Well, I don't think that statement is nearly strong enough. I also don't believe that it will get much coverage outside a couple of Catholic publications. Have they arranged to have the statement printed, read at every Mass between now and the US election, and copies distributed to everyone on the mailing list of every parish? Somehow I doubt it.

This leaves me wondering whether some Bishops or other movers and shakers in the Church are bracing themselves for further leaks. We don't know to what extent these subversive organisations infiltrated the Church. For example, the Alliance group was very active in promoting the Iran deal. I don't know whether that's a good deal or not, but that isn't the point. This is the kind of stuff that bothers me - an advertisement from a supposedly Catholic website that initially re-directed people to the website of an organisation that's anything but Catholic:

"Our advertisement began running on National Catholic Reporter and Commonweal yesterday. Right now, when you click the advertisement, the link takes you to MoveOn's 60 Day to Stop A War Take Action website. From there, you are able to dial into your Member of Congress and request them to support the Iran Deal. > > At some point today, that link will change to our own website, which will list all the groups' names, simple talking points, and give people a chance to dial in three elected officials (their one US Representatives and two Senators). While the MoveOn site is very effective, ours will ensure that people calling into the offices identify as a person of faith, which is important in both our narrative creation (Catholics support the deal) and coalition building (the God Squad takes action)."

Here's what Wikipaedia says about the Move On crowd: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MoveOn.org

His easy access to Archbishop Lori and Cardinal Wuerl is also troubling to me, as is this:

"I'll be taking some time off on both today and Monday to rejuvenate myself as my colleagues and I continue our grueling preparation for Pope Francis's apostolic trip to the US. As you can imagine, Iran is just a portion of the work we're doing in preparation for the Holy Father's trip."

    and this:

"Thank you for being patient with me as I attempt to navigate the unified, but--at times--diverse hopes and expectations of the group. I will continue to try to balance the goals and needs of the group with the pressure to move the ball forward with the clock winding down in the fourth quarter of this important effort. I spoke to the White House yesterday and they assure us the media's moniker calling us "God Squad" isn't just sweet nothings, but actually a fair assessment of the substantial difference we're making in this conversation. Thank you again for all your hard work and continued support."

You can read the full email here: https://wikileaks.org/podesta-emails/emailid/9759

In fairness to the man, at least he actually mentioned praying and going on retreat. Perhaps he was just an unwitting participant in the subversive goals of others.

I still can't get out of my mind the number of Jesuits who signed the petition concerning something to do with a workplace problem (can't remember the precise issue but I do think it was a Catholics United rather than an Alliance effort). They were quoting Church teaching and encyclicals to some Catholic they were pressurising. I didn't see any such petitions or correspondence applying the same moral pressure on the likes of Biden or Kaine who regularly flaunt Church teaching on the right to life as they consistently support the murder of babies whose only crime is having the umbilical cord still attached to their mother.

I strongly suspect that there are similar outfits in most if not all Catholic countries. I fear very much that it won't be long before their brand of mercy will extend to having us all persecuted. It's time for every Bishop (including the Pope), every Catholic educational institution and every Catholic news outlet to come clean on any links they have to these or any other organisation with anti-Catholic goals, especially Soros funded organisations.

You're right, this isn't enough. I love the suggestion to print and read this at every Mass. Unfortunately, I believe that most would not be outraged nor have it impact their choice.

Which presidential candidate they vote for probably doesn't matter at this stage. All the sexual allegations against Trump have probably blown his chances and even if he stood down now there's no changing votes that have already been cast. Maybe it could have some impact on Senate and Congress seats or other State ballots if there are any but I don't really understand how that works. What matters is that Catholics can't plead ignorance when they put their politics before their religion. They might not be outraged but if the message is delivered properly they would at least have to remember that they have a conscience.

I don't understand why the Church isn't viewing this with the same gravity as Marxism and Masonry were regarded in the past, and treating the conspirators accordingly. The very least they should do is warn all Catholics to cut any ties with them under the threat of excommunication. But that won't happen. It will be business as usual as soon as the dust settles.

I wouldn't be surprised if some clergy, even some senior clergy, and some Catholic educators were complicit in this attempted takeover of the Church. God preserve us from the day a Soros type figure gets to choose the Pope.

From Alan Roebuck, a Protestant but unquestionably a Christian, which I thought relevant to the thread:

"C. S. Lewis on the Trump Candidacy
    From God in the Dock:

'Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.'

In other words, better to be ruled by The Donald than by Madam Commissar Hillary.

Trump may be an opportunist, but he’s a sincere opportunist. His support of liberal politicians and policies were probably not motivated by idealism but the desire for practical personal advantage. A man like that can sometimes by swayed by the facts, or by popular uproar.

Even if President Trump were personally to favor the legitimacy of abortion, sodomy, and the like, he wouldn’t necessarily go to war for them. Better a man indifferent to evil than one who loves it.

Not so president Hillary. She’s a dedicated leftist. She would endlessly torment us for our own good.

[Of course, a Trump Presidency may well usher in other, harder-to-predict, evils. No endorsement of The Donald here. Just making an observation.]"

I am voting for Donald J Trump for president and sending a message to our leftist pope to go pound sand.

  9. Trump reminds me a bit of what an ice breaker does esp. in regions of its densest presence in the world for the purpose of permitting the necessary life supporting materials to get through. Saw this in the cold winter where one of those "plows" had to move up the frozen Delaware to get oil to certain areas. There is then the hope at least of being placed on some form of life support rather than willingly pulling the plug in despair or futile hope of preserving any status quo mingled with evil. It's not just up to Trump to be some pure form of mini-savior where nothing will change as far as comfort zones are concerned. It's up to people to support his means of plowing through the frozen mess already well established. It will continue to be a very bumpy ride where Satan won't give up against such attempts. That is why there must be, for a bear necessity if nothing else, in such a person....a face set like a flint for purposes intended.

I pressed the 'like' button because I'm delighted you have brought up the great unmentionable elephant in the room and fair play for Trump for doing so in such a public anti-establishment manner. I, on the other hand, feel uncomfortable 'liking' a photograph like that!

There are multiple references to this side of Obama available if one googles his name with the appropriate word. I would think that Mr Trump should carefully review his security from this point.

No, Beth, I don't know very much at all. None of us knows the whole truth because there's so much media spin it's impossible to believe anything in the press from any side. If Podesta's emails hadn't been exposed by Wikileaks nobody would have believed there there was actually an organised, concerted plan by people to subvert Church teaching, essentially a take-over of Christ's Church by non-believers controlling people claiming to be believers. We all suspected that something was afoot but none of us would have fully accepted that such a thing could happen. We would still be on the fence about people who saw through those groups from the start. I don't doubt for a minute that there are still plenty of Catholics, including Bishops, would would deny it. That's what leaves me worrying whether there was some complicity by Bishops and even people involved in Catholic educational institutions. Georgetown College being Podesta's Alma Mater, it's understandable that he was still in close contact with them. Nevertheless, I think that Georgetown should be subjected to scrutiny by the hierarchy, if possibly Bishops from outside their diocese and Bishops who are not Jesuits.

The two organisations bring to mind the ACLU and BLM, the Alliance group being similar to the ACLU and BLM being similar to Catholics United. One group does the fancy talking - making the balls for the other group to fire. One group has an air of respectability, sending out a populist message but doesn't get its hands dirty while the other group does the footsoldiering in response to the message.

  14. You have to give it to Drudge for being one of the few who continues to speak truth to power. Most outlets of all kinds are already "terrorized" by those controlling the systems....they don't even need an outside threat; they've willingly surrendered their freedoms to their so called "friends"!

Matt Drudge: Media Can’t Report on Wikileaks Podesta Emails Cuz They’re All in Bed with Hillary

Drudge went on to say it will take the media a generation to recover from the current corruption.

The Wikileaks Podesta emails involve the CEO of Google Eric Schmidt and Facebook executive Sheryl Sandberg, who shared research with the Clinton Campaign.

And as reported earlier— Thanks to the Podesta emails we know that numerous prominent journalists are actively working with the Clinton campaign.

Most of Trump's supporters do not believe the sexual allegations, in spite of the vile references to women. They find it suspect that these accusations have only recently surfaced and suppose that it is just part of the smear campaign by the DNC.

As for another candidate, it seems that Trump is the only one with a huge treasure chest of funds, who has been through the wars in the business world, and was raised with the street-smarts that being a resident of New York City teaches.

This might be a moot point if the election is as rigged as most of us believe it will be.

It is peculiar that these women are only coming forward now. It's not as if he wasn't already a celebrity. He was famous enough for them to have been able to go to the lawyer who represents Bill Cosby's accusers and get her to represent them. I think I saw her with one of his most recent accusers. Who knows what is the real truth of it all. The kind of circles they all move in don't lend themselves to a chaste, monogamous lifestyle. He did move in the same circles as the Clintons before throwing his hat in the ring.

If there's any truth to the women's accusations, Trump will be found guilty in a court of law unlike Clinton who got away scot free without so much as a preliminary court hearing despite her actions having endangered the entire US and possibly all NATO countries. And there was more than enough evidence against Clinton. They even gave immunity to co-conspirators which eliminated any possibility of them incriminating her under cross-examination should they have been prosecuted. The whole business is reminiscent of the Soviet Union or China where the prevailing power gets away with murder and the full force of the State is used against any perceived domestic threat. It's totalitarianism cloaked in democracy.

What surprises me is not that there are no rumours about Obama. It is very strange that a proponent of radical feminism has stood by her man whose philandering is legendary. That's not the profile of her kind of feminist. Even when the stick with the man for the sake of convenience, they don't turn themselves into doormats or faithful lapdogs which is what she has done. They are more likely to stay together while living separate lives. It appears that he does live a separate life, but what about her? Is the press covering for them? I know that some conservative outlets have hinted about her and her assistant who also has a very peculiar marriage, but so far it has only been innuendo. Perhaps she's another whose "coming out" will be hailed as a triumph for the marginalised after she is ensconced in the White House. It's all so unsavoury it makes Hollande riding his scooter to the Mistress's apartment look almost respectable.

List of Debunked Groper Allegations by Corrupt Media Against Donald Trump

    http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2016/10/list-debunked-groper-allegations-corrupt-media-donald-trump/

    and in 2008:
In 2008 the Democrat media hit Republican John McCain with similar allegations. Vicki Iseman, the woman named in the hit piece, settled with The New York Times after the election.

So, it is clear that this is a commonly used tactic by Democrats – use the media to slander and destroy their opposition before the election.

Thankfully, today the conservative media is much stronger than it was eight years ago.

Two different people with big online followings say some revelations about Hillary are imminent. One is Matt Drudge on his personal Twitter account, the other is James O'Keefe of Project Veritas in a session on Reddit. Neither one has specified what exactly is to be revealed. O'Keefe said Monday, noon. Drudge didn't give a time.
