    Could be.

Or maybe the good Cardinal has picked the wrong battles to fight. If he starts spewing hatred against capitalism, supporting abortion and population control and extolling the virtues of Planned Parenthood...

I couldn´t help noticing some of the comments readers made about the pope-Moore meeting. Some are slightly uncharitable but hey what the heck.

A meeting of minds!!! So pleased to read that the latest offering from the grotesque Moore is sinking rapidly in the viewing figure department. It will be given rave reviews by the biased media, but the rest of us know the truth, Moore is less.

Makes sense, since Francis probably one of the few people who has bothered to see "11/9". But who does this guy think he is criticizing Trump for separating children from their supposed parents (some are still separated for their own protection)? With the ongoing revelations that Francis (aka Jorge Mario Bergoglio, in Argentina) ran a refuge for abusers from around that world and put kids in harm's way, Moore could probably make a lot more money running an expose on him.

    Clergy Abuse Is Soul Murder
[IMG] Elizabeth Yore October 17, 2018 3 Comments
Amid the low rolling plains, where the coastal mountains dot the northwest corner of Ireland, lies the beautiful county of Donegal. There, in the rural village of Gortahork, where Gaelic primarily is spoken among the 1,600 residents, lies the Catholic Parish of Criost Ri (Christ the King). Known for its natural diverse, rugged beauty, Gortahork is infamous – not as the home of Gerry Adams, the leader of the Sinn Féin political party, but for the wreckage of many young lives. Tragically, this beautiful, quaint hamlet harbors a dark and menacing secret.

Clerical sex abuse hangs like a fog over this village. Across the road from Christ the King Church lies its Catholic cemetery. The Celtic cross gravestones jut above ground like the Errigal Mountain off in the distance. Herein, buried in the graveyard, among Donegal’s aged dead, lie the graves of eight young men who committed suicide. All eight were victims of sexual abuse by Catholic priests. Their deaths symbolize the unrelenting pain and trauma gripping victims of clerical sex abuse around the world – eight young Donegal men tortured with the vile memories of their spiritual and sexual assault by trusted priests.

Clerical sex abuse is soul murder. The body and soul are violated by the predator priest. Nothing remains but a brittle and broken shell of a person.

Child advocates and law enforcement who have investigated know that clerical sex abuse is unique from all other abuse. Clerical sex abuse leaves its victims with physical, emotional, and spiritual devastation. So devastated are clerical victims that they more often turn to suicide for relief from the shame and memories of their assault.

Why do so many victims of clerical abuse take their own lives? What causes the high incidence of suicide among victims of clerical sex abuse?

The answer may lie in the hideous nature of child sexual abuse by a man of God. The grooming words of notorious sexual predator Cardinal McCarrick are instructive. They portray the depth of depravity and spiritual torture employed by clerical abusers.

James, the 11-year-old McCarrick victim, recalls the spiritual power trip utilized by the offending priest: “He would always tell me that I was his special boy, that God gave me to him, so we could worship together and be happy together. He told me he had the power to get God to forgive me all my sins. That my father didn’t have that power. That’s the aura.”

The predator priest often uses God to groom the victim. How perfect, to subdue and intimidate a child! When the powerful predator invokes God as a consenting participant in the abuse, the child victim is left defenseless, devoid of spiritual help. The abuser supplants God as a willing cooperator in order to diabolically silence the victim into submission. As James recounts, McCarrick told him hundreds and hundreds of times, “God will only listen to you when you are with me.”

The unique and heinous spiritual abuse perpetrated upon clerical sex abuse victims robs these children of hope and escape. Their world is turned upside-down, with God not as their savior, but as their tormentor. The priest, portraying himself as in persona Christi, sadistically warps any sense of good and evil for the child. He loses all hope. For the soul tormented with utter hopelessness, no belief in a better future, no chance of recovery, it seems that only suicide remains.

In his response to the Archbishop Viganò testament about McCarrick’s history of predation and the Vatican’s knowledge of it, Cardinal Marc Ouellet callously dismissed McCarrick’s crimes and thus exposed the Vatican’s disdain for the suffering of clerical sex abuse victims:

I strongly doubt that McCarrick was of interest to him [Pope Francis] to the point that you believed him to be, since at the moment he was an 82-year-old archbishop emeritus who had been without an appointment for seven years.

In essence, Ouellet provides the excuse that since McCarrick is an old man, despite decades of abuse, which was never prosecuted or investigated by the Church, he is given a papal pass.

Pennsylvania attorney general Josh Shapiro referenced the number of suicide victims in his press conference when he unveiled the damning Pennsylvania clergy abuse report in August.

In the 2004 John Jay Report on the U.S. clergy abuse scandal, the authors described the particular impact on clergy abuse victims (p. 217):

The effects of sexual abuse on the victims vary, but the impact is long lasting and may result in sexual depersonalization, depression, sexually acting out, and suicide. When a child has been victimized by a priest, the impact of the abuse effects how the child perceives God, the Church and the clergy. The abuse also raises the question as to how these institutions will view the victim.

Australia, Ireland, and America seem to be especially vulnerable to the suicide ticking time bomb among clergy abuse victims.

The Catholic Church in Australia is particularly noteworthy for incidents of suicide among its victims of clergy abuse. Aussie law enforcement has documented the high incidence of suicide among these victims:

CONFIDENTIAL police reports have detailed the suicides of at least 40 people sexually abused by Catholic clergy in Victoria, and have urged a new inquiry into these and many other deaths suspected to be linked to abuse in the church.

In a damning assessment of the church’s handling of abuse issues, the reports say it appears the church has known about a shockingly high rate of suicides and premature deaths but has “chosen to remain silent.”

The reports state that while conducting lengthy inquiries into paedophile clergy, investigators have discovered “an inordinate number of suicides which appear to be a consequence of sexual offending.”

“The number of people contacting this office to report members of their family, people they know, people they went to school with, who have taken their lives is constant. It would appear that an investigation would uncover many more deaths as a consequence of clergy sexual abuse,” one of the reports states.

Dr. A.W. Richard Sipe, the prominent expert and child advocate for clergy abuse victims, who died during this past summer of shame, delivered a prescient 16-page plea to San Diego bishop Robert McElroy in 2016. The letter warned McElroy about McCarrick’s sexual predation and the fatal effects of clergy abuse. Sipe pleaded with Bishop McElroy:

I have tried to help the Church understand and heal the wounds of sexual abuse by clergy. My services have not been welcomed.

My appeal to you has been for pastoral attention to victims of abuse and the long term consequences of that violation. This includes the effects of suicidal attempts. Only a bishop can minister to these wounds.

It is apparent that Francis, the bishop of Rome, is uninterested in ministering to these wounds. He dismisses them as “rumors” and intimates that those who blow the whistle are in league the devil, the “great Accuser, who roams the world looking for ways to accuse.”

Time has run out for this papacy. The global sex abuse scandal has engulfed Francis and his cabal with his inaction over, promotion of, and facilitation of predatory clerics. His papacy is mired in corruption, apathy, and malfeasance over his total abdication of responsibility for this massive crisis.

The Irish are known for their long memories and fiery tempers. The Donegal winds blow a menacing warning from the graves of the eight young men of Gortahork. Their now silenced voices cry out for vengeance and justice against the Church and its pope, who dismisses their pain and abuse as mere rumors.

There’s an old Gaelic saying that Pope Francis should heed: “Truth speaks even though the tongue were dead.” We will not forget the boys of Donegal. Eternal rest grant to them, O Lord.

Don, Very good points here, we must not despair! As you have stated, some may be worrying and I wondered about Pope Francis' recent comments about the Blessed Mother in this regard.

Just look at all of those who recently participated in the Rosary Coast to Coast on October 7th, this is good news! A spark has come from Poland in multiple ways.

    ...
On Sunday, over 1,300 locations across the United States were joined by 57 countries to reclaim the "surrendered ground of planet Earth back to God," a Holy League email said. Rallies were held in several dioceses and several groups live-streamed their prayer rallies on Facebook.
    ...
In August, Church Militant spoke with Bree Dail, an international organizer for the Holy League of Nations, who said the roots of the movement sprung from Poland. To learn from other countries that had Rosary Coast to Coast events, Dail contacted Fr. Richard Heilman, the president of the Holy League, who put her in touch with leaders from the United Kingdom, Ireland and Scotland.
    ....
Father Heilman noted the following countries joined America in praying the Rosary: Canada, Mexico, Columbia, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Peru, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Panama, Ecuador, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Belgium, Poland, Romania, France, Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Finland, Spain, Portugal, Luxembourg, Slovakia, Switzerland, Slovenia, Gibraltar, Lebanon, Syria, Holy Land, Jordan, Iraq, Iran, Armenia, Georgia, India, Russia, Vietnam, Philippines, Japan, Australia, New Zeland, Papua New Guinea, Fidji, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Nigeria, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia and Ghana.

Exactly, thank you. It is something in which I think we must practice a certain amount of detachment from which is much easier said than done. Not to stick our heads in the sand but to focus instead on the good and being a part of it. If we suffer as a result we can offer up that suffering for the saving of souls or for those in Purgatory with no one to pray for them.
It's all just become so utterly absurd. It's like a Monty Python script in real life.

    Ann Barnhardt had a good article this morning that is uplifting;

The Benefits of Going to Mass

I strongly recommend bookmarking the available-free-online book, “The Hidden Treasure – Holy Mass” by St. Leonard of Port Maurice.

This list comes from that book, in answer to the question, “Why go to Mass?”

The Mass should be the center of one’s life, most especially if one is a so-called “professional Catholic”, and ESPECIALLY if said person is single. Mass attendance should be THE HIGHEST PRIORITY. Everything should revolve around the Holy Sacrifice and assisting thereto, from where one lives to one’s work schedule to one’s eating patterns (observing the Eucharistic fast).

Here are just some of the benefits of assisting at Mass. Emphases mine.

    – At the hour of death, the Holy Masses you have heard devoutly will be your greatist consolation.
    – God forgives you all the venial sins which you are determined to avoid. He forgives you all your unknown sins which you never confessed. The power of Satan over you is diminished.
    – Every Mass will go with you to Judgement and will plead for pardon for you.
    – By every Mass you can diminish the temporal punishment due to your sins, more or less, according to your fervor.
    – By devoutly assisting at Holy Mass you render the greatest homage possible to the Sacred Humanity of Our Lord.
    – Through the Holy Sacrifice, our Lord Jesus Christ supplies for many of your negligences and omissions.
    – By piously hearing Holy Mass you afford the Souls in Purgatory the greatest possible relief.
    – One Holy Mass heard during your life will be of more benefit to you than many heard for you after your death.
    – Through Holy Mass you are preserved from many dangers and misfortunes which would otherwise have befallen you. You shorten your Purgatory by every Mass.
    – During the Holy Mass you kneel amid a multitude of Angels, who are present at the Adorable Sacrifice with reverential awe.
    – Through Holy Mass you are blessed in your temporal goods and affairs.
    – When you hear Holy Mass devoutly, offering it to Almighty God in honor of any particular Saint or Angel, thanking God for the favors bestowed on him, etc., you afford that Saint or Angel a new degree of honor, joy and happiness, and draw His special love and protection on yourself.
    – Every time you assist at Holy Mass, besides other intentions, you should offer it in honor of the Saint of the day.

    ——

Finally, remember that Our Lord would go through His entire Passion and death JUST FOR YOU AND YOU ALONE, and He would do it as many times as you assist at (which means “hear”, not doing anything in the sanctuary necessarily, or OBVIOUSLY in the case of females who have absolutely NO PLACE in the sanctuary) Mass over the course of your life. That is how much He loves you. That is why He created the universe, instituted His Holy Church, and why He instituted the Holy Mass. So that you might know, love and serve Him in this world, and be happy with Him forever in the next.

    GO. TO. MASS.

As often as you possibly can. Make it your top priority.

Yes in charity I used to try to jump through the hoops to try to square what they were doing with Catholicism, but at a certain point their modus operandi became so obvious that one began to look foolish in not acknowledging it. They have become fairly blatant so it is easy to spot now that we have seen in a million times. They used to make more attempt to hide it in footnotes and whispers, but now I think they have seen there is not any substantive resistance so as long as they don't come out and do something blatant like have the Pope "marry" a homosexual couple they feel they are on safe enough ground.

    This is a great post.
There is a lack of emphasis on the importance and benefits of assisting at mass.
When I was going through the RCIA, the only thing mentioned was the obligation to be at mass every Sunday and on Holy days of Obligation. The reason why mass is so important was not explained. Even the fact that it is a mortal sin to miss one of the above was not emphasised enough.

Priest breaks ranks and blows the whistle on gay subculture in leading UK seminary
    Lisa Bourne

NEW OSCOTT, England, October 18, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) — A priest from Oscott College in England has spoken out on the gay subculture in a leading seminary there, making serious charges against the rector and stating that the bishops of England and Wales are lax on homosexuality.

In an open letter to the bishops of England, Scotland and Wales, Father David Marsden, S.C.J., former formation tutor at St. Mary’s Seminary at Oscott College, said he was terminated from his position for trying to uphold the Catholic Church’s teaching on homosexuality, and appeals to the bishops to clean up England’s seminaries for the sake of the faithful men trying to pursue a vocation to the priesthood.

“I am writing to you all with a petition to act and take the necessary steps to reform the three remaining seminaries in England,” Marsden said. “The orthodox and heterosexual seminarians deserve a seminary free from a gay subculture and free from academic and formation staff who are homosexual themselves.”

St. Mary’s, Oscott in New Oscott, Birmingham, commonly known as Oscott College, is the Roman Catholic seminary of the Archdiocese of Birmingham in England, and one of the Church’s three seminaries in England and Wales.

Marsden cast his plea against the overall sexual abuse crisis that has rocked the Church over the last several months, specifically calling out the cover-up and enabling, and he said there is still an absence of accountability for bishops.

“This approach is clearly ignoring the Church's teaching on this vital issue, yet for some strange reason, bishops are still not being made accountable for disregarding this important instruction,” he said. “Whilst the teaching is clear, the practice in so many dioceses is deeply compromised. Can I make a huge plea that something be done about this widespread abuse?”

Marsden said he prays the Holy Spirit is now purifying the Church’s hierarchy with the ongoing exposure the evil acts committed by homosexual clergy around the world. And he believes it’s his duty to inform the bishops and other Catholics that “the homosexual collective within the hierarchy which enabled McCarrick to function in an unobstructed manner is still alive and well today in the Catholic Church in England and Wales.”

Marsden condensed his observations after a year at the seminary into five points in his open letter to the bishops, covered in a Church Militant report.

First, some seminarians are sent to St. Luke’s Center in Manchester for psychological assessment as part of the selection policy.

The facilities director, Marsden said, “has some very strange views on homosexuality himself and seems happy to admit homosexual men into the formation program.”

St. Luke’s Center is the U.K branch of Saint Luke Institute, prominent mental health treatment facility based in Maryland specializing in Catholic clergy, particularly those afflicted by sex abuse tendencies. It was founded by an openly gay man who became a priest and later died of AIDS. The Institute is controversial for, among other things, charges of using homosexual and pedophilia-affirming theories and treatment techniques involving pornography.

Marsden’s second point delves into the allegations against the seminary rector, Canon David Oakley, whom Marsden said fired him for recommending that an openly gay seminarian discontinue the program of formation.

“Canon David Oakley is prepared to admit homosexual men into his seminary and will not dismiss them unless their public conduct becomes unsavory,” he stated. “He is a compromised and cowardly man who is not prepared to make a stand and disagree with the bishops on the issue of homosexuality.”

Marsden continued, saying some among the English and Welsh bishops are “happy to admit seminarians who are openly gay into the formation program and proceed towards ordination,” and he cites the bishop of Menevia.

The Vatican has definitively declared more than once a prohibition on ordaining homosexual men.

In Marsden’s fourth example, he reported that a spiritual director for the Oscott Seminary has admitted sexual attraction to young men, further implicating Oakley in letting this pass.

“It is highly inappropriate that such an individual hold such a post,” Marsden said of the first spiritual director.

“The rector is aware of this fact but seems unable to confront this individual,” Marsden stated. “He even noted that the friends who accompany this individual for holidays each year are also homosexual.”

“Apparently, the policy in Oscott appears to be if a candidate is not ‘acting out’ his homosexual tendencies at the moment or behaving in an inappropriately ‘camp’ way,” Marsden said, “then he is free to follow the formation program and move towards holy orders. “

“The rector will not dismiss a candidate from the seminary who admits to being ‘gay’ out of fear that his bishop will not agree with his decision,” he added. “The problem, therefore, quietly continues.”

Marsden continued, “Another of the spiritual directors in the seminary thinks that homosexual priests are a great idea as they can minister to the gay Catholic community.”

In Marsden’s final point, he stated specifically that the archbishops of both Birmingham (Bernard Longley) and Westminster (Vincent Nichols) have been made aware of these issues and “seem to prefer to ignore them.”

“Why do we continue to have such passive and feeble-hearted clerics in such high places of leadership in the Church?” he asked. “Why are they afraid to speak out on topics such as homosexuality in the clergy and the toxic gender ideology sweeping through our schools?”

In light of the testimony report from Archbishop Viganò, Marsden said, it is all the more apparent that “the homosexual cabal operating in the Catholic Church exists at the very highest level and even incriminates Pope Francis himself.”

The dissent from Catholic teaching on sexuality persists, Marsden stated, and it’s killing the priesthood.

“In light of the McCarrick scandal and the Viganò report,” he says, it has become very clear that cardinals, bishops and senior clergy from around the world are still openly dissenting against the Church's teaching that prohibits the entrance into seminary formation of men with a homosexual orientation.”

“This is the root cause of the most pressing scandal of our times,” Marsden said. “In fact, it is destroying the priesthood from within.”

They are experts at plausible deniability (just noticed that Praetorian anticipated me). Deny Hell and damnation to a third-party atheist; contradict Jesus Christ, but in a fog of ambiguity. Declare your identity (and who but an actual homosexual does?), but leave just enough wriggle-room to deny it, while laughing in your accusers' faces.

A commentor on Father Z's blog astutely described this as a Romper Room synod. When I see photographs of it, all that comes to my mind is grooming, God help us. To put it more crudely, abusers that seek 'fresh meat' often begin by attempting to corrupt their victims. As we saw with the description above of the demonic McCarrick. One could be forgiven now to think that the queers in the hierarchy and the pope himself wish to defend abuse as an improved lifestyle, something that is to be encouraged and facilitated in the Church. It is abominable and the end-result will likely be the secular world coming down hard on all men of the Church, innocent as well as guilty. And this, ultimately, is the intended result. Could one invent a better method of destroying the Institutional Church?

Hard times await the Church; there will be dark times and this will take so many away from the true doctrine in order to follow a false doctrine that is emerging, making itself pass for something right.

My children, truly hard times await you, great fears will invade the world, a split will divide my beloved Church, it will break it

Cardinal Schönborn Turns His Cathedral into Disco

Vienna Cathedral was on October 5 the scene of a crude disco spectacle - officially labeled an "ecumenical prayer" - with musicians jumping up and down in the presbytery (video below).

The English-born Protestant preacher Pete Greig told the crowd that Vienna Cardinal Schönborn said to him beforehand, “Who would have thought nine years ago that ecumenical events like this would be possible?”

But already in November 2008, Schönborn participated in a Disco Mass. A Gloria.tv report caused a worldwide outrage.

Shortly after, in 2009, around nine years ago, Schönborn allegedly was admonished by the Congregation for Divine Worship and the disco events ceased.

There is a video clip of it:

After watching the video, the only thing I see wrong with it is LOCATION. Presuming the Tabernacle is present and hence the Blessed Sacrament, grossly inappropriate. There is nothing wrong with dancing. This should clearly have been in an auditorium rather than a Catholic Church. Many Protestant churches are or feel like an auditorium for such a Christian concert.
