Are they closed on Sunday too? I couldn't remember.

I know that they too have been determined to uphold Christian values and have been blessed with success.

My sister sent me the below article that deals with a piece of history we would all like to not know about :(. It was a horror then and Slavery is still a horror that we would like not to think about:

The Irish Slave Trade: The Forgotten WHITE Slaves…

    https://www.americasfreedomfighters.com/2015/06/16/the-irish-slave-trade-the-forgotten-white-slaves

The Slave Trade is still alive & "well" in the traditional sense in Africa, Asia and Islam ... but ... we have our own Slave Trade in the Western World. YES!! ... We Do!! In the West where we turn a near blind eye to the Drug, Sex and "Immigrant" Slave Trades! Oh! ..... we have a round-up or two that makes the news when some low level merchants of evil get caught but the Trade flourishes and makes BIG $$$$ .... lots of which ends up in corrupt politicians off-shore bank accounts! Any wonder why the Political Left is weak on or downright Pro-drugs, perversion, abortion and Open Borders .... Think about it!!
There is also another form of Western Slavery that we turn a blind eye to and that's the once great, productive and prosperous urban areas have been turned into Welfare Plantations where three or four generations of Welfare Slaves exist in ignorant squalor, misery and human degradation. These Slaves are bred by their Safe-Seat Political Masters to vote every two years and Hate those nebulous "oppressors" in the Producer Class and the Western Culture of Faith, Tradition, Moral and Civic Responsibility.
If you express your outrage about ANY of the above you will be labeled a hidebound bigot, misogynist, xenophobic or ......................... It ain't gonna end well! :(
Most of us here are planning and hoping for a pleasant and festive Christmas Season. Let's pray for all the World's Slaves that have no hope for such a Season!!

Very cool! I was sent to a small town in Germany several years back and nothing was open on Sunday. It was a real shock for an American who has not seen this since I was a small child. In fact, I was speaking with someone the other day about how the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays always meant that stores would be closed that day and likely the next as well. Things sure have changed. :(

Does anyone watch the price of Bitcoin? I looked at it today and it was $9700.00 per coin. I remember when it was a few hundred. Digital currency will be the next stop on our way to total surveillance and slavery, count on it. The only way I can see it failing would be for the central banks to ALL fail.

The banks in general are far more in debt in our gigantic global pyramid scheme than they were at the last financial crisis. The policy of central banks, at least in the case of the ECB, is no longer bail-outs, but bail-ins. This is effectively the expropriation of the assets of savers in order to pay off their gambling debts. By outlawing cash, they can get their hands on all our money. One could buy gold and so on, but where do you keep it securely-in a bank deposit-box?! The negligence of the liberal state has ensured that the person who hordes cash is highly vulnerable to violent criminals who are hardly punished. At least in the US, one can keep a gun. Only criminals have guns in Ireland, even most of the police are unarmed.

People looked at me as if I had two heads at the last banking crash, when I (only half-) jested that the head-bankers should have been hanged from lamp-posts. Now we are about to find out the real meaning of 'moral hazard'.

In General closed shops on Sunday and around other holidays are still the case in Germany. There are only very few exceptions.
Unfortunately, this has no religious reasons. It´s simply because society has always been used to it and wouldn´t like to change this because everyone enjoys not to work on Sunday. That´s all the reason :)

In the wake of the movie mogul Harvey Weinstein sex scandal, Hollywood's dark and nasty underbelly is finally beginning to show. From down in the catacombs Michael Matt talks pop culture, pointing out how early Traditional Catholics were just as concerned about the rock 'n' roll and Hollywood-driven Sexual Revolution as they were the liturgical revolution of Vatican II. Pope Pius XI issued an encyclical warning against the motion picture industry way back in 1939. Were Catholics of the past just paranoid, or have post-Vatican II Catholics of today simply lost the ability to recognize evil when we see it? Now we have prominent cardinals in Rome eulogizing gender-benders such as David Bowie, while Neo-Catholics hope and pray that AC/DC drummer Malcolm Young is now "playing before the throne of God." When, exactly, did the Catholic Church agree to an unconditional surrender to the cultural gods of the wasteland?

Some commenters have said that YouTube labeled this episode as "restricted content", i. e. in the same category as violent or explicit videos. If you have that filter on (to avoid real immoral content), you'll have to turn it off in order to view this Remnant episode.

Yep!!! ... another SIGN and another genuflection to LeftLiberal Global PC!
Christian Warriors who protected Pilgrims and saved Europe/Christendom from Islamic Terrorists and Invaders, for 800 years, are now labeled as nasty cutthroats and Islam is labeled as The Religion of Peace .... that can't handle criticism .. Ah ... Well!! ... 'cause they get VIOLENT when criticized. Sounds like another take on Isaiah to me. Evil=Good, Good=Evil, Bitter=Sweet and .................... :( The Cutthroats have been welcomed into Europe/USA and it won't end well!!

I just saw today that "Girlguiding UK", which I guess is the equivalent of the Girlscouts here in the USA, has endorsed allowing "transgender" guides to share showers and tents with girls.

I can't link the article I saw because unfortunately the ad links on the side had some immodest pictures on them.

What else would you expect from students in a Jesuit college? They are products of the new, improved Ignatian spirituality - rotten fruit.

When I was in the Monastery there was a very saintly young hermit monk called brother Vader. he used to ask me a question,

'Do you have a word for me brother?'

The desert Fathers used to do this. It is more nor less asking do you have a Word for me from God? Something to eat over in prayer and meditation.

I think i have a message to myself from God this week. One that threw me a little.

What if you lost everything , Padraig, everything you owned. What if you had nothing? What if I told you were going to die tomorrow?

You know I looked at the sky in the early morning looking for answers. This video reminds me of this Word.

My answer? I live a very, very ,very simple life. Thank God for it when He asks me questions like this.

My bags are packed and I am ready to go..where ever. But the question caused me to search my heart. I think it is a good question for these times.

    A good word

You can't have a place like this where the Truth is told without paying the price. Whatever the price is I will continue to tell the Truth whatever the price may be' imprisonment, disgrace or death. I have little enough to loose but what ever it may be I am very prepared to make it.

Blizzard, Thank you for posting this video, it is very good in my opinion. I think that as a society we kept lowering the bar until we completely threw the bar out. Not that "everyone" is doing "everything" but it appears that almost "everything" is available. It's creepy. I think Conchita of Garabandal said, "We lost the sense of sin.".

I read in the comments that there was a problem at some point with youtube labeling the video incorrectly, I wonder.

We live in Orwellian, apocalyptic times with indoctrination and propaganda the means of control.

I believe people are like sheep and follow the crowd.

He who is incapable of an independent thought will always be a sucker for totalitarianism.

The Sun is the most popular paper in the UK. It has a reading age of ten. Says it all really!
