I need discernment help. Last night, I had many dreams, all trying to get to Mass for Christmas, and everywhere I went, as I approached to receive the Eucharist, I was told that there was no Eucharist.

Generally speaking that which brings Peace is of the Spirit and that which leads to a loss of Peace and worry comes from Demons. So I was tempted at first to say it was only demons . Just to ignore them and use Sacramentals.

But this may not be so in this case. For instance when Our Lady showed the children the fires of Hell it must have been a shocker and the messages of Our Lady at Akita would turn your hair white.

Catholic Prophecy indicates that a time will come , for a period when there will be no Eucharist. I even read at least one report where it is said God will actually call back home to heaven all the hosts He will be so offended.

So it is possible that you are getting a foresight of this.

My advise is like Our Lady, 'To store these things in your heart' and to calmly and prayerfully consider them.

St Teresa of Avila comments that a true grace impresses itself in the heart. I have found myself that true visions tend to keep knocking on the door of our hearts.

I have a feeling this is true. But give it time , like Mary wait and see. I expect if it is true you will get more of these , like a movie series.

How interesting. I am a little jealous. I love stuff like this.

If it is demonic , don't worry, they always show their hand sooner or later. Increase the use of sacramentals just in case .

If you have a Spiritual Director of course take this to him and do exactly what he says. Ignore me.

If you don't have a Spiritual Director it may be time to consider shopping for one. But make sure he is minted gold. Not everyone can deal with this kinda stuff.

At midnight Mass ( 15 hours ago) I had a few sensations that suggested that the thread of grace/mercy is growing thin. I don't say it was disappearing, just thinning. It was sort of unnerving for a minute, but then that moment passed. I have a strong belief that every Mass we can attend is building up much needed graces for the future, for a time when we may not be so free to attend Mass and receive The Eucharist.

This Year of Mercy is important preparation and we should be positive about it.

As far as I recall Charlie Johnston was told things would get so bad in the Church that in 2017 Our Lady would have to intervene directly.

I have always taken Charlie's words seriously. This would fit with what has been said on this thread and with Mark Mallet too. Obviously if things have turned so horrendously bad by 2017 things must be starting to turn bad in the Church now.

Anyway something to think about.

 

I admit, I am deeply shaken. We had a strange event the night before in the early hours of Christmas Eve. A bright bluish flash lit up the sky and a long rumble followed, but the weather service says it was not lightning and thunder. I woke in the middle of the night, saw it, and discounted it, until I read in the news the next day that it was heard and seen not just here in Nebraska, but as far south as Kansas and as far east as Illinois.

The Dream was last night, Christmas night. I admit, I am trying to shake the deep sorrow I feel. It's not fear, it is deep sadness, like a death. Anyway, I will follow your advice.

 

I had the strangest, strongest feeling in prayer just a few weeks ago, Suddenly it came to me right out of the blue, 'You are going to die some day'.

Well you might at once say , 'Of course you are going to die someday ,everyone does and will'.

But it was like I was just hearing the news for the first time it was so strong. Overpowering, it really shook me.

The Spirit blows where He will. Who can say? Such mysteries.

 

They say the star was Russian space debris. But you know what? For some reason, I do not know why I simply don't believe them. I have the strongest feeling we are being lied too.

Who knows why?

 

I had the exact same experience almost a week ago Padraig, with the exact same reaction, like I was hearing it for the very first time, or maybe it was the reality of it, and it really shook me also.

Such a strang feeling Lily ,like having a bucket of very,very cold water poured over me. I am glad I am not the only one.

The old Catholic Spirituality used to centre on the four last things Death, Judgement and Heaven or Hell. People were asked to hone in on these to remind us that life is so passing. That is why in the old pictures of the saints you used to see them with a skull beside them. I think nowadays when people generally no longer die young or suddenly (generally) we have a feeling of being immortal. We are not.

 

I have no idea but there have been strange reports from the battlefields in the Ukraine:

I am just checking this site the day after Christmas. Last year I had the same experience of suddenly knowing, in a stunning, penetrating way, "You are going to die someday." I knew that before, but I didn't "know" it in the same way, in my bones. I was shaken for a day. I remember it clearly.

I, too, am glad to hear I'm not the only one who has had that experience.

When I try to discern upsetting dreams in my own life, I think it is best to start by looking at what is going on in my own life. For example, I tend to procrastinate, and when I'm pushing up against a deadline it is not unusual for me to experience a dream I've had a number of times since my college years. In this dream, I'm in college and falling behind in a particular course. I've missed a number of classes, am overdue on a paper, and am going to class to take a test I am unprepared for. Usually, I'll awake from this dream in a state of anxiety. But the important point is that what I'm experiencing in this dream is a reflection of what's going on in my life at the time.

On another occasion, I was dating a young lady named Elaine while still discerning the priesthood. I had a dream of chasing my future wife, Geralyn through a field strewn with flowers. Just before I reached out to grasp Geralyn's hand, an elderly priest who appeared to be on death's doorstep walked between Geralyn and myself and continued down a path. For a second I thought of chasing after him, but instead reached out and took Geralyn by the hand. At that moment I woke up. My life circumstances at that time were peaceful and stable, so I prayerfully concluded that the dream was one sign to no longer pursue the priesthood. However, I did inform the Lord that it was the wrong girl!

Fourteen months later, my beautiful bride of now 32 years and I were joyfully married!

So I believe that current reality is the proper place to begin when analyzing a dream. If the dream does not reflect current life situations, then I consider its meaning may be a portent for the future.
