During the short life of Father Venance, he helped Maksymilian Kolbe create catholic media and he appeared as a great preacher. He assured his fellow brothers that he would do the most ... after his death. That's what happened. The problem with finding a job, buying a car, paying off a high loan, business problems, as well as onerous health ailments - many witnesses confirm that this monk solves every case effectively. Those whom he helped have no doubts: Venance is like Saint Charbel. "I know people who prayed to Father Venance and helped them very quickly, almost immediately. He works like an ATM. I do not know how he does it. Venance befriends people who pray for his intercession." (Tomasz Terlikowski Venance's biographer)
I did a quick search and found something on the internet in French My high school level French found: Born 1889 Died of tuberculosis 1921 Ordained a priest I think Franciscan Met Maximilian Kolbe Had a frail constitution Did much penance I think he might now be venerable His Polish name is Wenanty Katarzniec
About Wenanty Katarzyniec He was the son of a young married couple, Agnieszka and Jan Katarzyniec. They were very poor in material terms, they had only a small piece of land and a small thatched hut. In the memory of people they behaved as unanimous and calm. Many times after finishing the Mass they stayed together for a long prayer. The mother raised religious education of the boy. When he was 4 years old, he knew the whole prayer and the rosary: When she taught him to pray the rosary, he often refused him, even several times a day, although no one persuaded him to do it. Little Venance was distinguished by piety, which other peers of his were difficult to see. It also happened that the "young apostle" preached to children "sermons" in which he said that you must be good, do not hurt others, do not sin, because sins offend God. He had a very sensitive conscience. It was expressed in the fact that he did not take part in "expeditions" on other people's apples or turnips, but he chased his peers for this and advised them to learn moralizing, for which he was often ridiculed. This attitude made children uncomfortable and limited their ill-treatment...
... The boy's favorite fun was to celebrate the Holy Mass at the little house altar. He dreamed of sacrificing himself for God's service. At first it was impossible because he was very poor. He drew on a scholarship and tutoring for life and science. Thanks to his uncommon abilities and unprecedented diligence, he always received glorious testimonies. In 1907, he knocked on a Franciscan monastery in Lviv and asked to be admitted to the convent. The supervisor put him to the test because he instructed him to finish high school first and learn Latin, which he had not studied before. After a year, he brought him a certificate of maturity with distinction, and he could even translate Caesar and Cicero at the Latin exam. The parents tried to keep their son in the world, the more that a great pedagogical career opened up before a talented young man, but he said: "I do not need money, and if I lived a secular life, I could become immoral" ...
... On August 25, 1908, Venance donned the religious habit and began the yearly novitiate. He loved the Franciscan order with all his heart. At the retreat, he decided: "I will keep the slightest sin, even if I die." Purity shone on his face, he loved poverty and mortification. He did not drink any alcohol. He studied philosophy and theology at a seminary in Cracow. He was the forerunner in science, and you would not look for pride in vain. He was able to present the most difficult things on the exams and tutoring, which he willingly gave to his friends, clearly and intelligibly...
Bump I have received graces and blessings through Fr. Venance. I think of his association with St. Maximilian Kolbe often. This sounds very petty, but I have prayed to him that our cat would get well, as she has been sick for years. After another trip to the vet, she was put on an allergy medicine and is so far doing much better, not perfect yet, but much better. I emailed the postulator for this cause. I realize that some people might call this a ridiculous reason to pray, but I had no other recourse. All other prayers had not worked, so for some reason, Heaven wanted it this way, with the intercession of Fr. Venance. He is a wonderful intercessor.
Another Saint who lived in Kracow! I wonder how you prononce, 'Venance'? I will start to pray to him today. It is always wonderful to make a new firend in heaven
Interesting as I have been developing a devotion to St Maximillan Kolbe since the new year ~ now this new connection
I think this is wonderful. A beloved pet is not nuthin'. So glad Fr Venance intervened. I knew nothing about him. I must find out. I need intercessors Bigly. (To use a DJT invented adverb)
St Max Kolbe has been a favorite of mine since the late 70's when I sent away for a book about him. I was so moved. His devotion to Our Lady made him a very great saint. More proof that she is our easiest and safest path through the narrow gate.
Im flying a polish flag in my room. Praying to m kolbe all the time. And went to Krakow, the shrine of mercy and SR. Faustina converted my wife there. And JP II praying for our family, we have peace now after years of trouble since that pilgrimage to our mother of Czestochowa and Krakow. And now thanks to u guys I found another polish intercessor. Partly Polish as I am I am hoping to maybe move the family there. But will be hard, give up career basically. Anyway, thank you
God has blessed you and your family, Frank. Follow the lead of the Holy Spirit. May God grant you and your loved ones many graces through the intercession of Fr Venance.
Lovely witness Frank to the deep power and devotion of the Catholic faith in Poland. Real muscular faith! Good for you. I hope your dream of moving to Poland comes true but as HH says wait on the Lord . He will open doors for you if that is where He wants you. God bless!
