There was a story in the French press about a similar event a few months ago. Russian jet flew over US destroyer in the Black Sea and the US equipment picked up no sign of the planes. So when Kerry says today that the US could have shot down the Russian planes, you have to wonder if this is true. You can only shoot down what you see coming...
So besides PayPal, it seems like most other corporations, sports teams, etc, etc, are boycotting the state of NC over the bathroom law. It's mind boggling to me that anyone would object to a law that says if you have man body parts you use a restroom designated "men" and if you have female body parts you use a different room labeled "women". We have not planned our summer vacation yet, but am now seriously considering going to the beaches of NC to do spend my money and feel safe that my daughter can use a rest room where a guy will not enter. I don't know why with all the crap going on in this country, but this one just pisses me off big time. I'm sick of liberal weenies imposing their bs on me and my family. I hope NC doesn't fold, but unfortunately, the economic pressure they are facing is growing and growing.
Just last night I saw a special report on the News dealing with the severe shortage of spare parts for Marines triggered by a report a couple of weeks ago about the Marines "raiding" planes in museums for spares to keep the operational fleet going. The report dealt with a Hornet & Sea Stallion outfits. The mission ready rate of aircraft was abysmal impacting training and combat readiness ... not to mention Flight Safety! I lived through the lean post Vietnam, Jimah Carter, years where the same sort of thing was going on. They called it The Hollowed Out Military in those days. We were not in an active fight then as now and it appears that the situation is much worse presently! Plus throw in 40+ years of Political Correctness ... Gay/Feminist Agenda and, God Only Knows What, the Liberal Anti-Military Agenda taught in Public "Education" These Days". I'm sure the Navy, AF and Army are all confronting the same spares and training shortages. I truly believe that we are in far more dangerous times than we were 40 years ago and we simply DO NOT have the treasure, Faith/civic morals and fortitude now. Another piece of the puzzle called The Storm? ............... and for all My European Friends! The Sugar Daddy called Uncle Sam is dissolving before our eyes ... Ya Know!! The Guy with the Blood, Treasure and Nuclear Umbrella that allowed Europe to go down their Merry Socialist Way without worry about those Barbarians from the East! ................. and now South! GOD SAVE THE REPUBLIC & ALL HERE!!
Speaking of Signs & Seers .... from 1965.! I'm sure many USA Types remember the Radio commentator, Paul Harvey! I grew up with him and continued to listen to him until his death a dozen years ago or so. Many may have heard this from his show over 50 years ago. Might be worth hearing anew or again! ............. and recall the road that we were already on five decades ago!! GOD SAVE ALL HERE!!
Something to keep in mind. When there are things that favor our preferences, such as a baker being able to say no to baking a cake, we say we should be allowed to do this over religious liberties moral objections. The same goes the other way. The other side should be allowed to do the same. We should be framing it though as right of religious liberties and moral objections so that it applies to all sides. We need to change the way it is being framed to make it obvious that it goes both ways.
I recently read what seemed a very authoritative article by William S. Lind over on TraditionalRight.com to the effect that Russia has really upped its game in terms of military equipment standards since the fall of the USSR. He reckons that not only are their weapons more reliable, but also much simpler and more service-friendly, thus less likely to break down and easier to repair. Also, most of their weapons get sprinkled with holy water by priests before being used in action.
We should be framing it as "FREEDOM OF SPEECH"! It is a settled point of law that businesses cannot compel speech, nor can any governmental agency. Your boss cannot compel you to attend a meeting or wear a t-shirt in favor of something you don't approve of. Yet here businesses are being forced to close because they won't display a message they don't agree with. It's being framed as "Freedom of Religion", which frankly, has NEVER flown in America. The Missouri State Constitution of 1864 had provisions in it requiring doctors, lawyers, clergy, and other professionals to sign loyalty oaths and to swear that they had never provided aid, support, or comfort to any soldier in the recent rebellion. If not, clergy were not allowed to perform weddings or preach sermons. Catholic priests where primary targets, since they would not state that they had never heard a Confederate soldier's confession and the like. (A group of nuns were forced to flee the state ahead of a group charged with arresting them.) One priest was arrested under the provisions of this constitution and imprisoned. His bishop appeared before the court dressed in full episcopal regalia, Bible in one hand and crozier in the other. This priest's case eventually was heard before the US Supreme Court, where the state constitution was struck down. A variety of legal reasons were given, but most justices said the constitution amounted to a writ of attainder, which is where the legislature, not a court, declares someone guilty and assigns a punishment. Such writs are forbidden by the US Constitution. NONE of the arguments before the court touched on religious liberty, even though it was a priest whose case was brought before the court; they all dealt with doctors and lawyers who could not practice their professions due to a declaration by the legislature that they were guilty. The priest in question was so "mistreated" (i.e., tortured) in prison that he was later sent to a mental institution, where he committed suicide. So drop the "religious liberty" arguments; start focusing on freedom of speech!
This is really getting crazy...another huge earthquake just occurring in Ecquador - a 7.4. No reports yet. Praying it's not bad. Seems like there has been a lot of earthquakes the last week or so. http://www.cnn.com/2016/04/16/americas/magnitude-7-4-earthquake-hits-ecuador/index.html
Yeah Mike I was watching the earthquake maps last week and of course the news coverage was limited but the maps clearly showed a lot of activity especially in Alaska and Vanuatu islands I also noticed that the volcano (that Peter B posted about) in Italy is a bit restless (Mount Vesuvius)
Prayers for Japan, Ecuador and people in other areas hit by these terrible events. I also read about a bizarre foam that covered streets of Fukuoka after the quake. Does anyone have any explanations for the cause of that foam and how it relates to a quake? There are truly big events affecting more and more people hourly, we really have to keep up our prayers.
with the quake in Ecquador, I wonder if this earth shaking is now shifting westward across the Pacific to the Americas?
There have also I believe been some reports from Yellowstone Park in the USA , with accusations of a conver up. Apparently the Govt have stopped taking seismological readings there for some reason.
lol I prefer this site.. http://quakes.globalincidentmap.com/ Just noticed a very unusual quake 4.5 in Greenland..
http://www.garnertedarmstrong.org/endtimeheadlines-6-0plusquakes.shtml This website may help determine if the activity is unusually worse than normal.
Hi all, since we live less than a mile from the Pacific Ocean at sea level in Oregon, we have a huge interest in earthquakes. The high school in our city, Seaside High has been on the national news lately trying to solicit funds to move the high school to higher ground. My daughter could watch the ocean from most of her classes. That was one of the beautiful things that drew us to this little town. So we keep up on all seismic activity. The area called the Cascadia Subduction Zone is a bit out in the ocean but we have been warned that any quake in that area will more than likely cause a tsunami. The higher the intensity of the quake, the bigger the tsunami. This is a really great site for all world seismic activity: http://ds.iris.edu/seismon/ But, with all of the news of late and what our saints and seers have to tell us of the upcoming events, I just might head to the beach and try out my son's surfboard. You know, the living will envy the dead? Just kidding, I'll probably start running while saying the Divine Mercy chaplet. That shall be a comical sight
In the book "Lucifer's Hammer", the first really accurate book about end-of-the-world stuff (the Hammer is a comet that hits earth), the comet impact causes a HUGE tsunami off the coast of Los Angeles. A bunch of surfers are out catching waves when the tsunami hits, and the chapter describes one of the people riding the wave, far longer than anyone else in surfing history has done; and he basks internally in his glory until the tsunami slaps him into a high-rise.
Sounds like you live in heaven on earth already. Consider yourself lucky that the tsunami will be warm water and spare a thought for those of us who will be shivering in the Atlantic. Some people have all the luck. Seriously, have you made contingency plans for getting to high ground on congested roads if everyone else is driving in the same direction? A motor bike or moped might be a good investment. Is it true that a big earthquake or a serious of earthquakes could move the earth on its axis? Maybe I imagined it, but I thought there was mention of that after a previous big earthquake - the one in Japan that took out the nuclear plant.
Yes, we do have some contingency plans. Several bug-out bags and one car with enough supplies for two weeks or longer. But we've had to come to terms with God's will as we have no idea where we'll be if the big one happens. It's a little scary right now as even another 6 point or so quake hit the island of Tonga within the last two hours.
