Do you ever see halo's and more whimsical fancies.

I have been seeing them along with having dreams and seeing things while I pray the rosary since I began attending the Fatima prayers at our Parish on the 13th of each month and praying the rosary. Some of these things are personal in nature (like the dream I posted about) and some are not. The Blessed Holy Mother is always a part of them in some way.

It is hard to explain the things that I see when I pray. Often they are like pictures in light. Not like that of a light as we know it but a light like that of an ark welder for anyone who has experience with one. Very brilliant, then gone and often I can not determine what they are but there are times when I can see the image clear as day.

This morning I saw the Virgin clothed with the sun on her shoulder. With the moon at her feet and a crown of stars on her head. Under her were explosions, exactly like that of a thermonuclear explosion in space. There were many of them.

Then I saw as I was there the Virgin, as a young maiden, clothed with a blue sash and carrying a brown scapular which she handed to my wife. She turned, smiled and left the way she had came. This was in color, as if I was standing there. In it I was actually standing there.

I attended a wedding yesterday and saw the Halo around the bride as she tried to keep from crying during her ceremony and recited her vows to her husband. It was not large like the ones I see at Mass but it was there.

The ones I see at Mass and especially during the sacrifice and communion are huge in comparison. They can sometimes make the entire alter and everything in it glow, and I do mean everything. The figures of both Mary and Joseph to the right and left of the Alter glow brightly with it as well.

I must look like an absolute loon while this is going on but I can't help when this happens being in complete awe of God and his love for us. I must remain silent or it brings me to tears afterward and I feel completely overwhelmed with it. Like, I can't take it all in. In fact, I can't even talk of it for a time afterward almost like I have to have time to absorb it or else I am overcome and can not speak.

I don't like talking about this and that is why I am. I have the distinct impression that I am not to hold these things back.

Amazing Don_D! I sometimes wish I had 'experiences'. But I have told heaven that I do not require them as I already believe.. but I still often feel like I am missing out sometimes as many seem to have them. I still receive 'consolations' as I call them as well as many coincidences (no such thing as coincidence ;)) maybe just to keep me on my toes! :barefoot:

Don hold on to these beautiful things the Lord is allowing you to experience at the moment.

I say that because I have found that He gives these kind of consolations for a reason, and one reason is that in the future you may not experience anything and it will be like a void, or 'when the well runs dry', or the dark night of the soul and you may even question your faith!

At these times we can always draw on the memories of these experiences to help our soul battle the dryness, the dark night, the sufferings and even to fight off the devil's temptations to believe his lies.

I have had different experiences to you, but in times of doubt and suffering, the mystical experiences the Lord has allowed in the past help me to remain steadfast in my pilgrimage here on this earth.

I most certainly will HH. I started a journal because of it, I have had some periods in the past like you describe so this way I can go back and see these things so to speak again.

Also, I want more insight into my sins as well so that when I can finally start going to confession regularly I will be able to confess and speak about them more deeply.

I have had some experiences in the past but they were nothing of the sort like these have been. More along the lines of saving my butt when things were about to go horribly wrong. Guardian Angel kind of stuff from my youth. The years I spent worshiping in the evangelical churches I never had this kind of prayer life either. I did have an interesting prayer answered once as well though now that I think about it.

Some of these things I really don't understand at all. I like to pray the rosary late at night under the stars and one night I felt something come upon me I guess is the best way to describe it. It was like when you feel the presence of someone looking at you. Except in this case there was nothing to see because I opened my eyes to look. As I did this I felt a frigid air come over my hands from in front of me. I was sitting cross legged, a blanket under me and wrapped around my lap. This frigid air settled on my hands and wrists. I felt it nowhere else on my body. It was sudden as well so after I got over the initial surprise of this (I never stopped praying) it eventually dissipated after a few minutes and was gone.

I have severe rheumatism in my hands and they are a bit crooked as well as my feet.

Anyway, I am hoping that someone offers my wife the scapular. We go to the Fatima and also rosary prayer times at our Parish so who knows! We have the travelling Fatima Pilgrim Virgin statue coming to our Parish on the 21st and are very excited for that. :)

Sparrow, you may be surprised at some point. That is why I am writing about it. I have never wanted anything like this because I feel that am horrible at discerning these things and so I have always been afraid of the implication of dreams and things of this nature. Also, my family has always been very heavily into mysticism and other occult things so growing up I was around it and have avoided anything of the sort all my life.

I whole heartedly agree with you; there is no such thing as coincidence!

I have just begun reading the life story of St Jose Maria Escriva, the founder of Opus Die What strikes me very much was the profound sanctity of both the saints parents. For instance three of the saints sisters died in early Childhood buy his mother accepted it with jaw dropping Christian. resignation. She also seemed to everything with great perfection at St Therese of the Child Jesus taught.

The father a prosperous buisnessman seems to have lost everything through fraud but accepted it totally without complaint and worked humbly and uncomplainingly as a store clerk from then on in.

I would say both parents could be canonised. But I find it so moving the incredible holiness and saintliness of very ordinary people all around us. So touching.

Don, You can go online and buy brown scapulars, either singly or in bulk, and ask the priest to enroll you and your wife. There are different places online that offer them. That is what I do, because the nearest religious goods store near here is in DC and I have not been near there in a long time. And then, you can turn around and pass the favor on to someone else;)
Just be sure that the priest knows how to enroll someone, because it is like a Confraternity which has some rules. That also can be found online by looking up Brown Scapular.
    Keep on!

Sparrow, I also sometimes wish I could have 'experiences' like this. Well, I am so excited because I just had a little one happen to me and I wanted to share it! I went for my evening walk after dinner tonight, and I always take my Rosary to pray as I'm walking. Tonight, I unknowingly took a Rosary that was tangled up. I didn't notice until I started walking that the chain was tangled, and I didn't bring my glasses with me, so I couldn't see well enough to untangle it, lol. Well, I spent the first 5 or 10 minutes of my walk trying to untangle the chain anyway, but to no avail. I finally gave up and asked my Guardian Angel to help me untangle it. I also asked Our Lady if she would untangle it for me, to let me know she was with me. Again, no go. So I decided I would just have to pray with it as it was. So I put my Rosary in my pocket and began praying with it balled up in my hand. I was feeling really bad that I had asked Our Lady for such an extraordinary favour and was apologizing to her for doubting that she was with me. I took my Rosary out of my pocket and it was still tangled up, but I kept praying it. Suddenly as I was praying, I let my Rosary dangle from my hand, and it was completely untangled! I couldn't believe it, I was so happy!!! I was smiling so much walking up the street, anyone would have really wondered about me, lol. So that's my little story. I don't bother telling my husband or kids, they would just scoff at me. But I couldn't wait to share it with our MOG group, everyone is so supportive here:)

    Hi Don_D,

Something that came to me in reading your post, is that the experiences you are having are for a reason and that you should pray into them. I know you feel compelled to share them but if you could hold off on the sharing for a while until you feel the blessing wearing off, and it will. It then becomes an experience you can share and others will be blessed by the hearing of it. As you pray into the experiences, the Lord will give you other insights and you will understand more fully what they are about. One can run the risk of losing a blessing by sharing it too soon, or by sharing it at all, or by sharing it with another who doesn't have proper discernment and may give their slant on it which may be totally wrong and so the blessing is lost.
You have nothing to lose by keeping them to yourself for a while and praying into them, at least until as I said, the blessing begins to wear off. You will know when it is wearing off.
Stan loves to rob our blessings!
    Just my tuppence!

Not halos, but flashes of neon blue light. Usually when I am least expecting it. Sometimes it happens when I am in prayer, and I take this to understand that Our Lady is helping me to pray. But most often, in times of distress or confusion, particularly when dealing with someone who I am finding difficult. Then it flashes, sometimes as a streak across my line of vision, sometimes as a single, two dimensional point. It always brings consolation and reminds me that I am a child of Mary, as well as a child of God. It sometimes happens before I have to do something challenging or something I don't want to do. It's as if Mary is telling me not to be afraid and that she is with me.
