I think you mean it would be sinful to be reading other people's messages for self gratification, As a web admin it is sometimes a requirement,a few examples below Pedophiles use the internet to groom victims if you have young people on a forum (I did on my last forum) it is proactive to keep an eye on conversations between adults and children. Sometimes members of a forum make wild accusations reguarding another member and claim that they have received hate mail via the pm system, they would even provide evidence and send admin screenshots,when admin has to inspect the pm system to confirm the original message they sometimes find that the original pm and screen shot has been modified. In my own experience of a member sending messages to himself by reading his pm's it allowed me to get the person the professional help that they needed. taking all the above into consideration I would not believe that my action in reading pm's was sinful. As for all electronic mail always remember someone somewhere has the ability to read what you type !!! FACT !!!
No I have not read anyone's PM's on this forum, I have had no reason to nor have I been asked to do so, I no longer have access to the forums background software, I did have access to all areas of the forum when I did the upgrade but when I was finished I immediately asked padraig to change my permission (access) by changing the password of super admin.. I am sure Padraig can confirm my honesty in all areas of working on this forum, if however any member is not happy with how I admin this site I will gladly ask Padraig to remove me as admin
Your welcome... However I will clarify .. For the protection of this forum and it's members, I will have no hesitation in accessing/gaining permission to any area of the forum software. The pm system as with any software that runs this forum is vulnerable to cyber attack/abuse, as site admin I have the privilege of working away in the background (sometimes into the wee small hours) to ensure members including moderators can sit and enjoy the forum without knowing what it takes. for instance in the last month the forum was spammed by multiple users from a far eastern country Padraig was made aware of my findings and helped to prevent any damage, a few new members got through but were banned before they could spam the site, I don't have the time to tell Padraig every key stroke I preform or how much time I spend working here but I think he is quite happy with what I do. even though I read his emails
