prayers needed asap

  1. I know many of us are facing terrors and trial right now. I am too. I especially am within my family. I know I am finding myself 'short and not so sweet' when it comes to things going on. Our Lord & Lady spent seemingly over a year saying to me in adoration, "Be kind,be compassionate"
I'm anything but that these days. I just want everyone to do what they are suppose to do and stay there!
I am reminded of the scripture that father will leave his son, land and mother will leave her daughter etc. I don't know it right off exactly, but it is sooo painful! I know we are purified by this pain, but when it is I who bring it on by my mouth--hurtful words that seemingly speak truth, but NOT IN A LOVING WAY, just in a straightforward, get it done and quitcherbellyaching way....its like I wanna cut my tongue out.

I would like to ask for prayers for a kind and compassionate heart. when we are tired, afraid, sick, or impatient, we tend to lose it more easily. I can only duct tape my mouth shut...Jesus I trust in YOU!!

    praying scripture for you ..

    Luke 40:42
40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” 41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one.

Prayers and mass otday Marti, I am sorry to hear this.

I have no idea what it is like to be the mother of a large growing family, but I guess it must be like cliff climbing at times. I can have a very bad tmeper and a sharp tongue myself at times so I sympathise.

I think in the Gospel at times we get glimpses of Jesus loosing it at times (though of course with Jesus it was never sinful, just a little spiritual ass kicking)...but still it sheers me up .

    http://www.patheos.com/blogs/shrinkingcamel/2009/07/20/even-jesus-got-annoyed-sometimes/

“Aware of their discussion, Jesus asked, “You of little faith, why are you talking among yourselves about having no bread? Do you still not understand? Don’t you remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many basketfuls you gathered? Or the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how many basketfuls you gathered? How is it you don’t understand that I was not talking to you about bread? But be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees. Then they understood that he was not telling them to guard against the yeast used in bread, but against the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”

Prayers for you & Josephite from me too and I'll admit to being in the same boat at times.

But one grace did come my way after a wonderful confession a few days ago as I confessed my failings in my usual struggles. The priest told me that I should offer my communion with the intention of asking the Lord for the grace to not fall into that same sin again. It was the first time that a priest suggested that, and I did it and I have not fallen since, thanks be to God. So I am passing this wonderful suggestion on.

This post cheered me up thanks for sharing.

Padraig has often remarked about the dangers of the tongue and I have to say I can be the worst of the worst at times. Even as I speak at times there is this intense battle just to shut the hell up. CS Lewis once quipped that we are only too willing to take credit for our good deeds but when we lose grip of ourselves we have all sorts of reasons at hand to excuse our behaviour.

It's all character formation though. Building virtue takes time and requires effort but without grace it would come to nothing. In order to be patient I have to practice patience especially in the little things.

Can relate. My mouth is a shovel, digging my way to hell, I'm afraid. Praying for you.

You wouldn't be feeling guilty if you didn't have a kind and compassionate heart. There were eight of us and my mother didn't mince her words but we always knew that she loved us and as we grew older we realised how much she loved us. Whenever I'm feeling sorry for myself over some little ache or pain, I can hear her snapping at me "there's always an a**se or an elbow wrong with you" and I smile, offer it up and thank God for the parents he gave me.

Don't worry, some day you'll be able to sit back in your empty nest and pat yourself on the back for a job well done. You and your family will be in my prayers, as will Josephite's.

I have been where you are Marti, I think we all have! You are in my prayers my friend. We should all be praying for each other especially this wonderful family here on MOG. Pray for my dryness please my friends. I am fine with the dryness because I know it is quite normal on our spiritual journeys but what I need prayers for is to help set up a routine of prayer. Prayer routine and habit building through the dryness will help greatly. When the dryness comes, it is not that the dryness in our prayer life is bad at all because it gives us is the test and opportunity from the Lord to persevere through. Pray for me my friends that I find the ability to persevere through and build a great habit of prayer even when that prayer feels like dust in my mouth!

I had a funny old week with things like this on tow occasions this week and both of them with prayer seem to have worked ot just fine.

Earlier in the week opened my window to let the dogs jump out and play in the back lot of our appartments. This lot is locked with two sperate gates . The lady upstairs has a beautiful spaniel and I am careful not to let the dogs out if I see she is out there. However there was a mix up . My dog had jumped back in the window and when the lady let her own dog out she did not realise my window was open. Saldy my own dog jumped out and attacked the poor Spaniel . Much screaming and barking. Happily no harm really was done. But she called the dog warden in.

She was of course very, very angry.

However last night she met me coming home and apologised saying ti was her own fault for not checking my window was oepning. Many sorrys for me , many sorrys from her and it was all solved.

Yesterday morning I had a row with my boss , who I am afraid is something of a bully and raised my voice to her in front of the whole office. The whole place was like a dead zone with no one speaking for a few hours. Later however she cahnged her attiude, much smiling and asking if she could help me in anyway and the air seems to have been cleared.

I think sometimes things cna look really , really bad especially right after they happen and we think the worst. But St Paul tells us in Romans that for those who love God all things work together nto the good.

I have seen thsi time and time again tha tthese nasty things reslove themselves in time. But often it does take a little time. But Jesus is always walking with us through it all.

Last night I was praying and Jesus showed me areas in my life, in my soul that need healing. I twas like looking at a great Park and I saw places in the park that were parched and dying and He told me He wanted to bring new life to them. I felt so discouraged and daunted and said to Jesus, 'Its just too much , I'll try but I don't think I can manage it. It's no good you'll just have to come and do it yourself@.

    To which Jesus answered,
'Good that's just what I wanted you to to say, what I was waiting for. To realise how little you are without me. I was waitng for you to invite me in to fix these things'.:)

So by looking at these things form a human perspective it all seems impossible and myself a total failure, which in large measure I am. But Jesus is coming. Jesus is going to fix it. Jesus will raise me up.

    Bad temper and all.:D

    Psalm 71:20

In You, O Lord, I Take Refuge
…19For Your righteousness, O God, reaches to the heavens, You who have done great things; O God, who is like You? 20You who have shown me many troubles and distresses Will revive me again, And will bring me up again from the depths of the earth. 21May You increase my greatness And turn to comfort me.…

The best thing about falling all the time is that Chirst has to walk about carrying me in His arms all the time.

If I were perfect He would let me walk on my own.

So I get to get carried.:)

Please, please offer prayers for the soul of a neighbor who just committed suicide this morning. From all outside appearances he had a lovely life. Close relationship with his wife, very popular and amiable. His oldest graduates as salutatorian of his high school in a few weeks, his second son was just confirmed in the church with my son last week. His young daughter is also a stellar student and popular. He was not a churchgoer and I worry so much for his soul as well as for the future of his family. I truly feel the storm descending.

It's so sad but when I was younger I saw so many around me who appeared to have it all. And I was jealous of their lives and the confidence that they had. Now I am grateful for my insecurities. I know things aren't always what they appear to be. I pray daily for the souls who will die this day and are in danger of eternal damnation. I'll add him and his family into my prayers .

And MS7 I wish I was like you and said my mind! There needs to be more of MS7's.

    God Bless!
