Isn't it amazing how the church once sent missionaries to evangelize Africa and now Africa is evangelizing the rest of the world. Wasn't there a prophecy of a black pope somewhere? Many said it referred to a Jesuit Pope, but perhaps it actually means a black pope.

I would love to see a black Pope.

Here is a powerful speech given at the Synod the other day. I would've loved to have been a fly on the wall just so I could see the reaction from the liberals/progressives!!

THE WORLD NEEDS REAL FREEDOM, LIBERATION FROM SIN, SAYS ROMANIAN DOCTOR AT THE SYNOD
    October 17, 2015

[IMG]The following intervention was made by Dr. Anca-Maria Cernea, President of the Association of Catholic Doctors of Bucharest (Romania), at the Ordinary Synod on the Family on Friday.

Your Holiness, Synod Fathers, Brothers and Sisters, I represent the Association of Catholic Doctors from Bucharest.

I am from the Romanian Greek Catholic Church.

My father was a Christian political leader, who was imprisoned by the communists for 17 years. My parents were engaged to marry, but their wedding took place 17 years later.

My mother waited all those years for my father, although she didn’t even know if he was still alive. They have been heroically faithful to God and to their engagement.

Their example shows that God’s grace can overcome terrible social circumstances and material poverty.

We, as Catholic doctors, defending life and family, can see this is, first of all, a spiritual battle.

Material poverty and consumerism are not the primary cause of the family crisis.

The primary cause of the sexual and cultural revolution is ideological.

Our Lady of Fatima has said that Russia’s errors would spread all over the world.

It was first done under a violent form, classical Marxism, by killing tens of millions.

Now it’s being done mostly by cultural Marxism. There is continuity from Lenin’s sex revolution, through Gramsci and the Frankfurt school, to the current-day gay-rights and gender ideology.

Classical Marxism pretended to redesign society, through violent take-over of property.

Now the revolution goes deeper; it pretends to redefine family, sex identity and human nature.

This ideology calls itself progressive. But it is nothing else than the ancient serpent’s offer, for man to take control, to replace God, to arrange salvation here, in this world.

It’s an error of religious nature, it’s Gnosticism.

It’s the task of the shepherds to recognize it, and warn the flock against this danger.

“Seek ye therefore first the Kingdom of God, and His justice, and all these things shall be added unto you.”

The Church’s mission is to save souls. Evil, in this world, comes from sin. Not from income disparity or “climate change”.

    The solution is: Evangelization. Conversion.

Not an ever increasing government control. Not a world government. These are nowadays the main agents imposing cultural Marxism to our nations, under the form of population control, reproductive health, gay rights, gender education, and so on.

What the world needs nowadays is not limitation of freedom, but real freedom, liberation from sin. Salvation.

Our Church was suppressed by the soviet occupation. But none of our 12 bishops betrayed their communion with the Holy Father. Our Church survived thanks to our bishops’ determination and example in resisting prisons and terror.

Our bishops asked the community not to follow the world. Not to cooperate with the communists.

Now we need Rome to tell the world: “Repent of your sins and turn to God for the Kingdom of Heaven is near”.

Not only us, the Catholic laity, but also many Christian Orthodox are anxiously praying for this Synod. Because, as they say, if the Catholic Church gives in to the spirit of this world, it is going to be very difficult for all the other Christians to resist it.

Excellent stuff, it is a world government the powers that be are aiming for and they are manipulating issues like migration and climate change to encourage people to welcome such a government. But of course the truth is that the people who aim to run such a government are the true heirs of the USSR etc.

But the Holy Father doesn't seem to be of this political outlook, he doesn't seem to buy the 'conspiracy theory' ( Cardinal Pell on the otherhand would share that view somewhat), but maybe he will in time!

John Bosco’s Prophecy – The Synod at the Crossroads
    Posted on October 20, 2015 by charliej373

(I have had many people contact me regarding the Pope talking about decentralizing the Church, following a more participatory model. Naturally, many people are getting the vapors, fearful that this means each synodal sect can choose whatever doctrine it wants -and the Church will come apart. My friends, I say this in the best sense possible: Get a grip. The Pope specifically said, in discussing this, that “Doctrine will not be touched.” Cardinal George Pell confirmed that the Pope insisted on that.

This deserves a complete column – and I will do that after the Synod is finished. But two things here: First, do not get your news on the Church from secular establishment sources. It is not just that they are hostile to the faith, but they are utterly theologically illiterate. It is like getting agitated because a five-year-old says your dissertation on nuclear physics is messed up. Second, stop looking for the flaw and judge righteous judgment. So many people are so fearful that the Pope is going to contradict doctrine and, thus, invalidate the promises of Christ, that they look for it with every statement he makes. Stop it or you are going to drive yourselves nuts. Be deliberate and judge righteous judgment.

The Pope is looking at gently restructuring the Church in the form of the Family of God rather than a mere classroom. Done properly, it will set many things right. I will write at length about it after the Synod is over….but I have LONG been hoping for this. This Pope is going to steer us through the Storm, re-evangelize the world, and prove a worthy guardian of the Magisterium. He has entered the beginning of his greatness, Watch and see.

Instead, today I will reprint this piece by Fr. Regis Scanlon from the Capuchin Franciscan’s News Blog. It addresses the Synod as it goes forward.-CJ)

I think the two posts above highlight, in a way, two classically opposing approaches to this synod. The EWTN video of Arroyo's show continues its carping, critical approach which I suspect would not have been allowed had Mother Angelica still been running EWTN today. Whereas Charlie Johnson's approach is, for me, positive, sound and well balanced.

Some kind of schism could occur if the EWTN approach is taken up by large numbers of 'thinking' Catholics.

Here is an interesting little subject that I just discovered will be gone over today by the Synod fathers. It must have gotten overlooked by the press in all the excitement over the other hot-button issues but it is a huge issue in and of itself.
    Here it is:

"The general opening of holy communion to non-Catholic Christians married to Catholics."

    What?
    How is this even possible?
They can't go to confession to be absolved of their sins before receiving the Holy Eucharist but they can go to communion?
Why would this even be brought up? It is an impossibility.
I wonder what other little nuggets are out there that haven't come to the surface yet.

I suppose that any manner of craziness can be discussed. It doesn't mean that it will be approved, but it DOES mean that there are a minority of bishops who essentially seem to have lost the Catholic faith. Let us pray that the sound teaching will pre-dominate more and more among the Bishops.

To some degree I agree with you, but I don't think things contrary to the faith should be discussed. For example the merits of abortion or physician assisted suicide. To do so only gives those arguments credence. Why waste valuable time discussing something which is impossible. It is just worrisome.

I agree that it SHOULDN'T be discussed. Like I said, the fact that it is being discussed means that there are at least some Bishops who have lost the Catholic faith.

Maybe I'm way off base in my thinking, but I am OK with it being discussed. I'd rather the elephant in the room be talked about so then education about why it should not be there can be given because it's not going away on its own.

If we ignore it because it's wrong and don't discuss, we lose out on explaining why it's wrong. I didn't take many parts of Catholicism seriously because I didn't know the why of it. I'd never been taught the "why" - just "don't or God will be mad at you" and that, in my stubbornness, wasn't enough. Once I learned why, I got 100% behind it and started living it.

There are only a few days left of the synod. It's working portion ends Saturday. These next few days are very important so keep praying. They will be putting together the final report and the bishops will need prayers from us to discern what portions to vote up or down on. Also please pray for the translators who are working with the bishops. Apparently there has been a lot of confusion and problems that have come up in things being translated imprecisely. Even entire sentences being left out as the translators struggle to keep up. Tiny variations can make a big difference.

I guess the problem I see is not that they are discussing for example how to explain what the Church teaches to divorced and remarried or homosexuals, but how to bend Church teaching to accommodate their sins. If it was purely a discussion on how we can make Church teaching more clear to them I would be all for it, but that is not what is happening.
