Latin is not a problem as the worship of God transends words. Words can be us hindrance. Better get back on thread. I digress.

"For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way."
    2 Thessalonians 2:7

I suspect the restraining hand is off.
This pope plans to regularize the SSPX soon. As they are with no prerequisites. Deo gracias. Our diocesan Tridentine Latin Mass will welcome them as brothers. I've attended an SSPX chapel once, years ago while at a Podatry conference.

Yes, there seems to have been an effort to "change the subject, quick" on this thread. But I don't think your posts contributed to it ;-)

  4. I also love the vernacular. At least Brian and Mac post in English:D even if they do not understand me!

An ex sspx priest is visiting my town this week. He left and joined the Fraternity of St Peter to be closer to Rome. He has been telling us the deal is done. There will be no conditions attached to the agreement. The SSPX will continue as they are.

Sadly when he went to the local Novus Ordo church to ask for the use of an altar to say Mass ,he was sent away.

  6. Sorry you were treated like that but hopefully things will get better. Even with me.

You have mistaken the FSSP for the SSPX (common mistake).

There is no excuse whatsoever for an FSSP priest in full communion with Rome to be denied the use of an altar.

I watched a video of Mark Mallet a few days ago, Mary. He says what will save us in the times of Darkness and Confusion is the rosary. I agree with him as this is what Our ALdy has been saying when she has been sent from heaven.

Also as you say Penance and Fasting which the Mother of God has also asked for.

When you consider our forefathers who went thorugh centuries of Persecutuion , torture, imprisonment and bigotry and hate for the Fiath this is only a small thing and like all evils will soon pass.

This world is only a preparation for heaven.

After the night, the dawn. I am glad now things are out in the open and we can see more clearly.

"[Forte] reportedly expressed opposition to Benedict XVI’s decision to liberalise celebration of the traditional Latin Mass. It is also said that he became very close to Cardinal Carlo Maria Martini, the influential Jesuit Archbishop of Milan, in the latter’s final years."

    ...

"He appeared at a press conference (video) shortly after the report was released. When synod relator general Cardinal Péter Erdő was asked what the section on homosexuality meant, he pointedly turned the floor over to Archbishop Forte, saying: “He who wrote the text must know what it is talking about.”"

    ...

"He seems to have kept a relatively low profile since the mid-term report furore. Some are suggesting that he might succeed Cardinal Gerhard Müller as the Vatican’s doctrinal watchdog. The 65-year-old appears to have Francis’s support, so it wouldn’t be surprising if the Pope made him a cardinal."

    Maryrose,
Occasionally when I'm in Dublin city centre on a Saturday, I attend the 6 p.m. Vigil Mass in Clarendon St. Although it's the ordinary Mass in English, it is very orthodox with no nonsense in a very nice Church. Because they didn't remove the altar rails, people can spread out along the altar rails rather than lining up behind each other and many kneel to receive Communion. I have never seen EMHC's there, although I don't go there very often.

They do have a woman singing at the microphone to the side of the altar. She has a lovely voice, there's nothing showy or performance driven about it and there's no round of applause at the end. After Mass, people gather at a side altar dedicated to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel where a priest leads the Rosary, followed by Benediction. There's a side door to the Church in Johnson's Court which is just off Grafton St. as you walk towards St. Stephen's Green. It's my favourite place to hear Mass in Dublin and they also have good Confession times. I'd recommend it if you're ever up in Dublin on a Saturday. They have some kind of youth thing called Night Fever after Saturday evening Mass a few times per year and I don't think they say the Rosary after Mass when that's on. http://www.clarendonstreet.com/

Now, back to the thread topic. I think that we will have to wait for some future Pope to put things right in the Church. Best to pray that we don't have to wait too long. Many of the priests who invented their own "spirit of Vatican 11" are ageing, soon to be replaced by the Pope John Paul 11 crop. I expect to be pushing up the daisies by the time the Pope Francis generation has full control so I thank God for small mercies. We need to pray a lot for our priests and the Church. As someone else said, it's God's Church. God will fix it. Whether he uses men to fix it or intervenes directly remains to be seen.

I like Clarendon Street too, its on a little alleyway off Grafton Street. There is almost constant confession times there including during mass.

That also happens at the SSPX mass I was last at, they put great emphasis on confession before Communion which I think is very important.

It will be really really great if the SSPX can be brought into the Church completely now, as people are speculating. I hope you are all praying for it!

    Since Orur Lady said,

'In Portugal the Dogna of the Faith will be preserved'..so I will be fascinated to see this in action as these are, of course, the times Our Lady referred to.

Here is a rerun of the Miracle of the Sun which occured in Portugal in 2011:
