Good speech. Really showed up the Cardinal and wealthy Catholics for the hypocrites they are - willing to sacrifice the lives of countless unborn babies in return for "Catholic" schools turning out more Sotomayors, Bidens, Pelosis, Kaines, Kennedys and all the others who spend a fortune protecting their own children while sacrificing millions of babies on their political altar. Can you imagine the Apostles hailing Caesar for throwing money at some children while enabling the slaughter of so many more? Would they have honoured Caesar using the excuse that he was paying them to help the poor? Would they have honoured anyone who enticed people away from the faith? These hypocrites shame us all.

Some prelates need to trade their red hats and robes for sack cloth and ashes.

Wow!! Trump told the truth and most of the people there were squirming in their seats. Good, Trump, make them squirm: many of them have made deals with the devil and have innocent blood on their hands. I felt like I was watching Daniel give a speech in the lion's den.

Fair play to Trump. Has any presidential candidate before him had the guts to be this honest and unequivocal?

Probably not, but he might be one of the apostles of the last times, as we ourselves have to be. We will also have to continue to pray for him if he becomes President because God can change his heart and make a saint of him.
I wonder how Conchita thinks of the two candidates. Glenn, did you receive any glimp of her thinking regarding these elections ? And you Glenn, I suppose you also choose for Trump ? You are not obliged to answer of course.

Just watched the video and wow! Trump said it like it is. Haha...could see the shocked faces of the people behind him when he boldly said Hillary is so corrupt that she got kicked off the Watergate commission.

Omg...did you nail it Dolours! The hyprocracy of this gang! It's just too much . These liberal "catholic" do gooders dressed in all their finery "helping children" whilst loving, hand holding and voting for the very women whose policies will literally murder millions of unborn babies. Just how to these elitist people answer to God at judgement for enabling this evil? Hillary will be the instrument that will destroy human lives and persecute Catholics/Christisns for trying to practice their faith.....and SHE is invited by Cardinal Dolan as an honored guest at a CATHOLIC event? No.....this is more than wrong....it's downright evil. Folks are getting to accept even travesties such as this while staying quite. Compromising on the deliberate killing of the unborn is not acceptable. This issue is just not a DEBATABLE issue between political parities. No catholic, knowing the facts can willingly vote for Clinton...period! Dolan should have made a loud and clear pronouncement that she would not be invite to the al smith dinner because some of the kids the church wants to protect are the unborn. Hillary disqualified herself a long time ago. Cancel the candidates at this event if needed....but do not put them up to the catholic world as equal options. God help us.

I keep thinking about Charlie Johnston's prediction about this election and Obama. There are so many possible scenarios and we have discussed some on other threads but what if Hillary gets elected, is it possible that with in a few weeks Donald Trump could uncover something which indicates Obama and Hillary were both involved in a cover up of Benghazi which in turn results in his impeachment and her loss of the presidency? I am not a lawyer, so I am wondering if this would be possible? I found this old article by accident this morning and started wondering...

And if this was to happen then who becomes president? Hillary's VP? Ugh!

Here is another article about the dinner which attempts to smooth over the reason for them both being there.

Every Thursday in my parish there are 20 decades prayed in repentance for abortion with each decade dedicated to a specific aspect of this holocaust. I make it at least once a month. With Catholics making up a quarter of the US population, why is this carnage allowed to continue? Is satan stronger than God? Absolutely not! But we are His hands, feet, and voice in this world. Where is our outrage and is our willingness to engage the enemy? 40 Days for Life is wonderful, has made an impact, and has saved nany lives. Still, close to a million babies will be butchered in this land in 2016. That averages to two babies every minute. And we have become accustomed to it.

Abortion is the bell weather of our tepidity. It is the bell weather of my tepidity.

Lord have mercy on me a sinner.

Safe in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary!

Amen Mario. I fear the hearts of men have hardened...they have accepted compromise of even killing. Our culture is now so perverted ....I fear only God can right this . He hears our prayers and they are powerful. We may not see the good they render, but through Him, all things are possible.

Amen to that, Beth! As for me, though, it is dangerous to compare myself to others and come out looking pretty good. I am reminded of the words of Jesus and how they will apply at my personal judgment:

Mark 4:21 And he said to them, "Is a lamp brought in to be put under a bushel, or under a bed, and not on a stand? 22 For there is nothing hid, except to be made manifest; nor is anything secret, except to come to light. 23 If any man has ears to hear, let him hear." 24 And he said to them, "Take heed what you hear; the measure you give will be the measure you get, and still more will be given you. 25 For to him who has will more be given; and from him who has not, even what he has will be taken away."

It may seem like I'm hard on myself, but actually I'm pretty cheerful and like to share a good laugh. The forum tends to bring out my more reflective side.:coffee: Still, love should begat love!:)

Safe in the Flames of the Sacred Heart!

Unfortunately, most Catholics have rallied around and accepted the apathy of the majority of our clergy and concern themselves with social justice and watered down theology. There is no outrage, because their world is okay and the church teachings no longer convict them of any culpability for what is happening within the church and society. Prayer life has become almost extinct. Once the 'day of the Lord" comes, some will return to ardent prayer. More will return after the Warning. That moment will be such a great relief for those of us praying for our family, relatives, friends and neighbors who are good people, but not necessarily people of God. There is so much coming that I am looking forward to: Warning, Conversions, Miracle, Second Coming and his temporal Kingdom on earth where his Will shall be done as it is in heaven. I know there will be much suffering and death as well, but our hearts and minds need to keep focused towards the kingdom, lest we loose hope.

    Dear Mario,

You make a great point about comparing our own righteousness to others. I hope that is not how you interrupted my remarks . I did not intend to imply that I was judging anyone's soul. I know I need Gods grace and forgiveness ....everyday.

Thankfully I have had good people in my life that prayed for me and set me straight throughout my life. When I was young I almost left the catholic faith because of church scandals. Thank God for allowing me to grow older and live longer enough to see His will in life.....and not mine. Too often I regret that I was not right thinking.

My comments were meant to condemn the atrocity of abortion. No one can judge another's soul. Only God knows how anyone was formed, or how their thinking was formed....or how our prayers for someone can change their actions or more importantly, their heart. I should have added that regardless of how we might loath someone in power who promotes abortion or those who in power do not condemn it, we are obligated to pray for them.
I know that someone prayed for me and kept me in the church.....thank God. I was ready to leave....only prayer saved me from that horrible decision.

ETA, I only caught the last few minutes with his discussion about veterans healthcare and handling cyber attacks, etc. but he appeared to be very well prepared, calm and peaceful in comparison to the dinner on Thursday night and the debate Wednesday night. I hope that his message reaches a lot people so they can make the best decision possible for our nation. Thank you for posting this.

PS- I'm watching what I missed now.
