Just to be clear: Those weren't my words you quoted. They were from the satirical piece by the blogger named Eccles. I think that Fatima answered your question by quoting someone qualified to answer it, which I'm not. Considering that his health prevents him kneeling or genuflecting, I don't think Pope Francis would risk climbing any ladders.
Blizzard, I am so tired tonight, so I thought I was seeing things (again ) and I wish that was true that nothing gets past me. Have you read the information included in the link that I posted from Dupont on the Antichrist yet? I think that it is very good but in my opinion we can read and read and read some more about the end times and just end up going around in circles about some things like the Antichrist. If the prophecies from Our Lady of Garabandal are from heaven (and I believe that they are) it appears that there is a falling away from the Faith and a man-made tribulation, and then the Warning (& Miracle) and then hopefully mankind has a renewal of the Faith (this is what I think Mark is discussing in the article that you posted, an era/period of peace) and then a Chastisement directly from God (fire from heaven?) if there is another falling away which many believe is the time of the Anitchrist's 3.5 year reign. I think that this is the way that Yves Dupont looked at the prophecies of Our Lady of Garabandal and therefore, he felt that they did not at all contradict other approved Catholic prophecies. http://www.1260.org/Mary/Apparitions_Garabandal/Garabandal_Apparitions_Chastisement_en.htm
I couldn't find the term "Authentic Magisterium" at Fr Hardon's website. There are some articles by different websites trying to explain it, but in my quick skimming of the articles, they sounded somewhat contradictory.
Praetorian, it would be good if you could provide a link to that source. That's a bit hard to accept. PF sprang to my mind too when praying the Divine Mercy novena yesterday. But as you rightly point out, his preaching is of a false mercy - where even Jesus Christ is 'upstaged', because there is no need for repentance and a firm purpose of amendment of life. Imho, the pope she referred to is Pope Benedict XVI. Her visions really seem to speak of our current times.
In considering: *everything that has happened and is still happening; *prophecies, including those of Blessed Catherine Anne Emmerich, St Malachy (list of popes), Venerable Fulton Sheen, Mother Mary (at Quito, La Salette, Fatima, Garabandal, Akita) *the permanent instruction of the Alta Vendita, *Bella Dodd's testimony about the infiltration of communists into the priesthood right up to the highest levels even back when she spoke, *the refusal to release the 3rd secret of Fatima in 1960 and its coincidence with the Vatican II council, *the utter devastation of our Church since Vatican II *Freemasons rejoicing at the election of Pope John XXIII (and more recently Pope Francis), *Father Luigi Villa's (he who was told by Padre Pio that Jesus Himself had chosen him to fight Freemasonry within the Church) expose of the unsavoury facts surrounding Pope Paul VI and Pope John XXIII *Pope Paul VI's statement that 'from some crack the smoke of satan had entered the Vatican' - (tie this in with Malachi Martin's The Windswept House and the occult happenings at the Vatican) *the Vatican attempt to release their version of the 3rd secret of Fatima in 2000 and thus close the lid on the Fatima messages/era; but later in 2010 Pope Benedict said that it would be mistaken to consider the prophetic mission of the apparitions at Fatima complete. *the failure to consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary exactly as she specified *the strange circumstances surrounding Pope Benedict's resignation (also remember the ominous lightning strikes on St Peter's dome) - the words he said when elected (pray that I shall not flee for fear of the wolves), feeble excuses he gave for resigning (can't travel to World Youth Day etc) *the expanded Petrine ministry he spoke of and later affirmed by Archbishop Ganswein (something that is impossible), his retaining the title of Pope (emeritus), the papal white (feeble excuse of no black cassocks available to wear), him remaining on vatican grounds *the openly stated hints in the speech that he gave when announcing his resignation, that he will always be pope *Father Gabriel Amorth's statement about satan being in the vatican and he also mentioned what Padre Pio said to him( “One day Padre Pio said to me very sorrowfully: ‘You know, Gabriele? It is Satan who has been introduced into the bosom of the Church and within a very short time will come to rule a false Church.") *the atrocities happening at the Vatican now and heresies propagated by PF..... imho, Pope Benedict's resignation was made under duress and is not valid. That means that PF is either not pope, or he is an anti-pope.
Yes, hard to accept. In truth, we really don't know what happens in the Vatican. It's also possible that some Cardinals campaigned to have Pope Benedict elected although nothing about Pope Benedict suggests that any election campaign would have had his approval. Could be although I think it possible that what she saw applied to more than one Pope and could have been brief glimpses of something that would play out over a long period of time, rather like the trailer for a movie. I don't know whether it will help clarify anything, but there's reference to the Pope's Authentic Magisterium in Lumen Gentium which Pope Paul V1 issued after Vatican 11 - see paragraph No. 25: http://www.vatican.va/archive/hist_...s/vat-ii_const_19641121_lumen-gentium_en.html I think we all could benefit from reading Lumen Gentium especially because, according to this report in Crux, Pope Francis is about to issue another Apostolic Exhortation: https://cruxnow.com/vatican/2018/04/06/a-new-apostolic-exhortation-is-coming-what-is-that-anyway/ An excerpt from the Crux report: "The unveiling of Gaudete et Exsultate (“Rejoice and be glad”), subtitled “On the call to holiness in the contemporary world” will take place on April 9 at noon Rome time. It will be presented at a news conference led by Bishop Angelo De Donatis, the vicar general of Rome, and two laypersons: Gianni Valente, an Italian journalist; and Paola Bignardi, former president of Catholic Action in Italy." Chapter V of Lumen Gentium is about the Universal Call to Holiness so it's possible that there's another Pope Francis style development of doctrine in the offing. One of those two laypersons leading the news conference will be Gianni Valente who writes for LaStampa. A LaStampa journalist leading a news conference for a Pope Francis document would be akin to a CNN journalist leading a news conference for an Obama or Clinton document. Considering the scope of Lumen Gentium, the very thought of Pope Francis developing anything mentioned in it is enough to give me nightmares.
Regardless of infallibility, this declaration really attributes magisterial authority to a particular interpretation of Amoris Laetitia ('Amoral lay-teaching' as Eccles once described it), rather than to AL itself. This interpretation appears it could be a heretical one. Strictly speaking, the Pope's magisterial declaration on the Argentine bishops' statement may very well be a condemnation of Amoris Laetitia, rather than an endorsement of it. He is dashed clever.
Ha ha! Mind you, that skeleton seems a bit rigid, with too prominent a spine. Probably a neo-Pelagian, but its former owner knows the outcome of all that already, obviously.
Haha! A rigid, self-absorbed, Promethean neo-Pelagian skeleton - love that! Probably became like that from counting beads! At least he can´t be accused of being a "liquid Christian"!
I think we have the warning, the miracle (or miracles as miraculous signs may be left at more than one apparition site), the chastisement and THEN the era of peace (symbolically referred to as lasting 1,000 years) but what do I know. I believe this is also Mark´s take.
I think it is simply that God gives the Church what is deserves. The Church clergy in overwhelming numbers had lost their salt before Pope Francis came along. Seems to me the defacto schism within the church that Father Hardon spoke of during retreats in the 80's and early 90's was well embedded and making huge headway before Pope Francis took office. Yes, there were good things to come out of the papacies of JPII and Benedict, but at the same time much evil, which I believe they knew about, was going on behind the scenes and that is what Pope Benedict could no longer fight and stomp out. Inside the Vatican itself lied a wall of prelates who had already sold their souls to Freemasonry and it was worse yet in many parts of the world. Bottom line, I believe, Pope Benedict was told by God that the time had come for the purification of the Church and the world, as his very own prophecy given in 1969 had indicated would come (which Pope JPII 1984 consecration to the world delayed). Some on this forum may not believe that God speaks to his servants, but I do. Pope Benedict was and is a very wise servant of the Lord. He knew the time was up and he would not fight the will of God. For anyone with eye's to see and ears to hear, we can plainly see the great confusion that entered the Church when Pope Benedict resigned. The purification was foretold in so many prophecies of old and new and some cannot still accept that God had a plan and what we are witnessing, as painful as it is, the beginning of a new age that too has been foretold in scripture and many prophecies of old and new. Yet, God has provided all we need to persevere and not the least of which was the Feast of Divine Mercy we celebrate tomorrow that can ready the souls who will fight the good fight and run the good race. We know who wins and we have been chosen by God to live in this era of struggle for the truth and enter into the 7th day of rest when the world will be purified of all its ugliness and start anew. It's all been foretold and we are privileged by God to be his workers in his vineyard and help bring about the Era of Peace our Lady of Fatima spoke of 100 years ago.
A bit off topic but it has always struck me as absolutely absurd that mental disorders (of which there are 300 documented and verified) are a diagnosis in which not one single lab or blood test is required to confirm the presence of disease or actual physical ailment and yet the most severe forms of drugs are readily prescribed for. Ones which induce in some people extreme acts of violence in fact and suicides. Ones in which 1 in 6 people are actively taking today here in the US. Ones which are given to children for things such as hyper activity. So many in fact that they say our water is polluted with the residuals. Quite the act of faith on the part of our esteemed medical specialists I would say. What I enjoy the most about Dr Peterson's Q&A sessions and lectures is that they really bring to light the level of our understanding of the complexities of man. Reason is simply not alone adequate to define or even describe these complexities IMO. All it seems to actually do is reveal mankind's rather infantile attempts to explain the mystery which God has created while puffing ourselves up about it. It is easy to worship at this alter of understanding and completely discount any spiritual state of man and the world in which we live. Let alone a solution. I am not saying that this is not a valid form of observation and in some cases treatment, only that the world worships this understanding and we reap the fruits of it which should tell us something rather profound but unfortunately is willfully ignored.
Blizzard, Well, if Mark says so. All kidding aside. What you have stated is a good example of what I am referring to, it is very confusing. I believe that what Yves Dupont states about the Antichrist agrees with what both Rev. Culleton and Desmond Birch state about the Antichrist also. The following is from Dupont's article on the Antichrist, "...the Millenium theory has been condemned by the Church...There may be a certain period of peace between the fall of Antichrist and the Second Coming of Christ, but it will not be a long one and cannot be called a 'Millenium'... ...St. Paul says that the Antichrist will be destroyed by the brightness of the coming of Christ. Well, if a Millenium is to be fitted between the punishing 'Brightness' and the actual arrival of Our Lord upon earth, it seems that it would take a mighty long time for Our Lord to come down from heaven! Is this the 'twinkling of an eye' of Holy Writ? Can a twinkling of an eye last 1000 years or, for that matter, even 100 years? On the other hand, if we say that the Millenium is to come after the coming of Christ, then we are simply spreading a Protestant heresy. If, in the economy of salvation, there is another 1000 years to intervene after the coming of Christ, it will not be and cannot be part of human history. It can only be a spiritual, or physically glorified, New Earth and/or New Heavens, the exact nature and the purpose of which is completely beyond human knowledge. This question has been debated by the greatest theologians and Doctors of the Church and, to my knowledge, none has presented his particular findings as positive truth, whilst many have taken pains to explain that no absolute certainty could be reached in this field of research, except that Christ will not reign visibly on earth, and that His Second Coming is indeed the end..." https://documents.tips/documents/yves-duponts-commentaries-on-private-prophecy.html
While human medicines and therapy can help some mental ills, it is apparent to me the antidote of choice today is exorcism from a priest. We often think as the world does that these less than normal mental conditions are man made, man solved. A little study of biblical history and we can see that many of the illnesses of today were the same as those before and at the time of Christ. Jesus and his apostles spent a fair amount of time performing exorcisms, as it was demon possession that caused many of the mental illnesses then and it perhaps more so today. Satan has never been more powerful in the world than today. We need holy priests, holy confessions, holy communions, holy masses, holy water, holy sacramentals and yes, even holy exorcisms to defeat God's adversary today. All the man-made medicines in the world won't help one bit against the evils that Satan has been implementing in souls today.
