Just informed that my mother is going home from hospital with hospice. She is too old to get through a bypass operation in legs. Blood is going ceptic. Conference call tomorrow morning. At this time doctors figure three weeks.
Oh shepherd I know this must be so hard on you and your mother and your whole family. God bless you. I will pray for her at my Holy Hour tomorrow and say a prayer tonight as well.
Thank you all, I'm waiting on the phone call shortly from the Doctor at the hospital. Our family resides in different states. Mom and dad in NY, a brother in Florida, another at bottom of NY,state, sister in Connecticut an me in Michigan. I will be making a trip next week.
Yes there's diabetes in the family. She has PAD. In short, there is a lack of blood circulation to her legs. It was determined that she is too fragile to go through an operation or amputation. Heart is weak. Breathing is bad, and she has internal bleeding. They are stopping Coumadin meds and antibiotics.
I gather there is a severe infection (septicaemia)going on. Thus the internal bleeding. I am so sorry to hear this. I will pray for her.
Yes, you are correct. Earlier in the week it was all hopeful. Yesterday was when it all changed. My father was devastated and heart broken. I will go to NY next and stay for the rest of the month. If permitted by circumstances to be with both mom and Dad.
Hello heyshepard, Please, could you give us your mom and dad's first names? I would like to put them on the Green Scapular...Yours also, if you would like... Thank you. Magdalena
Thank you Magdalena. My mothers name is Nancy. My father's name is Bill and my name is Matt. This is very kind of you!
Already all on the Green Scapular. May you all be blessed by Our Lord and Blessed Mother. Prayers for all.
Our prayers are with you Matt. Your poor father and mother. I will put them in my night prayers and tomorrow at Corpus Christie. And you too of course.
Thank you to all those who held my my mother in your prayers. She ran the race and has finished. She is now with God and at peace. The homily given was about the gravestone that has your name and three other things... The date she was born, the date she died, and what looks to be the insignificant "dash" in between. That dash though is very important as that encapsulates the life she lead. Now I ask myself... How will my dash be viewed by God. God bless you all!
