Logic....while there are no forces attempting to thwart any moves currently being made by Putin and his forces, and while his own people are suffering from a huge downturn in his own economy, he chooses to pour what finances he can into his own threatening moves against any hoped for peace in his own region....and supports the biggest backers of terrorism in the Middle East. It's not a question of liking or disliking the man personally but watching his most aggressive moves....for his own purposes. He has been shown that the borders are open to him...as they are to all the enemies of the West currently. And "the way things are going in the Middle East" are due to just what assistance Mr. Putin has been giving to Iran and Syria....he's the aggressor, not the victim there.
Good point. The fact is that Russia does not have the military capability to invade Europe. Russia has 1 aircraft carrier I think. In terms of offensive military bases, aircraft carriers, and the sheer size of its military forces, the West far exceeds Russia in every metric. The fact is that NATO has expanded right up to Russia's borders and NATO is building a missile defense "shield" that will neuter Russia's second strike nuclear capability and will render the concept of Mutually Assured Destruction null and void. It is the West, not Russia, who is the aggressor, especially in Ukraine and Syria. Just listen to this interview by the State Department's chief propagandist to understand how dangerous the situation is shaping up to be:
Nonsense. It wasn't Putin who launched a proxy war against Assad and the Syrian people. It was the West who gave arms and support to the terrorist "Syrian Rebels". The West created ISIS, who were our hired guns in Libya before taking the road to Damascus (and not to convert). Obama, Nuland, McCain, and the rest of the warmongers in D.C. are directly responsible for the bloodshed in Syria. Mr. Putin called them out and decided to show them what real military action against ISIS and the terrorist "Syrian Rebels" looks like. Mr. Assad has the support of the Catholic bishops in Syria as well as the Syrian people. There never was a popular uprising against him. Mr. Obama and his accomplices have more innocent Middle Eastern Christian blood on their hands then Nero. Without Putin's decisive actions, there would be far more Christian martyrs in the Middle East than there already are. The West has also placed unjust sanctions on Russia. It is only a matter of time before the karma rebounds and our own economy suffers.
That Gorbachev quote has never been independently verified as far as I know, although it does get recycled quite a bit on the internet. I have never seen a primary source for it. Maybe you have? Here's is far better take on Gorbachev: Gorbachev tomb visit revives 'closet Christian' rumours: Mikhail Gorbachev, the last communist leader of the Soviet Union, paid an unexpected visit Wednesday to the tomb of St Francis of Assisi in Italy, where he reportedly spent nearly a half-an-hour in silent meditation. Rumours of Gorbachev being a "closet Christian" have circulated for decades and were revived when he made the surprise visit with his daughter, Irina. "It was through St Francis that I arrived at the Church, so it was important that I came to visit his tomb," said the former communist leader, according to The Telegraph newspaper. "I feel very emotional to be here at such an important place not only for the Catholic faith, but for all humanity." Gorbachev, 77, was baptised into the Russian Orthodox Church as a child and his parents, both deceased now, were Christians. Moreover, the parents of his late wife, Raisa, were devout Christians who died during World War II for having religious icons in their home. Former President Ronald Reagan had allegedly told close aides that he suspected that his opponent during the Cold War was a "closet believer," according to The Telegraph. Many had suspected that Gorbachev was forced to hide his faith because of the USSR's official stance as an atheist state. Notably, however, on the eve of his encounter with Pope John Paul II in 1989, Gorbachev said the Soviet Union had erred in long rejecting religion and needed its moral force to help make his plans for a restructured society work. Furthmore, at the end of a November 1996 interview on CSPAN's Booknotes, Gorbachev described his plans for future books, stating "I don't know how many years God will be giving me, [or] what His plans are." In the past, Gorbachev had only expressed pantheistic views such as "nature is my god," according to The Telegraph. Besides kneeling before the tomb of St Francis of Assisi, Gorbachev during his Assisi visit also toured the Basilica of St Francis and asked the monks there for theological books to help him understand the life of St Francis. Father Miroslavo Anuskevic, who accompanied the former Soviet leader, said Gorbachev was not recognised by any of the worshippers in the church and had "silently meditated at the tomb for a while". "He seemed a man deeply inspired by charity, and told me that he was involved in a project to help children with cancer," reflected Anuskevic. "He talked a lot about Russia and said that even though the transition to democracy had been very important for the world, it was very painful for Russia," the priest added. "He said it was a country which has a great history, and also a great spirituality." http://www.christiantoday.com/article/exsoviet.leader.gorbachev.admits.he.is.christian/17459.htm
I don't think anything Putin says or does will ever convince you. Your mind was already made up, just like it is on the 1984 Consecration.
Yes, CNBC just reported that the Russians are responding to NATO's actions. And NATO are very much the aggressors in Syria. Incidentally, the same CNBC is reporting that the European and US markets are dropping again and there are increased fears that the US is entering recession while the cost of debt for Greece and other European countries is rising sharply. Claiming that Putin is getting aggressive to deflect from economic problems at home could be a case of the pot calling the kettle black.
No one is fearing NATO. Obama is doing nothing but reducing our military's capabilities and making us sitting ducks. Putin is only moving since he's tested the West and found his openings everywhere. There is nothing happening in the Middle East to any advance for the U.S. Those "talks" for the fait accompli by Iran as well as those "red lines" not moved on...with the lack of backing of the Kurds and refusing to even share intelligence with long time friends in Jordan as well as refusing help to the current savior of Egypt after providing for the Muzbros previously there, have sent our historical friends to go begging from Mr. Putin. Obama is his most "flexible" friend. The rules of engagement for our troops are actually targeting and endangering them. Meanwhile, again, Putin is putting everything he can into building up his forces and moving forward to take any advantage he can. He is NOT being attacked. If anyone is simply appearing to be on the defensive it's those forces that should be acting to protect the allies from the aggressions of Russian troops. No one is invading Russia....Russia HAS invaded sovereign borders of its neighbors as well as places in the Middle East with eyes on the rich mineral areas of the Arctic and North Pole. Our allies (Poland) who thought they could count on us for protection with some kind of defense system against just these kinds of threatening moves from Russia (remember they have not very good memories of such from the past) have nowhere to turn. Europe is actually inviting enemies into its borders....and you think that is helping their economic problems? Ha! That's proof to Putin that just a few threats of withholding energy supplies at this point will get him what he wants. He's willing to be brutal. The West is doing nothing. That "pot" is not even simmering.....it's cutting back on its military.....just the opposite from the "kettle"! May you be happy backing the necessary chaos within Europe as is occurring in the Middle East, Asia et al for the coming of the NWO. They count on this very type of duped cooperation.
I'll take the word of the Christians in the Middle East before any politician or politically influenced news outlet. Regarding Syria: Assad's father was a tyrant. Assad Jr. ran a dirty house in a stinking neighbourhood but wasn't as bad as his father. Christians in Syria could actually practice their religion. Children of both sexes were educated. Syria and Russia were allies since Soviet days. There was no mass emigration from Syria under Assad's rule. NATO decided to effect regime change in Syria. There were Arab Spring type protests where teachers and their students were reported to be killed. According to the Western press, all these protesters were innocent. John McCain promised them freedom and democracy. Obama promised them hope and change. (A warning to the citizens of any country to don a tin hat and head to the hills). The US called for Assad to step down and let the rebels take over. He refused and offered to negotiate. The rebels refused to negotiate. Obama threatened to bomb Damascus, Syria's capital city and said he could do it with or without Congressional approval. The threat was like a clarion call to jihadis from around the world. They flocked to Syria via Turkey. The French dithered. The British Parliament voted against. The US Congress didn't back Obama. The CIA armed the rebels with funding from Turkey, Qatar and Saudi and used the Muslim Brotherhood in Syria to distribute the arms. Various rebel groups received arms depending on which country they were closest to. The US trained rebels in Jordan and Turkey. Despite the savagery of the rebels, the arms kept coming. They took hostages and sold them on from one group to another, and the arms still flowed in. Obama drew his red line, and hey presto, there was a chemical weapons attack. A Belgian and an Italian journalist being held hostage hear their captors discuss their fellow insurgents using the chemical weapons. Money flowed into ISIS. They sold oil via Turkey. The US delivered arms to the Free Syrian Army. The FSA officer in charge of the arms dump did a disappearing act just as ISIS launched a surprise attack and captured all the weapons. Obama decided on regime change in Iraq. The Iraqi leader declined. ISIS travelled unhindered in convoy across open territory into Iraq and launched a "surprise" attack on a well-armed section of the Iraqi army, where the Sunni troops were wearing their civilian clothes beneath their uniforms and escaped while their Shi-ite officers and comrades were captured and beheaded. ISIS now had even more and better weapons to enable them rampage on through Iraq. The recruits and money kept flooding in and the oil kept flowing out. Obama got his regime change in Iraq. The US cobbled together a coalition of friendly states. The dropped bombs but not on Raqqa for fear of hurting civilians - compared to Damascus, Raqqa is a backwater town. They bombed for over a year with precious little effect. Russia starts bombing, the Turks shoot down one of their planes and rebels are there to finish off the pilot. Russia steps up the bombing, accuses the Turks of trading in ISIS oil, and Western powers of enabling the transfer of money to ISIS. The EU and US announced their intention to stop the flow of money to ISIS. Last week, a year after they first started bombing, the US finally found out where the oil was being loaded onto the trucks in Syria and their bombs hit a target. There was another meeting last week after the rebels finally decided to agree on who would represent them. The rebel spokesman announced that there would be no negotiations unless the West got rid of Assad. The US blamed Russia for refusing to negotiate. While all this was going on, Syrian refugees who looked well fed, well clothed and we are told are well educated were fleeing Syria and Iraq. The Yazidis and some Christians told us that their Muslim neighbours ransacked their homes as they fled. The Yazidis were standed on a mountain, the Turks wouldn't let the Kurds cross the border to help them and the US threw boxes of food at them until eventually they gave the Kurds some air cover for a rescue operation. Syrian refugees whom we were told were oppressed by Assad paid small fortunes to people smugglers in Syria and Turkey (operations run by terrorists) to get them to Europe. Turks made a thriving business from selling rubber dinghies and life vests. For years, the Turks had been seeking full membership of the EU and claimed that their lack of progress was down to their being a Muslim country. Britain and the US kept up the pressure on the EU to admit them. The Germans and the French refused because the Turks wouldn't implement the necessary reforms (Turkey had more journalists in prison than China). The refugees started coming, Merkel finally permitted dual citizenship for Turks in Germany, but that wasn't good enough; the Turks wanted more. The jihadi highway was still open, the refugees kept coming, so the EU lifted visa restrictions on Turkey, offered to speed up the membership negotiations and offered billions to the Turks to help care for the refugees. Whether the refugees will see any of that money is another question. It probably depends on how hard Turkey's economy will be affected by the drop in tourism. Meanwhile, the refugees will keep on coming until NATO's Turkey has all it wants from the EU unless NATO decides it doesn't want a war. My memory might be off on the exact sequence, but that's about the gist of it. How can all this be Russia's fault? Putin doesn't have Europe by the throat for oil supplies. He supplies some countries with natural gas - a trade that is as important to him as it is to the countries he supplies. Some of Russia's neighbours were reluctant to agree to sanctions because they suffer economically. A little scare that Russia is about to invade and they need defending should be enough to convince them to hold the line. I have one question: Does John McCain have a financial interest in weapons manufacturing?
Just a little tid-bit that I forgot to mention: One of those innocent teachers that had been demonstrating with her students was an ISIS recruit. According to her, she wasn't repulsed when she saw her comrades decapitating and crucifying innocent people - "it was war". A thirty year old, she would be considered an old maid in the Middle East. When ISIS decided to marry her off to a one-legged fighter, she discovered her conscience and fled. CNN did an interview with her, portraying her as a "victim" of war who is trying to get her life together. Imagine having her teaching in a school near you.
Thank you for explaining how Obama is no threat to Putin's goals...anywhere and an abuser of our traditional allies as well as destabilizing the entire region by assisting in the elimination of the strong men. And for explaining how the Obama regime has opened the region to the most aggressive thugs in the neighborhood in their "Arab Spring" and placing our troops in jeopardy. He also obviously is assisting his buddy, Putin, in keeping a satellite front for his own goals in the region. Putin certainly is not a mover in the realm of altruism.
Obama and Putin are not buddies. Obama took umbrage when Putin wouldn't embrace the agenda of the lavender mafia and tried to scupper the Sochi Olympics. The only difference between Obama and his predecessor is that he appears to have closer ties to Qatar than to Saudi. Do the Qataris have deeper pockets? The UN refuses to acknowledge the genocide of Christians in the Levant, yet screams blue murder every time the Russians drop a bomb in Syria. Kerry's assistant (her name was Barf or Harf) declared to the world that if the jihadis had access to education and decent jobs they wouldn't behead anyone. That excuse fell apart when the jihadis turned out to be university educated professionals. CNN had a reporter embedded with the rebels while other reporters and aid workers were being kidnapped. They even showed a Syrian eating a human heart, yet the arms continued to flow. No, Putin is no angel. He is looking out for his country's strategic interests. Can you name a single world leader who wouldn't do the same even if it meant military action? Thus far, the US/NATO has destabilised Iraq, Libya, Syria and Egypt, all in the cause of strategic interests, or as the more politically correct would call it, freedom and democracy. Iraq, being on the verge of acquiring nuclear arms, got negotiations. North Korea, which probably has the worst human rights record of any country and is a constant threat to some of its neighbours, repeatedly defies the international community. Of course, any attempt at regime change in North Korea requires Chinese approval, so they are punished by a finger wagging from the UN. No democratic Spring there. No current world leader (and probably few if any of their likely successors) even remotely resembles a statesman.
Interesting evidence of the grooming of Obama as a "blessing for world Communism"....interview with American physicist....info given dating back to 1992! Begin around 5 min. point:
There is no doubt that Obama is a Communist. Or that he was groomed by Marxists and Radicals. Putin had nothing to do with that. In fact, in the early 90's Putin was involved in a much different kind of Revolution than Obama was being groomed for. In the early 90's, Putin was involved in taking his country back from the Communists and Bolsheviks who had stole it from Russia in 1917. Putin was involved in a Patriotic military action against the Communists in his own country. The early 90's in Russia saw a literal civil war between Patriotic, Christian-loving Russians and the last remnant of Communist and Soviet forces. The following documentary gives you the real picture of what was going on in Russia in the 90's:
Yes, of course this "new" era cannot be a repeat of the Soviet Union....that is old school in the mind of Mr. Putin....it is now "simply" the "expansion back to the Motherland". And Putin whines..."no one believes us". I wonder why! And of course there are no Russian troops in Ukraine....while the troops' own selfies prove otherwise! And at the same time Mr. Putin was pleading his cause, Human Rights Watch accused Russia of using cluster bombs against civilians in Syria and the BBC reported that Russia’s latest air strike on Idlib killed at least 43 people. Meanwhile our own "sorties" return with bombs intact due to the rules of engagement that protect so called civilians driving those ISIS convoys....ha! We instead drop leaflets of warning to them. Purposeful uselessness on our part. Winks and nods.
There would have been no Russian troops in Crimea had the West not decided to stage a violent coup against Yanukovych. That was a no-brainer. The Crimeans knew that if they didn't have Russian protection, they would have been subject to the same genocidal treatment as the Donbass is currently being subjected to by the Western-backed thugs in Kiev.
As for Russian airstrikes on civilians in Syria, that is a bunch of State Department propaganda. When called out on the propaganda, the State Department spokesman fails to substantiate the claims:
They all lie. It goes with the job. We do best to not treat any of them like gods. They're just fallible human beings with super sized egos. Obama is a bully and a coward. He proved that when he declared that he needed nobody's authority to bomb Damascus and backed down when he would have had to go it alone. Putin is a bully but not a a coward. That's the difference. Obama has presided over the attempted genocide of Christians in the Middle East. In doing so, he has given rise to a belief among Muslims worldwide that their Caliphate is actually attainable if not now then some time in the future. He was raised among Muslims and knew how to push their buttons. By causing them to flood Europe, he has fed their never ending sense of victimhood against any government that doesn't afford them special treatment which will lead to civil unrest in Europe as their numbers grow. He has tried, and may well succeed, to tie Islam to skin colour. Effectively, he has set in motion the eventual worldwide genocide of Christians. He probably believes, like his understudies in the White House, that most of them will turn to Communism like him, but he's wrong because Islam is most compatible with a feudal system. Everything he touches turns rotten. That's his legacy. In years to come, we Christians may well be searching for another Putin, if not a carbon copy, at least a leader with guts.
Putin was in KGB until 1992. Woman with knowledge of Obama's grooming as "blessing for world communism" in 1992 had been KGB apparatchik. No, of course Putin within his intelligence operative responsibilities had no knowledge of this preparation for the future handing over of the U.S. on a silver platter to its enemies via the Alinsky methods. There is an alleged Youtube of Kissinger in 1980 which has since been scrubbed: “we are grooming a young man to be president one day his name is Barack Obama”. This was said during the 1980 convention. And that comment is consistent with what U.S. physicist Tom Fife said he experienced in Russia from the female Commie apparatchik in 1992. And from Youtube uploaded in 2009 Kissinger makes a very telling comment about Obama's purpose: Referring to the worldwide upheaval Kissinger's hopes back then were that.... he [Obama] can give due impetus to American foreign policy partly because the reception of him is so extraordinary around the world. I think his task will be to develop an overall strategy for America in this period when really a New World Order can be created. It’s a great opportunity. It is in fact a crisis.” The male reporter then asks: “Are you confident about the people whom president-elect Obama has chosen to surround him because he does not have a great deal of experience.” Kissinger replies: “He has appointed an extraordinarily able group in both the international and financial field.” Was Mr. Kissinger hiding the fact that he actually was delighted that such an inexperienced puppet was about to help create the world chaos so necessary for a supreme elitist to his liking to come on the scene and be the great hope of the world....after total control of the world's assets would pay off the world's debts and then hold the world in servitude for its very existence?? OTOH it would appear that both Mr. Putin and Obama are betting their New World Orders on the UN (and WTO). Kissinger is of course a known member of all the secretive elitist groups. Yet Obama's approach to this NWO appears to be more attune to Marxist Communism with Muslim connections of redistribution of wealth while Kissinger's may have been more obviously a set up for the elites of the Illuminati type. On the whole the entire setup is diabolical in truth and can only end in one of the Fatima/Garabandal outcomes which include the spread of world communism, total bloody chaos opening the scene for the Antichrist....for a while....along with upheavals of nature adding to the tribulation. And few are doing much of anything spiritually to attempt to mitigate the outcome.
