Yes, may God bless Bishop Vigano and thank God for giving us the truth. Let the sifting begin amongst the wolves running the church.

My entire Mass intention for this morning will be for Bishop Vigano and all who uphold him. May others find the courage to come forth and denounce this grave malfeasance.

The number of similar unexpected deaths being revealed seem to be slowly creeping up.

Since Archbishop Vigano has also implicated Cardinal Parolin in the cover-up of this sorted mess, I pray that takes Cardinal Parolin out of the running as the next pope if all of this is true.

    Edited to add:
Padraig, This is very appropriate imho.

My thoughts are with Saint John Bosco and the following prophecy of his this morning,

"From the beginning of the exile until the singing of the 'Te Deum,' the sun rose in the East two hundred times (200 days). The time that passed for the fulfilling of those things (all spoken of above) corresponds to four hundred risings of the sun."

I'm not certain exactly what the above prophecy means but because of the possibility that this past March was the month that Saint John Bosco spoke of in his prophecy of the two full moons my thoughts are with this great saint today as the news of Cardinal Vigano's letter is breaking. I'm praying that positive things will occur as a result of this news.

Help us, O God, our saviour: and for the glory of thy name, O Lord, deliver us: and forgive us our sins for thy name's sake:

Curiously silent is Archbishop Charles Chaput of Philadelphia. I’ve always thought that he was one of the good guys. Has anyone heard his reaction to any of this?

In the latest Moynihan Letters, this information is given about Archbishop Sambi's death:

"Monsignor Jean-François Lantheaume, then first Counsellor of the Nunciature in Washington and Chargé d'Affaires a.i. [ad interum, for the time being] after the unexpected death of Nuncio Sambi in Baltimore, told me when I arrived in Washington — and he is ready to testify to it — about a stormy conversation, lasting over an hour, that Nuncio Sambi had with Cardinal McCarrick whom he had summoned to the Nunciature. Monsignor Lantheaume told me that 'the Nuncio’s voice could be heard all the way out in the corridor.'"
A significant testimony from Archbishop Viganò for two reasons: (1) it reveals that his predecessor, Archbishop Pietro Sambi, had a "stormy" conversation with then-Cardinal McCarrick at the nunciature in Washington during which, in Viganò's reconstruction, Sambi told McCarrick that Pope Benedict had decided to impose strict canonical penalties on him for the rest of his life, asking him to retire to a life of prayer and fasting, and to cease all travel, and that this communication involved such loud voices that the noise could be "heard all the way out in the corridor"; and (2) that Sambi's death shortly thereafter was "unexpected"; Sambi entered the hospital to undergo a minor procedure, and his family and the staff at the nunciature were astonished when the procedure resulted in his death

    Wow!!

I also see Archbishop Vignano is asking Pope Francis to resign. I wouldn't hold my breath. I think the good Archbishop, bless him, may have more revelations in store. As a Nuncio he will know every single skeleton in the USA Hierarchy closet.

Every single one. I hope he does not have an, 'accident', like poor Archbishop Sambi, God rest his soul.

This story breaks on the day the Pope visits and speaks many words at Knock , in contrast to the silent prayer of our Blessed Mother upon her visit there, surrounded by her holy family, including her first adopted son, Christ’s beloved Bishop John. Praised be Jesus Christ

Pope Francis Live Updates: Call for Pontiff’s Resignation Further Clouds Ireland Visit

Right Now The pope is in Knock, Ireland, and has asked for “the Lord’s forgiveness” for the church’s history of abuse.

On the second day of a difficult mission to win back the confidence of Irish Catholics, Pope Francis awoke on Sunday to a bombshell attack from within his own citadel.

A former top-ranking Vatican official released a 7,000-word letter asserting that the pontiff had known about the abuses of a now-disgraced American prelate, Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, years before they became public.

The official, Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò, a conservative critic of Francis and a former apostolic nuncio to the United States, claimed that the pope had failed to punish Cardinal McCarrick, who was suspended in June following allegations that he had coerced seminarians into sexual relationships. He was also found to have abused a teenage altar boy 47 years ago, when he was a priest in New York.

In the letter, published on Saturday in Italian by The National Catholic Register and in English by LifeSiteNews, both critical of Francis, the archbishop called on the pope to resign.

“In this extremely dramatic moment for the universal Church,” the archbishop wrote, “he must acknowledge his mistakes and, in keeping with the proclaimed principle of zero tolerance, Pope Francis must be the first to set an example for cardinals and bishops who covered up McCarrick’s abuses and resign with all of them.”

The Vatican did not immediately respond on Sunday to a request for comment.

The archbishop’s startling accusation will not come as a complete surprise to Vatican watchers, since he is part of a conservative camp that blames liberals, like the pope, for allowing homosexuality in the church. But it further complicates Francis’ efforts to convince Irish Catholics that the church is ready to confront its legacy of concealing sexual abuse.

    • After the pope’s meeting with survivors of abuse on Saturday, Francis prayed at the revered shrine in the village of Knock on Sunday.

    • There, he addressed the issue of child sexual abuse by members of the Catholic Church, begging forgiveness for “the scandal and betrayal.”

    • Vigils were expected across the country, including one in Tuam, where the remains of hundreds of children were found buried in an abandoned septic system of a Catholic-run home for unmarried mothers.

    • The New York Times will have live coverage of the pope’s visit to Ireland. Here are highlights from Saturday.

Archbishop has waded into Vatican power struggles before

The attack on Pope Francis on Saturday was not the first time Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò has been at the center of a Vatican controversy. Three years ago, he arranged a personal meeting between the pontiff and Kim Davis, a county clerk from Kentucky who became a heroine to social conservatives by refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples. The meeting planted Pope Francis firmly on one side of the American debate over gay rights and resulted in a media storm, something he had hoped to avoid.

Archbishop Vigano has figured in a series of Vatican power struggles. A cultural conservative, he represents a camp within the Vatican that has pressed Pope Francis to strengthen the church’s doctrinal opposition to same-sex marriage.

In 2011, he was removed from the post to which Pope Benedict appointed him, secretary of the governorate of Vatican City State — akin to the mayor of Vatican City — and he was transferred to the United States, a move seen as a kind of administrative exile. This followed a campaign of anonymous articles about the archbishop, later known as Vatileaks, complaining of his rough management style. In one leaked letter, Archbishop Viganò angrily complained that he had been promised an elevation to cardinal.

The New York Times predictably politicizes it. Calling Bishop Vigano a conservative. Seriously does that make his statements about corruption in the VTican any less true? Shaking my head!

@fallen saint @jerry @Joe Crozier et al, how exactly are you going to spin this?

Nothing the bad evil orthodox MOG members have ever posted here even remotely compares to the reality of the depth and breadth of the demonic crisis the Church faces under the current regime.

An apology in Christian charity is due ... but not expected.

Read entire thread...sad sad sad. But thanks to Christian Charity...posts were proper. But one member always brings debate and dialogue to confrontation.

Not sure what to say...can a Pope Resign. Can we have three Popes? One Conservative, one Liberal...and one ???? How much did Pope Francis know? If he knew all the evil and still used evil Bishop to choose Bishops...then we have bigger problem. Did Pope Francis finally speak about these evils because he had no choice? So sad. What about the Vatican exorcist how told us evil was in the Vatican? We understand there is evil Priest and Bishops...but what about the Saintly ones floating around.

I think the time has come...separation of sheep and goats. So sad...my head hurts.
