I will still stand (or kneel as the Spirit leads) with you and Our Lady, before the Lord who has your piece of the world in His faithful hands.:)

Safe in the Refuge of the Immaculate Heart!

I slacked off on the job hunt for a while due to a back problem that hit me out of nowhere, but I'm better now and putting the resume out there again.

Beth and Mario, you are very kind. Thanks a million.

I left the workforce in 2006 to be a stay at home mom also. I could be in your position at any moment, so I'm thankful for God's provision. I will be praying for you as your resume your job search. ((((hugs))))

    Prayers going up :)

Rain, may I suggest having a Mass said for the Holy Souls in Purgatory? They have helped me in so many circumstances of my life. The answers to my prayers may not have arrived at the time I wanted them to, but they sure as heck arrived in God's perfect timing---answers that I hadn't even thought about, but all turned out well. I know it's so hard to worry (trust me, I worry about sooooooo many things in life), but please be patient because as long as you trust in God's will for you, He will present you with the job you are meant to have. He Has great plans for you :)

I'm still on the hunt. When I got married, I moved from a mid-sized city of over 200,000 with a nice office job at a Fortune 500 company, to a rural area with a population 1,500.

The jobs I'm qualified for within a 50-mile radius of home are slim pickings. I'd be willing to do about anything at this point. However, due to my recent back problems, I don't think I can handle a job where I stand the entire day. Also, I have knee problems (runs in the family), so I can't do a lot of stooping either. This limits my options quite a bit.

I could use some more prayers.

On the plus side, I found out that I can stay on my husband's insurance for another year. Possibly two. So that's a relief.

In support of GJ's post above:
I left the workforce in 2004 to look after my kids. I've been looking at the jobs available for about the last year and had come to the conclusion that everything about me was too old - me, my qualifications, my experience, my values, my mindset etc, etc, etc.
in January i went to a day retreat on the Divine Will. After the dinner break there was a request for someone to get a lift home at the end of the retreat. It was in my general direction so i offered.
In our car conversation i told her how i really struggled to discern the Will of God when there were a number of options e,g. what type of job or re-education, or business option should i pursue.
She was fairly adamant that i needn't worry, that the right job would just come my way. In my head that just doesn't happen.
Well, i am currently training to do a paid version of a job i volunteered to do around that time, and i think it is as close to being the perfect job as I'd get re. location, hours, flexibility, and job content. It's a whole new area for me so the grace of God will most definitely be manifest!
soooo pray, trust, don't worry... but i know you will worry so go back to the beginning and pray, trust and don't worry, but you will worry, so pray, trust...
    you get the drift!
God is faithful and will take care of you.

Praying Rain. I am still waiting for the right job for me to "come my way". It is so, so difficult to not worry and very easy to feel like God has forgotten about you.

  18. Rain,I was a stay at homeschooling mom for 33 years. I still homeschool . I knew that I was not going to be happy anywhere but a church. I asked a priest in the next town if he knew of any part time job. He said no,but would keep his ear out. 3 weeks later he called me and asked me to be his secretary! Best job ever! "God,please find Rain a job she can live her faith and glorify you! "-Amen

Thanks for all of the prayers. Bart and MS7, your stories are very encouraging. My luck seems to be more like Potatosack's, but I'll continue to hope that God will answer my prayers by finding me a job that will work out great for me and my family. :)
