I doubt that it's a coincidence that both cities were the centres of Christianity in Japan. We need be in no doubt who is the real Enemy behind these events.

The White House gave its vote of confidence to Comey after inserting the Justice Department into the investigation. Obama has covered his back. The Attorney General has already claimed the 5th Amendment regarding Clinton's emails, so her deputy is standing in. Her deputy has very close ties to Clinton's staff! It simply beggars belief that the Attorney General has held on to her job and that someone so close to people under investigation has any role at all in the investigation. The Clintons have enriched themselves despite never having had a job outside the public service apart from their involvement in their charitable foundation. There are indications of links between the foundation, their public service and their enrichment yet the supposed free press in the US barely glances at those links.

This is the kind of stuff that you would expect to see in a third world dictatorship or banana republic, yet it is happening in the most powerful country in the world that prides itself and sets itself up as a model of fairness and transparency. Watching it is like reading a crime novel except that it's happening in real life, in real time. The only difference is that in fiction the criminals usually get their comeuppance in the final chapter but in real life the criminals are the book's publishers so get to tell the author how the story should end.

Oh the US press are free! They're about the only institution the Clintons didn't have to buy, they got them for nothing.

Word seems to be getting out, however. Trump was already coming back up the hill before the latest revelations, but he now seems to have received a substantial injection of support. Another big shock before election day just might get him over the line, in spite of vote-rigging, the opposition of almost all mainstream media and both party establishments. One knows the elites are panicing when one of their idols David Attenborough suggests Trump be shot. Of course, Attenborough can say these things without consequence because he and his kind simply know better what is good for us.

    Very good speech of Trump:

Especially when he says that we need people with a heart.
Also Bobby Knight, the way he is speaking, you know it is true.
In fact the problems in the USA that Trump mentions, are the same as those in Europe.
Become quickly President, Mr Trump, and come to Europe to clean up here as well !

I like to give Sir Attenborough a good stiff kick in the keyster but I am too far away so if someone nearby could do it I would appreciate it very much. He should be ashamed for saying such a thing! If something happens to Trump, Attenborough should be brought up on charges.

Nothing will happen to Trump. We just have to send every day our Guardian Angel to Trump to protect him against every attack, bullets included...
Can all of you, who are reading this thread, do this right away ? Trust, faith will make Trump President ! Amen ? Amen !

Dwight Eisenhower in a letter to his wife after having turned dwon the big dough (which they both could very much have done with) that , 'It is fun to be poor'. Which I found very , very touching. I think they both may have wrestled with the temptatation.

While I think that there has always been evil and corruption there are levels of courruption and evil in society. The Gernal saw taking money from Hollwood as and evil . But I wonder how many even very good people nowadays (perhaps myself included+-) would ahve seen making money from public service as even something wrong. So perhaps we have come a distance from back then.

In the HBO film of Harry Truman they were shown walking away from the White House with pretty much their suitcases and the clothes they stood up in. We have come so very far from that now.

I think if people do not really have a living relationship with God and do things , 'For the good of society', or, 'For humanity' that is not enough to stop the rot. I think people have to at least believe in the tne commandments and have a certain real revernet Fear of the Lord and of hell as a deterent. I beleive tha tis why corruption set in so heavily in Communist Russia and the Soviet bloc countries.
Behaving morally for society because it seems like a nice thing to do is just not enough. When President Eisenhower for instance wa sin Office he held regular prayer breakfasts. He really believed and I think that kept his moral feet on the ground.

The fear of the Lord, as they say, is the begiining of Wisdom.

Are you sure, Brian, that by failing to grasp this opportunity to see off the Clinton influence and send a clear warning to the Bushes who, despite claiming to have always opposed the likes of the Clintons, have shown themselves to be desperate to see Hillary elected, you are taking the best route? Flawed and all though he is, Trump has turned out to be the best chance you have had in a very long time to rattle and perhaps dislodge the core group of people controlling both parties and the government agencies that answer to them. A Clinton victory guarantees them control probably for generations to come.

A Trump victory could mean nothing, it could be disastrous but it could be the start of something better. A third party needs to start at local level, winning local elections first, followed by State elections and growing across states as it does so, leading eventually to running a candidate for the Presidency who will be supported by like minded people in the other branches of government. Voting third party might make you feel good, but it won't save the Little Sisters from facing a negative judgement in the Supreme Court next year.

Truman was a Freemason, which is probably one of the reasons he did little or nothing to protect the interests of Christians in the Holy Land. This Muslim website has something of a biography of Truman: https://themuslimtimes.info/2012/10/25/quote-of-the-day-by-president-harry-s-truman/

"On February 9, 1909, Harry Truman was initiated into Freemasonry in the Belton Lodge, Missouri. In 1911, he helped establish the Grandview Lodge, and he served as its first Worshipful Master. In September 1940, during his Senate re-election campaign, Truman was elected Grand Master of the Missouri Grand Lodge of Freemasonry. Truman said later that the Masonic election assured his victory in the general election. In 1945, he was made a 33° Sovereign Grand Inspector General and an Honorary Member of the supreme council at the Supreme Council A.A.S.R. Southern Jurisdiction Headquarters in Washington D.C. In 1959, he was awarded the 50-year award. Truman was a member of Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) and a card-carrying member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. Two of his relatives were Confederate soldiers."

Well I am away to bed now.

A sad strange thing happened to me in work this morning. A lady I have always liked full of smiles and fun mentioned she was out last night in the cold and saw some young girls with little clothes on freezing going to a Halloween do. I said I had seen a similiar very scantily clad group wandeirng about and if they had had more clothes on they would have been better off not only physically but spiritually.

She went into a real rage and said that it was terrible was to speak of a group of young people , 'Going out to enjoy themselves'. Not only was she in a rage but never talked to me the rest of today, in fact everytime I enocuntered her I could feel the real anger.

I went over what I said to see if I had said something quite offensive but I think not. THe rage came form her. I ahd pressed some button form her past or present. Perhaps her own conscience was bothering her. Will she ever talk to me again?

But that is her choice not mine,. I regret nothing.

We live in such sad times.

    He thought so.

Much as I hate to burst another of your bubbles, you might want to revise your opinion of Eisenhower after reading this: http://www.nybooks.com/daily/2011/02/05/washingtons-secret-history-muslim-brotherhood/

"How can Americans be unaware of this history? Credit a mixture of wishful thinking and a national obsession with secrecy, which has shrouded the US government’s extensive dealings with the Brotherhood.

Consider President Eisenhower. In 1953, the year before the Brotherhood was outlawed by Nasser, a covert US propaganda program headed by the US Information Agency brought over three dozen Islamic scholars and civic leaders mostly from Muslim countries for what officially was an academic conference at Princeton University. The real reason behind the meeting was an effort to impress the visitors with America’s spiritual and moral strength, since it was thought that they could influence Muslims’ popular opinion better than their ossified rulers. The ultimate goal was to promote an anti-Communist agenda in these newly independent countries, many of which had Muslim majorities.

One of the leaders, according to Eisenhower’s appointment book, was “The Honorable Saeed Ramahdan, Delegate of the Muslim Brothers.”* The person in question (in more standard romanization, Said Ramadan), was the son-in-law of the Brotherhood’s founder and at the time widely described as the group’s “foreign minister.” (He was also the father of the controversial Swiss scholar of Islam, Tariq Ramadan.)

Eisenhower officials knew what they were doing. In the battle against communism, they figured that religion was a force that US could make use of—the Soviet Union was atheist, while the United States supported religious freedom. Central Intelligence Agency analyses of Said Ramadan were quite blunt, calling him a “Phalangist” and a “fascist interested in the grouping of individuals for power.” But the White House went ahead and invited him anyway."

I would not set Eisenhower or Truman up as moral models, but even the Early Christians found some aspects of moral behavious amongst the pagans admirable. For instance the philospher Emperor Marcus Aurelius persecuted the Churcistians but there are aspects of his chareacter which were admirable despite being a mass murderer of Christians. I think it is better to take the good were we cna find it rather than to constntly knock down the evil .

I am reaosnably well informed, I knew for instance that Dwight has an Irish mistress for instance Kate Ssummersby. But I was taking her precisely about his ideals of public service, I was not placing either him of Truman up for canonisation.

For instance Eisenhower was probably the only high ranking American officer who would ahve been caple of forging the Allies into one cohesive force. he just had the necessary qualities.

I daresay if people looked long and hard enough at me it would take them all of about two seconds to come up with dirt. But I hope they might find some good things to say too.

If I had wanted to compse a list of the faults of Eisenhower and Truman it would not have been hard to do so. Rather I was indicating a particular virtue. As Christians in the past found some virtue in Marcus Aurelius.

Yes, public service in those days meant just that. Nowadays it's a precurser to self service which the Clintons have brought to a whole 'nother level.

Sleep well, Padraig, and God Bless.
