This is how I feel to a large degree. It seems to me the diabolical disorientation is spreading rapidly. I do not trust my own judgement on these issues anymore. We know enough from the prophecy that is already approved to get us through. We only risk getting led off the right track by listening to seers of today. The devil is much smarter than us. He probably has a slew of seers now who are giving very orthodox messages and describing events very accurately. He may be just waiting for the perfect moment to throw error into the mix and lead souls astray. Just because a seer has been orthodox and right so far does not mean they will be orthodox and right in the future. Remember when God sends his messengers in the past he very often gave validation of their messages through miracles. How many miracles accompany today's "seers"? We are told by both the bible and approved visionaries of the past that the devil will "flood the market" during these times to block out the true message (Fatima, Quito, etc.) "During the time of the approach of the punishments announced at La Salette, an unlimited amount of false revelations will arise from Hell like a swarm of flies; a last attempt of Satan to choke and destroy the belief in the true revelations by false ones." -Prophecy of Marie Julie Jahenny, Briton Stigmatist (1891) For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders, insomuch as to deceive (if possible) even the elect. -Matthew 24:24
Hi Mac, BrianK and Praetorian and all who may be able to answer me, I have been trying to find the post I think by BrianK regarding a blog of a contributor to OnePeter5 where the contributor states that the alledged quote of Blessed Ann Catherine Emmerich, regarding the 2 popes and how baleful is the church........... is in fact erroronus. I have downloaded the Life of Jesus Christ by Anne Catherine Emmerich 1774-1824 and read through volume 2 where this quote is supposed to have come from and like the contributor to 1Peter5, I can not find this quote. Instead where Blessed Ann Catherine Emmerich mentions the 2 popes, she says....... one Pope, [Pope Bonaface I think] faithfully upholds the Church's teaching and she compares this with another future Pope who will not uphold the church's teaching and the new church will be left confused. Maybe Volume 2 is not where the quote has come from, any help would be appreciated. Thank you all.
I would agree with you to some degree. If a person is not grounded in the faith and scripture and is not studied in the consensus of Catholic prophecy, I would agree that one would be wise to abstain from reading unapproved prophecy. Discernment in this area is risky, as Charlie Johnson clearly showed anyone who followed him on specific details of his alleged prophecy. I still believe Charlie had been given some prophecy, but he traveled outside the prophetic consensus and was taken down by it. He did not have the discernment necessary on what he was allegedly given. Anyone who followed MDM or LTTW to the end also traveled outside of the prophetic consensus and paid the price for it in shame. If prophecy had no value then God would not have said it had value in scripture. If current prophecy no longer has any value, even when a million people in the 1990's lost their lives in Rwanda in 90 day's by ignoring our Blessed Mother's warnings, then one has to ask, when did it stop? I contend it has great value for those who have ears to hear. It is all about keeping one ready and alert. It is all about keeping ones oil in your lamps ready to light. It is all about knowing that God has refuges in place and will feed those who remain in his grace, (as he did for the Israelite's in the desert for 40 years) when the world collapses all around us and they are killing for living conditions and food for nourishment. It is God's way to give hope when it all unravels in our midst. I am very grateful for Amos 3:7 "for surely the Lord goes does nothing without revealing his plans to his messengers, his prophets". Yes, it is the same God yesterday, today, and forever.
Fatima, I think what you said about having a strong grounding in faith and scripture before anyone should even attempt to look into private revelation is of paramount importance. We are in such unusual times that to me it is just safer to ignore the vast swamp of messages we are being inundated with. I do not condemn you from keeping an eye out. You have a good head on your shoulders. I am more concerned about those who latch onto their favorite seer and know very little about discernment and the faith. Many have been taken for a ride and come out the other side with a loss of faith and sometimes financial problems as well. I do not know if authentic prophecy has stopped now or if it is just so swamped by the false visionaries that we cannot see it. I do agree with a lot of what Mac said though. We are in a spiritual Chastisement now and have been for decades. Where are the great saints? Where are our Padre Pio's and St. John Vianney's? Where are our prophets whose messages are supported by Miracles? I am not saying that God has abandoned us, but the Church as a whole sure is abandoning Him quickly and we are reaping what we have collectively sown. God deals with individuals very differently than he deals with groups. He treats individuals with the utmost love and tender care, but he treats nations, Churches, and other groups with the justice they deserve. God is merciful though. Even if we had no real prophecies after Akita we still know all that we need to in order to do what we must in the years ahead.
Thank you Praetorian, The link, with the article you gave ........."Anne Catherine Emmerich and the Two Popes" by steve Skojec is indeed the article! It really goes to prove that..... It is, unfortunately, too easy to trust a misrepresented text that is stated as a fact [and probably by well meaning persons], but without doing the extra work of checking sources, it is a dangerous habit, because it has the potential to alter our perceptions of the Faith.
To be honest, I would take with a grain of salt some of what's attributed to Anne Catherine Emmerich. I read her description of Our Lady's last days on earth and assumption into Heaven. According to that account, Our Lady was still living in the house that St. John provided for her near Ephesus. If I remember correctly, she said that all the Apostles arrived at the house, some by miraculous means, when Our Lady was dying. One of the apostles could have arrived late. She described the apostles taking Our Lady's body to a tomb or cave at the back of the house, laying her there and closing the entrance. After that their was some kind of miraculous light on the roof of the cave and Our Lady was assumed into heaven. That account doesn't match up with the claims of the early Christians that Our Lady's dormition happened in Jerusalem. I have been to the house near Ephesus and there was never any mention of a cave or tomb behind the house. Surely if there were such a place, it would have been discovered by the Germans who found the house per Anne Catherine's directions? Hasn't it been claimed that the person who recorded Anne Catherine's visions did some creative writing of his own?
Yes, sometimes we rely too heavily on specifics. Studying prophecy is very difficult. It is more art than science I think.
I have noticed that sometimes I will receive an insight from God as I go about my daily duties. Just a thought can come through from the Holy Spirit. An enlightenment, an insight, if you will, and then I might see it pop up in a recent prophecy that I have read, and that is the Holy Spirit confirming it for me.

More intrigue: Italian Archbishop Suggests Pope Benedict XVI Resigned Under Obama ‘Pressure’ http://www.breitbart.com/national-s...s-pope-benedict-xvi-resigned-obama-pressures/
Fair and balanced!! ha! Former Vatican Spox Denies Rumors That Pope Benedict XVI Resigned Under Duress http://www.breitbart.com/national-s...sman-says-benedict-xvi-resigned-full-freedom/ But, really, hey.....personal papers from the household were out of his control and passed to media; more scandals being revealed, etc.; noting own health weakness. Humble thing to do.
Here's the latest of the Sensus Fidelium sermons titled "The Road to the Dubia". This one is on the dubia themselves and how the Church deals with a Pope who may be falling into heresy or be an actual heretic. It is very important for all of us to pay attention to the priest's admonishment that nobody but God can judge the Vicar of Christ and that any of us separating ourselves from the Pope is in danger of being in mortal sin. Very serious matters addressed in this sermon. I'm grateful to Sensus Fidelium for making the sermons available to those of us who don't have the benefit of this kind of shepherding in our local parishes.
Here is some Trad news...https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/vatican-cardinal-enlists-the-help-of-sspx-to-fight-the-modernists
I don't find that encouraging. In fact, it suggests to me that bringing the SSPX back into the fold will be used to soften the blow of inter-communion with the Lutherans, leading us further down the road towards a loose connection of Churches whose only claim to unity will be a shared belief in the triune God with everything else dependent on the whim of the local Bishop. Neither does this statement fill me with confidence that the good of the Church is being served: This is because, Fellay said, Pope Francis is "a pope who does not care for doctrine, who looks at the people, and who has known us in Argentina." Then-Cardinal Begoglio gave the SSPX a dig out in Argentina, helping them get recognition from the Government. From what we know of Pope Francis and his views on traditionalists, the only appeal the SSPX would have for him would be their dispute with previous Popes. It seems very unlikely that they would support the four Cardinals who submitted the dubia if they are beholden to Pope Francis for reconciling them with the Church. If anything, Bishop Fellay's statement about Cardinal Muller wanting them in to fight the modernists is less than helpful to Cardinal Muller. Also, their most senior ranking prelate will be an Archbishop or Bishop which means they will have no say in the choice of successor to Pope Francis. Sorry, Mac, for any offence caused by my cynicism.
No offence at all Dolours. Your concerns are shared by many in the SSPX,including myself. Any deal will not be welcomed by all. I am pretty confident the four Cardinals will have continued support for the dubia. This is the main point to any agreement, that the sspx can continue 'as we are'
Well, I don't see how that helps maintain or restore orthodoxy in the Church. The SSPX will be reunited with Rome while rejecting parts of Vatican 11 (I don't know enough about it to know which parts they reject). The Lutherans will be reunited while rejecting allsorts, including Church teaching on marriage, homosexuality, contraception and probably abortion and euthanasia. Parts of Europe, the Americas, Australia and New Zealand will remain united while rejecting most of what the Lutherans reject. We will have moved way beyond a point where responding to the dubia would make a whit of difference, which is probably one of the reasons they will never be answered. Where will we go to find all four marks of the true Church founded by Christ?
