Reading the comment box on the OnePeter5 website, it might or might not be the atom bomb. There can't be any doubt that it's an "I dare you" to the dubia Cardinals. Pope Francis said that he could be the Pope who splits the Catholic Church. I suppose that some would call him a prophet, although I'm not sure if predicting a possible event and then setting out to make sure it happens would qualify as authentic prophecy.
This is not just aimed at the Dubia Cardinals. By this act the Pope has brought every Catholic into the ring.
I pray for the continued strength and courage to make it through the muddy swamp that the barque has entered, it is truly sad that the fence is now splintered. Most humble and patient mother of our Lord and mother of all of us, please pray for us your troops that we may remain steadfast to the truth, pray that we do not lose hope, that we may always know that your son our Lord Jesus is always with us during these darkest of days.
Don't lose hope is easier said than done these days. Either all the Church's teaching has been handed down faithfully or none of it has. If the pre-Francis Church got it wrong about marriage and sexual morality, what other teaching are about to topple? Homosexual unions are already covered by the Amoris Laetitia wink and nod, and he has a committee making up reasons for ordaining women. I suppose abortion will be next because he's uncomfortable with Catholics "talking about it all the time".
Yes, this is the turning point moment, no doubt about it. As with St Peter: Peter Declares That Jesus Is the Messiah 27 Jesus and his disciples went on to the villages around Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked them, “Who do people say I am?” 28 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, one of the prophets.” 29 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Peter answered, “You are the Messiah.” 30 Jesus warned them not to tell anyone about him.
I know I will probably get shouted at for this but haven't Francis' critics been demanding clarity on the situation? Surely it should be clear by now what the Pope is teaching and which was clear over a year ago (see my post at http://motheofgod.com/threads/catholics-face-a-choice.9674/page-4#post-146465). Those who think that the teaching conflicts with previous beliefs are mistaken. There are so many comments about 'holding on to the barque of Peter', but this is not possible if Peter is thrown overboard. This latest development should encourage all who think Pope Francis is just giving us his own opinion to put that idea to one side.
How can that be? Are you saying that the Church has always taught that the divorced and remarried may receive Holy Communion even when they continue living as husband and wife, with no firm purpose of amendment?
I wouldn't leap frog the situation of escalate it by talking about, 'dumping' the Holy Father. At this stage I think it places the ball firmly in the courts of the Dubia Cardinals. It is for them (and maybe others) to reply. I would be very interested for instance in how EWTN and Church Militant will respond (among others) . As someone mentioned the time for fence sitting is rapidly drawing to a close.
I read : "Pope Francis has officially approved the interpretation of Amoris Laetitia that opens Holy Communion to the divorced and civilly remarried in some instances". In my humble opinion: I think we should first know, before getting in all sort of allegations, what the Pope means by "in some instances". Perhaps we should fix a private meeting with him to ask.

Elisa, the Cardinals asked for clarification on these matter in April 2016, I think about 20 months ago and the Holy Father has made no reply as yet, nor granted them a meeting to ask. I wonder how much longer they or we should wait in expectation? I think it reasonable to suppose such a long time later that no answer is the answer. I do not even have to wait in my Dentists twenty months. Though it seems like it sometimes. http://www.ncregister.com/daily-news/four-cardinals-formally-ask-pope-for-clarity-on-amoris-laetitia
