Yes, although what is surprising and worrying is how accepting people are of all this. There were some protests, but people on the whole accept State control of their children, even in very extreme circumstances. If we are willing to surrender our children then there is nothing we would not give up to the State.

    Wonderful .

I did notice in this case that the doctors did not actually know what was wrong with the child; which seems incredible.

This is the truth of the matter 100%.

I understand the rights of the parents but I disagree with them completely, I can guarantee that if my child were facing the same fate and the public were up in arms over it and protesting I would never in 100 years ask them to stand down. I'd be there in the midst of them and after, I would raise hell especially considering those who would come after us who might face the same over reach on the part of a tyrannical government.

Don, I have no doubt you would go to the Gates of Hell for your child, but take into account that the parents here aren't long out of childhood themselves; had already fought a long battle against the state, with the apparent connivance of the local Church with this state; were certainly at the end of their tether with spiritual and physical exhaustion; had probably been faced with deadly and ruthless threats against their livelihoods and possibly against their immediate family (the UK state is all-embracing and increasingly totalitarian-it is the liberal future); realising the game was increasingly looking to be up for poor little Alfie, it is not for us to do anything but respect the awful decision they were impelled to make.

Looking at it coldly, the UK state could have made a case that I, personally, could have respected but disagreed with, that if they genuinely believed that Alfie was non-viable without extraordinary means, they might have argued that limited resources called for their diversion to more urgent and hopeful cases. However, the transfer of Alfie to Rome was not going to cost the UK a penny, indeed would almost certainly have saved quite a bit of money-yet, they still absolutely refused to countenance even giving the little chap this small chance. This is where the evil involved can't be talked away. The agenda here is something other than limited resources. This, in turn, brings into severe question whether or not their belief in the non-viability of Alfie's condition was genuine.

Pope Francis, to his great credit, and the Italian state effectively called the bluff of the UK state. We have all been dealt a salutary, if chilling, lesson by this episode.

    Outrageous

Harvesting body parts (especially) of the living is so repugnant; having the right in law to do so is worse.

Keeping this activity secret from family, relatives or friends with no repercussions is evil.

Our Society seems to have accepted this and is evidence it has degenerated to a very low level.

    God Bless

I think that Alfie's parents wanted to have some peaceful moments with their son before he passed and it appears that Tom Evans wanted to help calm the situation regarding the people who were coming to the hospital to protest.

Supporters of Alfie's parents protested outside the hospital, prompting its bosses to defend staff who they said had endured a "barrage" of abuse.

On Monday, a group of protesters tried to get into the hospital after the ECHR refused to intervene.

Merseyside Police is investigating claims patients and staff had been intimidated.

On Thursday, Mr Evans thanked supporters but asked them "to go home" so the parents could build a relationship
with the hospital to provide the toddler "with the dignity and comfort he needs". http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-43933056

It is possible that Alfie's Army will help change things in the future but they have to feel like there is a chance that they can do so. Bella posted that Alfie's parents signed some document so they would no longer speak to the news, I pray that is not the case but if they did I think that they could certainly state that they were under duress at the time.

    The following article states,

Officials in Poland and Italy criticized Britain's courts and state-run National Health Service. A leading right-wing politician
in Italy, Veneto Gov. Luca Zaia, said that in Alfie, the "so-called civilized world has supplied the latest proof of enormous incivility."

I pray that more people will wake up because of what happened to Alfie Evans and other children like him and help parents fight for their rights.

About 1,000 people gathered 12 hours after the boy died to release blue
and purple balloons in solidarity with the grieving mother and father...*

I appreciate everyone’s posts on this thread.
I hope for blessings to come out of this great loss and sadness since so many prayers have been sent to God.
I am still reluctant to let go of my suspicions surrounding the undiagnosed illness of this little boy. Maybe as time goes on, the truth will come out.
    It is a travesty.

  8. IF this report is true then this child did not even rate to have what every child should have, just basic natural care if nothing else:

Baby Alfie passed away this morning at 2:30 AM.

Baby Alfie was taken off of life support earlier this week.
The doctors said he would die within minutes.
    But he lived.
So they starved him for four days
British doctors would not allow Baby Alfie to leave their hospital to seek help in Italy.

I think that some of the criticisms of the hospital are OTT. Claiming that they starved him for four days is an example of the kind of hysterical reporting which could well be inaccurate if little Charlie's body wasn't able to process the food. I think that the parents should have been permitted to take him to Italy for palliative care. That the hospital in Liverpool could give him the same level of care isn't sufficient reason to deny the parents their right to choose where he should receive the care.

  10. IF the hospital experts led others to think that the baby's condition was so desperate that once they disconnected life support he would die within minutes....and yet that diagnosis was incorrect....by days.....then one would expect, after the short time to prove their diagnosis accurate went by, a different mode of continuing care would go into action. Do people now NOT react to a reality because of what then became necessary to prove? If days went by instead, could one rethink their decision about NOT giving the parents a chance to try out what others had suggested for assistance?

We DO know that in some cases, like Terri Schiavo's, the medical care professionals simply went along with a husband's decision (backed by the euthanasia movement members of the atty and judge) that she WOULD die while loving parents wished to take her home and give her loving care. And they must have known the monstrous dying process of giving not even hydration to a patient. The husband's orders to reduce even the environment surrounding Terri to add to the horror of this plan was surrendered to by the staff as well.

Imagine if the same execution had been attempted upon an unrepentant multiple murderer/rapist. The same progressives would, and quite rightly, be up in arms about it all over the media. However, they are deadly keen not just on euthanasia, but the slow torturing to death of innocent people.

Julia Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.

Loving God and Father of all mankind, embrace little Alfie and bless his little soul. A pure innocent victim soul whom You called to suffer in atonement and reparation for the deadly sins of this society.

May Your most Wise plan be recognised by all souls here, dumbfounded by the reality of Your servants on earth turning our backs on You O Most Holy God, and handing so much power to the governance of men. Poor misguided men.

You O Most Holy One, choose the littlest and the weakest to speak Your Sovereign rights over us, your sinful servants. And You call a mere baby to be the Spiritual David facing the Diabolical Goliath we have foolishly empowered with Your most Holy and Sovereign rights over Your people.

Forgive us O God, and enlighten the eyes of our minds so we can put right with Your help what we have so carelessly allowed to be taken by the evil one; now holding us hostage under so much diabolical disorientation across our societies.

Come Holy Spirit, please descend upon us all,
    Through the powerful intercession
    Of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
Your most chaste and well beloved Spouse. Amen.

RIP Alfie! Your short life was not in vain. Manifest Evil and Evil People were exposed and the Pro-Life Movement was energized!
May God bless and console your Family and Friends. May they be inspired by your struggle and death. AMEN

One of my Krazy thoughts these past few years has been: Perhaps God has established a 10th Choir of these most innocent of innocents? I have no doubt that The Father has made good use of these short lived children like Alfie and all the aborted/murdered babies. There is so much for us to learn and understand when "The Big Picture" is revealed. I Hope & Pray that that Big Revelation comes soon ... Please, Lord!!

    GOD SAVE ALL HERE!!

I keep thinking about the upcoming wedding in the UK that most citizens there and a good part of the world will be watching, the wedding of P. Harry and Meghan M. Imho so long as there is a big crowd that lines the streets along the wedding route on May 19th the people in the UK will never be listened to by their own government.

I don't want to take anything away from Harry and Meghan but just imagine if the crowds on 19th of May were just a fraction of what they have been in the past.
We know what the news would probably say but just imagine if the message was made clear that people did not show up because they want to see change, they want parents to be given the rights that they should have over their children in cases like that of Alfie Evans.

I also know that this would never happen because too many people buy into the nonsense, yeah, it is nonsense that the British Monarch sat idly by and said nothing when the parents of Alfie were fighting for their legitimate rights over their own child's life. Queen Elizabeth is the Supreme Governor of the Church of England and although Justin Welby is the most senior cleric, the Queen still has a very important role in this church but yet she said nothing in defense of Alfie Evans' life.

    It's so, so sad.

All you have said here Carol is so true. Yes there were protestors, but could you imagine if all the spectators of the upcoming wedding equalled those of the Alfie protestors. Would Alfie still be with us today? I am not sure. It is very sad.:(

    Mary's child,
Thank you, I agree. I had the same thought that you did also, if more people spoke out initially things may have gone differently.
It saddens me greatly that if the people in the UK don't do something this can happen again and again.

I know very little about the British medical system and its protocols, can anyone explain why the parents were not allowed to take their child elsewhere for treatment?

I know very little as well, Booklady. One of the reasons that was given is that the child had virtually no brain left, there was no hope for recovery.
They claimed to be acting in the child's best interests. (it goes against the grain that the parents had no rights to decide)
Perhaps someone with more knowledge of the system can comment.
I personally think that, at the very end, the system was deathly afraid to let go of control and let Alfie go to Italy because maybe there the truth about his condition might actually come out. Remember that this boy had been hospitalized in Alder Hey since December, 2016, without a conclusive diagnosis. Also, which might be telling, or it may be just an idle speculation, Alfie was approaching his 2nd birthday on May 9 or thereabouts. That age is the point where parents can sue for damages done by vaccinations.....this is just hearsay from me as I read it on a twitter or facebook account. It does provide a reason why Alder Hey and the courts wanted to dispatch the poor little boy so quickly and definitively. As I posted before, there is more to this case than meets the eye, and there may be more instances such as this as time goes on.
    Sadly.

The suspicious element in all this is not allowing the child to go to Italy. There would be NO cost to Britain. Why refuse—unless as you say they were afraid of what would be discovered. It has a stench of brimstone about it.
