Today I remember the "earthy" Birthday of my Aunt Angelina. She passed in 2014 at the age of 91,but she is the person responsible for my introduction to Joey & Garabandal. Without her, I would not be here today. May she be looking down from Heaven today, pleased that her nephew has carried on her love of our Lady,and the messages of Garabandal. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ! I first heard about Garabandal through an Aunt of mine Angelina Glass,who lived in Lindenhurst, NY and was in the same Parish as Joey Lomangino ( Our Lady of Perpetual Help ). She was having Joey over to her house to do a talk about Garabandal ( one of the first to do so ) and also a chance to see and venerate the medal Joey had that was kissed by the Blessed Mother. The reason I was there as about a 13year old was I had a bone marrow disease in my legs. My Grandmother ( who was truly a living saint ) was praying for my miraculous healing, was a huge believer in Padre Pio, and I heard he was connected to and approved this apparition apostolate. I listened to Joey and kissed the medal (which the Blessed Mother kissed at Garabandal ). Two weeks later, after another x-ray, astonished doctors, said the disease was completely gone ! So I was certainly surprised and grateful to my Grandmother for her prayers to Padre Pio ( never really understand the meaning of kissing the medal at that time as a boy.) 20 years later, a friend ( Peter ) asked me to go to a prayer meeting and talk by some blind guy in Lindenhurst, who had a link to the Blessed Mother and Padre Pio. I figured , My family always had a devotion to Mary and Padre Pio, so why not ? Well to my surprise I walked in and see this blind guy ( Joey ) and I’m shocked because I remember seeing him 20 years earlier ! He's got a face you can't forget . After the meeting at the NY Center, I offered to help out making rosaries, and doing mailings of the video ( at that time ,and later the DVD ). After meeting Joey a couple of times, he saw I was not a shy person ,lol, and so he asked me to be the Public Relations Director, which was a huge honor, and I gladly excepted. I mainly concentrated on doing talks and showing the video, and answering questions afterwards at any place or church that would have me. Heaven somehow implanted the idea in my empty head to try and get the video on tv. After all the major networks turned me down, I targeted Mother Angelica's EWTN live show. I called and wrote the President Bill Steltemier for 6 months straight relentlessly ! He finally caved in, probably figured it was easier to put Joey on one time and get rid of me for good, lol. Well, that show was the highest rated show they ever had ,and Joey & Mother Angelica had such good chemistry, we were asked back again, and again. That show caused the video to explode in the USA . I went to Joey ( and Conchita ) back in 2009 with the idea to bring the Message of Garabandal, here to facebook, since it had a global audience. Both happily agreed, and that's how this page started. I truly am blessed to have known Joey ,his family & Conchita and her family, for the past 25 years. Last BD 2014.
Today in Garabandal History: November 3,1961 Conchita recalls how she learned the "Hail Mary", from Fr.Luis Andreau, AFTER he passed away ! Conchita " After his death Fr. Luis Andreu taught me to pray the Hail Mary in Greek. We heard his voice during an ecstasy; but we didn't see him. Also he told me a message for his brother, and a French song, which I don't remember anymore, although Fr. Ramon knows it by heart. He told us how they had buried him . . . TODAY IN GARABANDAL HISTORY NOVEMBER 4, 1961: [Photo] Pastor Don Valentin &girls THE VIRGIN OF MOUNT CARMEL'S CONCERN FOR THE CHURCH The Blessed Virgin warned the four visionaries that their daily ecstasies would cease temporarily from November 18 on. Pressed by the "Special Commission," Msgr. Fernandez invited Don Valentin to take a "holiday." This would keep the pastor away from the village for almost two months during which time the girls each had only one apparition. [Excerpted from 'Garabandal' Book, page 117] It seems that Our Lady didn't like the conclusions of the "Special Commission", which was denying the supernatural events of Garabandal. I think She also didn't like the idea of removing the pastor from his post there. He was close to the girls and helped them spiritually, a 'good father priest'!
TODAY IN GARABANAL HISTORY :NOVEMBER 4,1962 Garabandal and the Holy Shroud Only after Father Eusebio Garcia de Pesquera had written his comprehensive book on Garabandal, SHE WENT IN HASTE TO THE MOUNTAIN, did it come to light that the Shroud was mentioned at Garabandal. It was during one of Conchita's ecstasies when the Blessed Virgin spoke to the visionary about the Sabana Santa (Spanish for Holy Shroud). Among the spectators at that ecstasy was the Marquesa de Santa Maria, an excellent witness, and it was from her that Prof. Jacques Serre learned what the Virgin said about the Shroud. The Marquesa heard Conchita repeat the words of Our Lady: "It is the divine imprint of my Son."
THE LOCAL BISHOP & COMMISSION WAS BIASED , HID THE TRUTH! The Bishop was dead set against approving this apparition from day one ! Did you know that the very priest who they sent to investigate, came back a believer ! Then RESIGNED! When that didn't work, they sent doctors, but the doctors were dumb founded as to how the girls in ecstasy were impervious to pain ! They were burned with matches, stuck with needles, pinched, has sand thrown in their eyes (but didn't blink) darn near torture ! But they too failed to explain this as a "natural event" or the girls imagination. Now the Bishop is so mad, he even REFUSED the testimony OF POLICE CIVIL GUARDS. The worst part, they REFUSED to interview A SINGLE PERSON ! HOW CAN YOU CALL THIS A VALID INVESTIGATION WHEN THEY NEVER INTERVIEWED THE GIRLS , THE PARISH PRIESTS, the girl’s parents, family, friends, other villagers ??? There were hundreds of witnesses who begged to testify, and they would not hear them for fear of convincing the public it WAS TRUE ! There was such a LACK OF EVIDENCE to support his position, that NO REPORT WAS EVER SENT TO THE VATICAN !! So when the original Bishop's finding is not favorable for approval, many lost interest in Garabandal and worse yet, our Blessed Mother's messages. Other Bishops offended ! Now add the second message of the Blessed Mother that said "Many cardinals, many bishops and many priests are on the road to perdition and are taking many souls with them " WOW, so the very people in charge of the investigation, are being called out by Mary, and they don't like being "knocked off their pedestal " of reverence in the peoples eyes. And you wonder why the approval did not happen then. Thank God, that the likes of Pope Paul VI, Padre Pio, kept hope alive because of their belief in the early days, or this would have been dead and buried. As the evidence mounted that Mary was appearing, the best that they could do is say that the apparitions were " Non-constat de supernaturalitate - It is not certain that the events are of supernatural origin. ". This is just a few reasons the early generations had little interest ,until Joey Lomangino went to confession to Padre Pio ,and came back to America and started his apostolate. Now it is up to us to get this message out before the Warning & Miracle ! We have the enormous advantage of the internet and media that no other age had. God has given us the tools to awaken the world to the truth of our Lady's messages NOW, before its too late ! Do all you can to bring people here to learn.
FINDINGS NEVER SENT TO VATICAN ! What do we know for certain of this initial query? The commission visited the village briefly and only three times,( out of all those years ! ) and NEVER questioned the visionaries, their parents, the parish priest, and carefully avoided anyone who might have given favorable testimony. No questions regarding the apparitions themselves were put forth; those that were asked were of a general nature, e.g., the way of life in Garabandal, the social activities of its inhabitants, and so on. Not only did the priest on the commission resign, two decades later, its chief medical examiner, Dr. Luis Morales, with the permission of the bishop at the time, publicly reversed his original negative position, after having received an asked-for miraculous sign. A second and a third study (1986-91) were commissioned by Bishop Juan Antonio del Val Gallo (who was the priest on the original commission). The findings of the first of these two commissions were neither finalised nor sent to the Vatican. The results of the third investigation - started by Bishop del Val and transferred, upon his retirement in 1991, to the current bishop - Jose Vilaplana, eventually were sent to Cardinal Ratzinger at the Vatican but have not yet been made public. Thus, no official pronouncement has been made yet, as they wait for the fulfillment of the Warning and Miracle. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ COMMISSION PRIEST RESIGNS ! What does it say about this " Commission" when its OWN investigative Priest resigns ? Del Val Gallo later becomes the Bishop of Santandar ,and he lifts the ban on priests to say mass there, and more importantly ,he initiates a new investigation Committee ,who findings are much different from the first bogus Commission, and they are sent to the Vatican. ( * also note the first Commission , never sent a report to the Vatican because they could not verify their claims, because they had no witnesses interviewed, they never even interviewed the girls or their families ! ) Padre Lucio Rodrigo was consulted by the members of the "Special Commission" (except Dr. Morales), in the second half of the month of August 1961. Following this encounter with the renowned Spanish theologian, Don Juan Antonio del Val,( the future bishop of Santander ). . ., resigned from the "Commission." This was the Commission's doctor's " medical opinion" The doctor in charge of the district, Doctor Jose Luis Gullon said " that these were seizures and diseases, that all that was happening was due to an illness that the girls had." He never said what illness it was. WOW can you believe this ? Now you know why the Bishop Dal Val Gallo ordered a new investigation !
How reliable is this First Commission ? Let the main witness speak: Upon presenting the memoirs of Juan Alveraz Seco, Brigadier Chief of the Civil Guard, and the man responsible for maintaining order in the village during the apparitions, Anotnio Pacio, M.S.C. Professor at the University of Barcelona writes: “ I would like to only state one thing to forestall the objections on many based on various official communiqués coming from the Diocese of Santandar. These communiqués should have been preceded by a substantial interrogation of the myriad witnesses” “Among these witnesses , one who stands out is Juan Alvarez Seco, Brigadier Chief of the Civil Guard,who is the author of these memoirs. He was present from the beginning to 1962,and at 1965 at the time of the Message, and he had the duty of informing his superiors and the Civil Governor and all that was going on in Garabandal, while at the same time he had to maintain order in the village. “ “Well, none of the Commissioners, who rejected the supernatural events at Garabandal, ever asked him to testify, nor did they deign to even interview him, who was the “official informant” to the authorities. This detail suffices to illustrate the “true and impartiality “ with which the various episcopal commissions endeavored to inform themselves. Juan Seco : “ THEY WERE NOT INTERESTED IN BELIEVING WITNESSES, BUT ONLY THE UNBELIEVING. THEY WANTED AT ALL COST, TO DISCREDIT THE MANIFISTATIONS, AND IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE THIS, THAT HAD TO ELIMINATE ANY WITNESS,INCLINED TO BE FAVORABLE, NO MATTER WHAT HIS COMPETENCY”. After four weeks in the movie houses of Mexico, there have been 81,323 viewers in 67 cities and 93 movie houses in 32 Mexican states. Hundreds of volunteers have collaborated in numerous ways to achieve such wonderful results. To all of them, we express our most deep appreciation. However, the important thing is not the number of people who have viewed this film, but the good that is being imparted to many souls. God and Mary gave me much.” The very same day when the movie Garabandal, only God Knows ceased being shown in Mexico, it began being shown in Puerto Rico in five strategically located cities throughout this beautiful Caribbean island: San Juan, Ponce, Mayagüez, Arecibo and Fajardo. The results have been spectacular. In only ten days there have been more than 8,000 movie viewers in a population of over three and a half million inhabitants. And a fact that fills us with hope is that 22% of these moviegoers were young people under 18 years of age. Soraya Sesto-Martínez, coordinator of the exceptional group of volunteers, commented as follows a few days ago: “Garabandal, only God knows, has been a success, and for this reason is remaining on the Island for an additional week. Although it is being shown in only five movie houses, it has surpassed the average attendance for commercial movies. Let us intensify our efforts and prayers.” But that is not all. "When saying good-bye, she kissed us, and it was like this . . . We didn't feel any physical contact and at the same time we weren't able to advance further, since there was something there that prevented us from doing it. We wanted to touch, and our hand didn't touch anything on arriving at her, nor was it able to continue further. We held the Child Jesus in our arms, and we felt no weight, nor did we feel any physical contact; but He was there."

"The people pray that the Miracle will take place. Don't you see that this is foolish? It will take place whether they pray or not. I only request that the message be fulfilled. Many pray for the Miracle in order that others, who have not believed, will be put down. This doesn't seem good to me. I think that my mother is anxious for the Miracle to come in order to be free from doubts and worry . . . It's wonderful to love God and to have faith, without seeing anything. "
SACRED GROUND The Virgin Mary referred to “the Pines“ : "God loves this place very much. This place is sacred." GARABANDAL- “The Pines - Sacred ground “ . We all know about the special area of Garabandal called "The Pines" (the 9 Pine trees where the Blessed Mother appeared, and foretold of the great Miracle that will take place there),but there are some other facts that have been forgotten about over time. Mary called this place "sacred". Conchita 's Grandfather Serafin, in his younger years when he was the mayor of the village, had the idea that every child, in commemoration of his or her First Holy Communion would plant a pine tree on the heights above the village as a symbol for his or her life. Of those planted, nine survived and grew into massive trees, at the place to which the Virgin Mary referred ' saying: "God loves this place very much. This place is sacred." Today they are called "los pinos" and we await the great Miracle announced by the visionary children. Mary said "It will be the greatest miracle that my Son, Jesus, will have ever performed for mankind. It will also be the last one before the end”.

When I visited the hospitals, I noticed that I benefited. Then I remembered the things that attracted me at other times — like amusements, fine clothes — and I saw that they weren't worth the trouble." Later at age 23 she came to America. A famous Spanish/American Radio personality and Physician in NY, Dr. Dominguez, knew her from his visits to Garabandal, offered to bring her over, and provide housing and a vocation in his medical practice.
GARABANDAL AND GOD'S GREATEST GIFT THE HOLY EUCHARIST Reprinted with kind permission from GARABANDAL JOURNAL March-April 2005 By Barry Hanratty The Year of the Eucharist proclaimed by Pope John Paul II provides us with the ideal time to focus on Garabandal's great emphasis on the Holy Eucharist. Why there was such a Eucharistic emphasis during those prophetic events became apparent after the close of Vatican II when Eucharistic devotion was deemphasized and the doctrine of the Real Presence itself came under attack. Our Lady anticipated the impending crisis which has continued until today. * * * Mention of the Blessed Sacrament was there at the very outset of the Garabandal events, on the sign beneath Saint Michael's feet when he first appeared on June 18, 1961. The sign, actually the first Message, apparently was in Latin and not understood by the visionaries. On July 4, 1961, just two days after her first appearance, Our Lady explained the text of the Message to the visionaries which said among other things, that we "must visit the Blessed Sacrament frequently." This mandate of Our Lady to visit the Blessed Sacrament reminds us of our responsibility in that regard. The word "must" does not imply a suggestion but rather an obligation. In Saint Matthew's gospel chapter 25, Our Lord warns that Heaven can be lost to souls not only because of the wrong they've done but because of the good they have failed to do ("[I was] in prison and you did not visit me"). Jesus truly is a prisoner in the tabernacle; He can't leave, and we should visit Him, especially since He's there for our sakes and not for His. In visiting Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, we are the great beneficiaries. I'm confident that if you asked anyone who visits the Blessed Sacrament on a regular basis as part of their devotional practice, they will tell you they wouldn't give it up for anything. I knew one man, ninety years old and still driving a car, who spent between four and five hours a day before Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. "I asked the girls why they went to the church so often, since it was dosed (they were not allowed to enter it in ecstasy), and they answered candidly: BECAUSE THE VIRGIN LIKES TO GO NEAR THE PLACE WHERE HER SON JESUS IS.'" - Luis Navas, eyewitness
