The cross-party commitee on abortion has voted for a referendum to repeal our 8th Amendment to the Constitution, in order to allow murder of the unborn.

So keen for blood is our Minister for 'Health', that he has his department already working on legislation for the proposed regime. This will also include legislation to preclude the establishment of back-street abortion clinics. This will ensure the Department of Health retains all the profit from this lucrative business.

May the Lord God have mercy on us all.

If Ireland bring this in it will be the last straw in terms of God's mercy on Ireland, I believe.

They just can’t wait to drag poor Ireland into this murderous “league of nations” can they? Look what happens! It puts a curse on a country. We have been up to our necks with it here. I often ponder the fall out from “corporate” sin and the loss of grace that accompanies it. Things weren’t great in 1973 when that iniquitous law was passed in the US but they were are a darn sight better than now! It has been a long slog to the bottom of the abyss. Poor Ireland. It really is worship of Baal. All the pretty words they use come right down to sacrificing children on the altar of Baal.

pray pray pray and get active with pro life. I attended an excellent talk last night on the issue . john waters and kathy synott spoke to us. The bottom line for me was we have 5 months to save our country and our heritage. Be prepared to leave your blood ln the floor. If the government succeed we at least can say I did what I could.

PRAY like you have never prayed before!

I read this article earlier today https://www.irishtimes.com/opinion/...late-for-voluntary-service-1.3323270?mode=amp and reflected on how the Catholic faith and so much good was spread around the world by the Irish for so long and also how we had managed to keep that faith even during mighty oppression from the largest and strongest empire at the time. Of course this meant we were first in line for attack by you know who... First we sold out financially, then our clergy and seminaries were attacked and deeply wounded, then we sold out on marriage and the family and now the innocents...

Our country has fallen so far so fast, we are the bottom Lord, rescue us!

...coming from Northern Ireland, I have the option of choosing a British or Irish passport. I have chosen the British passport. This would be unheard of in years gone by, an Irish catholic choosing a British passport!!!
My children have British passports too.
I’m ashamed to call myself Irish. You are correct BridgitK., Ireland has fallen. But I’m not taking my family down with it.
Sinn Fein have sold out the Irish people. Dragged us right down into the gutter.
They used (and continue to use) the banner of Irish nationalism as a means to bringing-in a leftist agenda that promotes abortion etc. etc. Many people follow them blindly.
Our innocents.. God forgive Ireland for choosing this abominable path. Our wonderful innocents..

Honestly, I await a chastisement for our country. Our beautiful land I expect will face the wrath of the almighty. And rightly so..

Yes we are in the fight of our lives here. They want to go from pretty much the most restrictive abortion regime in the world - outside Malta anyway - to the most liberal overnight.

In the 2nd sorrow of Mary: the flight into Egypt; Herod slaughtered the innocents. I’ve considered it often as the 7 sorrows rosary is my favourite prayer. I say it daily. I recommend it to anyone and everyone.
I never thought my own country would engage in such an abomination.
God save Ireland and it’s babies..

If I lived in the North, I'd be voting for the DUP. They are the only ones sound on the social issues. Social issues have come to be of far more importance than trifles such as national sovereignty. I think your points about what Irishness has come to stand for and about the moral corrosiveness of Sinn Fein are right on the money. The inevitable consequences of appeasing terrorism.

A chastisement for this could be on the cards alright.

I have been wondering about the fall out from Brexit. It was voted in a month after this country 'celebrated' the first anniversary of our "progessive" decision on marriage. Love of money and greed has greatly contributed to Ireland's decline. The UK are our biggest trading partner and were our only real ally in the EU. Now we are not sure how it's all good to work out with them, or with the North and we won't matter at all to the EU...

Another Herodist, a Senator Catherine Noone (in Ireland, a senator is an electoral candidate favoured by the party establishment who fails to be elected by the people and is appointed instead) has tweeted to complain about an 'octogenarian' priest who three times mentioned the abortion issue at Easter Mass. She says she doesn't expect to be 'confronted' with this kind of thing at Mass. Someone should helpfully direct the senator to the time and location of her local Black Mass, which would be more appropriate to her expectations. We should not be surprised to see a quick move to introduce euthanasia as a follow-up, given her ageist attitude, if the ghouls succeed. One may hope, on the other hand, that such obscenities will backfire-she has already, apparently, deleted her tweet.

Fr Heilman started a worldwide rosary novena for Ireland starting yesterday to "save the eighth ". I've joined. Anyone else wanna join in? I think this is a real spiritual watershed. I think we should all fight for Ireland with every spiritual weapon we've got.

I totally understand why you feel that way Jackzokay but I'm not ashamed to be Irish and to carry the passport. The enemy running our land will never make me feel that way.
We were the nation that evangelised Europe and beyond. Our ancestors sacrificed & died for their faith so we were always going to be targets of Satanic attack. 1500 years is nothing in eternity. The serpents have come back with a vengeance because Ireland has forgotten who she is.
But things will change, primarily if the remanent left will pray, fast and believe it will. The trouble is many of the remanent act as if we are already doomed. Things may get a whole lot worse before they get better but our faith must come to the fore in times like this I heard some time ago that a member of a lay religious community here in Ireland, while praying for the country, received in prayer that the re-evangelization of Europe would start again in Ireland. I have to admit when I heard this it was hard to see and still is but you never know. .........

It’s difficult to argue with your faith, Star.
If the Lord wills us a return to the faith, then there’s no doubt it will happen. That said, it perhaps may take something gigantic to stir Ireland out of its current course.
I believe, like many, that Ireland needs much prayer. But it also requires people to speak out. To make a stand, however small that stand happens to be.

The land is beautiful. I enjoy hillwalking and I never cease to wonder at what He created here.
But the people have lost their faith. And marriage and family are under attack. Abortion is coming. And the majority of Irish people cheer or shrug.
They claim to be Irish. They’re not. Irish-ness has been usurped, redefined. I want no part of it.

I know I’m pessimistic. I apologise for it... genuinely

I had no doubt, reading this, but that you are genuine. I still have hope, if we save the Eighth, with the help of God, that it might represent a turning point.

Yes. You're right. It's wrong to despair. Sometimes I indeed despair.
I'll say a wee decade shortly for our unborn.
    We fight on!
