Charlie is such a great writer. But one little thing concerning the refuges, I don't believe God intends them as a cast iron guarantee of safety, but as a means of collective charitable assistance as the monasteries were during the Dark Ages. They are God's Will and I believe should be accepted as such. I was a little surprised to see Charlie giving them a back swing. In a sense we will all of us be refuges to each other.

But a great post. I wonder would you criticise someone for telling us our house is on fire? In some sense people like Charlie Johnston are doing this. Would we rather know than not know? Would we blame the person who warns us for scaring us?

I think I would have taken up what Charlie is saying differently Mac. I thought the whole impetus of what Charlie was writing was to indicate that there is not hiding place. However I think the thing I must admire about Charlies message is the emphasis he places on the need for each of us to help each other and to trust in God.

    I think this is wonderful.

''Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful''

    Not everyone will perish Mac.

Lots of people will survive and will rebuild from the foundations.

Although I'm on the fence about whether there will be a storm and rescue, I think that we all could benefit from this advice:

I warn you not to put your hopes in traditional politics. It is collapsing around our very eyes. I know that is the way we have always moved on. Not this time. If you are riding a bus and it pulls over to the side of the road because it has caught fire, the engine has dropped out and the wheels have fallen off, getting a new driver will not help with the problem. Right now, getting passionate about politics can only tempt you to sin against charity. Our problem is spiritual and cultural. It is not in our stars, but in ourselves. Salvation will not come via a heroic figure from without, but by the quiet resolve to follow God by loving our neighbor from within.

Also, reading anything by Yeats gives me the heebie jeebies since I read that he dabbled in the occult..

The question really should be 'Am I ready to die now'?

Am I in a state of grace ready to meet my maker as we don't know the day or hour?

So, I may not be around when the fire falls because it could be a number of years/decades away and I may be on the 'other side' with my Maker.

All the signs are there Mac.

But the signs have been there for quite a while.

It's kinda like waiting for a bus that never seems to arrive.

But it is not a bus coming but a bulldozer!!

I am actually pleased the chastisements have not come yet as it has taken me a while to root out certain sins out of my life.

Thank God it didn't come 10 years ago as I was just not ready or prepared spiritually.

My heart sank when I read that. I didn't know there were any Catholics left in Austria, particularly Vienna. The universal Church might benefit from having fewer Cardinals in Europe and other regions where the faith is on the decline and more from regions where the faith is spreading.

I think what struck me most was actually a response Charlie has in the comments beneath his post. A reader writes that she is fearful for her children and CJ tells her then thus us where satan will go after her. She needs to learn to trust God in taking care of her children too. This really hit home for me. I too often worry about my kids both their physical but also spiritual lives. It causes great stress and anxiety for me. Even before reading CJs response, i have sensed this is an open door to satan in my life. I need to really work on this and quickly. I think this Divine Mercy Sunday, I will offer up and ask God for His grace to help me in this area of my life.

Surrender all fears to God. Offer your fears to Him as to a Father.

Have confidence and trust in God for your children that He loves them more than you do and has a plan for them (that they maybe don't realise yet).

Offer up every little annoyance for their salvation.

Be a sign of hope to them by just being there when they need you.

My eldest son is away from the faith away from the Church. This used to cause me untold anxiety, worry and stress until I learnt to surrender it to God.

But I have come to know that my son will be saved because I believe God has heard my (many) supplications, knows my heart and accepts my sufferings in reparation for him. I have entrusted my first-born to the care of Almighty God and know in faith that He has heard the cry of my heart. I have much suffering to endure as well for other members of my family and extended family but we are called to sanctity in order that God may work in us and through us for his own kind purposes. Since I want and desire them to be saved there is an onus on me to to give God a complete Fiat to His will and immerse myself in Him and His precepts through obedience by His Divine Grace.

    I have 3 sons.

Two live away from home (one is in China).

Yet when I go into that place of prayer, that inner sanctuary, and pray for them, call them to mind in love, I am closer to them than if they are physically present in a hug. There is no distance between us. I am often 'really with them' through prayer.

I often give them spiritual hugs!

I am sure there are others on this forum who have this 'sense' of presence of loved ones who are apart?

I have had dreams several times about death. One I recall particulary vividly. I dramt I was lying on a hospital room dying with my whole family and firends around he bed keeping me company and consoling me. but one thing I remember is the thought that ran through me mind,

'These people are very good and its great that they are keeping me company but this is something I have to do on my own. They're not doing it , I am. ':)

St Paul reminds us that we should work out our salvation in fear in trembling
, but I recall the wrods of Pope St John 23rd when he got his diagnosis of terminal stomache cancer, 'my bags are packed and I'm ready to go, so this makes me smile.

So death for me brings on feelings of awe, a certain trembling but a certain joy and anticipation too. I know God is going to Judge me, its not up to me to Judge myself. But when I think of Mary standing by side up there at the Judgement Seat it fill me with Joy. She has never let me down in the past, she will not start then.

Keep Mary by your side in this life, so she can stand with you in the next. For yourself and for your family and loved ones.

...by the way EWTN are doing a great live stream on Mother Angelica on utube at the moment, well worth watching. I had forgotten what a tangle she got in with many US Bishops and Cardinals, bless her.

    Wonderful fearless woman.

I am new to this site and I have a lot of reading (understatement) to do to get caught up. But I hope that you don't mind me asking and I do know that Charlie himself is a member here and he may answer this directly but I think that anyone on this thread will know the answer to this question, Charlie does not believe in the prophecies of Garabandal correct? And his visions do not confirm The Warning or The Miracle?
I believe in the Garabandal prophecies but I just wish that other current visions were directly including those prophecies. Charlie's prophecy about the mass conversion of Muslims seems to hint to The Warning and The Miracle. Can someone here who believes in the Garabandal prophecies give me their perspective on how Charlie's prophecies fit in with The Warning and The Miracle? To me it sounds like we are rapidly moving towards "when things are at their worst." Thank you so much.

I do keep praying and praying.

I never heard that Charlie does not believe in Garabandal. But if he comes across this I am sure he might answer this himself. I still believe myself, I think it is Conchita herself that continues to convince, to me face just shines with holiness.
