garabandal?” He is from the Village and was 3 during the events. His daughter advised she knows Conchita and has been with her often Simply Incredible. Times Square is truly the Center of the world! God Bless Fernando & his family. Peace!
I saw the 10:40 fell asleep 3/4 through the movie lol. I guess it really was peaceful. The usher woke me up at 1 or a little bit before then.
Dude! Seriously? Then you need to go to one of the early afternoon shows TODAY!!! and about an hour before the film starts get yourself a vendi Cafe Americano with a dash of vanilla syrup, some cinnamon, and half-and-half to suit. (You can skip the cinnamon if you want to, heathen.) Finish it up at least half an hour before the show begins, have some water to counteract the diuretic effect of caffeine, and hit the men's room during the previews so you don't have use the loo during the film. THEN come back and post how you thought it was "peaceful". Some explanations of terms for our mixed nationality audience: "Half-and-half" is a product available in America (can't speak for Canada, eh?) that's a mixture of half light cream and half whole milk. It's been homogenized to keep it from separating , it's MUCH less expensive than light cream, and is used either as a substitute for light cream (as opposed to heavy (whipping) cream) in cooking, or more frequently as a creamer for tee or coffee. I understand that public toilet facilities in the UK are frequently called "cloak rooms". A cloak room in America is where people go to check their coats and outerwear. We would call it simply the "men's room" or "women's room". This has stayed with me through the decades due to a comment made by a British comedian about the first time he was at an American restaurant. He asked the person doing the seating where to find the men's cloak room. He was told, "We have only one cloak room for both men and women," to which the comedian replied, "Well, THAT'S very democratic of you!" "Loo" can be defined by context. If you can't figure it out go ask your mum. I forgot to mention that if you fell asleep during the last part of the film, then you missed the chase scene where the seers were fleeing the Freemasons (some of them religious) who were trying to capture them and silence the message. They managed to escape through a (dare I say it) miraculous means which actually had been set up early on in the film, so you can believe it's miraculous or not. Only God Knows.
Well, Glen, I can save you the time. Some of it is verbatim stories about the apparitions, some of it is him reminiscing about his past life, how he became personally involved in Garabandal, and left the seminary, some of it is conversations he has had with others about this. Nothing to see here and I doubt you will endorse it because of the personal stories. I personally am tired of websites and people who tell us what is already known and then put their spin on it. If people would just focus on what Our Lady said and follow through, as Conchita has, they would be better off.
I did the best I could on almost no cash, fasting all week, etc. I came up from Boston as well and had no place to sleep. Sometimes we make the best with what we have.
Then, sir, you did good. My apologies for my teasing. (But when it comes to Boston, you really do need to go see it again, if only to watch the chase scene... )
I am in philly suburbs and cant travel right now. Im praying i get to see it. Yesterday in spiritdaily there was an article about it and it stated about joey dying so that was a lie they stated. Then went on to speak of dear Father who is currupt at the moment. Everyone in comments on fb saying liars liars. It is stated that father would be incorrupt the day after the miracle. But i felt i was in the middle of a war and the one woman sounded just like the woman from this forum who was so rude about garabandal. Her words were exactly written just like her statements in here.. Poor conchita . what hatred i felt was thrown at her. Im very sensitive right now because i am physically weak but i ended up crying all day. The devil hates garabandal because it is real!!! God bless all especially u glen!
