I see what you're saying. Maybe I'm just hopeful Pope Francis is letting them hash it all out, show all their cards, and then he'll gently and profoundly teach us all Truth.

Bishops shouldn't need explanations about these things.

Well, no, you'd think not & certainly they should not. But Cupich alone clearly shows they do. Plus, many of the laity are thinking these things. I see it where I live not far from where Cupich now calls home. This synod, I hope, is also for them as well as all those outside the faith. I know so many non-Catholics and non-Christians who think these things, yet are open to hearing Pope Francis' message. I think there's real opportunity here to reach people in a way they haven't been before. I trust the Pope & I trust that the Holy Spirit is working through him.

I just hope that the media doesn't distort it all. And, I pray I am not simply wearing rose-colored glasses.

I listened to Michael Voris commenting on the Synod. He has segments of the Council Fathers speaking , two Archbishops, one from the USA and one from Australia .

I just had to stop watching at once. I just found these two guys utterly appalling. I have no idea what Our Lady is thinking watching from heaven but my own feeling is utter horror.

    There are no words. Horror.

I'm just going to go back trying to avoid the whole thing. It is like the Adams Family.

I see now why they burnt heretics at the stake. They should never have stopped.

Yuk . Must watch my blood pressure. It's like a horror movie.

I don't think God will put up this abomination much longer.

It will get worse...much worse but the true church will get smaller.

I heard someone on Catholic Radio say something very interesting. Its not good enough to just say "no". Our Catholic Faith has always been don't do this or don't do that. This Synod is really telling us why. We do have many rules but they are based on scripture...we need more of the why. Then people understand why we say "no".

I've been saying that for a while now, yet day by day goes by with more and more atrocities. I am beginning to be quite disillusioned by it all :(

I was listening to Father Robert Young's program on Luisa Piccarreta, and he read a passage where Jesus told Luisa he was removing many priests. She begged him not to, asking what would become of the people. Jesus said he would give the grace so that one priest could do the work of 20. And He said it was better to remove the priests than have them holding their positions when the persecution begins, because their collaboration with the enemy would harm souls much more. (I'll try to find the passage.)

I think the Lord is using this Synod to unmask the wolves in shepherd's clothing and separate them from his sheep, which is a great grace. May He have mercy on their souls, and may all those in error come to repentence!

I wouldn't think God would put up with this for very long either.
Many prophecies predict things will get so bad that even the elect will lose faith.
How could this be? What if things keep going like they are for another decade, maybe two or three and nothing happens.
I think many of the remnant that would be left would lose heart.
    Just a pondering.

    Unbelievable!

We must pray for Pope Francis. He is surrounded by wolves, the same wolves Pope Benedict warned about.

I doubt we will have to wait that long - I sure hope not. Have any other people here seen the prophecy of Sr. Jeanne de Royer from the late 1700's:

"Woe ! Woe ! Woe to the last century ! Here is what God wanted to show me in his Light. I began looking in the light of God, the century which must begin in 1800; I saw by this light that judgement wasn't there, and that it wouldn't be the last century. I considered, thanks to the same light, the century of 1900, until the end, to see positively if it would be the last. Our Lord made me know, and at the same time made me doubt, if it would be at the end of the century of 1900, or in that of 2000. But what I saw, it is that if the judgment arrived in the century of 1900, it would come only towards the end, and that if the world exceeds this century, the first two decades of the century of 2000 will not pass without the judgment intervening, as I saw it in the light of God."

I agree Kathy and have said as much for months now, as I can see no other explanation in what Pope Francis has been doing at times, almost from day one, accept to be as shrewd as he can be. So shrewd that even those on both sides of the fence and even those sitting on the fence will at times think he is on their side. This being said, I feel we MUST be prepared for the near future to seem as if we are on an island and alone in keeping what has always been taught. There will so much confusion that most will apostatize even if for a short while. This is why St. Pope John Paul gave us the Catholic Catechism as our main reference to truths that can never change. The rosary is our weapon, the brown scapular our armor and the catechism our faith explained.

I have seen this prophecy. It is on my "A" list as it is one of the few that gives any sort of time frame. I guess the question is though how long will the chastisement be? It could start in say 2018 but last 20 years. There are other prophecies that mention the year 2038 as the year the Pope will return to Rome from his exile. I know we are just guessing at this point but it is all we have.

  18. There are Orthodox bishops who were invited by the Pope to join the synod at the Vatican and one of them from Russia spoke boldly today. I'll copy and paste a couple of paragraphs below.

    https://mospat.ru/en/2015/10/21/news123870/

METROPOLITAN HILARION OF VOLOKOLAMSK. . . The Church is called to be a luminary and beacon in the darkness of this age, and Christians to be the ‘salt of the earth’ and ‘light to the world’. We all ought to recall the Saviour’s warning: ‘If the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men’ (Matt. 5: 13-14). The salt which has lost its savour are those Protestant communities which call themselves Christian, but which preach moral ideals incompatible with Christianity. If in this type of community a rite of blessing of same-sex unions is introduced, or a lesbian so called ‘bishop’ calls for the replacement of crosses from the churches with the Muslim crescent, can we speak of this community as a ‘church’? We are witnessing the betrayal of Christianity by those who are prepared to accommodate themselves to a secular, godless and churchless world.

. . . The Orthodox Church, like the Catholic Church, has always in her teaching followed Holy Scripture and Sacred Tradition in asserting the principle of the sanctity of marriage founded on the Saviour’s own words (Matt. 19: 6; Mk. 10: 9). In our time this position should be ever more strengthened and unanimous. We should defend it jointly both within the framework of dialogue with the legislative and executive branches of power of various countries, as well as in the forums of international organizations such as the UN and the Council of Europe. We ought not to confine ourselves to well-intentioned appeals but should by all means possible ensure that the family is legally protected.

Solidarity among the Churches and all people of good will is essential for guarding the family from the challenges of the secular world and thereby protecting our future. I hope that one of the fruits of the Assembly of the Synod will be the further development of Orthodox-Catholic co-operation in this direction.

You know I cannot remember the source of this Prophecy, perhaps someone else will recall. But it is said that we will reach a point of such depravity in the Church and in the World when Our Lady herself would be outraged and instead of holding back the hand of God would, herself approach the Throne of God and Demand condign punishment.

I always rejected this, but now I doubt.

    Now I doubt.

    Now I doubt...

It has reached such a point I cannot even bear to read what certain Bishops and Cardinals are saying. Such soul racking horror. What must the Angels think? I can't imagine.

Worse, the thought comes to me; if Bishops and Cardinals preach such things what will I do if it is preached in the monastery where I go to mass everyday? I think I would just about keel over in shock.

May God forgive me but thank God my mother and father are dead and never lived to see such filth.

    Sigh. How terrible.
