We are all very blessed to have such beautiful places to take part in the Mass. The thing about modern churches which bothers me is what is this symbolism supposed to mean to the faithful? There is much less of it for one but it should not be meaningless at first glance and often reminds me of a Picasso.
Like so much of NewChurch even it’s art is distortion and confusion. That window reminds of a fever dream.
Yes, 20-30 years ago, modern/protestant architecture was most prevailing. Fortunately here in Grand Rapids, a few retained the older architecture, yet removed the rails. Question is did they put them in storage?
Come Soon are you from Grand Rapids Michigan? Very nice surprise if you are. I spent the first 16 years of my life there!!
AED, if you haven't been here for some years, you should really come for a visit! It is an ever-evolving city.
Yes AED whoever the architect was, this type "church" is not designed for prayer or intimacy with God. I hope we revert back to the TLM with the vernacular. God Bless

I love GR. I always have. I still have family there and many wonderful memories. I don’t get back often enough. Sadly.
I’m the same way with relatives from Gary. They are still mostly in northwest Indiana I need to go back I’m a terrible traveler We usually do just weekend trips This would be longer, fly into Chicago rent a car, get hotel rooms so as not to disturb older relatives (selves included lol)
HH are you in the path of the storm? I just saw the Navy is sortied out to the Atlantic to avoid it. Not sure of its track. Is Long Island in danger? Any one else on MOG facing this? Will pray tonight.
