Luz de Maria is becoming to me more and more a kind of locutions to the world. I would like to made a reflection about it but my limitations of english language prevents me from doing this. Recent Luz messages have been talking about how people are already easily volunteering their personal information on various types of social media so that they've already accepted and trusted these conveniences of communication.....so they are gradually being influenced to accept other technology that would also be necessary for their very existence, esp. since this makes life easier...i.e. the chip! I always read here this kind of statement regarding apparitions, people saying that do not feel good with an apparition etc. and I read almost the entirely Forum and know what I am talking about. I stumbled upon many comments like that. That's life and that's private revelation. This kind of censorship seems connected to emotionalism linked to a seer.

It's not a question of emotionalism, just of trying to come to a proper and informed evaluation when it comes to any private revelation. Voicing personal opinions is fine as long as they are recognized as being just that - opinions. They aren't the same as objective analysis. Let me say openly that if new hard and well-estabished facts materialize regarding any alleged mystic discussed on this forum that expose them as frauds, I would not hesitate to publicize such information. However, on principle, I personally would not dare to be speak in a dismissive or derogatory fashion about any private revelation that has even a slight chance of being authentic, because of the risk of finding myself speaking against God Himself. That is a risk I am not willing to take. This is not a game, and the stakes are extremely high. Having doubts/questions/criticism is absolutely legitimate, but please be responsible.

I thank God for such love and mercy, as to reveal his plans to us so that we may prepare our soul and flesh for what is to come. For my part, I would never follow any message that is contrary to scripture or church teaching in matters of faith or morals. While I endorse the theme of God's many messages, it doesn't define my faith, rather it readies me through prayer, sacraments, the rosary, meditative readings from the bible and other good resources. I don't dwell in the messages to where it causes fear, rather knowing what God is doing brings me comfort in understanding he cares enough for his children to speak to us, as I also speak to my children. I have found (of my 11 children) that those who are not practicing the faith sincerely, do not want to hear what God is revealing, while the younger ones who are praying the rosary, going to confession and practicing the faith are not scared. They are at peace. They love the Lord of the Rings series and realize there is a battle of good and evil taking place as we speak and they want to be part of the good that wins in the end. Me too.

I may have commented before but Luz De Maria and that guy Pedro use similar verb age. They are both phony's in my personal opinion. They tickle your ear with some out of sync and bizarre statements but rarely if ever deliver. Even pagans and new ager's speak of a pole shift and planet X. They tell us what we already know and with a little intuition we can ascertain on our own.
It was Peter who led me to this forum and we share many approaches to private revelation so I find it difficult to start arguing against his point of view as expressed in recent postings. But I do want to come to the defence of those who question the authenticity of ANY private revelation that might be promoted on this forum. I do think that people should feel free to respond to any message posted on the forum in whatever way they feel able. Yes, they should always remain charitable but I don't think they should feel it necessary to put forward structured arguments why they feel the way they do. Recognising God's voice is dependant on many things and it is not always easy to express why a message seems not to be from God. The argument about avoiding the danger of 'speaking against God' is a strong one which we all need to be very careful about but, equally, we should not, I feel, take the position of welcoming any message that happens to tell us things that we already believe. It is the latter method that the devil uses to great effect in his promotion of false seers. And make no mistake, there are vastly more false messages than authentic ones out there, just as at the time of Bernadette from Lourdes. Just as this forum generally allows the discussion of most claimed messages from God, so it should also allow people to tell us that they don't believe a word of it! If we take the case of Luz de Maria, I myself believe there is zero chance of these messages coming from God and so I think it is important that in a forum that allows these messages to be regularly posted and promoted, critical responses should be allowed and even encouraged. Without the criticisms, some readers of the forum might start to assume that they must come from God simply because no one is challenging them.
I don't have a problem with your voicing your opinion, David, because you include those crucially important words 'I myself believe' which means that you assume responsibility for your view. That's fine. It's when (as I saw just yesterday regarding another alleged messenger) people write flatly 'she is false' with no qualifiers that they overstep the boundary, because they equate their own opinion with truth in a way that is at best naïve, at worst presumptuous. Our divergence over subjects such as Luz de Maria basically comes from different approaches in the way that we read texts, or, put more technically, different views on epistemology and hermeneutics. This is I think inevitable, as the reading strategies we employ when faced by this material have a huge impact on the result of our evaluation of that material. You clearly allow far greater room for intuition and subjective impression (which is your right, of course), whereas I attempt inasafar as possible to screen out my own views because I do not consider them to provide a stable basis for discernment. That's why I try to prioritize objective criteria such as compatibility with the Deposit of Faith (obviously), statements from Church representatives where available, comprehension and analysis of the text in the original language, possible convergence with other sources when it can be established that these are genuinely independent, assessment of accompanying phenomena etc. My personal likes and dislikes are wholly irrelevant: using this kind of methodology has led me to view positively a good number of sources which initially I actively disliked because they challenged my own theological paradigms. In such cases due consideration of the evidence persuaded me that it was my paradigm that had to change (I'm arguing here in favour of scientific inquiry's view of the relationship between evidence and paradigms)... I do however agree with you that the presentation of any messages that appear on this site is critical, so let me state my own position as clearly as I can: All private revelation, past or present, even including that of canonized saints, has to be judged on a case-by-case basis as there can be no guarantees of freedom from error (event St Catherine of Siena had at least one false vision in which 'Mary' argued against the notion of her Immaculate Conception). This means that everything included here is posted on a 'for your discernment' basis, and as far as I am concerned there are no exceptions to that rule. Setting any 'messenger' on a pedestal is to be strongly discouraged, as looking for infallible oracles is more a sign of insecurity and spiritual immaturity than anything else.
David, This is a danger I tend to fall into. Deciding on a particular scenario and then embracing messages that conform to that understanding can send me down a blind alley. That's why Fatima's statement of focusing primarily on living the Faith is important. Let the multiple warnings we hear motivate us to follow the Lord wholeheartedly. I am puzzled by this; the Catholic Church does not require us to believe in any private revelation, only the public revelation that is contained in the Bible. We can fulfill our obligation as Catholics and go to Heaven even if we completely ignore private revelation. The most the Church ever says is that something private revelation is "worthy of belief." On other forums I was hammered by proponents of "Locutions to the World" for expressing disbelief, and told I was endangering my soul by scoffing at the words of the Blessed Mother Herself! My soul was never in danger on those grounds, because God Himself would never hold us to a higher standard than that of his Church -- and that standard is the belief in public revelation, not private. I would hope no reader would feel pressure or fear not to dismiss any revelation on the grounds that it has "even a slight chance of being authentic." It is impolite to scoff, certainly, and should be avoided. But I won't go to Hell even if I ignore Fatima or Lourdes, although I will certainly miss out on a gift God has offered. Much less do I have to worry about committing any sin when I ignore or dismiss a visionary whose revelations have not been tested or approved.
