There's a explanation in the body of the article - something about them being flying beetles that come out of the ground to mate before dying off. This part gave me the creeps:
"Entrepreneurial Argentinians are allegedly selling the beetles for $30 per pound. They claim that secretions from the insect boost the human immune system and aide it in combating everything from asthma to AIDS, the Mirror reported."
It doesn't give details of how they use the secretions. The mind boggles.

The past couple of years we've had swarms of flying ants just appear from nowhere. I had never seen the likes of it before. When I went to buy ant killer, there had been a rush on the stuff and I was lucky to get the last couple of boxes. They look more like flies than ants and the experts say that, like the beetles, they die off after mating. I didn't wait to find out if the experts were right and made sure I had plenty of killer on hand last year.

  3. This question I can answer very simply. Drugs are bad, some people become addicted. When this happens, The drugs become their God. They spend their whole day thinking about getting high, how to obtain the drugs to get high. Where they will get money to get that next high. It's a very dark place to be in and the devil feeds off that desolate state. They take over your life and soul. When you're addicted, truly addicted, drugs are your God. That is the state where they become sinful. And that is what makes them horrible. (I have never heard of marijuana causing that kind of addiction, nor, cigarettes or coffee.)

Caffeine can do that.....at least for me. I was so addicted to soda pop that I was constantly thinking about how I could get more if I didn't have any in the house. I was suddenly cured of it a few months ago when I became pregnant and was having terrible morning sickness.....now I can't even stand to think about pop.

  5. I stand corrected:) I wouldn't suggest you try anything harder then! Im sorry you went through that, and am glad you were cured. Addiction is no laughing matter. It's truly an epidemic these days.

Below is another ominous "SIGN" of Financial collapse. Remember back in 2013 when Germany decided that they wanted their Gold back? Gold that was being stored for safekeeping, from possible Soviet attack, in NY, London & Paris. They were told, of course .... but it's gonna take SEVEN YEARS to get it all to you ........ WHY??? .... exactly!! That is the question and do we really have any significant USA Gold Reserve anymore? ... Probably like Comex there are far more claims than Gold to back them ;-(

That they wanted their gold back in the first place begs the question.

The Venezuela crisis is making the news in Ireland so it must be bad!!

    http://www.rte.ie/news/2016/0515/788508-venezuela/

Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro has threatened to seize factories that have stopped production and to jail their owners.

Is this how communism comes to Europe as in the Garabandal prophecies? Economic collapse followed by seizure of property and business by the state?

BBC news quoted the same news as RTE but they added a quote from the Venezuela president he said.

"military exercises would take place next weekend to counter "foreign threats"."

You are right...many Americans have their head in the sand...not all....but too many. Arragonately they continue to believe that it can't happen here...but it will. Gods blessings are coming off of this nation because America continues to embrace evil at its worse. So sad....how many will suffer....

It's not a matter of "can happen" it's happening now .... accelerating a 50+ year trend into economic/financial perdition! When I was a young teen, I could walk into any bank and lay down a dollar bill and demand a Silver Dollar in return. In those days Dimes, Quarters, 1/2 Dollars (remember those?) were also made from Silver. Nickels were... well ... made from Nickel and Pennies made of Copper. Now the coins are of NO intrinsic value and Paper Money is based on the rapidly diminishing "Full Faith & Credit" of the Feral Gubermint. Debasing our Currency (& Faith/Morals) plus 50 years of Political Correctness and creeping godless Socialism have all but destroyed The West and even an oldster like me will probably live to see the Final Collapse :(

PS: Ya Stockin'-Up Yet!!!???? .... while that money in your wallet is still worth something? ........... Get On It!!!

Your message must be getting through to me, CrewDog, because over the past few days there were two occasions when it occurred to me out of the blue that I should be stocking up.

The first occasion was when I took a hankering for some tuna, a fish that I don't particularly like. We always have lots of tinned fish but when I looked for the tuna, we only had three tins of fish altogether and no tuna. The first thought that came into my mind looking at the three miserable cans was "we need emergency supplies".

The second occasion was in the garden centre. It's gardening season here and I'm the world's worst gardener. I spend a small fortune (for me) ever year on weedkiller, grass feed, garden tools and plants that develop a death wish as soon as I buy them. As I was spreading the weed & feed on the grass, it occurred to me that the chemicals in the weedkiller would likely make the ground unsuitable for growing vegetables should there be a food shortage.

With all the uncertainty in the Church and the secular world, I'm leaning towards the better safe than sorry side of the fence. Looking out at what passes for a lawn, I'm beginning to think that I'll live to regret finally winning the war against the nettles last year as well as my most recent assault on this year's dandelions.

Would it be sensible to stock up on packets of vegetable seeds? I have one or two very small areas that haven't been saturated in weedkiller and I suppose that flower pots could be used for growing vegetables. How long is this storm expected to last? Will it be a full growing season? Would it be advisable to stock up on potting compost as well as seeds in case there's some kind of soil contamination? Do vegetable seeds have an expiry date or will they last forever if I don't open the packets?

I expect that any weed killer you buy now is, supposed to be anyway, bio-degradable and will not harm the soil. There are places, on line where you can buy "Legacy Seeds" and still places where you can order survival food. I try every trip to Wal-Mart (Grocer) to stock up on a few staples each visit... like rice, dried beans, Spam, Peanut Butter, dried milk and etc. Always keeping an eye open for On-Sale Items! Am I the only Guy here who has noticed that On-Sale staples are becoming difficult to find!?? I'm hoping it's because I live in the Boonies at the End of the Supply Chain but I'm guessing it's another "SIGN" :(

Thanks CrewDog. I had never heard of Legacy Seeds. I presume they are a brand of long lasting seeds. I'll check it out. I don't think I have ever seen dried milk sold here, but maybe that's because I never looked for it. I don't know what Spam is. I hate peanut butter but I suppose that Nutella would be a good substitute. Rice, dried fruit and pulses should be easy enough to store. What about bottled water? It would be hard to store, and there's no shortage of rivers around here. I was thinking that food preserved in cans or jars often has some liquid in it, whereas dried food could be a problem if there's a shortage of safe water.

In the event of the complete collapse being described here, one can also expect total breakdown in law and order. Therefore, any stocked-up supplies or home-grown vegetables will need to be defended against the rampaging, starving masses who lack your foresight.

One can say that possession of a gun will provide security, but starvation can instil very single-minded determination to its victims before energy-deficit leads to apathy. Also, you will eventually run out of bullets because there will be endless waves of them as urban areas are emptied in desperation.

Charlie Johnson may be right. Rugged individualism will provide security to nobody over the longer term. The hope is that the reality of the catastrophe staring people in the face will shake enough people of goodwill out of their selfish ennui to provide the co-operation necessary to provide for the basic needs of communities.
