Vatican Investigating Possible Russian Orthodox Hack Of 2013 Papal Elections

In a surprise press conference today, Monsignor Buonarroti, Head of the Catholic Internet Agency (CIA), affirmed that in 2013 Russian Orthodox hackers infiltrated the Vatican servers in an attempt to sway the outcome of the latest Papal Conclave that elected Pope Francis. The hack was traced to a group of seminarians based out of a small seminary in suburban Moscow.

“They wanted to sew seeds of confusion in the Catholic Church to bring it more in line with a Russian Orthodox doctrinal policy,” Buonarroti told EOTT. He went on to say that the attempts by the Russians did not have any real effect, and that any similarities in doctrinal approaches between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Vatican on certain issues were purely coincidental.

Others, though, insist that a number of Cardinals at the Conclave were unknowingly swayed by the fake news stemming from the Russian group.

“The Russians really made a mess of the Vatican,” reported a source from the Sovereign Military Order of Malta who declined to be named because he does not have authority to speak publicly.

In addition, the FBI swiftly released a statement critical of the CIA’s findings.

“The hack was clearly in retaliation against the traditional Roman policy towards Russia. As a lay movement, the Fatima Believers Institute (FBI) will continue to demand that the entire Catholic episcopacy, along with the Pope, will intervene in Russia. We have a mandate from heaven and the job was only half done.”

When told of the FBI’s statement and pressed for a clear ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer as to whether Rome’s past spiritual intervention was successful, an exasperated Buonarroti replied, “We do not give binary answers to complicated consecration questions.”

Pope Hosts Interfaith Peace Gathering Between Vatican And Priestly Fraternity Of St. Peter In Assisi
    Image: RyansWorld

In what Pope Francis called “the first ever interfaith peace gathering between the Vatican and the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter (FSSP) ” in Assisi, the Pontiff told those gathered that “calling people rigid in the name of God does not represent the true nature of religion and must be condemned by all.”

“We never tire of repeating that the name of God cannot be used to justify insults. We must always remember that although sticks and stones may break a person’s bones, words will never hurt them.”

The three-day event, organized by the Diocese of Assisi, called “Thirst for Peace: Thinking before Speaking,” is what the Pope hopes will be a yearly renewal “between two very different, yet somehow, similar faiths.”

Following a prayer service, the pope joined FSSP Superior General Reverend John Berg to appeal for peace and unity.

In his speech, Francis called on believers of every faith, including fringe religions such as Scientologists, Branch Dividians, the Peoples Temple, and members of the Priestly Fraternity Of St. Peter “to confront the great sickness of our time: Ad Orientem.”

“It is a virus that paralyzes, rendering us lethargic and insensitive, a disease that eats away at the very heart of religious fervor, giving rise to a new and deeply sad paganism: the paganism of turning one’s back at the people of God,” he said.

The pope went on to call on religious believers to not remain indifferent to the suffering of people who have had to attend a Mass that they did not understand, but instead, to be “the voice of those oppressed women who have had to wear silly hijab-like mantillas.”

“I am thinking of traditionalist families, whose lives have been shattered; of the children who have known only hostile sermons; of the elderly, forced to kneel during Mass. All of them have a great thirst for comfort,” Francis said. “We do not want these tragedies to be forgotten.”

Actually the saying is "the pun is the lowest form of wit."

Besides the obvious - EOTT is a satire site, not a sarcasm site.

Don't worry though, 0/2 must qualify as a low form of sumthin'

Speaking of "Hacks", Filthy Lucre and the Smoke of Satan! It's time to remind you of the below Catholic "Spring" Conspiracy exposed by Wikileaks a couple of months ago. If it was the Russians that handed off the info then they should get a Vatican medal! I'm much more afraid of the axis of Soros, Podesta and Liberal Democrats than Russians!

Not the Russians this time but an Italian brother and sister team and at least one Cardinal in the Vatican was among the victims. Not two kids in their mothers' basement, one of them is a qualified nuclear engineer; they operated out of a brokerage firm, and the servers were located in the US. Is anything safe or confidential these days?

Italy arrests two for hacking into emails of ECB's Draghi, former Italy PM Renzi

By Steve Scherer and Massimiliano Di Giorgio

ROME (Reuters) – Italian police arrested two siblings on Tuesday for hacking into the emails of European Central Bank President Mario Draghi, former Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and thousands of other accounts.

The Rome court ordered the arrest of Giulio Occhionero, 45, and his sister Francesca Maria Occhionero, 48, for stealing state secrets and illegal hacking. Lawyers representing the two could not be immediately reached.

“There were tens of thousands of email accounts hacked, and among them were accounts belonging to bankers, businessmen and even several cardinals in the Vatican,” Roberto Di Legami, director of the specialised cyber police unit that conducted the investigation, told Reuters.

Giulio Occhionero, a nuclear engineer by training, developed the malware that infected the email accounts and allowed him access to all correspondence, Di Legami said.

The emails were probably used by Occhionero, who heads an investment firm called Westland Securities, “to make investments based on reserved information,” Di Legami said.

Draghi’s account at the Bank of Italy, where he was previously governor, and Renzi’s account while he was prime minister were among those infected by the malware, according to the arrest warrant.

Draghi’s ECB account was not listed as having been targeted in the warrant.

Spokesmen for Renzi and the ECB could not be immediately reached. The Bank of Italy, whose former Director General Fabrizio Saccomanni was also a victim, had no immediate comment.

Occhionero, which means black-eye in Italian, called his software “Eye Pyramid” in reference to the all-seeing eye of God like the one depicted on the back of the U.S. dollar bill.

“He was very obsessive in cataloguing the information,” Di Legami said. A folder containing emails relating to a Masonic lodge was called “BROS” for “Brothers”, while another regarding politicians was called “POBU” for “Politicians Business”.

While most of the hacking appears to have been focused on the email accounts, there was evidence that he had managed to install a keylogger on some computers, allowing him to see every keystroke, Di Legami said.

According to the material already seized in Rome, some 18,000 accounts may have been hacked, and some 2,000 user passwords were found.

Former Prime Minister Mario Monti’s accounts at Bocconi University, where he worked, and at the Senate also were targeted.

Vatican culture minister Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi was another victim of the cyberattack. Cardinal Ravasi was not immediately available for comment.

Email addresses at important legal firms, accounting companies, labour unions, and even credit recovery groups were also put under control, according to the warrant.

Some “99 percent” of the data was stored in the United States, Di Legami said.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation, at the request of the Rome court, has seized the servers. They will be shipped back in coming days, but it will take some time before the information they contain can be analysed, he said.

High Ranking Freemason Arrested in Italy Email Hack

(ROME) Italian police arrested two siblings, one a high ranking Freemason, on Tuesday for hacking into the emails of European Central Bank President Mario Draghi, former prime minister Matteo Renzi and thousands of others.

The Rome court ordered the detention of Giulio Occhionero, 45, and his sister Francesca Maria Occhionero, 48, for stealing state secrets and illegal hacking. Lawyers representing the two could not be immediately reached.

"There were tens of thousands of email accounts hacked, and among them were accounts belonging to bankers, businessmen and even several cardinals in the Vatican," Roberto Di Legami, head of the specialised police cyber unit that conducted the investigation.

Giulio Occhionero, a trained nuclear engineer and co-founder of investment firm Westland Securities, used a malware to infect the email accounts so that he could make "investments based on reserved information," Di Legami said.

Occhionero was a high-ranking member of a Masonic lodge, which in Italy are shrouded in secrecy, and among those he monitored was the grand master of the country's biggest lodge, the arrest warrant said.

Yes, and I remember how Fr. Gobbi used to say that so many Cardinals and Bishops carried their certificate of ordination in one pocket and in the other pocket their membership ID in Freemasonry (or something to that effect!)!!

I came across this story of a French parish priest who was laicised in 2013 for refusing to leave the Masons. http://www.france24.com/en/20130525-france-catholic-priest-stripped-functions-freemasonry . Notice France24's vague description of Freemasonry as "a fraternal organisation that arose from the loose grouping of medieval masons, or stone workers, in the building industry. Early organisational forms included lodges and craft guilds. Critics have likened it to a secret society as certain aspects are kept private".

Regarding the laicised priest, some reports say that he openly promoted gay marriage, an end to priestly celibacy and the usual stuff that's against Church teaching. He also made no secret of his membership of the Masons. I'm surprised that he wasn't laicised immediately the Bishop discovered he was a Mason. Apparently, the Bishop wrote to Rome, Rome responded saying that he should be laicised, three representatives of the Diocese met him and asked him to leave the Masons, he refused and was laicised. According to one report, he can be reinstated if he decides to leave the Masons. I know that priests are in short supply, but someone like that priest should be made to go through an RCIA programme before being readmitted to the Church, and there should be no question of his ever being permitted to practice as a priest again.

It's really quite shocking to see comments from Catholics boasting about being Masons and singing the organisation's praises. Some of them say that their priests are also members.

I'm pretty sure everyone realizes it, but the first two articles in this thread were simply satire from the catholic satirical website EOTT. These subsequent articles about Freemasonry, unfortunately, are NOT satire but reality.

I don't separate Satan's puppet's. Liberal Dem's are surely his puppets, but Russia and Putin are as well and we have Our Lady of Fatima's own testimony to this. The fact is, we have his puppets all around us now, even in the house of God in many of his ministers. It is long past the time when we could single out individual groups as Satan's puppet's, but it seems apparent to me they are all around us now.

It's easier to cope with the puppets outside so long as they aren't gaining the upper hand inside the house of God. Something I read in the information posted about the Freemasons made sense. I can't remember which thread it was on or who posted the link - possibly Mac or Brian. Essentially, the long term plan was to corrupt the Church to the extent that non-Catholic morality and values would become so widespread that Catholics advocating them would do so believing that they were being good Catholics. The strategy appears to have been successful.
