The Vatican Has Fallen

    I like the song too.

The church never approved his locutions either. And clearly never will.
People need to stop being so emotional about the unapproved [as if the faith depended on it].

I was not talking about the messages.

The point I was making is that MAC condemned Fr Gobbi and and the Marian Movement of Priests (as on the road to perdition!).

It is up to the Church to do that.

Ive only pointed out that his messages were false.I am not judging anyones soul.
I expect the church will oneday condemn them. But it is not this day.

But who in the MMP says that? Where is the evidence for that claim?

The MMP are a private association of Catholic clergy & lay people with the sole purpose of consecrating their lives to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

I figured this holy man of God would ruffle the feathers of those who cannot accept God's messengers of this era and their strict limited understanding of what God is unveiling for those who have ears to hear. Especially when the MMP still has such a following, which I am a member of, and their God centered work is still producing faithful clergy and laity. I was fortunate to have listened to him in Omaha in the early 90's and one could feel the presence of our Lady there as well.

Father Stefano Gobbi (22 March 1930 – 29 June 2011) was an Italian Roman Catholic priest. He was born in the Province of Como, Italy and was ordained as a priest in 1964. He later obtained a doctorate in sacred theology from the Pontifical University in Rome. He founded the worldwide Catholic movement, the Marian Movement of Priests (MMP) following an interior locution that he reported in 1972 at the shrine of Our Lady of Fatima

Fr. Gobbi had a close relationship with Pope John Paul II, who also had a personal devotion to the Virgin Mary. Pope John Paul II used to meet with and celebrate Mass with Fr. Gobbi in his private papal chapel in the Vatican on an annual basis for several years. [IMG]

The problem with some on the MOG forum, is that they take the word millenarianism and tie it to all prophecy, even Catholic ones, because they chose not to understand that this term strictly means the literal return of Jesus in the flesh and not in the sense, which God was present to Adam and Eve 6000 years ago, walking and talking with them in paradise, just as he will in the New Era of peace with those living in His Eucharistic reign with those who are living in his Divine Will. Let's make this clear, the church only condemns the protestant theory that Jesus returns in the flesh to dwell with his people and the Catholic faith teaches he only returns in the flesh at the end of the 1000 year reign at the end of the world and the general judgement.

Not really convincing enough - written by someone with an agenda manipulating the evidence to fit into his hypothesis.

    I agree with Akita
But not all priests who venerate Our Lady are associated with Fr Gobbi
    Come on

    Of course not.

But Fr Gobbi and the MMP have been scorned on this forum.

And they are consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Mistaken prophesy does not necessarily imply wickedness. Genuine mistakes can be made. Father Gobbi may well have been a saintly priest and many of his followers, but he may still have erred. It is very prudent of the Church to be so cautious and patient about approval. It is reckless, in my opinion, to pin too many hopes on private prophesy that has not been approved. Even that which is approved is not considered, unlike Scripture and Tradition, to possess certainty and all approved private prophesy is deemed to be conditional. It seems the height of folly to be having heated disagreements about matters of such an uncertain level at a time when those of absolute certainty are being undermined by people at the very highest level of the Church.

I know little or nothing about Fr. Gobbi. I am acquainted with someone whom I consider to be a very holy person and a role model for any Catholic striving to live the faith through prayer and good works. That person was and possible still is a member of a prayer cenacle which had something to do with the MMP. If that person is typical of MMP members, it is to Fr. Gobbi's credit that he founded the movement bur that wouldn't make him a prophet. I didn't read Mac's link because I'm pushed for time.

People live in Christ's Eucharistic reign now every time they receive the Blessed Sacrament. They have done so since the Church was founded.

The effects of original sin which I don't think that even a Pontifical Commission can alter:
    our intellect is darkened
    our will is weakened
our passions incline us to evil
we are subject to suffering and death
Unlike us, Adam & Eve were not affected by any of the above prior to their sin of disobedience. This side of Heaven, being in a sate of grace and receiving the Blessed Sacrament is the closest any of us can get to walking with God as Adam and Eve did in Heaven. How can any era of peace eliminate the residual effects of original sin? I'm not trying to be argumentative by asking that question. I want to know how, this side of Heaven, we can be closer to living in the Divine Will than being in a state of grace, receiving the Sacraments and following the examples of the Beatitudes.

As Luissa's writings clearly teach, there is a distinct difference from doing the will of God that those in the state of sanctifying grace do and living in the will of God, which those who desire to enter into the Era of Peace will possess. The difference is, as our Lord revealed, is those who do the will of God are his servants and those who live in the will of God are his sons and daughters. It is in this same light that his Eucharistic reign will take place in the Era of Peace. Christ will make his presence more explicitly manifest in these times ahead, as the following message in the book God Speaks Will You Listen foretells:

10/23/07 "My people, do not let the sin of unbelief prevent you from entering my rest. I created the world in six days. On the seventh day, I rested from the work of creation as Genesis 2:1-3 states. My people, this era of yours is soon coming to an end. The sixth day of creation is finished. The seventh day will be called the era of peace. This is a mystery which has been hidden from mankind for many years. My prophets have described these times to my people. Isaiah 30:26: And the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun and the light of the sun shall be seven fold, as the light of seven days: in the day when the Lord shall bind up the wounds of his people, and shall heal the stroke of their wound. Now read Isaiah 65: 17-25. This is a description of my era of peace.

To repeat myself, the seventh day of creation is the fulfillment of the era of peace. Now read Apocalypse 20:1-7. These verses also describe the era of peace. The casting of the man of sin and his followers into the pool of fire, marks the end of the 6th day of creation. At that time, I will renew my creation and the seventh day will begin. This day has been described as lasting 1000 years. Remember what my word states: IIPeter 3:8: But of this one thing be not ignorant, my beloved, that one day with the Lord is as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day. The entire era of peace is described as a time period of the seventh day or a thousand years. Only I the Lord God knows the length of the era of peace. During this era of peace, my son Jesus will reign through my Catholic church. This can be called the Eucharistic reign of my son. Do not be confused with the millennial heresy. My son is not going to reign in the flesh in the temporal City of Jerusalem. This is a heretical teaching. My son is going to reign in his Eucharistic glory in the New Jerusalem, which is my church.

My son will only return in the flesh at the end of the era of peace or human history, to judge mankind at the last judgment. Time will not exist during my era of peace, as you understand it. Apocalypse 20:5-6 states: The rest of the dead lived not, till the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection. In these the second death hath no power. But they shall be priests of God and of Christ: and shall reign with him a thousand years. This first resurrection occurs in the era of peace. My saints will be resurrected and receive glorified bodies and walk among my people, teaching and instructing the Catholic faith. This has been described as the temporal kingdom by the Church Fathers. This will be the Promised Land my children of Israel will inherit. My Will will be done on earth as it is in heaven".

I totally agree. I have come to the place where I just don't take to heart that is not specifically and directly judged worthy of belief by the Mahisterium. Someone said earlier-- maybe Praetorian--that he sticks to preV2 prophecies and revelations. I agree. I think we meet the criteria St Paul laid out: "I would not have you unaware brothers..." In Thessalonians when he describes the antiChrist. we are not unaware. We have the Church fathers the Magisterium snd many saints and blesseds who have laid if out. It occurred to me today at Mass that just as we are struggling to discern fake news on the material level we are also being inundated with fake news on the spiritual level. I have to fight against inordinate curiosity about "times and seasons"-- I am surrendering it to Jesus. He knows. He won't abandon me. When the time is right and not a minute before He will provide me with what I need to know.

'When the time is right and not a minute before He will provide me with what I need to know.'

Yes but isn't it possible He might do so through a mystical event ' Not approved'?

It would be nice to have the Holy Spirit in some kind of box. But in my own experience just when you have Him nailed He jumps out of the box to bite you on the ass. :):)

If you look at say, John the Baptist or Jesus Himself no religious authorities give any kind of nod of approval, in fact the religious authorities of the time not only did not approve but said He was in league with Satan and conspired to murder him.

God is choke full of surprises. For instance the then Cardinal Archbishop of Lisbon condemned the apparitions at Fatima almost as soon as they occurred. The local Parish Priest took a very hostile attitude towards Lourdes. St Faustina 's superiors took a very, very hostile attitude to these and Padre Pio was under the ban from the Vatican (including Popes) for most of his life.

Almost invariably true mystical phenomena are met with very hostile reactions from the powers that be.

As a matter of fact if the Vatican or any other religious authority was positive at once to any mystical phenomena it would make me very, very suspicious about it.

The late Fr Rene Laurentin the foremost Mariologist of his time said that if Lourdes was to occur today the Vatican would never accept it. This of course is quite true. They are throwing young seminarians out all over the world because they say they were converted to the Faith at Medugorje.

To be quite frank I would not trust the current authorities at the Vatican to bless a pair of Rosary Beads for me, never mind engage in deep discerment. In my opinion many of them are not even Catholic.

Absolutely. Can't pin Him down. I know that from experience but I could be running hither and yon in my search for the next "word"--I used to do that some years back. Now I just wait on God. I don't doubt for a minute that He will perhaps provide a mystical event. I pray for the Illumination of Conscience to save souls even though I am really a bit frightened of what I will see. I don't think I or we or any of us have any idea of the extent of the deep ugly taproot of sin that infects all of us in this foul culture of death --just by breathing the fetid air of this time we are in. It takes might and main to stay free of contamination.
