The pretence that Satanists don't worship Satan but use his name as a metaphor for the worship of knowledge and the acknowledgement of the 'truth' that man is his own master is the 'hook' by which they get people involved and who are then slowly led to the point at which they actually do worship Satan and take part in sacrilegious and foul rites. I recall reading about a man, John, living in London who had a friend who had become involved in Satanism. John had no religious background and thought that his friend's new 'hobby' was amusing and pointless but essentially harmless. His friend introduced him to one of the leaders of the Temple which his friend attended and the three met up in a pub. He saw no harm in doing so and he met a charming, friendly, humorous guy who explained to him that they actually didn't worship anyone or anything except man's capacity to mould a great future for all. John asked why he didn't just join a political party and the leader explained that the Satanists did acknowledge the power of 'collective will' and that they applied this 'force' for each other's wants and needs and it worked. Political parties didn't offer this 'power' which caused good things to happen to those who took part and the Satan thing was just to put a name to this power and irritate the Christian world which was preaching nonsense.

The leader asked if John wanted anything and, of course, he did. He wanted his bosses' job and he wanted a relationship with a woman he knew who seemed immune to his charms. The leader said, if you join us and you don't get those things in three months, then I'm talking nonsense, if you do get those things, you will make various promises but don't be alarmed they are just that you will keep certain things to yourself and promise to look for suitable recruits. There would also be a modest financial commitment but not until the three months had expired when he was free to leave.

John said that he would think about it but it didn't take him long to decide to 'give it a go'. He started to attend those ceremonies to which new 'members' were admitted which certainly seemed like worship to John as they were centered on a statue of Baphomet. After the first such occasion he queried the need to pray to a statue but was told that it was all about solidarity of the group and centering the collective will and was reminded that he was essentially worshiping only the power of men to change the world for the better. His own petitions were mentioned, along with many others at these ceremonies and, within three months he had his bosses' job and the lusted for girl was his devoted lover. He signed up for the next stage, paid his dues and put forward new 'petitions' for the group will to obtain for him, he was also looking out for new members and discreetly trying to draw people in. For this purpose he had been thoughtfully provided with a 'sales script' from which he was never, ever to deviate.

So things went on but John was noticing some strange changes in his routine. When he went to get the train to work or when going out shopping, he never took his usual routes but took new, longer ones and he couldn't really work out why, he just felt unhappy and uncomfortable in some streets and avoided them. He had hoped to have a family one day but had a new and strong aversion to children, especially babies and young infants. He had been a fairly enthusiastic gardener but had suddenly developed a dislike of flowers and uprooted his garden. He didn't connect this with his new found enthusiasm for the 'temple'.

Finally the day came when John was invited to a Saturday afternoon ceremony which he knew was for a chosen few 'adepts' and he was delighted. But, as the day drew near, he became unhappy at the prospect without understanding why. He explained this to the leader who assured him that it was natural to be nervous about something new and that he would laugh at his fears after the meeting. He went very reluctantly.

The meeting started off as normal but then new things were added. It was clear to John that the others were clearly addressing the statue as though it were a person and the new 'prayers' clearly were prayers to a being that the statue represented. He became distressed and made for the door. The leader and several others stopped him and the leader said, 'He wants you to look at him, he knows you and now you have to know him'. He shielded his eyes and refused to look at the statue but the pushed him to the front and finally found that he couldn't resist, he looked up to see the statue moving. I won't describe what he saw which was obscene and truly horrible. He sank to his knees from shock, all the others were looking at him and laughing. He was told, 'We all react like that at first, don't worry, he's accepted your worship, you're his. Now you can have anything that you want'.

The meeting ended and he staggered out. It was sunny, he went to a park opposite the 'temple'. There were mothers pushing babies about and he felt nauseous at the sight, there were flowers and he had to shield his eyes from the sight of them. He fled home by a long roundabout route. He considered his situation and decided never, ever to go back to the 'temple' and the thought occurred to him that if evil were real then so was goodness and rang a CofE minister who agreed to see him urgently. This minister listened patiently but said that what he had done was unwise but harmless and that the sight of the statue moving was merely his imagination and recommended psychiatric help. He contacted another minister who was much more understanding and explained that much prayer and an exorcism would be necessary and arranged for a specialist minister to deal with him. Slowly he was exorcised and things began to return to normal. He eventually realised that the strange routes he had been taking were to avoid the sight of crosses outside churches.

I read this story in a prestigious national UK newspaper, The Times, about 15 years ago. I doubt very much that it would be considered for publication today.

Newly-Released MKUltra Docs: The CIA Made Remote-Controlled Dogs With Brain Surgery

The Central Intelligence Agency made six remote-controlled dogs as a part of their MKULTRA “behavior modification” or mind control program. Using brain surgery, newly requested documents show that the dogs were “field operational” and controlled by human beings.

The CIA marked the 65th anniversary of the launch of Project MKULTRA. And the public is finally getting a more broad and detailed look at just how far those attempting these gruesome experiments were willing to go in order to gain control of our thoughts.

The documents were provided under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) by The Black Vault founder, John Greenewald. According to a report by Newsweek, The Black Vault specializes in declassified government records. In one declassified letter (released as file C00021825) a redacted individual writes to a doctor (whose name has also been redacted) with advice about launching a laboratory for experiments in animal mind control. The writer of the letter is already an expert in the field, whose earlier work had culminated with the creation of six remote control dogs, which could be made to run, turn, and stop.

“As you know, I spent about three years working in the research area of rewarding electrical stimulation of the brain,” the individual writes.

In the laboratory, we performed a number of experiments with rats; in the open field, we employed dogs of several breeds.

As if their mind control experiments on humans were not disturbing enough, the CIA also admits that the goal was to control the behavior of a dog.

“The specific aim of the research program was to examine the possibility of controlling the behavior of a dog, in an open field, by means of remotely triggering electrical stimulation of the brain,” the report states.

“Such a system depends for its effectiveness on two properties of electrical stimulation delivered to certain deep-lying structures of the dog brain: the well-known reward effect, and a tendency for such stimulation to initiate and maintain locomotion in a direction which is accompanied by the continued delivery of stimulation.”

After the surgery to control the mind of a dog, the CIA states that the gruesome side effects could be “infection at the electrode site due to a failure of the surgical wound to heal.” Newsweek reported that after trying out a plastic helmet, government scientists instead settled on the new surgical technique that involved, “embedding the electrode entirely within a mound of dental cement on the skull and running the leads subcutaneously to a point between the shoulder blades, where the leads are brought to the surface and affixed to a standard dog harness.

Once the surgeons implanted the electrodes deep in the subject dog’s brain, a battery pack and stimulator was added to the harness, through which signals could be sent to the electrodes. “The stimulator had to be reliable and capable of sufficient voltage output to be usable in the face of expected impedance variation across individual dogs.”

Another of the documents revealed perhaps even more disturbing new details on the use of experimental mind control drugs on unwilling human beings, suggesting experimenting with the use of such drugs on inmates in prison hospitals and drugging suspected criminals awaiting trial. According to Sputnik News, it gets even worse. Yet another document details experimentation with hypnotic speaking techniques to enable mind control over “large audiences.”

China Is Data Mining DIRECTLY FROM THE BRAINS of Workers
    5 comments
    December 10, 2018

    By Meadow Clark
China is deploying emotional surveillance technology that mines data from the minds of its citizens. Essentially, they’re data mining by reading their brains.

The light-weight sensory helmets have been rolled out on an industrial scale. The mind data-mining and emotional surveillance programs are eerily similar to trends in the United States to monitor and probe the mental health of its citizens through facial recognition.

This past spring, Facebook landed in hot water over a data leak which felt like a major privacy violation to millions of its users.

But China was taking data mining to the next level.
Around the same time, however, China quietly reported that its government is openly fishing data from workers’ minds: making a Facebook leak pale in comparison.

South Morning China Post describes a typical production line at Hangzhou Zhongheng Electric and reports:

[…]the workers wear caps to monitor their brainwaves, data that management then uses to adjust the pace of production and redesign workflows, according to the company.

The company said it could increase the overall efficiency of the workers by manipulating the frequency and length of break times to reduce mental stress.

Hangzhou Zhongheng Electric is just one example of the large-scale application of brain surveillance devices to monitor people’s emotions and other mental activities in the workplace, according to scientists and companies involved in the government-backed projects.

The wireless sensors are concealed under a normal uniform hat and constantly monitor brain waves while sending the data back into main computers that use AI algorithms to detect any unpleasant emotional spikes such as “depression, anxiety or rage.”

In addition, a special camera watches their facial expressions and their body temperatures are monitored. Pressure sensors detect all shifts in body language.

Of course, it’s funded by the government.
Neuro Cap is a central government-funded brain surveillance project at Ningbo University where a lot of the research takes place. It’s been implemented in more than a dozen factories and businesses including train drivers working on the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail line using the technology from Deayea company in Shanghai.

The built-in sensors in the brim of the hats can sound an alarm if the rail driver starts to fall asleep.

The application of this emotional surveillance extends to hospitals and in the military which no one will comment on. Instead of using it on hospital employees, however, it is used to monitor patients in case of a “violent outburst.”

Jin Jia, associate professor of brain science and cognitive psychology at Ningbo University’s business school explains:

When the system issues a warning, the manager asks the worker to take a day off or move to a less critical post. Some jobs require high concentration. There is no room for a mistake.

Of course, she notes the initial fear and suspicion of employees but that after a while “they got used to the device. It looked and felt just like a safety helmet. They wore it all day at work.”

“They thought we could read their mind. This caused some discomfort and resistance in the beginning,” she said.

They probably had this strange idea that they could read their minds because they were literally reading their minds.

The plan is for the technology to be used as a “mental keyboard” where commands from the brains of the wearer are executed by thought.

It’s increasing profits, which means this will spread.
Right now, it is significantly increasing profits and giving China an edge on other markets.

    SCMP states:

The technology is also in use at in Hangzhou at State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power, where it has boosted company profits by about 2 billion yuan (US$315 million) since it was rolled out in 2014, according to Cheng Jingzhou, an official overseeing the company’s emotional surveillance programme.

“There is no doubt about its effect,” Cheng said.

Zhao Binjian, a manger of Ningbo Shenyang Logistics, said the company was using the devices mainly to train new employees. The brain sensors were integrated in virtual reality headsets to simulate different scenarios in the work environment.

“It has significantly reduced the number of mistakes made by our workers,” Zhao said, because of “improved understanding” between the employees and company.

The company estimated the technology had helped it increase revenue by 140 million yuan in the past two years.

While the tech has raised concerns of abuse and calls for regulations, “China has applied it on an unprecedented scale in factories, public transport, state-owned companies, and the military to increase the competitiveness of its manufacturing industry and to maintain social stability,” the report says.

    In fact, it’s already here.
Variations of this tech are here in the United States or coming soon. As Zerohedge points out, Google already has patents with ready-made plans for surveillance in the new smart home, including your children’s bedrooms.

There are already apps intended for the U.S. that monitor mental health behavior in patients.

China is also using their facial recognition to tag jaywalkers so it doesn’t stand to reason that they have spent untold amounts on this technology for the enjoyment of their nation’s individuals.

Facial recognition cameras were recently rolled out in a New York school district. The company making the tech is offering it to a county for free because it’s for the safety of “the children.”

With only one or two cautions, a Psychology Today report extols the virtues of the future of mental health facial tracking, or rather, AI truth tracking and calls it “the end of hiding” as though privacy itself holds a criminal intent:

We’ve always known that faces convey information to others, but now ever-present electronic eyes can watch us with untiring attention and with the training to spot our most fleeting micro-expressions.

As the machines’ learning advances, step by step, we must make or accept tradeoffs, explicitly or implicitly. That’s why it’s worth looking into those electronic eyes, to understand their applications and their social risks and benefits.

    Clearly, there’s potential for abuse.
Qiao Zhian, professor of management psychology at Beijing Normal University, acknowledges that the Chinese brain-mining technology would give a competitive edge to those who deploy it. However, he seems to be the only one quoted in the report who pointed out the obvious Orwellian 1984 vibe going.

Qiao said that the technology could also be abused by companies “to control minds and infringe privacy,” mirroring Big Brother “thought police” – the dreadful law enforcement in 1984 who interrogated and punished people for displaying beliefs out of line with the upper echelon.

“There is no law or regulation to limit the use of this kind of equipment in China. The employer may have a strong incentive to use the technology for higher profit, and the employees are usually in too weak a position to say no,” he said.

The selling of Facebook data is bad enough. Brain surveillance can take privacy abuse to a whole new level.

He adds that there should be urgent legislation to protect workers’ interests and bargaining power. He urges lawmakers to”act now to limit the use of emotion surveillance.” With one last haunting thought, Qiao warned:

The human mind should not be exploited for profit.

Mining data from our minds won’t benefit US personally.
But more than violating the most inner privacy of all to maximize production, our thoughts and feelings shouldn’t be outsourced to AI monitors or read back to a lustful employer. What kind of environment makes it more lucrative to spend millions on tech to monitor thoughts and feelings when a truly free environment would allow individuals to voice any problems and work together to solve them?

Obviously, the Chinese government didn’t go through all that trouble to increase the life benefits for employees there.

  13. Seems there's some type of conspiratorial type mystery reported every day in these times:

Huge Chaff Cloud That Lit Up Radars As It Drifted Across The Midwest Remains A Mystery

Yesterday, meteorologists, and anyone else watching weather radar in southern Illinois, southwestern Indiana, and western Kentucky, noticed an unusual formation drifting through the area. Although evidence remains limited, this was likely a burst of chaff released from a U.S. military aircraft, but there is still no clear explanation as to why the plane released the radar-reflecting countermeasures in this particular area.

At around 3:00 PM Central Time on Dec. 10, 2018, weathermen at local news stations in the area, as well as a National Weather Service (NWS) in Paducah, Kentucky, began tracking the radar "blob" as it dramatically expanded in length and began to move southward. Closer to 2:00 AM Central Time on Dec. 11, 2018, Wayne Hart, the Chief Meteorologist at ABC-affiliate WEHT in Evansville, Indiana, took to Twitter to offer the first real information about the radar reflective plume.

"Information from a pilot appears to confirm that chaff was the mysterious radar echo that traversed #tristatewx late Monday afternoon/evening," Hart Tweeted out. "Pilot was told by EVV [Evansville Regional Airport] Air Traffic Control that chaff was released by a military C130 [sic] northwest of Evansville."

There has been no additional information about what specific service or unit the C-130 might have belonged to or what variant or subvariant it might have been. Hart also did not explain what the purpose of the release might have been beyond telling another Twitter user that it had been related to an unspecified military exercise. We have to stress that this explanation is far from official or corroborated in any tangible way.

The War Zone has reached out to the Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky National Guards as well as the U.S. Air Force seeking confirmation and more information. The Illinois Air National Guard's 182nd Airlift Wing, which does operate C-130s, told us that it only had one aircraft airborne on Dec. 10, 2018, and that it was not carrying chaff at all. At the time of writing, we have not received responses to any of our other queries.

First developed during the Second World War, chaff consists of bundles of radar reflective material, commonly aluminum strips or bundles of metalized glass fibers. These types of material are extremely reflective on radar and as seen in the tracks above, can blind and confuse radars and their operators. The size of the individual strips or strands has a direct impact on what radar bands the chaff affects.

C-130 types do have the ability to fire chaff from their AN/ALE-47countermeasures dispensing system. The aircraft may have also had a launcher mounted on its rear cargo ramp or fitted in either of the two paratrooper doors on either side of the rear fuselage, that is if a C-130 is responsible for this puzzling countermeasures deployment.

During an actual military operation, fighters jets and other combat aircraft would fire chaff defensively to make it difficult for fire control radars or the seekers on radar-guided air-to-air and surface-to-air missiles to track and engage them. Bulk chaff deployments could help conceal the total number of aircraft involved in a mission or their exact direction of movement. During the invasion of Iraq in 2003, ground- and air-launched modified BQM-34 drones dumped chaff along specific corridors to conceal Tomahawk cruise missiles as they flew toward their targets.

Using chaff during exercises is hardly unheard of and rapidly changing environmental factors, including changes in ambient wind speed and direction, means it can often blow off course. For example, in 2011, chaff appeared on weather radar in northeastern Oregon. In 2013 and again in 2016, similar plumes appeared on radar near the Army's Redstone Arsenal in Alabama.

"Threat countermeasure testing conducted at the U.S. Army Redstone Test Center Wednesday, September 21st, [2016,] resulted in the release of chaff into the atmosphere on the west side of Redstone Arsenal," the public affairs office at the Army facility said in a statement after that second incident. "While the tests were conducted strictly over the Arsenal and wind speed restrictions were adhered to, climatic factors cannot always be predicted."

But the chaff in this instance stayed in the area in excess of 10 hours and at its peak stretched along a front more than 50 miles across. The material did not start at a particularly high altitude – approximately 9,000 to 10,000 feet – and the relatively uniform wave drifted from one state into two others in succession, as well.

This is unusually persistent coverage over a very large area. This could point to a test involving a more exotic type of material that hangs in the air longer.

"It might be chaff released from an aircraft, but we've never seen it quite this hot," National Weather Service meteorologist Greg Meffert also told the Evansville Courier & Press, referring to how reflective the material was on radar. At that time, WEHT's Hart had not reported that it was chaff from a C-130.

None of this explains why any U.S. military service would have dropped chaff in this particular location, which isn't adjacent to any military installation, such as a research or test site. Scott Air Force Base, home to Air Mobility Command's 375th Air Mobility Wing and the Illinois Air National Guard's 126th Air Refueling Wing, is 75 miles to the northwest. Neither of those units flies C-130s of any type.

The U.S. Navy's Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division, or NSWC Crane, is similarly far away, but to the east in neighboring Indiana, and is not typically associated with aircraft research and development programs. To the South, there is the U.S. Army's Fort Campbell, which is home to various fixed and rotary wing aircraft units, but none of which operate the C-130. It is possible that the Hart misheard the aircraft in question or that his source was confused as to the type. Various types of U.S. military fixed and rotary wing aircraft have countermeasures dispensers that employ chaff.

However, the area where the chaff first begins to appear is within a so-called Military Operations Area (MOA), known as the Red Hills MOA. This is a designated piece of airspace set aside for military aircraft training activities. Red Hills MOA was the site of an F-15C Eagle fighter jet crash during a training mission in 2007 in which the aircraft's structure gave out and it broke apart around the pilot.

  14. Magnitude 4.4 Earthquake in Tennessee Felt in Atlanta Metro, Southeast

An early morning earthquake in east Tennessee Wednesday was widely felt over the Southeast U.S.

The magnitude 4.4 quake struck around 4:14 a.m. EST, centered about 7 miles north-northeast of Decatur, Tennessee, in Meigs County, about 55 miles west-southwest of Knoxville.

It was followed about 12 minutes later by a magnitude 3.3 aftershock.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, light shaking was observed over most of the Atlanta metro area, and a number of states from southern Alabama to South Carolina, North Carolina, and Kentucky.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

This quake was one of the strongest on record in east Tennessee, exceeded only by a November 30, 1973 near Maryville, south of Knoxville which lead to minor damage near the epicenter.

The quake appeared to occur along the Eastern Tennessee Seismic Zone, a southwest-to-northeast belt extending from Alabama to far southwest Virginia that is the second-most active quake zone in the central and eastern U.S. behind the more notorious New Madrid zone.

A 2014 USGS study bumped a portion of the ETSZ to a higher risk of earthquakes, though not nearly as high as the New Madrid zone in the western part of Tennessee and other adjacent states.

Though quakes stronger than M4.7 have not been recorded in recent times, a 2017 study in the Bulletin of the Seismological Society of America found evidence of a M6 or stronger temblor along the ETSZ within the last 25,000 years.

Earthquakes in the central and eastern U.S. can be felt over an area more than 10 times larger than a similar magnitude quake in the West, according to the USGS.

There is a real push across all of the Israeli media to abolish the Chief Rabbinate which is the arm of the Orthodox Jewish in the government of Israel. Most people are pushing for a modern "illumined" inclusive democratized version.

    https://duckduckgo.com/?q=abolish+Israel’s+Chief+Rabbinate&t=ffcm&ia=web

As rabbis of all denominations, we say it is time to abolish Israel’s Chief Rabbinate
    Ruach Hiddush
    December 6, 2018 1:52 pm

A huppah awaits the wedding couple at a site on the Mediterranean Sea in central Israel. (Mendy Hechtman/Flash90)

JERUSALEM (JTA) — Israel’s Chief Rabbinate holds absolute power in key areas over the religious definition of what – and who – is Jewish. This monopoly — empowered, funded and perpetuated by the state — has given the haredi Orthodox-controlled body the license to exclude major segments of the Jewish community within and outside Israel, including adherents of varieties of Orthodoxy, such as Modern Orthodoxy, of which they disapprove.

In the latest example of such power, the Chief Rabbinate has issued a list of criteria for the overseas rabbinical courts that it recognizes in the areas of divorce, conversion and Jewish status. While some praised the Chief Rabbinate for transparency, critics said the list is outdated and omits rabbinical courts that operate in Modern Orthodox communities. The Chief Rabbinate’s new initiative is intended, among other things, to undermine Modern Orthodoxy by denying recognition to conversions performed by some of the leading lights of that stream of Orthodoxy.

In reaction, some Orthodox critics have committed themselves to fight via legal and public avenues until the Chief Rabbinate becomes more inclusive of the broad swath of present-day Orthodoxy.

We offer a radically different, more inclusive response. As rabbis representing the full spectrum of Jewish denominational life, including the non-Orthodox denominations long excluded by the Chief Rabbinate, we no longer expect any flexibility, decency or inclusiveness from a body controlled by a monopoly that represents such a small, fundamentalist sliver of the Jewish rainbow. .

Further, we view it as inappropriate to seek relief through the civil court system. Diverse interpretations of Jewish law are natural. Using civil law to force religious authorities to validate procedures against their religious conscience is an act of religious coercion.

Recent developments underscore the need to move on to a different model of religion-state relations — and abolish the Chief Rabbinate as an arm of the state.

The existence of the Chief Rabbinate as an arm of the state violates the core principles of democracy. It is rejected by the overwhelming majority of Israeli Jews. No contemporary democratic Jewish community would submit itself to a monopolistic Orthodox rabbinic authority. Only in today’s Israel, under the pretense of maintaining Israel’s identity as a Jewish state, has the government put a system of religious exclusivity in place. This allows the Chief Rabbinate to impose its will on the religious practices of Jews in Israel and now abroad.

A number of months ago, an alternative model was proposed – one that is unifying, Jewish and democratic in character. “A Vision Statement: Israel as a Jewish and Democratic State” was written by a Reform rabbi and an Orthodox rabbi and signed by rabbis and communal leaders of all denominations and diverse political views. It addresses all the key areas of contention regarding matters of religion and state. It is anchored in love, support and commitment to Israel’s well-being and Jewish peoplehood.

The Vision Statement proposes the following:

    • “Those who wish to convert to Judaism must have the right to undergo this process with rabbis of their choice, by rabbis who are duly ordained and recognized by their respective major religious movements. These conversions must be accepted as valid proof of Jewishness by the State of Israel, even as we respect the prerogative of the different religious groups to apply their own criteria for conversion.
    • “Those who wish to adjudicate their cases before religious courts may do so on a private basis, with no governmental participation or interference.”
    • “The State of Israel must grant its citizens the right to choose their own religious leadership so that they are not compelled to adhere to a State-sponsored religious establishment.”
    • “The State should not grant governmental authority to ‘Chief Rabbis’ — whether on the national or local levels. Rather, each Jewish community must be free to employ the rabbis of its choice.”
A section devoted to marriage and divorce illustrates how responsible and inclusive this model is. It lays out a process — already supported by Modern Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, Reconstructionist, Renewal and secular groups and leaders in Israel and in the Diaspora — by which Israelis may choose between a religious and a civil avenue for marriage and divorce. If they choose a path in accordance with halacha, or rabbinic law, the dissolution of their marriage will be conducted according to halacha. Those who choose a civil path will not be subjected to a rabbinical court’s authority.

We hold that it is high time that a broadly defined coalition of Jews across the world, representing the rich Jewish spectrum that reaches from Modern Orthodoxy to the unaffiliated, joins together in recognizing that for Israel to be truly Jewish and democratic, for Jewish peoplehood to be respected, and for Jewish unity to be strengthened, Israel must move away from a coercive religious model of a Chief Rabbinate to one that celebrates religious freedom and equality.

Media: Russia to set up military base in the Caribbean

Moscow is gearing up to establish a long-term military presence in Latin America and the current mission of the Tu-160 strategic bombers to Venezuela is part of this plan, Nezavisimaya Gazeta writes.

According to military envoys, Russian authorities have made a decision (and Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro did not object) to deploy strategic aircraft to one of Venezuela’s islands in the Caribbean Sea, which has a naval base and a military airfield. Ten years ago, Russian experts and Armed Forces commanders had already visited the island of La Orchila, located 200 kilometers northeast of Caracas. Venezuelan laws prohibit the setup of military bases in the country, but a temporary deployment of warplanes is possible.

"It is the right idea to include Venezuela in long-range aviation missions," military expert Colonel Shamil Gareyev told the newspaper, adding that it was also economically reasonable. "Our strategic bombers will not only not have to return to Russia every time, but also won't perform aerial refueling while on a patrol mission in the Americas. Our Tu-160 aircraft arrive to their base in Venezuela, conduct flights, execute their missions and are then replaced on a rotating basis. This is how it should be done," he said.

Colonel Eduard Rodyukov, a Corresponding Member of the Academy of Military Sciences, in turn, told Nezavisimaya Gazeta that "the arrival of Russia’s Tu-160 strategic bombers to Central America is kind of a signal to Trump to make him realize that abandoning nuclear disarmament treaties will have a boomerang effect."

According to Kommersant’s sources in Russian military management agencies, the Russian-Venezuelan agreement on the flight of two Tu-160 strategic bombers is mutually beneficial, since Caracas got a chance to exhibit its independent military policy and Russian pilots performed not just a simple training flight but covered a distance of more than 10,000 kilometers over the Atlantic Ocean, the Barents, the Norwegian and the Caribbean Seas.

We are clearly helping the Venezuelan government stay afloat, Research Fellow at the Institute of Latin American Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences Emil Dabagyan told Kommersant. "Since Russia benefits from oil exploration, it wants the Venezuelan regime to stay in place," he added. As for Caracas, joint military drills with Russia and other activities of this kind are very important for it at the moment. According to the expert, Venezuelan authorities "seek to show their determination to protect the country from the potential aggression of the United States, who has been labeling the Maduro regime as illegitimate."

It seems no area of the world is untouched by "all inclusivism"!
