My prayers and thoughts will be with you this morning Jackie. May God bless you and grant a quick recovery!
Oh thank you everyone for your prayers offered and kind comments. I have kept up on pain meds, I’ve hardly any pain at all. , whoever designed these drains, they’re fast to empty and absolutely no mess. The surgeon said she did not see any sign of cancer in my right lymph nodes. My left breast, she had to take other nodes, could not find the sentinel (main) lymph node. The test results on both will come back this Tuesday. In my city, there is a charity called The Healing Chair. It is a motorized recliner (of course, a double mastectomy makes it hard to sit up, to get out of bed and for all surgeries, to lay flat on your back). The founders and helpers who deliver the recliner also answer questions from their experience with breast cancer. I am sitting in it right now. I thought I would get to -see- an operating room. Nah, to reduce fear maybe, the anesthesiologist gives you something ahead in the pre-op room. I do not have adequate words to express my gratitude for your caring. Love to y’all.
Yea! I'm glad that under the circumstances, it all went well. Thank you very much for letting us know and I will continue prayers for your quick recovery! We love you too! God bless.
Ha, ha, it does. I so appreciate djmoforegon. Thank you all for your continued prayers. Most days I've been up and positive but I had doubts and sadness yesterday about what God wants of me. Falling down, I know and believe as you all do, whatever is God's Will. I saw the radiology oncologist on the 15th. Pathology shows cancer in 2 out of 20 lymph nodes taken on my left side (my left breast was the bad) plus some evidence of cancer in the "margins." No cancer in the three nodes taken from my right side. Yay! It goes...chemo, mastectomy, then radiation if needed. I am very happy they have a plan. I start radiation on the 2nd of December (28 rounds).
Jackie, I'll be saying this prayer for you and petitioning the 3 Mothers (as I call them) - Mother Mary, St Anne & St Gianna Molla: Blood and Water, Heart of Jesus, Have Mercy on Jackie. 3 Mothers - be with her.
Still praying, Jackie, for you and all of the brave forum members who place their trust in Mother and Son.
Praying for you Jackie! I can't imagine how physically and mentally exhausting this must be for you. You may want to touch base with Maryrose. I believe she has cancer of the breast and lymph nodes as well. She started chemo about the same time as you.
