If you are interested, I am writing a book on three divine images given to mankind, one is the Shroud. I have recently finished a 35 year project on restoring the image of the shroud to find the true face of Jesus. I entered a before and after of my efforts in print competition to have my work juried by my peers and it received a blue ribbon, with a seal of approval and will be displayed next Jan. At The Professional Photographers of America International photo exhibition/convention held in Nashville. So thousands of people attending will see the Face Of Jesus. What really bothers me is when people see an image of the shroud they are looking at a photographic negative. I used the negative for reference but actually worked on a copy of the original photographed by Barrie Schwartz of the shroud team of the 1970's. (Yes he did give me permission to use his image). I also did much research to arrive at coloring etc. one person from this group was kind enough to assist me. I do hope to have the book ready for publication in a few months. Jesus wants to be seen! I saw this thread and just had to share. I am hoping to get my project blessed by my parish priest, have been trying to get him at my studio for a year, I am thinking he might not be interested. So I might approach our Bishop, but am being patient.

That's very interesting. Have you been in touch with Dr. Jackson and his wife?

I went to Turin to see the Shroud when it was on display to the public. Among the exhibits there they had a full body plaster reconstruction of what Jesus would have been like based on the image on the Shroud.

No I have not but am planning on it. I am waiting until after the first week in August when all of PPA jurying is completed.

When my book is ready I will let everyone know. It will include the Veil of Veronica and Our Lady of Tepeyac (Guadalupe).

Hello Katfalls,. Have you talked to Father Mike in Marquette. I'm sure he would be very interested. I will certainly buy a copy of your book when complete. God bless and God speed in your endeavor.
