This one wont cause the stir the first one did.
Still looks like a UN ad to me.

Yawn, this stuff is just so boring.

Most Christians do care for the planet because they know the Creator and care for His creation. But of course, no mention of the Creator in the video.

Yes, slavery to consumerism is a problem, yes poverty is a problem but there are no easy fixes. Our modern economic system is on the verge of collapse - no sticking plaster is going to fix it.

The Pope's economic strategy for the changes he wants would be some form of socialism but socialism is the worst form of slavery.

Poverty will always be around. Always.

    Mark 14v7
The poor you will always have with you, and you can help them any time you want. But you will not always have me.

I think the Holy Father is trying to reach all people, no matter what creed or the absence of.

Jesus too often left the ball in the listeners court, He asked questions and He spoke in parables to get the people thinking!

He was drawing them into the fullness of truth, by speaking a truth that they could relate to! and then allowing His Holy Spirit to enlighten them as they pondered the greatness of His teachings!

The Holy Father is in danger of boring me to death with this stuff!!

No disrespect intended but give me a break.

I would love him in one of these videos for him to proclaim the Lordship & Kingship of Jesus Christ as Saviour of all men and preach of the need for conversion and holiness like an evangelist.

That is the need for our times.

We live in a Godless age and people need to be given the hope of the Gospel.

Maybe, I am just an old idealist but it is God who can fix the problems when we turn to Him.

Man without God is on the path to annihilation.

I believe in todays state of affairs/circumstances that that, would be near impossible to do, if your goal is the winning of souls.

    The average person today considers themselves to be so savvy that they would buck at the mention of God as Saviour let alone His kingship;
People today for the most part are deluded by the hype of today, which states that you are your own man.

But to expound on a truth that they can identify with, like Our Holy Father is doing, can be a way of opening doors that have been firmly shut by peoples perceptions of science and the new age garbage that fills their life.

The word of the Lord came to Jonah & he preached in the city of Nineveh for a day and it was converted.

The Word of the Lord has power, the Holy name of Jesus has power.

Have we forgotten about the power of Jesus Christ?

Are you saying that the Holy Fathers word on creation does not have power?

What Our Holy Father is saying is the Word of God!

The Power of the Catholic Church is behind it and it is spoken by the leader of Christs Church on earth!

It has the Power of Christ because it is the word of God and spoken by His mouthpiece!

Yes, I am saying that what the Holy Father is saying about the environment, politics and economics is not the word of God.

His understanding of economics is simplistic at best and even dangerous as it is close to socialism.

His understanding of economics, politics and environmentalism have been very much shaped by his world-view as a South American from Argentina.

I really don't think any Christian should have a problem with anything that the Pope says in his latest short video. Unfortunately, I think we tend to run to the barricades when the Pope speaks about anything outside 'religious matters'. I tend to agree that Francis possibly has a slightly 'simplistic' view of economics (although I haven't actually read much from him on the topic!).

But what the Pope is saying in the video is that there must be a better way to 'manage' things in the world than how we are doing it now. I am a supporter of capitalism as the best system that man has been able to come up with to deal with day to day living yet I fully support Pope Francis in his appeal to find a better way! There is so much injustice in the current system. Can we not hope and pray that God will show us a better way?

Francis is reaching out to everyone, those videos are not for us we don't need to be converted. A flamboyant video of ceremonial pomp which we all love is not going to work with the latte drinking, hipster, PC, everything they do is the right way, pristine bearded crowd in tweeds, but God wants them back or at least give them another chance.

No offense to latte drinkers meant.

you guys are funny...nothing wrong with video. in the United States we have cities that have contaminated water because of greed...also we have in California methane gas that can't be stopped shutting down a whole city. I can go on and on. Not sure Our Holy Father is saying anything wrong. We should take care of the earth. God created it for us not for the greed of consumerism. Greed equals sin...just take a look around.

    May Gods Will be Done

This is the Vatican video of papal prayer intentions for February, right?

Could someone who has watched this video please give me the time points at which the words God, Jesus Christ, Catholic Church, Salvation, "Pray" or "Prayers" are mentioned? Thanks in advance.

Well Brian if you care to watch it again ,with an open mind,
you will notice some rubbish wash up on the beach at o.26s.

Quite clearly we must all pray [believers /unbelievers] that the rubbish stops.
Because the Planet is very fragile.
I think the message is that we must eliminate the poor people. After all ,they cause a lot of the rubbish.

    Great video (y)(y)

there is nothing wrong with this video. the primary audience is not intended for us the converted. let our holy father plant a seed or open the door a crack so the Holy Spirit can do the converting for those who never would have listened to previous popes. I don't think micro-analyzing everything the pope does and says is what we are called to do time and time again.

    Mac,

Maybe you should start reading our Holy Fathers homilies. When he speaks to the Catholic Faithful... it is much different then a video that you and Brian Poo Poo on. Everything in the video is spiritually sound. You two just need something to attack Our Holy Father. It gets old real quick.

We might have a very mystical Pope... that you guys consistently trash.

    Nothing spiritual in it.
    The video is Humanism.
David Attenborough would be happy to narrate that trash.

For those that don't believe... can Our Holy Fathers remarks lead them to God?

Yes, it is spiritually sound..destruction of Gods creation is a sin. And when it is happening because of greed and extreme consumerism...then it actually shows evil. Both very important in the conversion process.

    :)
