Yes. The trouble with walking through an Irish bog all day is that the bog seems normal. The whole of you world becomes a big bog.

Worse than that you become part of it and even sink below it.

This is where we're at. The Vatican itself has become part of it and has even sunk sunk below the bog.

It is a maxim of the spiritual life that when the best go bad they become the very worst. Rome has become a dwelling place of wolves, vultures and hyenas. A l wrapped up in scarlet silks.

Pope Francis meets with Italy's most prominent abortion advocate, Emma Bonino, whom he has praised as a "forgotten great."

7 reasons why pro-lifers are unhappy with Pope Francis’ leadership

April 19, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) – In the past, among pro-life activists – both Catholic and otherwise – you’d find the biggest fans of the pope. Pope John Paul II was often touted as the worldwide leader of the pro-life movement and Pope Benedict XVI regarded as a major contributor to the intellectual defense of life. But the situation after 5 years of Pope Francis’ pontificate is very different indeed.

Pro-life activists all over the world today will tell you that while they continue to pray for the pope, they are unhappy with the direction the Pope is taking the Church.

Here are some of the main reasons why:

    1) From the outset of the papacy has come an overt shift in focus on pro-life to other concerns. (“We cannot insist only on issues related to abortion, gay marriage and the use of contraceptive methods… I am a son of the church, but it is not necessary to talk about these issues all the time.”)

    2) The sentiment has remained consistent throughout the papacy and has gone from merely interviews into official Church teaching in the latest apostolic exhortation Gaudete et Exsultate. In that document, he equated issues such as immigration and poverty with abortion in contrast to statements from previous Popes.

    3) The approach explains the seemingly incomprehensible praise that Pope Francis lavished on Italy’s most prominent promoter of abortion, whom he called one of the nation’s “forgotten greats” for her work on immigration. Even though unrepentant and an abortion pusher making Cecile Richards look tame, the Pope’s praise for her has led to her speaking at various Catholic churches despite protests from pro-lifers.

    4) Since shortly after the election of Pope Francis there has been a steady stream of population control advocates speaking at the Vatican. These include: Paul Ehrlich, the father of the population control movement; John Bongaarts, vice president of the pro-abortion Population Council; pro-abortion U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon; pro-abortion UN advisor Jeffrey Sachs; and Prof. John Schellnhuber. The head of the Vatican’s Pontifical Council for Sciences, Bishop Marcelo Sorondo, who ran most of those conferences, is himself a population control advocate. Sorondo said on camera at one such Vatican conference that limiting births was an obligation of the Church – something he wouldn’t have dared under previous popes.

    5) There have been numerous appointments and elevations of bishops and cardinals who are hostile to pro-life, alongside a demotion of strongly pro-life churchmen. Examples include Blase Cupich as Archbishop of Chicago and Cardinal despite his reputation for telling priests not to join 40 Days for Life; Belgium’s Cardinal Danneels; Germany’s Cardinal Kasper; and Belgium’s Josef de Kesel. Demotions and removals of strongly pro-life bishops and Cardinals include Cardinals Burke and Muller, Bishop Finn, and Bishop Nienstedt.

    6) He removed the pro-life pledge from the Pontifical Academy for Life. And now appoints pro-abortion members, one of whom recently said the Bible calls for abortion in some cases.

    7) Pope Francis pushed for the passage of the Sustainable Development Goals and praised its passage without reservation. Pro-life groups at the UN, including the Holy See Mission, have fought the SDGs for years because Target 3.7 explicitly calls for “universal access to sexual and reproductive health care services.” The UN defined these terms at the 1994 Cairo conference to mean providing women with “modern contraception” for “family planning” and with “safe abortion” where it is legal.

I want to ask everyone to pray the Rosary.

With the rosary, you will overcome all the troubles which Satan is trying to inflict on the Catholic Church.

Let all priests pray the rosary.

    Give time to the Rosary.

I believe that the following two segments of this week's EWTN's World Over are related to the discussions on this thread.

The following is mentioned in the above segment of World Over, that George Soros transferred $18 Billion to Open Society Foundations.
I am offering the following article here for those who may have missed it this past Fall. I can't remember if Liz Yore mentioned this in her recent talk which was posted above but she might have because I know that she definitely spoke about George Soros as she usually does.

Death Star: George Soros Transfers $18 Billion to Open Society Foundations 10/17/2017
    by Joel B. Pollak http://www.breitbart.com/big-govern...ransfers-18-billion-open-society-foundations/
Left-wing billionaire George Soros has transferred $18 billion to his Open Society Foundations, the primary vehicle for his global political activism and philanthropy.

The transfer, according to the Wall Street Journal, accounts for most of Soros’s foundation, which he accrued through a controversial career as an investor. The Journal notes: “Open Society has vaulted to the top ranks of philanthropic organizations, appearing to become the second largest in the U.S. by assets after the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, based on 2014 figures from the National Philanthropic Trust.”

Soros, who is 87, transferred the funds as part of a plan to make sure his activism continues after he retires or passes away. $18 billion is roughly three times the amount of money spent by all parties, in all races, during the 2016 election cycle, according to OpenSecrets. Though not all of the Open Society Foundations’ activities will be focused on the United States, Soros’ grant easily makes his organization the biggest player on the American political scene.

Globally, Soros is involved in efforts to make Ireland pro-abortion, to demonize the Israeli government, and to promote migration from the Muslim world into Europe across open borders.

Though Soros’s foundation was originally aimed at fostering “open societies” as opposed to authoritarian systems, in recent years the foundation’s work has supported dogmatic, aggressive left-wing groups that disrupt liberal democracy and stifle opposing voices. Soros has funded the Black Lives Matter movement and is considering bankrolling the so-called “resistance” to President Donald Trump. He also backs Media Matters, a so-called “watchdog” group that spends most of its energy trying to eliminate conservatives from the media.

Soros recently named former ambassador and Democratic National Committee official Patrick Gaspard as president of the Open Society Foundations as of the end of 2017.

Joel B. Pollak is Senior Editor-at-Large at Breitbart News. He was named one of the “most influential” people in news media in 2016. He is the co-author of How Trump Won: The Inside Story of a Revolution, is available from Regnery. Follow him on Twitter at @joelpollak.

I have read a lot of things on the "end-times" and yet I'm still unclear as to what will and will not happen and the order in which things will go. But I was under the impression that it was a pretty clear teaching of the Church that the AC will come truly at the end, since when Christ comes in His glory, He will destroy him with the "spirit of His mouth" and the "brightness of His coming". I thought the rough outline of things was supposed to be: Minor chastisement (which may include the Three Days of Darkness and/or the Illumination of Consciences) --> Restoration of the Church/renewal and purification of the world/Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary --> Major chastisement/Great Apostasy/coming of the AC --> The Second Coming. Please explain.

Yes this is quite true and should always be borne in mind.
However, on the other hand what is occurring now is a kind of dry run or mirror effect of the End of Times. A kind of mirror effect.

I believe this confuses our Protestant Sisters and brothers in their own interpretation of what is, effectively a kind of dress rehersal for what will, eventually come ( many generations away) Another good reason for being very cautious with Protestant prophesy. .

On the other hand nothing is written totally in stone. God could, if He wished, since He is Master in His own house, accelerate things and bring them forward.

Think of it like crossing a minefield. If someone were, say , to tread on a mine the whole thing could go off. We have free will and actions have consequences. It is better to think of time as fluid, rather than set in stone, a river, rather than a city street, so to speak.

Nevertheless the above diagram pretty well nails what we should expect. But it is not set in stone.

A certain number of souls have to be born before the End of the World. They have to get their chance, so to speak off being born and having their own place at the Poker Game of Life.

But their number is limited; it is not infinite.

    Hence the End of Time.

You're welcome and thank you for posting the helpful timeline from Blizzard. But why does Fatima say, "we indeed are in for the reign of the Antichrist before the 1000 year Era of Peace that Revelations speaks of prior to the end of the world"?

The official Church position is explained in this EWTN link: https://www.ewtn.com/expert/answers/endtimes.htm

Some Catholics believe that Jesus will destroy the AC without returning to earth and that there will be a thousand years of peace before the end of the world. I think, but am not sure, that it has something to do with Satan being chained for a thousand years and God's will being done on earth as it is in Heaven before Satan is released again. Best to let Fatima explain what he believes. Try as I might, I can't reconcile what he and, for example, Mark Mallet believe with what is contained in the EWTN link.

dcana, much unfolding of scripture has occured in the past 50 years, via many credible prophets/messengers who speak within a prophetic consensus. Some, like Father Gobbi's MMP messages, have imprimatur and make quite clear the Antichrist and False Prophet occur after the Warning then thrown into hell with Satan who is released after the Era of Peace of 1000 years (a figurative time period) whom is released one more time before the end of the world and general judgement of all humanity. The great great apostasy is within the era of the Antichrist and False Prophet, although a final apostasy will occur at the end of the world and general judgement as well, when Satan is released one last time upon the world. As anyone can see, Satan is yet to be bound for 1000 years as the scripture below say's he will be. Revelations 20:4 and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. This is considered the Eucharistic Reign of Christ in the Era of Peace within the Divine Will after the defeat of the Antichrist.

    Douay-Rheims Bible
Revelations 19 [19] And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies gathered together to make war with him that sat upon the horse, and with his army. [20] And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet, who wrought signs before him, wherewith he seduced them who received the character of the beast, and who adored his image. These two were cast alive into the pool of fire, burning with brimstone. [21] And the rest were slain by the sword of him that sitteth upon the horse, which proceedeth out of his mouth; and all the birds were filled with their flesh.

Revelations 20 [1] And I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit, and a great chain in his hand. [2] And he laid hold on the dragon the old serpent, which is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. [3] And he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should no more seduce the nations, till the thousand years be finished. And after that, he must be loosed a little time. [4] And I saw seats; and they sat upon them; and judgment was given unto them; and the souls of them that were beheaded for the testimony of Jesus, and for the word of God, and who had not adored the beast nor his image, nor received his character on their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. [5] The rest of the dead lived not, till the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. [6] Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection. In these the second death hath no power; but they shall be priests of God and of Christ; and shall reign with him a thousand years. [7] And when the thousand years shall be finished, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, and shall go forth, and seduce the nations, which are over the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, and shall gather them together to battle, the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. [8] And they came upon the breadth of the earth, and encompassed the camp of the saints, and the beloved city. [9] And there came down fire from God out of heaven, and devoured them; and the devil, who seduced them, was cast into the pool of fire and brimstone, where both the beast [10] And the false prophet shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

    dcana,

I can't answer for member Fatima and I see that he has given you an answer. As I believe Dolours also stated, I can't reconcile this statement that you have highlighted in your post with what EWTN states about the Endtimes either. Ultimately, I think everyone should discern for themselves but I think that there are many prophecies which follow what you have stated as the chronology for the end time events.

Maybe the following from Saint Robert Bellarmine who is a Doctor of the Church will also help,

"For Antichrist shall come a short time before the end of the world…after Antichrist at once comes the last judgment…the future reign of Antichrist shall be of one thousand two hundred and ninety days duration… Matthew 24: 'This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world, and then shall come the consummation (of the world)’ that is, a little after [Antichrist] shall come the end of the world."

The priest, Father Philip Wolfe, in the video above also has two other youtube videos on this subject, "End Times teaching of St Bellarmine Part 1 and Part 2" and he wrote the foreward to the book featured in the videos, "Antichrist" by Saint Robert Bellarmine S.J.

The Early Church fathers so I'm told believed the Church was given 1000 years to flourish and then the struggles would begin. And Christ's second coming would be just that. A coming unmistakable and final. So from Constantine. To the 1400's we had a vibrant Church. Holding its own against Islam and the heresies that kept attacking.spreading around the world. But then came the Protestant revolt and we've been struggling along ever since. Now we are down to a remnant. This is paraphrasing Malachi Martin. The Church Fathers did not see a 1000 year reign at the end times as I understand it. I'm quoting from memory so I may be on shaky ground but the traditional Church never subscribed to a worldly reign by Christ. When He returns the curtain comes down and the play is over.

    Sorry, no.

The understanding of scripture must agree over the 2000 year history of Christianity, which has universally and continually taught against Millenarianism. The sainted prophets of the 2000 year history of the Church must take precedence over the confusion of the last half century since VII, especially regarding anything possibly colored by Protestant rapture and/or millenarianist thinking.

Brian, please define what you mean by millenarianism. Because, as I have said, Father Gobbi's messages in the "blue book" have imprimatur and many thousands of priest, bishops and cardinals around the world within his Marian Movement of Priests. My guess is your understanding of millenarianism has nothing to do with what I have stated or what anyone I know who teaches the era of peace and living in the Divine Will is all about. But I will wait to hear your definition of millenarianism to give you the benefit of doubt.

They know Millenialism is condemned so they dont call it that.

Emmett has been working on Fr Iannuzzi.......

It is these secular forms of millenarianism which the Catechism most forcefully condemns. Fr. Iannuzzi and his followers attempt to evade the charge of millenarianism by equating it solely with the doctrine of ancient Chiliasm. This is simply untrue, since the secular forms of millenarianism are singled out for the greatest condemnation in the Catechism. Not whether or not there will be some odd, ethereal form of the Second Coming of Christ for an earthly millennial reign, and that by posing a "spiritual millennium", that the followers of Fr. Iannuzzi can escape the charge of millenarianism. Joachim de Fiore similarly posed an "Age of the Spirit" rather than an coming of a reign of Christ in the Flesh, and was condemned for this idea long ago.

There is an article in today's Catholic Thing by Fr. Gerald E. Murray about a Holy Thursday sermon by Pope Francis, in which the latter attacked what he claims as the idolatry of certain truths. This is a significant 'advance' upon 2+2=5. As an idol is, by definition, false, it is now being claimed that (inconvenient) truth can be false. The consequences of such a philosophy, which is applicable to any truth one might wish to mention, are nothing but sheer chaos and nihilism. Any truth can be dismissed by this mode of 'thinking' as idolatrous. The safest route would appear to be to believe nothing. If any truth in this Alice in Wonderland world can be idolatrous, it is impossible to deny that all truth is idolatrous. Truth, of course, can only be blasphemously deemed as 'idolatrous', as it is of God. All truth derives from God. All idols derive from the devil. Our Lord is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

Unfortunately, everything I have just said, and Father Murray's article too, could be dismissed as a 'truth idol' by Pope Francis' universal solvent. I suspect all faithful Catholics are being gradually softened up for a major condemnation of their beliefs.

It is the End Point of Relativism. If Truth is inconvenient, invent a new , ' Truth'. It reminds me of words of Pontius Pilate to Jesus, 'What is Truth'. To which Jesus responds, 'I am the way the truth and the life'.

Relativism is the ulitmate cynicism. I think people who are caught up in this fog must be very ,very, very sad individuals indeed. Like people who never see the sun.
