Trump said planned parenthood does good things for women and he would not defund it.

He tries to shout down any attempt by anyone when they call him out on his record.

He would NOT say that he would defund them. If you give them a half a billion dollars of tax dollars ....regardless of what they SAY they are using it for, you are still contributing to a baby killing organization that kills babies and sells baby parts!

It's TITLE X federal money....planned parenthood is getting a HALF BILLION DOLLARS. They can say that they will use it for contraception or anything....the fact is, you are FUNDING A BABY KILLING ORGANIZATION! I know because I lobbied congress to stop this.

    This is absolute EVIL!!!!!!

When the gruesome videos about planned parenthood surfaced, trump said, " oh yeah , I'll defund them". Then he changed his mind...saying women convinced him that he should reconsider because of all the good things they do! This statement proves that HE WILL NOT DEFUND THEM!

Watch these two VIDEOS..(link below).he does not say he will defund planned parenthood...he just says...not abortion...but he knows that you CANT SEPARATE what they use the money for!

    He is a LIAR.

This is why PROLIFE GROUPs say."ANYONE BUT TRUMP!"

One of the more contentious exchanges last night during the debate was how Trump went on the attack on Ted Cruz, and then Cruz just gutted him with his accusation that he supported Planned Parenthood. Trump absolutely denied it, until Cruz quoted him verbatim, and then Trump caved.

This is why I support a guy like Cruz. Watch the video in this link(below)... It says it all.

Speaking at an event supporting Ted Cruz in South Carolina on Saturday, conservative media mogul Glenn Beck told an audience that his former employer, Fox News, once told him to “stop telling people to pray.”

In a Facebook video posted by an attendee at the rally, Beck can be heard recalling several conversations he says took place while he was still employed by Fox News.

He began by telling the audience, “I swore I was never going to tell this story.”

We don't need Ted Cruz or anyone else to tell us what Donald Trump said about Planned Parenthood. Here is Trump in his own words:

"While Planned Parenthood is engaging in the despicable practice of abortion — in addition to then selling aborted baby body parts to the highest bidder — the organization should receive no taxpayer dollars. The liberal left wing always claims that Planned Parenthood isn’t about abortion and that it’s about other general areas of women’s health. I am totally in favor of women’s health and if they can put their money where their mouth is, and stop the abortion services at Planned Parenthood entirely, we can talk about government funding for many of the other aspects of the organization that do a lot of good."

Establishment politicians like the Cruzs and the Santorums had their chance to defund Planned Parenthood and failed. Sanctimonious types like Santorum were part of the problem because they were speaking out of both sides of their mouth on the issue. I recall that Santorum supported Title X funding.

So, now it's time for a non-politician adult like Trump to clean up the mess. Trump's position on Planned Parenthood is political genius. He is essentially offering Planned Parenthood a deal: Stop doing abortions and get SOME funding for other women's health issues like mammograms and the like. Continue to do abortions and lose ALL funding for all services.

The genius of this approach is that it will gain support from both sides of the aisle and if Democrats refuse this kind of generous deal then they will be backed into a corner. It appears that certain pro-life groups hate Donald Trump so much that not only do they continue to lie about the man's stated position on Planned Parenthood, but they would be willing to derail a viable chance to end federal funding for abortion.

Excellent interview of Donald Trump by Michael Savage. They touch on Scalia, Ted Cruz's dirty tactics, and the issue of Donald Trump's Supreme Court nominees:

Trump tells Savage that he is the only Republican candidate that has thus far given specific names on who he would nominate to the Supreme Court: "We could have a Diane Sykes or a Bill Pryor, we have some fantastic people,” Trump told the audience during the South Carolina debate.

    Who is Diane S. Sykes?

Sykes is a federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. She was nominated by George W. Bush and confirmed in 2004. She went to Northwestern University and attended Marquette University Law School. She was dropped as a name for the U.S. Supreme Court under President George W. Bush. She was part of the 2011 panel that held a Chicago ban on firing ranges unconstitutional. Prior to being appointed on the federal court, Sykes served as Justice on the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

    Who is Bill Pryor?

Pryor is a federal judge in the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He was nominated by President George W. Bush in 2003. His nomination was filibustered so in 2004, President Bush installed the former Alabama Attorney General on the court during a congressional recess appointment. Democrats scrutinized Pryor for some of his conservative stands, including on Roe v. Wade. Pryor previously said, according to confirmation hearing testimony, that Roe was “the worst abomination in constitutional law in history.”http://lawnewz.com/important/donald-trumps-says-hed-consider-these-two-judges-for-u-s-supreme-court/

Donald Trump Is Planned Parenthood’s Favorite Republican

The GOP front-runner said in an interview Tuesday that he supported the status quo when it comes to Planned Parenthood. The group couldn’t be more pleased.
Planned Parenthood gained an unlikely new booster on Tuesday morning: Republican front-runner Donald Trump.

The billionaire told Chris Cuomo on CNN’s New Day that he opposes federal funding going to Planned Parenthood to pay for abortions, but that he’s OK with tax dollars going to the group to pay for other services that it provides.

“The problem that I have with Planned Parenthood is the abortion situation. It is like an abortion factory, frankly,” Trump began. “And you can’t have it. And you just shouldn’t be funding it. That should not be funded by the government, and I feel strongly about that.”

Then Cuomo asked Trump if he could support funding for other Planned Parenthood efforts, such as providing contraception to women.

“What I would do when the time came, I’d look at the individual things they do, and maybe some of the individual things they do are good,” Trump continued, with characteristic eloquence. “I know a lot of the things are bad. But certainly the abortion aspect of it should not be funded by government, absolutely.”

And he went on: “I would look at the good aspects of [Planned Parenthood], and I would also look, because I’m sure they do some things properly and good and that are good for women, and I would look at that, and I would look at other aspects also. But we have to take care of women.”

So here’s the thing: As NPR detailed last week, federal law prevents the use of taxpayer dollars to pay for abortions in virtually all cases.

Planned Parenthood gets federal money through the Title X family planning program—none of those funds can be used to pay for abortions—and through Medicaid, which can cover the cost of abortions only “in very restricted cases.”

So, in short, Trump defended the status quo: half a billion dollars of taxpayer cash for the group.

    Planned Parenthood applauded Trump’s remarks.

“Donald Trump seems to have realized that banning all abortions, shutting down the government, and defunding Planned Parenthood are extreme positions that are way too far outside the mainstream for even him to take,” said spokesman Eric Ferrero in a statement.

“We hope that the rest of the GOP field will wake up and reconsider their extreme and unpopular positions on defunding preventive care, abortion bans, and the other economic issues that women and their families care about,” Ferrero continued.

In other words, Trump is Planned Parenthood’s favorite Republican presidential candidate right now (or their least un-favorite).

While the billionaire’s comments have pleased the one side of the debate, they have predictably left pro-life activists angry and frustrated. That’s because when pro-life activists talk about defunding Planned Parenthood, they aren’t talking about that tiny exception in Medicaid; they’re talking about zeroing out all taxpayer dollars that the organization receives.

They argue that any dollar that goes to the organization is, ultimately, supporting abortion.

ecause money is fungible, subsidizing any of the operations of the nation’s largest performer of abortions (rather than re-routing that money to community health centers not engaged in abortions) is a boon to the merchants of death,” wrote Dan McLaughlin at the conservative site RedState a few hours after Trump made his comments.

ecause money is fungible, subsidizing any of the operations of the nation’s largest performer of abortions (rather than re-routing that money to community health centers not engaged in abortions) is a boon to the merchants of death,” wrote Dan McLaughlin at the conservative site RedState a few hours after Trump made his comments.

(This isn’t Trump’s first clash with RedState. Last week, RedState Founder Erick Erickson disinvited Trump from a weekend confab for Republican contenders after Trump’s comments about Fox News’ Megyn Kelly.)

Mallory Quigley, communications director for the pro-life political group Susan B. Anthony List, echoed McLaughlin’s remarks.

“We have always opposed federal funding for Planned Parenthood because they are America’s largest abortion business and any dollars that they receive free up other funding, which is available for abortion,” Quigley told The Daily Beast.

Federal tax dollars make up a huge part of the monies Planned Parenthood gets every year. In 2014, the organization received $528.4 million from the federal government. In contrast, it only took in $54.7 million in fees charged for services. The remainder of its funding for that year—about $563 million—came from nongovernment sources, private donors, and foundations.

Losing taxpayer funding can impact the organization’s effectiveness—a scenario that has played out on the state level.

Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin was forced to close five clinics—none of which performed abortions, per the group’s spokesperson—after Gov. Scott Walker signed budgets eliminating its state funding.

Chris Taylor, a Wisconsin state representative and former public policy director at Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin, told The Daily Beast that any further state funding cuts—including losing access to federal Title X dollars—“will certainly put more clinics at risk.”

For pro-life activists, fewer clinics would be—and has been—a big win. So Trump’s defense of federal funding for the organizations baffled pro-life activists who spoke with The Daily Beast.

“I’m not quite sure what he was thinking when he said that, to be honest with you,” said Kerri Kupec of the conservative Christian group Alliance Defending Freedom.

“To say, let’s keep funding the quote unquote good aspects—why are we making Americans and their hard-earned tax dollars complicit in this gross behavior that Planned Parenthood is engaging in, this callous disregard for human life?” she added.

    Others piled on too.

“All his bankruptcies taught Donald Trump about such cheap accounting tricks,” said John Zmirak, a pro-life columnist for the Christian news aggregation site The Stream. “Planned Parenthood is a criminal enterprise with roots in racist eugenics. If Trump wants taxpayers to subsidize their baby organ profiteering, he should be man enough to admit it.”

And Lila Rose, a prominent pro-life activist and head of the group Live Action, said Trump must not have watched the sting videos that renewed interest in defunding the organization.

“Trump’s vacillation on Planned Parenthood funding is deeply troubling, and reveals an ignorance about their horrific abortion practices,” she said.

Still more activists have been left scratching their heads.

Penny Nance, who heads the group Concerned Women for America, emailed that she plans to ask him to clarify whether he supports shifting Planned Parenthood funds to community health centers that don’t provide abortions, or whether he supports the status quo.

The Trump camp didn’t respond to a request for clarification from The Daily Beast.

And Bob Vander Plaats, an influential Iowa social conservative who heads The Family Leader, said his group “will probably want to discuss it with him further.”

“It’s a little bit like a boys and girls home family services-type-deal that, well, we’ve discovered that these boys and girls are being physically abused, but hey, they’re all getting their GEDs, so let’s keep funding them getting their GED,” he said. “No, if you’re doing wrong, you’re doing wrong. And you don’t get funded by the government for doing wrong.”

Well....looks like trump want to appoint two losers for the Supreme Court .

One more reason to question his judgement,,,

Check out these two judges...they now have a record and are now know quantities ...and they stink!

Trump Says He’d Consider Bill Pryor for Supreme Court, AG Who Prosecuted ‘Ten Commandments’ Judge
    http://christiannews.net/2016/02/14...urt-ag-who-prosecuted-ten-commandments-judge/
Bill Pryor, the former attorney general of Alabama, prosecuted Roy Moore in 2003 over his refusal to remove a Ten Commandments monument from the rotunda of the Alabama Supreme Court. Pryor’s comments to Moore during his trial focused more on Moore’s refusal to stop acknowledging God as chief justice.

Wanda Skyes, Trump’s other selection, wrote the majority opinion in a 2013 case that barred the state of Indiana from defunding Planned Parenthood. She was nominated to the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals by then-President George W. Bush.

“The defunding law excludes Planned Parenthood from Medicaid for a reason unrelated to its fitness to provide medical services, violating its patients’ statutory right to obtain medical care from the qualified provider of their choice,” Sykes wrote.

She then stressed the court’s belief in the “right” to abortion, and advised that the state must be careful to not indirectly limit access to abortion while simultaneously withholding taxpayer funds from known abortion providers.

“It is settled law that the government’s refusal to subsidize abortion does not impermissibly burden a woman’s right to obtain an abortion,” Sykes stated. “If a ban on public funding for abortion does not directly violate the abortion right, then Indiana’s ban on other forms of public subsidy for abortion providers cannot be an unconstitutional condition that indirectly violates the right.”

Draft-dodger Donald Trump once said that the danger he faced from getting sexually transmitted diseases was his own “personal Vietnam.”

    http://www.thedailybeast.com/articl...was-my-personal-vietnam.html?via=twitter_page

In the 1980s, Trump tried to have disabled veteran street vendors thrown off Fifth Avenue, accusing the Vietnam-era soldiers of ruining how the street in front of Trump Tower looked. Before his presidential campaign, Trump’s charitable foundation gave more to the Clintons than to veterans organizations.

Trump has suggested he would be tremendous for veterans if elected president, but his efforts so far have been questionable

Bill Pryor also called Roe v. Wade an abomination. You conveniently left that out, Beth. Why so selective when it comes to Trump but not to the other candidates? And are you really so desperate that you have to dig up dirt from the 1980's? Shameful.

I'll take Trump on his own words. I don't need the lying, cheating Cruz campaign to tell me what to think of the man.

  11. Richard67

    Richard67 Powers

Total misrepresentation of what Trump said.

Trump has said that unless Planned Parenthood stops doing abortions, they will not get federal funding. I don't know how much more explicit he can get.

Certain elements of the pro-life movement are so fixated on repeating the lies from the Cruz campaign and other sources that they fail to actually read Trump's own words. This blind attack on Trump (which is probably well-intentioned by these pro-life groups) is nonetheless destroying the best chance we have at beating Hillary. And what is truly sad is not only are their preemptive attacks on Trump a fatal tactical calculation, but they are also unjust because Trump's conversion (although not complete) is genuine and Trump is genuinely seeking to make the right decisions on life issues. So sad to watch certain (not all, or even the most important) elements of the pro-life movement throw the baby out with the bathwater. They are literally throwing decades of hard work down the drain. They have been dazzled, not by Trump, but by the liar and cheat Ted Cruz (who never seems to ever stop smiling).

Excuse me Richard...I was pointing out the part of his record that YOU left out!
He might have said that about Roe., but I pointed out what he actually DID.

It is pointless to focus on any other candidates than the front runners...so that is what I do. I focus on trump, Rubio and Cruz.

In am addressing his history and his current record....and if you feel that his record is shameful, just remember that it is his...I'm addressing it because this is The CHARACTER of the man who wants to lead the free world! Is that so hard to understand.

If you want to talk about SHAMEFUL, please just play back every vulgar utterance that comes out of his disgusting, filthy, mouth.

The names he calles people, the way he demeans anybody and everybody. I'd be so ashamed to have this person as our president !

Whose the cheater?? just remember, trump cheated on multiple wives, what makes you think that he'll be loyal to anyone? No, he'll do what his history has already told us he'll do....whatever the heck he wants to do!

His character is proven untrustworthy....to point this out is called the vetting process...that is what a campaign is all about. For the people to get to know the man...the good, the bad and the ugly. For trump, his record is more of the ugly.

I might also add that I have limited my post to only those things that are the least offensive for readers on a catholic forum . There are some extremely vile and disgusting things that trump has said that reflect his gravely sick nature, that are just too offensive to post. If someone wants to know, it's out there, but I'll refrain...

You just have to look at this mountain of extreme personality dysfunction in trump, and ask yourself...how could he fool so many people...or are these people so desperate for change, that they will even resort to risking our nation with this kind of character? Wow, if that's the case, we're in worse shape than I thought. God help us.

Regardless, I'll say the truth...even if no one listens, it's still the truth.

    Hi lmbb,

I understand that sentiment, but Cruz is not in that category...that gang of establishment types do not like Cruz because he opposes them. He has a proven record...he is a known quantity...trump is not..his positions change like the weather.

Regardless, I'm very aware that trump supporters are willing to overlook that and put their hope in him, and I realize that he will most likely win the primary on Saturday. But, in good conscience, I feel the moral obligation of outing trumps policies and character as I see it. Could I be wrong..anyone could be wrong, but I've be at this my whole life, and trump frightens me as much as Obama did...HOPE and change...but what kind of change?

So if he is nominated, expect more of his sketchy past to be wall to wall coverage by the liberal left media. It might be so bad that he could actually lose to a radical like Hillary...UNLESS democrats see what I see behind his rhetoric...a true progressive. They may actually vote for him. Clearly planned parenthood and the abortion industry does not see a threat from Trump, so he might just win the general election too....at which point, he will do exactly what he wants to do with no reserve. As they say, the best indicator of future behavior , is past behavior. So just be prepared...and forewarned. A trump presidency may make the Clinton era look boring. IMHO...

No matter, we should all be on our knees...we may never come back from this.

    God bless.

    Hi Beth,

I have been coming to Mother of God Forums for several years now and I have been reading your posts here for the past month or so. I certainly know where you are coming from and as Catholics there are certain things we must consider when voting for a candidate. I will say though that we have been let down repeatedly by the establishment. I can't help but think back to 2012 and the cowardice of elected republicans and the party. They were so scared to say something that was politically incorrect, and even to see a great guy and Catholic like Rick Santorum support Arlen Specter over a pro-life candidate in Pat Toomey....or republicans refusing to stick up for Todd Akin in Missouri. I sort of feel I am left with two choices. Do I vote for an establishment candidate who will do nothing or a candidate in trump who i believe can get things done. It's such a dilemma I likely will not even vote. The problems we face as a country don't have a political solution.

    Dear CH,

I completely understand the anti establishment sentiments that are the driving force behind trump supporters. I too share the anti establishment feelings. I started a tea party to fight these career politicians! I worked daily to get that message to Washington. I know all of the details involved in the Santorum- Toomey, Arlen Spector situation. So I completely get how folks feel...heck, I'm probably the leader of the anti establishment !
They pay lip service to the ProLife community with FEW EXCEPTIONS....and Cruz is one of those exceptions. He has the strongest conservative voting record of any candidate running.
The establish won't help him because he is opposed to them...they hate him for just the reasons you cite...because he is antiestablishment! Cruz is one of us!

Because trump begets ratings and shouts louder, he is sucking all of the oxygen out of the air...hes out there getting attention screaming insults, lies and slurs about the other candidates and it gets wall to wall coverage. He is the mister tough guy that everyone wants to see stick it to the establishment and the democrats....the problem is, trump is a wolf in sheeps clothing...he spent practically his whole life as a liberal democrat, paying off politicians for business favors, throwing old ladies out of their homes for personal profit....cheating on multiple wives, demeaning anyone in the most ruthless manor to intimidate them into silence....and this is the guy were are going to elect to bring MORALITY back into government?

I have no idea how folks think that this ruthless candidate will turn this nation around. Yes, I hear the big campaign slogan, l'll make America great again....and all I see is Trump salesmanship...it's what he does... Do I see a sincere man with moral integerty...loyality...ethics....faith...humility....NO, I'm sorry...just not seeing it...at all.

Professional physiology experts from across the US have come out publicly about what they see in Trump.... And it's not good!

    https://www.psychologytoday.com/blo...-trump-have-narcissistic-personality-disorder

To think that a man with this potentially dangerous profile could run this nation and the free world is reason enough for me to try to keep ringing the bell about this guy.

At the end of the day, I know that I've tried and we as a nation will get the government that we deserve...because it is a free country and everyone has their say....until we Don't.

I also believe that if we elect this man to lead this nation, our problems will be bigger than any political challenge, it will be in my opinion, the end of one nation under God. If we select Trump, you will get the personality that you see now...not the promises. You can change policies routinely, as he does. But what will not change is trumps ruthless persona...and it might just be turned on the very folks that elected him..
    IMHO.

    God bless

We will know by July (Republican Convention) who will be the nominee. Right now, it looks like Trump's got it. I hate to be Debbie downer, but if that turns out to be the case, then I believe the final nail to the coffin has been hit. He might beat Hildabeast or Commie Sanders, but do we know what we're getting into? I mean, all we have from Trump are words and past behavior (which he wants us to overlook because it doesn't match his new found conservatism). Beating either of the two above, will not guarantee that America will get back on track to espousing conservative values or the principles of our founding fathers. Honestly, I'm not sure anyone will be able to turn the country around at this point, but if anyone has a shot, I think Cruz is it.

I know people are frustrated with the GOP establishment and I can't blame them. I'm angry too! From Cruz at least we have recorded opposition to the GOP and their shenanigans as well as Obama and his. Beth is right, the establishment can't stand Cruz because he doesn't side with them. 1st first it seemed they wanted Jeb Bush as their candidate and now they want Rubio. They do NOT want Cruz.

In the end, whoever becomes the President may not be who this country needs, but like Beth pointed out, who the nation deserves.

Lord Jesus and Mother Mary be with us!
