Yes Rory. Truly. It was that insidious snake in the garden all over again. We must “up our game” and make reparation. I ask God all the time lately for the grace to do so. It has become harder than it used to be for me.
You’re right Dolours. The Lavender Mafia needs to be purged. These threat tactics remind me very much of the threats the left levels at its enemies.
All this gives a deeper definition of just who will, in the end, constitute "the Remnant". So many decades of flinging about this completely distorted version of the "merciful god" and the disingenuous, to be kind, tossing out of a "year of mercy" by the current Pope. Just do some type of ritual but don't dare go to the very core of the "swamp" and all will be saved. So the kind of Justice that is now necessary is far stronger since its purpose is still to get to the real end which is sincere repentance and reparation by all. And the Church must first repent and begin reparation for "grave sins against the faithful". Then the true Mercy of God can be recognized for Itself and desired above every other kind of destroying "pleasure" of this defective material world. The institutional Church is probably now at the furthest distance from the perfect God since nothing unclean can come anywhere near Him. Now anyone can see this time of justice rather than mercy....and it's been "kissing" mercy ever since the death of JPII whose entire papacy was to offer this repenting kind of Mercy to the world. Now we edge to the time of only justice, after the end attempt of correction being the Warning comes to pass. We see it all being exposed today before our eyes...."nothing will be hidden". Time now for THE choice between good and evil. No one can any longer remain on the fence or neutral or they will witness personally that "vomiting out of the Mouth of God" of such persons.
EtoA, while I appreciate your good intentions in your post on this most painful topic. I am very concerned that you should make the mistake of decrying the Mercy of God in any way, shape or form. Yes, it seems the heretic element of the Church use the Mercy of God in a very false way, just as they use compassion and tolerance in a very false way to promote their twisted view of Faith and Morals. But in the name of our Most Merciful God, hold with Holy fear, Holy respect and reverence the greatest gift in our modern times, that which Jesus gave Saint Maria Faustina for our modern times, Devotion to the Divine Mercy. God is truly Merciful, and only when His Mercy is exhausted will we have to bear the Just Judgement we all deserve. The thought of this is terrifying to contemplate. And none of us could withstand what we truly deserve for our sins and transgressions. Sorry my friend but your post filled me with a sense of horror. I think I must stay away from this thread, it is very dangerous. If you read the messages Jesus gave Saint Maria Faustina, He will first offer us amnesty through His unfathomable Mercy. Has it ever occurred to you that the year of Mercy you so easily bash, could be the very year of Amnesty promised by Jesus, and brought to us by Pope Francis above all popes. And if we refuse Jesus Mercy, He will save us through His Justice. Of course we know this salvation is not everyone without exception; some will refuse but we will enter Heaven or Hell as a result of the mysterious workings of God, by our own free choices. And this is a certainty, whither we like it or not. Has anyone noticed the year of Mercy in 2016 was the year the brick was removed at the opening of the Holy Door on which the name of Donald Trump who had been prayed for at every Holy Mass offered at the Vatican since the previous Holy Door was sealed some years earlier. I am beginning to believe, God has chosen Donald Trump as a means to give USA one last chance to repent and return to him; before He unleashes His terrible judgement on America. Don't ever underestimate the workings of God's Mercy either in the poor Roman Catholic Church or in any other place on the face of God's earth. Bashing the exposed sins of the hierarchy is one thing; but bashing the Mercy of God is too dangerous to contemplate. Peace to you.
There is one thing Michael Voris said which I can't understand if it is true. He said that a full report on a lot of this had been presented to Pope St John Paul 2 and the saint said tah he already knew about it all, but, closing the folder of evidence said, 'There is nothing I can do' I hope this is not true but leaves me baffled. Of course if this was all going on in the USA , the goodness only knows what was going on in Europe and the rest of the world...
One good thing about all this is that it has taught me a quite considerable amount of humility; I used to look down my nose at the goings on of the various Protestant Sects. I am certainly not doing that anymore. I am also aware of how incredibly innocent and naive I was.
http://whatisupwiththesynod.com/ind...gs-good-bishops-can-do-to-re-earn-some-trust/ Things “good” bishops can do to re-earn (some) trust Hilary WhiteJul 21, 2018 in Church of traitors Back in Dallas in 2002, the US bishops gave themselves a pass. They put this Dallas Charter on clerical sex abuse up in front of the cameras, a thing that brazenly shifted blame, and said the whole affair was over and-can-everyone-please-go-back-to-respecting-us-now… Frankly, the only people fooled were themselves. The Dallas Charter specifically excluded their own from the regulations, focusing on the media-generated phantasm of “pedophile priests”. LifeSite and a few others climbed wearily back onto the housetops to start shouting – again – that the whole thing was a whitewash, and that the facts clearly indicated that 1) it was the preponderance of homosexuals in the priesthood and episcopate that was to blame 2) the victims were almost never children, but adolescent males 3) that bishops were guilty of collusion by shifting blame and covering up. And, now… McCarrick. Of course, LifeSite were among the majority who had known about McCarrick all along. It was the worst kept secret in the Church. In fact, the same could be said for the entire homosexual nightmare in the Catholic institutions. Rod Dreher is collecting data on how much this was true, and how much everyone knew, and how tightly controlled the bishop-silence was, and remains. And how this includes the “good” bishops, the men most people who hold the simplistic “conservatives vs. liberals” narrative have always held to be the “good guys”. The level of denial required to imagine that there is a group of “good bishops” out there working against the badness in the Church reaches into the range of the psychotic. But it is out there still. And the men who want to be seen as the good guys, making all the right noises, are capitalising on it. Today this post from Bishop Thomas Joseph Tobin, dubbed the “good Tobin” (with increasing irony, it should be noted) turned up in my feed today, and it’s hard to believe. Despite the egregious offenses of a few, and despite the faults and sins we all have, I’m very proud of my brother bishops and I admire and applaud the great work they do everyday for Christ and His Church. — Thomas J. Tobin (@bishoptjt) July 19, 2018 I think the “good” Bishop Thomas Joseph Tobin of Providence Rhode Island learned an uncomfortable lesson today from the responses he got. I think we’re up to 94 responses, and I only saw two that were praising him for it. The only apt description of the response: “blinding hot rage.” Most people there, with the possible exception of myself, were pretty polite about it, there weren’t any Bad Swears, but it’s easy to see that this kind of self-congratulatory PR blither isn’t going to fly ever again. We want you gone. That’s the long and the short of it. The well is poisoned. The bishop brand is toxic. We’re pretty much here: “They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds; there is none who does good. They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one.” And we’re about ready to run the entire boatload out on a rail. It shows me that my suspicion is correct: in their polite little bubbleverse they have no idea that the peasants are getting ready with the pitchforks and torches, that plans for DIY gallows are being Googled… In seriousness, I think they don’t understand that there are laity who are working right now on creating financial endowments to build churches and fund priests completely outside the episcopal structures. That laymen are grouping together to buy convents for nuns because they’re sick of bishops destroying religious orders. It’s been decades since they started grouping together to do homeschooling so they could keep their kids out of (what remains of) Catholic schools, to safeguard them bodily and spiritually. So, I thought I’d try to be fair. I thought maybe I’d assume that Bishop GoodTobin is actually a decent guy who means well, (I know; stop laughing) and that this little thing was just a bit of bad timing or a misplaced effort to help. A bit of totally tone deaf PR, maybe on the suggestion of a lawyer or chancery official. Completely, utterly, inappropriate – like making a bawdy joke about the deceased to the widow at a funeral. But not completely malicious. (Let’s pretend, anyway…) To all bishops taken aback by the current seething rage of the laity, here are some things you can do, for realsies and no irony, that would win back a modicum of trust. 1. Publicly denounce – BY NAME – bishops whom you personally know are homosexuals and/or sexual predators. But not the ones we already know about from the press. Let’s hear about the ones who haven’t been outed yet that are known to you personally. 2. Petition the pope, PUBLICLY, for them to be removed, excommunicated and laicised. 3. Say – PUBLICLY AND LOUDLY – that such offenders are not welcome in your diocese. 4. Personally launch and pay for an independent, TRANSPARENT investigation of the gay lobby in the Church. 5. Denounce gay priests and throw them out if they complain. 6. Preach yourself and order all your priests to preach the full Catholic teaching – just the 1993 Catechism will be fine – on homosexuality, not just the New York Times-approved bits. 7. Launch a full, independent audit of diocesan finances; publish the findings in the local papers. 8. Launch and personally supervise an independent investigation of priests and Bishops associated in any way with Cardinal McCarrick and any of the other homosexual bishops you know of. 9. Announce a “Zero Tolerance” policy for the preaching of ANY sexual heresy, including the endorsement of books, movies, magazines or any other public speech, for all your priests. One strike you’re out. Go see if the other Tobin wants you. 10. Ban men like Fr. James Martin from ever speaking or preaching or publicly appearing in your diocese for life. 11. Invite the FSSP, the ICK, AND the SSPX to erect personal parishes in your diocese. 12. Invite them to start liturgical workshops for your priests. 13. Prioritise the traditional Mass/Extraordinary Form in your cathedral. 14. Require Latin and training in the Extraordinary Form in your seminary. 15. Ban Communion in the hand; ban extraordinary ministers of holy Communion. 16. Publicly and loudly denounce the USCCB’s embeddedness with the Democrat party. BONUS ROUND: Fly to Italy in a charter plane, pick up Fr. Manelli and any surviving FFIs & FSIs you can find, and fly them back to your diocese and set them up so they can get the apostolate going again. In general, stop smiling and nodding into the cameras as we all watch your wonderful “Brother bishops” destroy what’s left of the Church. ~ Understanding that this is just the first stuff that comes to mind, I’d say this is the minimum. This is the VERY LEAST it is going to take. ~
http://whatisupwiththesynod.com/index.php/2018/07/25/this-is-my-shocked-face-cardinal-farrell/ “This is my shocked-face” – Cardinal Farrell Hilary WhiteJul 25, 2018 in Church of traitors So, this is fun. What’s the name for that thing where an expert examines someone’s facial expressions to see if they’re lying or a psychopath or whatnot? Can’t remember. Anyway, I thought this would be amusing… I posted the video (the “interview” by notorious liberal water-carrier Cindy Wooden) to a Catholic bloggers’ FB group & we sort of noticed that the words, the situation and the face don’t really match up very well. He’s talking about his mentor, a close friend, his flatmate for many years, the man he shared a breakfast table with daily, the man who was instrumental in bringing him to Rome and into his current exalted position. Someone he knew – ahem – intimately for years and years and a “brother bishop” and “prince of the Church”. This man has been found guilty of being a boy-raper. A rapist. A calculating, manipulator and homosexual sex predator and destroyer of children. A monster, in short. This close friend of his. Moreover, Farrell is supposed to be the Catholic Church’s highest ranking officer overseeing family life. It’s sort of the kind of thing he’s supposed to care about. So what sort of facial expressions, if he is indeed “shocked,” do you imagine one might see in an interview, the first interview, about such a horrifying situation? What would your emotional reaction be to learning that your best friend from high school or you college roommate was revealed to have spent his entire life being a serial homosexual child-rapist? Do you think it would show on your face a bit? What sort of reaction would he be expected to have, as a putatively normal human being? What about as a representative of Jesus Christ? Grief at his friend’s horrifying betrayal? Yes, likely. Outrage? Disgust? Anger? Bewilderment? Perhaps some kind of external physical manifestation of this “shock” he is talking about with his lips alone? Well, let’s just take a look, frame-by-frame, just for fun. “I was shocked.” … No, really… this is my shocked-face. And you’ll notice that just as he says this, he turns away from Cindy off camera, to give this sly little look straight into the camera… “Shocked…” “Overwhelmed.” “I didn’t know Cardinal McCarrick before coming to Washington…” “And never… no indication…” “Nobody ever talked to me about that…” “Shocked… Overwhelmed…” “So…I really don’t have any knowledge or anything to add more than that…” I believe him… ~
I've noticed that you often have rather over the top responses to various comments which seem to emphasize your own reaction rather than the actual meaning of the comment and without specifics offered. Where I disparaged the "Devotion to the Divine Mercy" is beyond me. You desire for it to be watered down? Instead I emphasized its true intentions and meaning and the grave sin of the Church against this order from heaven for the sake of the sins of the whole world. "Bashing the Mercy of God" is what is offered by the neglect of this devotion itself, deliberately, by the Church as a whole. My comment therefore gave a much deeper respect for this great offering/Devotion for the world....but the world MUST respond in kind! You don't think so?? And....there are time periods involved. If the entire meaning of this Devotion is not taught the time limit and the growth of hardening of hearts to such will only cause the loss of more souls. Pretty serious to my mind....and apparently to God's. This great opportunity for Mercy at this "instant" has been sorely neglected by the Church.....and mis-used by either completely neglecting the order from the "top" to make this a Feast Day to be honored by every parish the Sunday after Easter....with the Devotion taught in depth, confession emphasized and offered for this Feast and the great gift of all sin and punishment under those rules wiped away explained fully. I guess they think such is either unnecessary at this point or people just don't want it. And they have topped that by being completely and selfishly oblivious (except by a small remnant) even to this need since they HAVE and DO think, expressed in their own personal erroneous teaching about the authentic meaning of mercy, in scripture itself, that no amends or real, concerted change is involved. We ought to be filled with fear and trembling, especially those who have such a responsibility to shepherd the faithful. Anyone who is humble before God's great perfection and His guidance that nothing unclean can come near to Him.....will more fully grasp the seriousness of neglecting God's unfathomable Mercy and understanding then the only other response for them is Justice....and even the Blessed Mother has warned us for decades now that soon she will be unable to hold up that hand of Justice. Perhaps your "sense of horror" has been misplaced. But if my comment alerted you to the seriousness of this great gift then perhaps that's a good thing....since Faustina herself really felt the grave responsibility of her own perfection required by Jesus in order that those who would learn of this mission chosen for her alone would not be corrupted in its true intention!!! Mother Angelica used to emphasize this greatest of gifts and urged those so far away to please take advantage of this major confession opportunity because they will have a great weight lifted and be new people. And if this understanding was given to the whole world by example, how many more conversions to the Faith could have been given to Christ?? And....He won't "save us by His justice" but He will extend this desire of His Will to us through His justice but our free will is involved even for that to be successful. That is why the tears of our Mother flow now everywhere (no need for that if she just figured one way or the other everyone gets saved in the end)....she fears that hearts will become so hardened that even all such efforts by the loving Father can be refused. Better to change now before established habits might tempt one to chance such a time! It's not such an either/or opportunity....esp. since we have no idea just how swift this justice might come or its severity.
I have to be honest Brian, I usually dread your posts, they always seem devoid of charity. But this one is okay by Julia standards. It has a positive element in the suggestions that cheer me up no end. And the humorous bits make it a great joy to read. Well done. And please God a Bishop or two will realise Voris is not the only one lifting the sheet off the holy men in their bunkers.
Malachi Martin related that fact. He said JPII believed the rot was so deep only the Blessed Mother could fix it. That he waited for her to come—I suppose for the reign of the Immaculate Heart. I remember Malachi Martin was very horrified that he would not even try since souls were at stake but ...oh well.
I’m not an optimist nor a pessimist, just a realist. And reality is difficult these days. When you’re keeping a running tab on reality these days in order to wake the slumbering, it’s not a lack of charity on the reporter’s part but a lack of charity in the world at large.
I think we must all try to go carefully down the narrow road without veering into presumption or despair. God IS mercy itself. I’ve lived it. I know it. But sin does grave evil and there are consequences that run through the whole of our lives. I have experienced that as well. And you are right ETA about not waiting to go and get forgiven until you get around to it. It is counting on God’s mercy to suddenly kick in. He may choose to do so but there is NO guarantee. St Alphonso’s Liguori has some pithy words on this.
Agreed Brian. I feel the same. It doesn’t mean my heart doesn’t ache for those choosing the broad road that Jesus warns of but it does mean that I have learned to look straight at the reality around us in the world and in the Church. It is a tragic savage troubling sight.
@EtoA. Here are the very words you posted which turned my stomach. All this gives a deeper definition of just who will, in the end, constitute "the Remnant". So many decades of flinging about this completely distorted version of the "merciful god" and the disingenuous, to be kind, tossing out of a "year of mercy" by the current Pope. Just do some type of ritual but don't dare go to the very core of the "swamp" and all will be saved I have boldened the most offensive paragraph for clarity. If I am over reacting to this kind of attitude to my Catholic Faith, so be it. It is still not acceptable and to be honest not the way a Roman Catholic should be defining the Merciful God or the Holy Doors year of Mercy, which I can bet you never probably made an effort to use from the disrespectful way you describe it. Who knows, maybe you did make at least one pilgrimage, who am I to judge. But the above paragraph quoted from your post suggests you thought it was some sort of a joke. IMHO.
Sorry but -- this is an uncharitable post. I cannot but interrupt and take issue with your rudeness towards Brian a valuable member of our forum!!
Mud glorious mud, nothing quite like it for cooling the blood. So follow me follow, Down to the hollow. And there we will wallow, in mud...Glorious mud.
Thanks for the compliment garabandal, I know I am a useless waste of space, or piece of trash whichever floats your boat; oh sorry, I flatter myself, sounds just like the poor Holy Father according to some on the forum. And I can and should be politically correct in praise and worship for Brian. But he still gets my honest five star praise for the post that got my attention. More of the same please Brian. Peace if it means anything right now.
Sigh. I suspect this is not true. I watched a video of the saint visiting Maynooth seminary in Ireland. He lost his temper at the students getting carried away with themselves. This was not the only time he got angry in public. I suspect he would not put up with this kind of stuff. I like to beleive it was not true. After all he was a saint.
