I'm still sitting on the fence, but we don't have long to wait. As Fatima says, there is much confusion among his followers, and the possibility can't be discounted that he could be right about the presidential succession because of his natural political acumen rather than through any supernatural guidance.

Regardless, I think he has displayed himself as a good, orthodox Catholic, has apparently tried to deal with his visions(?) in a prudent way by consulting priests, and I second that he has declared unambiguously he will retire from prophesy if his big prediction proves false. He has lived politics, he says, most of his life so it is not unusual for him to interpret events in a political way. It must also be remembered that the current battle between good and evil is very much being fought out in the political field.

What's strange about Padraig's reaction today though is that he's appalled that Charlie "stepped into the role of politics". Good gravy, that's like being appalled to find out the Pope is Catholic The vast majority of what Charlie has talked about since he came on the scene a couple years ago is politics and that's the meat of his whole prophecy (the beginning of it anyway), that Obama doesn't finish his term, that our whole government falls, and that our next national leader does not come from the political process (Trump won't be President). He says that point of that prophecy is that when we see it come true (Trump not becoming President) that we then believe what his true mission is and that is that we look forward to the Rescue in last 2017.

 

I have said it before, I'm all in for CJ. I believe he is right on about "heaven"s language", the difficulty in interpreting it. "Who is like God?" We also know that our constitution, which I believe is inspired by God, was made as President John Adams said, "for a God-fearing populace." Again, right on CJ. The collapse is coming and CJ is right on everything.

No, only 25 days according to Charlie's own words, as quoted by Harper. He's hanging on, but I wouldn't bet my house on him. I don't doubt his sincerity and wouldn't rule out his having made a partial misinterpretation, with events being close to what he's prophesied but not exactly so (looking through a glass darkly and all that). We are certainly in the midst of extraordinary events. Trump's election is a Black Swan and there is a way of regarding him as being from outside the political process. Likewise, there is an uncertainty about Trump's inauguration that I don't ever recall with any previous president-elect.

 

No the date is January 20th 2017. If Trump takes office Charlie is false and will remove himself from the scene. That's the date that Obama would finish his term and hand over power to a duly elected successor, who we now know to be Trump, making Charlie false

 

I hesitate to interrupt but there is actual election news. The recount situation just got clarified or messier -- depending:

Michigan appeals court rejects Jill Stein's recount as unlawful

LANSING — The Michigan Court of Appeals ruled Tuesday that the Board of State Canvassers never should have allowed a recount requested by Green Party candidate Jill Stein to proceed, because she has no chance to overturn the result of the presidential election in her favor and is not an aggrieved candidate.

The panel ordered the board to "reject the Nov. 30, 2016 petition of candidate Stein that precipitated the current recount process."

The ruling came out almost simultaneously with a 2-1 order from the U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals which upheld U.S. District Judge Mark Goldsmith's Monday order that the recount must get under way at noon that day, which it did.

The combined effect of the two rulings appears to set up further court proceedings in front of Goldsmith and the Michigan Republican Party has already filed for another federal hearing.

“The Michigan Court of Appeals ruled in our favor, determining that the petition for recount filed by Dr. Jill Stein should have been denied,” said Ronna Romney McDaniel, chairwoman of the Michigan Republican Party. “Dr. Stein is not an aggrieved candidate as she has no chance of winning the election in Michigan.”

Attorney General Bill Schuette said: "I’m grateful, and I know Michigan taxpayers agree, that the Michigan Court of Appeals has adhered to the rule of law," given that estimates of the cost of the recount are as high as $5 million -- more than $4 million more than the fee Stein was required to pay.

Andrea Bitely, a spokeswoman for Schuette, said the Michigan Court of Appeals said that “there is no conflict between” its order and the federal district court’s temporary restraining order, so the recount should end immediately.

"To ensure clarity for Michigan taxpayers, (and as recommended in the Sixth Circuit’s opinion issued this evening), the Attorney General is now filing in the federal district court a motion to dissolve the temporary restraining order," Bitely said.

Mark Brewer, an attorney for Stein, said the U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals refused to stay the Republicans' request to stop the recount, so it will continue until all the parties can get back to federal court to plead their case, again, before Goldsmith.

John Bursch, the attorney for Schuette, and Gary Gordon, attorney for President-elect Donald Trump, urged the state appeals panel to stop the recount, or at least find that the Board of State Canvassers never should have allowed it to proceed.

Brewer, representing Stein, whose campaign requested the recount because of what they called the potential for hacking, error or fraud in Michigan's voting apparatus, had the edge in light of Goldsmith's Monday order that the recount start at noon that day and "continue until further order of this court."

Brewer told the three-judge appeals panel: "This court has no authority ... to interfere in any way with a federal court order."

He got little or no pushback from the judges on that point, who appeared to acknowledge that any order by them to stop the recount would result in further proceedings in federal court in Detroit.

Judge Christopher Murray told Bursch: "We could issue an opinion right now, and the recount wouldn't stop."

"I completely disagree with that," Bursch replied.

He argued there is wording in Goldsmith's order that anticipates the recount being canceled by the state or state courts, but the judges weren't buying it. Bursch also said Elections Director Chris Thomas would have to decide whether to follow a state order to stop the recount, or go back to Goldsmith to find out what to do.

"Would you serve the jail time for us?" Presiding Judge Peter O'Connell asked Bursch, somewhat facetiously, raising the prospect of being found in contempt of a federal court order.

Short of ordering a stop to the recount, Bursch -- a former state solicitor general who is now an attorney in private practice in Caledonia -- urged the court to order the Board of State Canvassers not to certify a second set of electors if the recount is not completed by Dec. 13 -- the federal deadline for guaranteeing that Michigan's electors will be accepted by Congress. Michigan has already certified Trump electors for the state's 16 electoral college votes.

The Michigan Republican Party appealed Goldsmith's Monday ruling to the U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals, where Schuette was also seeking to intervene against the recount. The 6th Circuit upheld Goldsmith's ruling in an order issued late Tuesday.

Trump and Schuette each filed separate lawsuits Friday to block the Michigan presidential recount that began Monday and was requested by Stein, who finished fourth in the Nov. 8 presidential election with just over 1% of the vote. Official results show Trump defeated Democrat Hillary Clinton by 10,704 votes.

Bursch and Gordon argued the Board of State Canvassers never should have allowed the recount to proceed, because Stein is not an "aggrieved" candidate under state law, having no chance of winning the election after a recount.

The state appeals court agreed.

O'Connell compared Stein to a baseball team that lost 99-0 and complained to the umpire that one run should not have counted.

"What my client has done is go to bat for voters," Brewer replied.

Michigan judges run on a nonpartisan ballot, but the panel has Republican leanings. O'Connell, the presiding judge, was elected to the Michigan Court of Appeals in 1994 and has roots in the Republican Party. Judge Jane Markey was also elected in 1994 and has sought the Republican nomination to the Michigan Supreme Court. Murray was appointed to the court in 2002 by former Republican Gov. John Engler and is a former Engler deputy legal counsel.

I just read Charlie's blog. It just seems like a summary of the election results and his opinion on trumps first action steps. I am not a regular reader at all, but it did not seem out of character for any of his other blogs that I have read and certainly did not produce any red flags for me. Still waiting to see how this peaceful transfer of power plays out. I am in the camp that does not think there will be a peaceful transfer of power.

 

What I meant was that Charlie is quoted as agreeing that Obama 'will not finish out his term in 2016'. I translate that as meaning that Obama would not be president at the end of this year.

I've started a new Trump Transition/Post-2016 Election thread. This one seems to be moving to a discussion of Charlie Johnston. I'm posting election recount stories on it this morning, along with Trump creating even more jobs before he's even elected.

And he's been named Time's Man of the Year.

 

That is how we Americans talk about Presidential terms. Obama's 2012 to 2016 term doesn't officially end until January 20th 2017 at approximately noon EST.

I have no idea why we have such a random date as Jan 20 to hand over power but that's the date

 

So Time names Trump Person of the Year but read this write up they made in announcing it. I decided to check out Inauguration Day History as my old mind has forgotten much of my US History. I find when I read Section Three of the 20th Amendment I can easliy see how Charlie's 'vision" could play-out as far as US "leadership" goes if serious unpleasantness occurs from ... What-Ever!!??..... in the next 60 days. I hope that Charlie's and all the other 2017 Gloom-n-Doom scenerios turn out to be BS, we stumble-n-bumble along for another 20 years and I get to die in my bed with all the modern convenience still in good order. Now!! There is a vision almost as good as Christmas Sugar Plum Fairies?

Happily, it is not 60 days but 44 days until the transition. Unless someone moves the goalposts on that prophecy once again.

 

I just pray the Charlie in his heart isn't hoping for chaos and for him to be proven 'right' because then he would be aligned with someone like George Soros.

 

Rest easy, he's said many times he prays he is wrong and has tried to bargain his way out of this, but does not think he is wrong and still expects that Obama will not peacefully turn power over to Trump. And he said again today that if Trump does assume the Presidency on January 20th, then he will declare himself false (along with all of us) and disappear. But why did they make it January 20th and not just December 31st and the new President takes over January 1? Mabye so they could all spend the holiday time with their families and get back to work in mid January?
