About Trump's claim that illegals voted in the Presidential Election: any audit of California's election results is likely to turn up a lot of voter fraud, apparently.

In California illegal aliens are allowed to obtain driver’s licenses. Last year California passed a “motor voter” law. It stipulates that unless the applicant opts out, the applicant will automatically be added to the voter rolls. The potential for fraud
    is yuuge.

Tens of thousands of dead people are on the voting roles, many still “receive” their permanent absentee ballot. Illegal aliens are on the roles—thanks to the Democrats all an illegal alien has to do is get a California drivers license and they can register to vote, almost automatically. Then it is up to the County Registrar of Voters and the Secretary of State to vet them to assure they can legally vote. The Election Integrity Project in Los Angeles gave the LA Registrar 49,000 names of dead people, those that have moved or illegal aliens—and seemingly nothing has been done with that information.

This is an affront to all real citizens and it violates Federal law:

The official number of illegal aliens in the state of California is nearly 3 million. We can estimate the number to be more than double this amount in reality.
Over half of all drivers license issued in California were given to individuals who are here illegally and the state automatically registers those with a driver’s license to vote.
In 2015, California Governor Jerry Brown (D-CA) signed a bill giving full voting rights to illegal aliens. This gives them the right to vote in all elections from a local level to national elections, including that of choosing who will become President.
The biggest problem with this is it is against Federal law for non-citizens to vote in any national election.

At least one study concludes that the 2008 election outcome was altered by illegal aliens voting:

In spite of substantial public controversy, very little reliable data exists concerning the frequency with which non-citizen immigrants participate in United States elections. Although such participation is a violation of election laws in most parts of the United States, enforcement depends principally on disclosure of citizenship status at the time of voter registration. This study examines participation rates by non-citizens using a nationally representative sample that includes non-citizen immigrants. We find that some non-citizens participate in U.S. elections, and that this participation has been large enough to change meaningful election outcomes including Electoral College votes, and Congressional elections. Non-citizen votes likely gave Senate Democrats the pivotal 60th vote needed to overcome filibusters in order to pass health care reform and other Obama administration priorities in the 111th Congress...

Good, this means that even if Pennsylvania and Wisconsin do recounts and Hillary wins them, she still will not have 270 electoral votes, barring an outright revolt of republican electors breaking for her, which won't happen. Even if both are taken from Trump and given to Hillary, he will still be just over 270, but that is only if all republican electors actually do vote for him. It still could happen, though, that the republican electors find Trump unfit and vote for another republican, but they would have to all agree on one candidate, could happen, but unlikely. Most likely: he does not reach 270 after the electoral voting is done. Then it would happen that the House will vote for a president and the new House is majority republican, so they will choose a republican even if it is not Trump. Go Pence!!!

This Stein business is a scam. Even Clinton is standing back and so are her supporters as donations decline to a trickle. Funnily enough, if Stein pulls out now she pockets the money.

The Clintons won't stop Trump. I still don't trust Obama.

Tom Price has been my district's rep in Congress for years now, I've voted for him many times. Now I know everyone loves their Congressman and thinks the rest are jerks, but Tom Price is the real deal. He was a doctor, a surgeon I believe, before he got into politics and he has been sending us messages for years about how bad Obamacare is and he has very good ideas on how to fix healthcare. For those who were worried about Trump doing what he said he'd do, this puts another one of those fears to rest.

A new attack on Trump, this time in 29 states, from Politico. In addition to the recounts, this may tie up Trump's legal team and volunteers:

Anti-Trump forces launch attack on Electoral College
The last-ditch effort to stop Donald Trump is gaining momentum.

Anti-Trump forces are preparing an unprecedented assault on the Electoral College, marked by a wave of lawsuits and an intensive lobbying effort aimed at persuading 37 Republican electors to vote for a candidate other than Donald Trump.

It’s a bracing stress-test for an institution that Alexander Hamilton envisioned as a safeguard against popular whims, and a direct challenge to the role that the Electoral College has evolved to play in picking the president: constitutional rubber stamp.

Behind the overt anti-Trump push is a covert agenda: If the courts establish that individual electors can switch allegiances, supporting candidates other than those who win their states, it would inject so much uncertainty into the process that states may be willing to junk the Electoral College in favor of a popular-vote winner.

“There might well be a clamor to get rid of the Electoral College altogether, a move that would have some disadvantages (like eliminating Hamilton’s safeguard) but many advantages as well,” wrote Laurence Tribe, a constitutional law professor at Harvard University, in an email. “Anyhow, clamor and anger have become par for the course in this loony election year.”

Leaders of the effort, mainly Democrats, have plans to challenge laws in the 29 states that force electors to support their party’s candidate. Those laws have never been tested, leaving some constitutional experts to argue they’re in conflict with the founders’ intention to establish a body that can evaluate the fitness of candidates for office and vote accordingly.

Several sources involved with the legal planning also confirmed that they’re preparing to roll out a coalition of lawyers prepared to defend, pro bono, any electors who vote in opposition to their party’s candidate on Dec. 19, when the Electoral College meets to cast the official vote for president.

Those efforts are parallel to a drive by at least eight Democratic electors in Colorado and Washington state who are lobbying their GOP counterparts to reject their oaths — and in some cases, state law — to oppose Trump when it comes time to cast their votes...

Harper, Are you saying that CJ's prophecy may come true? You know, Charlie Johnston.
I'm sorry, I couldn't resist. I hope that you can appreciate a good laugh once in awhile.

That's fine, Carol. I'm certainly not the only Catholic who has doubts about Charlie, though you might not know that if you hang out here or at his blog.

I don't know what will happen between now and Jan. 20. Both Charlie's spiritual director and Michael Brown have said Charlie has been right with some of his predictions and wrong on others. (From a Spirit Daily story, undated.) I don't say Charlie can't be right. He may have some insight into politics or culture. However, I am certain he is not a messenger of God because he does not meet the criteria the Catholic Church uses to determine if messages and messengers are authentic.

ETA: A more important question on the story above is whether the efforts to influence electors to change their vote ought to come under federal scrutiny by the FEC as undue influence or harassment.

Harper, I know this is a rabbit hole, but this begs the question. What are the criteria you refer to? A quick google search on this brings up a lot of stuff I already know. What am I missing? Failed prophecies perhaps? The guy is plainly not rich nor does he seem to be making money out of his status - which for me is the first big no-no.

(Harper, please correct me if I'm wrong.) Clare, I think she's referring to the Vatican's Norms on apparitions and private revelations:

Yes, a rabbit hole. Fresh Eggs sent the URL. :) You can also find guidelines at: http://www.ewtn.com/library/CURIA/cdfappsrevs.HTM

There are failed prophecies, of course. And it's not always about money, Clare. Some people crave the limelight, they need attention and status as much or more than money. A lot of the issues have been discussed here on MOG before. I can send you specific information if you'd like.

Harper, Why do you go on and on and become less and less charitable all the while? By now, I believe almost every MOG member knows that you don't believe that CJ's messages are from heaven but when is enough enough? Obviously it is not enough until you attack every member of MOG? You currently have about a mile long worth of apologies in my opinion, geez.

If I can recall and I think that I can this began when you accused CJ of not being very charitable to one of the followers of his website. I know that you are not claiming to be a messenger of God but I think you are hardly the one to be throwing stones after the comments that you have been slinging out. Please take a step back and think before you comment.

Oddly enough, Carol, you started on me about CJ, someone else asked a question about my response to you, and CD popped up with his usual rant. So, how is this attacking every member of MOG?

Do you know that quote by the way? Proverbs 26:11. As a dog returns to its vomit, so does a fool return to his folly. Which pretty much describes things.
