Whilst you personally think that the majority of souls are destined for hell, it is important, especially in this Jubilee Year of Mercy to believe that no sinner is beyond God's mercy, and that no matter how hopeless the situation, or how stubborn the sinner, there is still hope for their salvation. If we have that defeatist mentality, then the devil will be delighted, because we may become despondent, or even despair of the salvation of souls. Yes, it is true, that no generation has ever been more sinful than this, our present generation, but by the same token, no generation has been given as much graces and blessings, through the apparitions of Our Blessed Mother and the revelation of Divine Mercy. And if we persevere in prayer and good works, a great multitude of souls will be saved. Our Lady at Fatima, whilst she did say 'many' souls do go to hell, she also said, 'most' go to purgatory. We must never forget that mercy is God's greatest attribute, not his justice. Mercy will always prevail. We should not grow weary at the state of the world, if anything it should spur us on to do more for sinners and to lead us to become more humble and thankful for the goodness and mercy that God continues to bless us with.

In Medjugorje, Mirjana the visionary was asked how many souls go to hell, she replied- "I asked her (Our Lady) about that recently, and She said that, today, most people go to purgatory, the next greatest number go to Hell, and only a few go directly to Heaven."
That’s just a link for another “sign after sign” Dolours, that’s not my view. Sandro Magister is a very controversial journalist, writing for a left wing newspaper, he must be read with some caution. Of course, if he wanted to prove a different point, he could easily find thousands of letters of good priests with plenty of good examples of people queuing to the confessionals, and thank God we have them. However, if you want to know my opinion, I agree with you, we are now at the apex of a slow process of demolition that started with the CVii, but I don’t see the VCii as a bad thing. The VCii was well intentioned and made very good achievements, nonetheless it left a door opened, and the smoke went in because the Church didn’t follow Our Lady’s orders. The consecration of Russia performed by the Pope, in union with all the bishops of the world, should have been done there, and that was the moment. The message of Fatima was an “either or” and we chose the “or”. Regarding to the Popes, we all have our preferences. A Pope is human and can do mistakes, but what we are going through now it’s very different. We are watching scandal after scandal, and I wish it was just a matter of stile, but it is not. We are now watching a new preaching and new actions radically different but in matters of faith and morals, and people like it because it’s easier and cooler. Because they think that conversion and amend of life is no longer needed to achieve the mercy of God. The last few Popes were distressed captains sailing the boats in the worldlystorm, but Pope Francis looks like – and I hope it’s just my wrong sight – he is the one causing the storm.
St. Louis Marie de Montfort Be one of the small number who find the way to life, and enter by the narrow gate into Heaven. Take care not to follow the majority and the common herd, so many of whom are lost. Do not be deceived; there are only two roads: one that leads to life and is narrow; the other that leads to death and is wide. There is no middle way. Pope Francis...'we are pilgrimaging towards each other and we will meet in the middle'
If that were the case and so few were to go to heaven then something as horrible as abortion could be justified because most of the unborn children would just end up going to hell if they were to live. That wouldn't make sense, would it? What is the point in saving unborn children if most of them are to go to hell further on in their lives due to so few being saved and going to heaven? The reason we are pro-life is because we know life is precious and we are God's children and he wants eternal life for us.
Your thinking that most are condemed is hard to deal with too, life would be pretty futile in that case. Good luck and God bless.
Has the Church Herself ever provided numbers or percentages or fractions of who is in Hell in Her Magisterial teaching? I have never come across it. If this is the case, why are we falling out over it? That's going to get nobody into Heaven! Let's all put our trust in the Sacred Heart and do our best. Let Our Lord look after the rest. He is going to save as many as can be saved, I think we can all agree on that?
“Your rod and your staff – they comfort me”: the shepherd needs the rod as protection against savage beasts ready to pounce on the flock; against robbers looking for prey. Along with the rod there is the staff which gives support and helps to make difficult crossings. Both of these are likewise part of the Church’s ministry, of the priest’s ministry. The Church too must use the shepherd’s rod, the rod with which he protects the faith against those who falsify it, against currents which lead the flock astray. The use of the rod can actually be a service of love. Today we can see that it has nothing to do with love when conduct unworthy of the priestly life is tolerated. Nor does it have to do with love if heresy is allowed to spread and the faith twisted and chipped away, as if it were something that we ourselves had invented. As if it were no longer God’s gift, the precious pearl which we cannot let be taken from us. Even so, the rod must always become once again the shepherd’s staff – a staff which helps men and women to tread difficult paths and to follow the Lord. (Benedict XVI, 11/06/2010)
Again I'll put in a "Plug" for The Divine Mercy Message! I'm thinking that the message of Christianity has always been that most, if not all, are damned ... but for the Mercy of God the Father, The Cross of Jesus, the Guidance of The Holy Ghost and the Intersession of Mary, Joseph and All the Saints! GOD SAVE ALL HERE!!
Then you're accusing all the Saints whose quotes have been posted here of Jansenism. That's not very wise.
13For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. Funny how today people subvert this scripture passage to mean EXACTLY the opposite of what it says (and all the doctors taught). Now BROAD is the path to heaven and most find it??? FEW people, it says FEW.
