MARY & THE ROSARY In the apparitions of Garabandal, the Virgin would spend so much time instructing the children on how to pray it well. Most notably, She taught the girls how to say that rosary "properly, and slowly", and recited the rosary together during each apparition. Joseph Pelletier writes; "From a series of questions sent to Conchita in April, 1969, it was learned that Our Lady 'ordered - mando' the children to recite the rosary each time they saw her and that they actually did recite it during every apparition.". He later added; "The girls said the rosary in ecstasy as they walked the village streets, entered the homes of the sick, visited the cemetery, and walked around the church....She taught the girls to say all their prayers (and not only the rosary) slowly and thoughtfully. Tape recordings of the girls praying in ecstasy show us exactly what Our Lady wanted from the children and from us. These tapes show the girls praying very, very slowly, articulating each word carefully..." (jp210)Conchita, diary, jp89: "The rosary is a very important part of the Blessed Virgin's message"..."She recited the prayer very slowly--muy lento"Conchita, diary,jp65: "When we arrived at the altar...she started to say the Creed very slowly with the Blessed Virgin. Mari Cruz said that the Blessed Virgin took the lead and recited the prayer first, in order to teach her how to pray slowly. After the Creed, she said the Hail Holy Queen and then she made the sign of the cross very slowly and very properly--muy despcio, muy bien" (The Virgin first taught the girls how to say each prayer individually, before teaching the complete Rosary). The Blessed Virgin taught them how to pray the Rosary. You hear the girls praying the first glorious mystery. Two chants of the girls in ecstasy are included.

Joey made a very big impact on my spirituality also and I loved his joy and sense of humor. I've observed so much joy from other religions role models in the faith over the years as well. In fact I would go so far to say that a sense of humor walks hand in hand with true sincerity of heart.
Me too Mario. It is a favorite for Holy Communion or when I can't get to Mass. I also pray it on behalf of loved ones who have fallen away too. Not sure that is kosher but I have been doing it. A very powerful prayer.

In the book, Suddenly & Unexpectedly pg 93 "We know that the Warning must precede the Miracle. I happen to know, as per Maria, that Mari Loli had at one point been questioned by a priest who was trying to extract the year of the Warning from her. She would not tell him. Finally, he asked if she could at least tell him if it was an even or odd year. She relented and told him that it would be an even year. " When I researched this many years ago, I found out that the priest in question was Fr. Gustavo Morales that she said this to.

Ok but that means also that we should not take Mari Lola's remark serious regarding the even and odd year.
I think you did not understand well what exactly I assumed: it was about this year, not about the coming years. What is happening to us Christians ? There is so much misunderstanding in this world, even among us. Peace.

I don't think it would be too much to think that miracles, separately, (as they are promised, separately, in various places of apparitions) could occur in the future at all of the places where Mary has appeared.....to show that all she has said or warned about for the whole world and the Church in these places were true...and also in order for the whole world, not just regionally, to recognize our Mother as the Father wishes her to be recognized for these end times, her times! I didn't state any other particular places since Glenn has this thread specifically for Garabandal.
TODAY IN GARABANDAL HISTORY: OCTOBER 11, 1961: FIRST CLARIFICATION OF THE VERY IMPORTANT REVELATION OF OCTOBER 1, 1961: THE FUTURE AND DEFINITIVE "PERFECT UNITY OF ALL CHRISTIANS". The conversations between Father Luis and the visionaries have, it appears to us, always held a very positive ecumenical trait. On the Feast, then, of the Divine Motherhood of Mary, Fr. Luis and Conchita spoke about this extraordinary prophecy already partly revealed by Our Lady on the previous October 1: "Ah, the Churches will be reunited? . . . Yes, they will be reunited! . . ." Conchita rejoiced over this formidable prophetic news. In November 1965, the visionary, as she had already done many times since October 11, 1961, confirmed the accuracy of that great revelation to the German editor, Albrecht Weber. She also clarified somewhat, what the Blessed Virgin had told her concerning the great Church event to come. "She (Our Lady) again told us that the divided (Churches) will reunite. There will be only one 'religion.' A better translation: "The Christian Churches will then be One in the Catholic Church." In the light of such a prophetic revelation, the meaning and scope of the "one, Catholic, apostolic and Roman Church" that the visionaries, in ecstasy, had professed for the first time on August 1, 1961, at the time of the recitation of the Creed, acquired their full significance. I was asked privately to pray for a physical healing for a member,and I thought my own story might inspire those of you who seek a healing.Our Blessed Mother & St. Pio do listen ! I have received several "physical miracles" that "cemented" my faith as a boy. Each temporary suffering, eventually God turned into a positive, and faith building experience. Each was a blessing ! Many people fail to give God the time to turn a tragedy into a Miracle for them. Here are just two stories. I was "rough-housing " around with friends in a pool, and someone punched me in the head and broke my ear drum. I went deaf on that side of my head, and the pain was horrible. I went to the hospital, and they surgeon scheduled me for surgery the next day, to place a mesh screen in my ear, in hopes that a new ear drum would grow over it in about 6 months, then go back and surgically remove it , again in the hope of regaining partial hearing. I was in several high school bands ,so this was devastating. Again , I called my Grandmother who prayed to Padre Pio, and shockingly I awoke the next morning with a new ear drum ! No pain, perfect hearing ! ( Boy do I miss having her around, a true miracle interceder . ) Thank you Padre Pio ! I was about a 13 year old and I had a bone marrow disease in my legs. My Italian Grandmother (who was truly a living saint ) was praying for my miraculous healing, was a huge believer in Padre Pio, and I heard he was connected to and approved this apparition apostolate. I met Joey at an Aunt’s house in 1973, doing a talk and I kissed the medal (which the Blessed Mother kissed at Garabandal ). Two weeks later, after another x-ray, astonished doctors, said the disease was completely gone ! So I was certainly surprised and grateful to my Grandmother for her prayers to Padre Pio ( never really understand the meaning of kissing the medal at that time as a boy.) I believe I was predestined to work with this apostolate, having been healed by Padre Pio & our Blessed Mother so many times. Remember the last words of our Blessed Mother at Garabandal: “Pray to us with sincerity and we will grant your requests. You should make more sacrifices. Think about the passion of Jesus.”
